Unfriendly policy around repair/s returns of an expensive garment that was a larger part of a $1000 transaction. I repeatedly asked to exchange the garment which obviously was defective I was met with hostile argument by owner who could have made the situation better by offering to repair the garment. I was prepared to buy another round of clothes similar to the first visit ($1000). But I cant do business where I'm treated poorly. read more

Avoid this store at all costs! The store owner Liz screamed at my child, followed me around the store as if I was stealing, was aggressive, obnoxious and unprofessional. Shopping here is STRESSFUL and UNPLEASANT! I feel so bad for her employees that are subject to this environment daily. read more

Horrible store run by a horrific owner. I've been coming to Westhampton for many summers and have shopped at Fahrenheit 451 many times. Roughly two weeks ago, I purchased a pair of medium sized shorts for my son, as a gift. He tried them on and they were too small. I took the shorts back to the store, a day or two later, to exchange them for a size large. The owner of the store could have been one of the most rude individuals I have ever met. She spoke in an extremely condescending and belittling tone, explaining to me that the store had a no-return/no-exchange policy. I explained to her I had not been told this when purchasing the gift, as if I had, I obviously wouldn't have purchased the item, and asked if she could make an exception. With an extraordinarily aggressive attitude, she said absolutely not and seemed affronted at the notion that I would even ask. Needless to say, I will never shop at this store again and would in the strongest way manner possible suggest no one else either. I hope this goes out of business tomorrow and cannot believe such ugly people exist in this world. read more

Paid $100 more than the labels actual website for a pair of jeans. I can see a small boutique charging $20-40 more, but $100!!!!! Glad we found the jeans, and bought 3 more from the designer's website directly and saved a fortune. If this store was clean and orderly, at least it would have been a nice shopping experience. But it feels like a rummage flea market with piles and piles of clothing all over the place. It was stressing me out. I definitely would never shop here again. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I left this place feeling like I needed to sage my self and take a shower. I'm surprised they didn't have an armed guard at the door the way they were hovering on me the whole time- and I was in there with my grandparents. I came to yelp because I figured I couldn't be the only one experiencing this behavior by the disrespectful people who work there. They should be ashamed of themselves after seeing all of these reviews and really consider doing a little self reflection. I was looking at a button down and layed it on top of one of the fifteen piles of jeans to take a closer look at it and the employee grabbed it away and my grandmother said "we are interested in this top and are still looking"then she told us we couldn't lay it on top of the jeans. We obliged and then My grandmother asked why can't we put the shirt there? She told my grandmother because she doesn't want them to snag and they are very expensive. It made no sense as it was a cotton shirt (not a knit) and there was nothing sharp or anywhere in sight that could snag anything - she was just nasty. I wanted to try the shirt on and she hung it back up. I loved the shirt and my grandmother offered to buy it for me but we decided not to support this horrid Buisness and find it somewhere else. I was thinking about how in the world this place could even still be in Buisness after all these years and I can honestly say I think it's a little suspicious. Has anyone ever heard of the Tannery in Boston? If not, look it up. You will know what I'm talking about. read more

