Fair and Square Fair and Square is the name of Mr. Robert Russo's construction company of Farmingdale, in Long Island. Those two words perfectly define what Mr. Russo's company is all about: fair and square: extraordinary service at reasonable cost. From the very first meeting, when Mr. Russo came to the house to look at the architect's blue print, he impressed us by his clear, sincere and professional approach to his business. The project, to redo the foundations of the main entrance of the house with new foundations, new steps and platform, building a porch and changing the door, small or midsize job didn't matter: he explained very clearly what the work would entail, steps and flow of the work, materials needed and cost, which he followed strictly from beginning to end, even when some aspect of the project required more work and more time than originally anticipated. Mr. Russo was involved in every step of the work. He has a pool of very well trained and hard working people: very professional, hardworking and with lots of experience. The crew that was most involved in our project, Sergio and his two assistants, performed an excellent work: highly skilled workers in masonry, carpentry and in all around construction work, they complemented each other perfectly, and together they did an excellent job. They were very accommodating and open to consider some small details and suggestion from us . Their work, particularly some details in the porch and the doorframe, was extraordinary. They were equally very generous with their time, specially the last day when they had to extend their time to accede to our request to finish the work on that weekend. Mr. Russo was always available and prompt to attend to any of our concerns. Would I recommend him and his company? I am already looking at our next house project to fall into Fair and Square work schedule! read more

For any projects, I usually get a few quotes to compare prices and companies. Rob the owner from Fair and Square was my first quote on a window project and after our first encounter there was no need to get comparison quotes. Rob is great to work with, professional, knowledgeable and very patient with my thousand questions. While we were waiting for the supplies to come from the manufacturer, I called Rob over once again to get another quote, this time on my roof. Within a few weeks, Rob had his team over to work on both projects together. Sergio was the main man on the team, and I can't express enough how pleasant, respectful and amazing Sergio is. We are first time home owners and Sergio is obviously an experienced professional. He gave us ideas that we would not even think of. He leads a great team. They took pride in their work and cleaned everyday after they were done. When the project was over, I hardly had any cleaning up to do. My windows and roof came out beautiful. I just had the best contractor experience I have ever had. Had my small master bath redone and it came out beautifully. Highly recommend Fair and Square - Rob the owner is so great to work with - he checks in every day both morning and afternoon, oversees the plumbing and electrical and any subs. Sergio the on-site foreman is a true craftsman whose work is impeccable - he takes such pride in his work and it shows. I also asked that when certain things were going to be done if they could do those on my day off so I could oversee it. They always accommodated my schedule! I had a couple of complications because of the small size of my room and Sergio figured out some clever and beautiful solutions - just really knows every aspect of construction. Every day they protected all my stuff while they worked and cleaned up at the end of the day and they dealt with my slight obsession with details as I laid out the marble tiles in the way I wanted so the pattern would look random! (They also put in a new skylight in the den). Working with their foreman was so easy cause he just knew what I was trying to do (an added bonus they are the contractors for the Nate and Jeremiah show on LI so you know they are good). read more

We used them for a large home renovation which included a new kitchen, dining room, living room, finished basement, windows and siding and couldn't be happier with the finished product. We received quotes from several other contractors before we decided to use Fair & Square because the price was good and we were impressed with the detail and thoroughness of Rob's proposal. Rob was very easy to work with, available and responsive to all our questions and inquiries. We really appreciated Rob's online customer portal where he continually updated the detailed schedule of when each item in the job was due to be worked on/completed (e.g., excavation, demolition, framing, plumbing, etc.). Rob continually stopped by during the entire duration of the project to check on sub-contractor progress and to make sure we were satisfied. We hired Fair and Square to have a wall removed and a steal beam put in its place. We are very pleased from beginning to end. Rob was very informative and took his time explaining each step to us, since we have limited knowledge on construction work. The workers were on time, neat, and considerate. My wife was home with our 3 small kids through the entire project and the workers were very understanding when they needed to move around the house and get to the kitchen.
