There are very few stores in Sag Harbor that have been around as long as the 5&10. They have a wide variety of products at a reasonable price and employees who are always willing to help! read more

Overpriced and unfriendly, even if you've been coming here your entire life. They do have a surprising number of crafty things. Meh.

This store is truly one of a kind. As a child, I loved exploring the unique items in the bins on the far left side. As an adult, my opinion hasn't changed. From stylish sweaters and T-shirts to office supplies and essential household items, everything is right at your fingertips. If only I could leave zero stars and still say my part.... the lady who I have seen for years, is somehow still working that nasty attitude and dirty cash register. I love to support local, but wow does that big mean lady make sure I always walk out having had an unpleasant experience and a lingering bad taste in my mouth. She is awful. The Ladies have been running this store since I was a kid. I remember going there for 3 dollar ked sneakers and blow up tubes for the beach.. As a kid that place was a dream come true, bought many paper dolls! It's your holiday place to shop. Right now it's Halloween! Costumes, face paints. They have every thing. Socks, hats, candy, papers, pots & pans. cards, baby sizes to adult tee's and toy,s etc..etc.. The owners are great. Love the 5&10. read more

This store has been around a very long time, was fun to visit, and had a very good reputation. However a recent experience with someone who was either a disgruntled employee or one of the recent generation of owners who doesn't seem to know or care much about customer service, left me wondering if the ownership had changed, and wishing for the good old days. It began as a simple request for the price of a flashlight on a day when we did a lot of shopping, and the one who had made that purchase had paid cash but had lost the receipt. He thought it was "around 25," but I did need to verify for reimbursement from the owner of the house I'm renting this summer. There was no brand name on the flashlight and the box it came in had been discarded. First call: We don't have any flashlights that cost that much. Next call: The person who bought it is sure he got it at your store. Annoyed employee: I told you we don't carry any flashights that cost more than $8 or $9. Next: We're in the village to shop, so a visit to the store with the flashlight: more rudeness and denial that they sold that item there. Now I'm determined to get an answer: some research, identified the brand. Next call: after waiting while they checked, got the answer, then a slam down before I could even say thank you. Evidently the more expensive flashlights were not displayed with the others, but it seems the rude one should have known that or at the least have made an effort to inquire of someone else who might know the first time I called. Sag Harbor is no longer the quiet little village it used to be, thanks to the influx of tourists and the building of condominiums where the old Bulova Watch Factory used to be, so it might be understandable under circumstances of a certain type of rude customer, but as someone who has had family living here for many years, and has owned or rented homes in the area since the l960's, I found my recent experience to be sad and disappointing to say the least. read more

This store is a gem. They have the quirkiest items and its been there forever. They are also the only place in town where you can find lampshades (unless you want to pay a fortune at Hildreths in Southampton). They carry everything from tshirts.. yarn.. fabric... tupperware.. lampshades. read more

A Consumer Protection Act is piece of legislation that is passed with regard of protecting the rights of consumers, however this store is in clear violation of the customer rights... the store employee downgraded customer rights and treated the customer without any respect, creating a very unpleasant experience. An employee name Lisa is a women who has no manners to work with customers, she is also capable of lying, making the customers upset and feel sick the way she was treating him. Upon return of the merchandise on the next morning after the purchase, the employee name Lisa refused to provide store credit in accordance with store policy. The item was returned in the same condition as it was purchased at the night before with all receipts in its original store shopping bag. However, she was in a bad mood on the next day when I was trying to return the item, she was extremely annoyed and rude to me, telling me that for the reason of hygiene, she will not accepted return of baseball hat. At the same time there were dozens of other customers trying the same baseball hats in front of her. I also tried about six different hats before buying one for my husband with the help of the store assistant - a young female employee. This employee brought to me about six different hats to try. I returned the hat and she keeps the money. I disputed this transaction with the credit card, and she wrote in the response to the credit card dispute that the customer returned worn merchandise. She is a criminal, lying to the credit card dispute dep. and she should be exposed to the proper authorities for her actions. She forgot that I had two witnesses. She should feel ashamed of what she had done, instead she is making insulting remarks toward the honest customer. The store is full of cheap Chinese made merchandise, which I did not realize when I purchased the item. The item was purchased for my husband, who refused to try it at home as the threads were showing underneath from the seams, the quality according to him is horrible and he would not wear it. Because of this, the item was returned to the store on the next morning and then ... a nightmare started, terrifying and very unpleasant experience, and still is ongoing. read more