Without a doubt the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. There's a reason this store has such terrible reviews and, in my opinion, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. My mom, sister, cousin and I were in the Hamptons this summer and visited Fahrenheit 451. My cousin went into the store first (alone) and noticed that they had the pair of Golden Goose sneakers I had been wanting. The owner jumped down her throat when she tried to take a picture of the shoes to show me. My cousin left to come and get us from another shop on the same street and when we walked into Fahrenheit 451, the owner was immediately bitchy and judgmental. As I was looking at the GG sneakers, she so rudely snapped and said "are you even going to buy them?". Long story short, I ended up buying the GG sneakers but from a different, more friendly boutique. I refuse to support a business with such HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I have to chime in on the chorus of bad reviews. While visiting friends in Westhampton recently I decided to pop in to this store even though at first glance it looks very disorganized and cluttered. Once I saw the brands I was excited to shop. The owner was awful. For context, my friend and I are well-dressed 50 something year olds and there was not a soul in the store. The town was very quiet (off season). She didn't want us to touch anything. She said, you tell us what you are looking for and we will pull clothes for you. I said, I really don't know what I'm looking for. That seemed to irritate her. I like to browse and if I see something I like, I'll try it on and then maybe buy it. That's kinda how that works for me. She was having none of that nonsense. She and a young saleswoman continued to hover over us which I absolutely hate. The owner reprimanded us multiple times if we touched something. We were being very respectful and neat in our browsing, and we continued to be friendly and light hearted about the whole thing. We didn't unfold or mess up anything. When I had questions she was rude and seemed generally irritated we were there. I ended up buying a few things and spent over $700. It wasn't until I walked out that I thought - wow that was the weirdest and rudest shopping experience I've ever had. I regret buying anything because I could have bought the same items from a store with a nicer owner or online. The clothing itself is fabulous. Great labels, and a well curated collection with lots of sizes. I just don't understand the owner's snarky attitude. And btw, during the hour we were in the store not a single person walked in. I was staying with a friend in the area and my mother, my friend and I went in because the outside made some of the clothing look cute. We weren't dressed up (we were in very casual attire) and that somehow made the owner profile us. I felt like I couldn't even browse because the lady was following us around the store and staring us down the entire time ( I assume she thought we were too poor to be there and assumed we were trying to steal). It made us EXTREMELY uncomfortable, so we left and found more friendly stores. Also, the store is extremely overpriced for what it is. This place needs some serious unconscious bias training. She was following me and my friends around and said to her colleague "don't let her go out of the store with that it" as if I was going to steal something. I had seen the prior reviews for poor customer service and decided to check out the store for myself anyway. I am very disappointed to say that all the other 1 star reviews were spot on. The owner was incredibly rude and condescending. I was honestly so excited about the clothes they had and saw many items I was interested in buying in the mere 5 minutes I was in the store, but upon my interaction with the owner I felt immediately uncomfortable and unwelcome and left shortly after. When I say I wanted to like this store I truly mean it. They carry so many brands that I love and I've tried going in there several times but the last time I went in was the final straw. I went in to drop some good money on a bunch of engagement party outfits and left feeling degraded and empty. First, the second you walk in you notice how poorly the store is merchandised. There is such beautiful clothing smooshed in together so tightly that most items just become completely unappealing. Who wants to buy a $600 dress when it's smashed in-between 5 other black dresses like this is TJ Maxx or something? Jeans are f-ing everywhere. Gorgeous cashmere sweaters are piled all over the table in disarray. Please hire someone from Urban Outfitters who knows how to refold clothes properly throughout their 8 hour shift. Second, but most importantly, the staff here is beyond rude. They don't help you- they shout in your direction from across the store. If you don't like the fit of something or you're unsure about a piece, they don't suggest something else that you may like- they walk away from you when you're mid sentence like you're wasting their time. The owner is particularly rude. She clearly doesn't need the business of anyone who walks into her store. I honestly have no idea why anyone would continue to shop here. I'm a designer and have worked in haute couture retail for many years of my life and never witnessed any employee treat a customer the way that this woman does. Even that woman who tried on a 10k ballgown while eating a tuna sandwich (she didn't buy it). Listen lady, you're selling expensive jeans to a bunch of Hamptons beach-goers. Westhampton, NY, is a wonderful town with some of the most accommodating and friendly retail stores, and restaurants that one can find anywhere. Up until the awful COVID crisis, it was mostly a seasonal town where many of the shops closed down in the off season. Most of the store owners know that they have a limited season and try to do twelve months of business in four or five months. Please know that I don't believe that I have ever posted a scathing review of any store or restaurant. Having been a store owner for over 38 years I know how hard it is to stand on your feet all day and put a smile on your face even if you are having the worst day of your life. With that said, my sister, daughter, my niece and myself, I attempted to walk into Fahrenheit 451 last week and do some shopping. We like to support small business, and we really love to shop! My family having been in retail know better than to take precious time away from business to just play around a store for amusement. Getting back to our experience. Know that this was the forth attempt to shop the store in the last two years. So, the four of us walked in and were so rudely greeted by woman who I will assume is the owner. Se did not greet us other than to say "how many of you are there?" We told her four. She again rudely said "well only three of you can come in." I said that we were a family and would like to shop together, and she basically said that one of us can't come in. The front of the store was empty. I confess I didn't see if there were a lot of people in the back. As it is the store is completely cramped with little space to even turn around so I would have understood if she had politely asked us to come back a little later. It is the kind of store, being so over packed with merchandise that you would probably need assistance. That would have been fine with us, but she was so nasty with an attitude that basically said, I don't care about your business. The last three times my daughter and I went into the store we were never offered any assistance, and when we asked a question about a piece of clothing she barely gave an answer. Having mentioned this particular incident to a few friends, and family members, many of them were not surprised as they have also had a bad experience in the store. Thankfully, there are so many new shops in WHB that are a pleasure to patronize. Fahrenheit is not one of them! read more

