Great people. Great food. They happily accommodate special…read moreorders (I spent a lot of time in CA and became a big fan of Tri Tip - which is not a common cut on the East Coast) - they get it for me promptly whenever I request it. Quality of all the meat is outstanding. The sandwiches are awesome. This place is everything you could hope a small local butcher shop would be. Thankful to Alex and Josh for giving us this gem of a spot.

We were visiting the nearby Billings Farm and a staff person there recommended that we pick up…read moresandwiches at the Village Butcher (five minutes away) and then have a picnic on one of their many tables at the Farm. This was a great suggestion. I selected the House Roast Beef sandwich ($13) - with lettuce, tomato, Vermont cheddar, and garlic aioli, served on a kaiser roll. The roast beef was rare, juicy and the other ingredients helped to make it a hardy and delicious sandwich. My wife had the Veggie Lover's Delight ($12) - with roasted red and yellow peppers, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber, served on sourdough bread with a goat cheese and pesto spread. Their refrigerator cases had the makings for a simple picnic to an extravagant spread -- and everything in between. It's called the Village Butcher because it also is a butcher shop in addition to selling sandwiches. There is no inside seating, but there is plenty of outdoor tables. This is the kind of place you wouldn't discover on your own, but it makes for a great lunch spot.
