There were even enough parking spaces for the crowds of people ready to buy flowers. fruits and vegetables. What an amazing array of chrysanthemums and garden flowers, even pumpkins. Lots of ornamental varieties of plants that I have not seen before. The inside market is a gourmet delight with the most beautiful offerings of fruits and vegetables; the largest carrots I have ever seen! There was a peach pie that almost made it to my car.

Review for the fall festival only. We have been to their fall festival two years in a row and it's great! Lots to do- they have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, tire playground, potato sac slides, barrel train rides, hay rides, jump pad, corn playground, pedal cars etc. They also have food - burgers, hot dogs, fries etc and also another stand with hot cocoa, Apple cider donuts etc. My son easily spends hours here and never wants to leave. We have gone earlier in the season both times and didn't have to deal with long lines for food or activities like some others have mentioned. Some friends have gone in late October and it seems busier then. Can be pricey for a big family but definitely enjoyable.

** Farm Market / Kitchen Review** Let me start off by saying that this is not my first time at Fair Weather, and usually the experience has been good at the Farm Market and Kitchen. However, today I placed an order (after being hung up on 7 times in a row because they claim to have trouble with their phone lines) for 2 Sandwiches. After paying $15 (vermonster) for one and $18 (BLT sub for turkey) for the other, I am extremely disappointed. Not only was I shocked that they charged me an extra 3.25 for the turkey but was not told via phone that there was an upcharge to sub their chicken BLT for turkey. I will admit that when I first opened the containers there was a slight smell from both sandwiches that contained turkey (I'm sure most of you have experienced it with deli meats). I took a bite and all I could taste was the EXTREMLY BURNT bacon. I called the Farm Market and let them know right away and they said they would have the Manager Stephanie give me a call. I took 2 bites of the sandwich and decided to go back. Upon explanation, they offered to make new sandwiches which I refused and instead received a refund, but not before asking me if I planned on returning the small bag of chips that came with it. I left and about 15 min later I received a call from the manager. First, she was apologetic and said that we are all human and make mistakes and that only a few pieces of the bacon was in fact burnt upon her review. OK fine, but then as I am explaining to her the disappointment, she proceeds to tell me that in the future I should let them know when placing an order that I would not like BURNT bacon. The pictures speak for itself... ALL of the bacon in both were the same, burnt! As a manager in the service industry, I can understand that food may not always be perfect, but you don't want to blame the customer when in fact, your kitchen is the one who provided the bad product. Stephanie took it very personal and was even argumentative about the situation when I was only trying to convey that maybe they should have better judgment next time they are prepping the food. Let's just say that the customer service I received in store and via phone were less than pleasant.

Drink Case...Also has some breads and stromboli

**Farm Market Review** During the warmer weather months you can stop here for lunch. The cases are filled with salads, stuffed breads, fresh salsa. They also have a daily special board with made to order sandwiches, tacos or stacks. They have a really go turkey sandwich with Mike's Hot Honey & cheddar. All specials come with a side which could be a choice of an apple, chips or chickpea salad just to name a few. The chickpea salad is really good. During the fall they have an Autumn harvest salad in the case that has apples sometimes cranberries nuts roasted squash so good. And everything is made from the produce that they sell so it's fresh fresh fresh. I love stopping by here for lunch cuz you can buy fruit from the stands they also have an area with snacks and they sell really good balsamic vinegar you'll just have to stop by and check it out for yourself.

You need plants? They got you! Prefer them in a hanger? Got you. Want the plants in a conical shape? They got you! Like to buy plants, but prefer to wheel them to the cashier in a red wagon? Yep. It takes you a long time to select plants so you like to eat an ice cream cone while looking? They got you. Buying plants makes you hungry for fresh bread or soup? They got you covered. Like to eat your soup and bread in front of a fire, but you're out of wood? You're all set!

The staff is SO friendly here. They have a great variety of fruits, vegetables, prepared meals, dairy, plants, flowers and ICE CREAM! They also have goats, chickens, rabbits and a donkey that you can visit. Super cute place!

Then we walked down to the lovely tulip field to pick our own tulips. While there are only about 6 rows of tulips, they are absolutely gorgeous. You're also allowed to pick the bulbs and bring them home with you, so I can't wait to try growing my own next year. It's a great way to spent an hour or so picking your own flowers and supporting a local business. I'll def have to come back for if they do other food picking later on in the year!

For several years I have been trying to convience Mark to get on board with joining a Connecticut…read moreFarm that participates in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) without much luck. However, the stars finally aligned this summer after he finally realized two things 1) We eat a ton (not literally...ok maybe literally) of vegetables year round and 2) He saw the diversity of produce one of his co workers' received each week from a CSA at Bishop's Farm last year. CSA programs provide a great opportunity that links the farmer directly to the consumer It's a great way to cut out the middleman, develop a relationship with a local farm and get weekly or or twice monthly fresh produce during the spring and summer growing season. Over the winter we signed up and paid a membership fee to buy "shares" for the spring and summer growing season. These membership fees do vary by farm and depends on things like production costs, what produce you receive, and growing season. Beckett Farm had the option of an early Summer Share and a Regular Summer Share. The early Summer Share ran from May to the end of June. Pick up throughout the entire season was on Mondays from 4-7pm. If they had "left over or extra" we had the option to purchase additional items. From the first week we knew that we had made the right decision - fresh asparagus, lettuce, radishes and beets were filled our first box along with lemon basil - a new to me herb. The difference between fresh picked asparagus cooked on the grill and what you find in the grocery store is like night and day. During the summer we opted for the Summer Share where received a box of produce every other week. We chose this option instead of the weekly share since it is just Mark and I we were not sure 1) how much produce we would get each week and 2) how much of the food that we received we would actually eat and how much would go to waste. I am happy to report that only about 5% or less went to "waste". The rest was happily eaten and some itemzs (like the snap peas and green beans) have been frozen for winter use. The produce varied from week to week depending on what was ripe and ready to be harvested. Some weeks we had a variety of different fruits and vegetables and other weeks we had a lot of the same thing. This was trulely an adventure and definately got Mark and I out of our comfort zone. It forced us to try things (like mustard greens and japanese eggplant) that we would probably not bought on our own. That's one of the beauties of Becktt Farm and CSA program in general - the ability to get fresh fruits and vegetables and a chance to expand your culinary horizons. I also loved the fact that I received an email each Monday before our pick up to let us know what would be in our shares. I can honestly say this was an awesome experience for Mark and I and we can't wait until 2013 to sign up again!