I was shopping for my nieces birthday, and went to Faranheit, it is a very small shop with clothing all over which made it difficult to walk, I requested some sizes, and the owner, Liz, was speaking loudly on her cell phone, and ignored me for ten minutes. When she was done, she stated that she was closing early, and had no time to help me. Liz responded to a return policy question, by stating, no returns or exchanges at this time. She was really obnoxious and nasty ; I was ready to spend a few hundred, but would never go back. read more

I love this store; they have most beautiful selection with top brands in any of the Hamptons! I've seen ppl come into this cute little shop with their drinks, phones, strollers and ice cream just to browse and touch and mess up the pricey merchandise and get upset when manager asks them if they need help. She is very helpful and kind once she sees you're seriously interested in shopping....I just love the excellent selection of clothing and popular designers right in my town! read more

Terrible customer service. I came in on 8/12 at 5:30pm and the sales associate was not helpful and very pretentious. I was looking at a pair of sneakers and my cousin just so happened to be looking for the exact pair in the shop so I pulled out my phone to send her a picture and was told that pictures were "not allowed". I left and came back with my friend to look at them in person and the sales associate was laughing and making smart little comments. Little does she know that I had two pairs of those sneakers in my bag and with decent customer service we would have purchased them. Will not be back and will not recommend. read more

As a resident in Westhampton it's a shame that the owner is so rude, it is unpleasant to walk in the door. It's confusing to me why an owner would scare off her customers. When my friends visit and want to shop I can't bring myself to take them in unless we decide as a goof we'll go in just so I can show them that I wasn't exaggerating about how mean the owner is. People still do not realize that Customer Service is #1 when it comes to good customer relationship. There are too many choices to deal with unfriendly staff. What a waste of great inventory- the owner is BEYOND RUDE. I came in with my baby/stroller (hello- this place sells baby clothes) and the owner ran over and freaked out because the stroller wheels were touching clothes. She didn't smile or make me feel welcome, and I actually felt her eyes on me the entire time. I'm a guy who has a hard time finding jeans that I like. For some reason the fit is always a little off. I've bought a few pairs of jeans from Fahrenheit and it's always been great. Excellent service and a really solid selection. The store is small and they have a lot of stuff so it can be a little daunting, but the owner and her staff completely take care of you the whole time you're shopping... helping with sizes, styles, etc. Feels like a really great boutique. Definitely a go-to place. read more

I can't even given this place one star. I'm a local and I've shopped all the hamptons for years and this store by far was the worst experience ever. It's messy, too much inventory everywhere, the sales people are pushy and tell you what you want to hear even if something looks bad just to make the sale. I spent a few hundred dollars on clothes before deciding I'd never go back as I purchased a T shirt that I didn't try on and when I got home realized it was too big. I went in 10 days later to exchange it for one size smaller and the owner wouldn't let me. She patronized me by saying, " we don't take exchanges or returns after 7 days and it says so right here, in case you didn't read it!" I asked if she could please make an exception as I was in the hospital and couldn't get in any sooner.....all true btw. She told me NO and when I told her I wasn't looking to return the T shirt but rather get a size that fits me...she said she didn't care. I asked if it was really necessary for her to enforce this rule on me and lose me as a customer. She said , "that's fine but I'm not exchanging it!" This store has been in Westhampton Beach for a long time. While it is true that they have quite a bit of inventory, much of which is very high end...The shopping experience is less than pleasant. The staff is short with you, and the owner actually is extremely unfriendly... It really is too bad, as the selection is expensive but good, but the experience terrible! read more

I love this store! They carry all the Brands I love and introduced me to new ones. The staff could not be more helpful. They actual help you. When they ask can I help you they actually mean it. They were so knowledgeable. And they even told me when something wasn't great on me and suggested something else that looked better on me. They helped me find a whole new wardrobe. I am not an easy fit and they found me so many good outfits. And they even helped me find the best jeans (which I can never find). Best shopping experience I have ever had. They are the best!! read more
