Over deliver, ahead of schedule, exceeding expectations, didn't have to become my own project…read moremanager, trust worthy crew,  over and beyond are some ways I have to describe John J Contracting and this blows my mind because every contractor who has done work to my house over the last 15 years in most cases not one of those descriptive words apply to any of them! To say that I'm blown away by John J contracting who checked off every one of those boxes is mind blowing to me Project was to convert my garage into a utilizable living space  I 1st met with Paul who listened to what I wanted done and put together a plan to help me convert my garage into a dance/music studio for my kids.   His ideas were better then the previous 3 contractors I met with, he took a day to create my estimate and from a price perspective he fell in between the high and the low bids I already had. Paul's professionalism kinda sold me, he was very focused and has a great personality. I wanted him to win the job and he fell in my budget so it made my decision very easy to choose them A day before the projects start date I met with John Joyce the owner who came to my house with Paul. We went over some last minute details and ideas and he had a lot of offer from a design and practicality perspective.   Day one of renovation went amazingly well, Joe was over seeing the demo, he was great and didn't cause any collateral damage to my house. Demo guys sometimes can. He didn't , Framing was overseen by another Joe. He was meticulous and had great foresight to the project. Engaged me with any concerns and we worked through all unforeseen obstacles my garage presented. The electrition and plumber were top notch. They were specialist to there perspective fields. My last contractor had one guy for everything but not certified in anything. Unlike any other contractor I ever had they showed up every day. Everyday there was progress being made to my renovation. Most importantly to me was that Paul and John both stopped by my job site every day and sometimes 3 times in a day. But on average probably twice a day to oversee the progress and make enhancements/adjustments as necessary as the project developed, at no extra charge in some cases, they definitely wanted to do what was best for me and not beat me over the head In the process with additional costs. The project called for 3 weeks from start to finish. They completed it ahead of schedule.  All the workers were trustworthy and personable I felt 100% comfortable to leave my young kids home alone for a short time while the guys were working.  At no point did I have have to act as my own project manager as I had to in the past with other contractors. At no point I had to chase them around just to get confirmations on simple things like "are you coming today? " like I had to in the past Paul picked up the phone I would have to say within three rings 99% of the time. Even on Sundays.  To give an idea of who I used in the past  Allure to do my upstairs in 2018.  They had missed a lot of days and a the PM Chris would never return my calls and once the job started he Just went MIA.  I give them 4 out of 10 stars and would never recommend them. Refused to use them again. I paid 30% more and for 50% less I'm my opinion  CCP contracting Who did a renovation downstairs in 2019.  Owner would not return unless I had sent a scathing text message begging for a call back, and when he called me back he made me feel like I was bothering him. Started my job in mid April needed it done by my birthday mid May and commited to that time frame, and did not end up not finishing till mid June. After the job was done things that needed to be touched up and they ghosted me pretty much.  ( John J actually fixed some of their issues for me) I can't say enough good about John J Contracting, I will only use them going forward, I recommend them to the highest degree.  Do not start a project without giving them consideration James

We have a split level and they remodeled our kitchen, took down walls, put in beams, worked with our kitchen designer and gave us the kitchen of our dreams. They were so clean throughout the process and communicative. We never had to ask what was happening, Ray and his team kept us in the loop on everything daily. It was important to Ray that we were happy with the work as well and he made sure to check in with us throughout the project. They were done quicker than we anticipated and we can't wait to have Ray and his team back to re-do our bathroom. I have been recommending Ray and his team to all my friends and colleagues and would continue to recommend him to anyone that needs a great GC. The job was slightly delayed due to the weather but John constantly reached out to let us know what was going on and he started the job as soon as he was able. At each phase of the project he communicated what he was doing. At one phase he ran into roots from an old Oak tree but his guys were able to remove them and didn't charge us for the additional work that was required. I highly recommend this company and will probably be using them in the future for some pavers that we need done.

They also built a new outdoor deck to replace our old one. They were a pleasure to deal with: super-communicative and responsive, respectful of our space, did a great job moving things, protecting our belongings from dust, painting carefully afterwards. The craftsmanship is impeccable and beautiful. It looks even better than we hoped, and none of those nagging "oh I wish they had done it *this* way" feelings that you often have after a contractor does their thing. And ... the price was entirely reasonable, with no hidden costs or surprise billing. I would call Lanzo again in a heartbeat. My wife even wished we had more work to do so we could keep them around longer!?!

After a couple years of searching for contractors, materials, and appliances to use in our…read moreapartment's renovation, we selected Martin Tellez company Lanzo Construction to renovate our apartment in Brooklyn, New York. Martin was always open to suggestions and changes. He was great at working together and in sync with the cabinet maker, and the countertop builder/designer, nobody had to delay their part of the project to finish our renovation. Martin's crew opened all the walls in our kitchen, living room and bathroom, and they prepared the water and gas connections, and replaced all the electrical wiring for the new appliances, light fixtures and a new electrical panel for the whole apartment. In the bathroom they installed a new bathtub with glass doors, sink, toilet, shower head and a medicine cabinet, they did the tile work for the walls and the floor, and the electrical wiring for the main light fixture and for the medicine cabinet. In the living room, they removed partially a wall and created a small dinning area and pantry section behind a wall. They also installed new gallery style lighting, and a light fixture over our dining table, and they put electrical outlets in every wall of the apartment, bringing all the electrical up to code and into de 21st century. For the kitchen, we hired an incredible cabinet maker that designed and built ours in the kitchen and a pantry unit in our hallway. We also hired a specialist on granite counter tops for our kitchen. Martin's crew prepared the walls for the new cabinets and they did the tile work on the walls and floor in the kitchen, and helped to set the countertops Martin was in charge of demolition, dry wall, electrical wiring and appliances installation, tile work in kitchen and bathroom, plumbing work in the kitchen and bathroom; also in charge of carpentry by building closets, installing sliding and regular doors, installing and finishing wooden floors, and painting the whole apartment. We are very satisfied with his work, and fair price, we will keep requesting his services for keeping up our apartment We are recommending Martin and his business to everybody that would like to have a great experience and a superb finished job doing a renovation.

Like others, I received a time window. Spotless was showless. I called 15 minutes after the window…read moreended. I was told we "like a number of others that day did not receive service. I would have an appointment the next day, with a 2-4pm window (at the end of the day)." I wasn't interested in sitting around again with the possibility of a no-show and no notice or call. I answered, "No. Not interested in your service now or in the future." Given the big hype on their phonemail about customer service and happy customers, the cavalier attitude (after I arranged my schedule and was forced to re-schedule my yard clean-up ,etc because of the no-show, and would have to hire another contractor) surprised me. Almost as surprised as when the Spotless truck appeared in the morning many days later, and I repeated to the crew leader that I had terminated Spotless. Shortly afterward, I received an email that my appointment was canceled. The "family" crew that I hired was reasonably priced, efficient, and honest. Best wishes to others who had more positive experiences with Spotless.
