The store

We loved Karabin Farms. Everyone was so nice. They directed your parking. I think we only saw some of the animals they have. I read about a petting zoo but didn't see one. It's definitely a different orchard with the meat they sell. The store was a little small. Next time I think I will try a freshly made donut in the donut shack because I did not like the store-bought ones. There is also a snack shack. Other pictures show a pumpkin field, but I didn't ask about directions to get to that. They do have a large variety of pumpkins and mums to choose from. Very pretty! Walk to orchard not bad at all. I liked the closeness of all the varieties. I wish all trees were marked, some were. I will definitely go back!

Great selection for produce, meats and cheese. Such a cool ambiance in the fall , never been during the winter but planning to. I believe one of the farm owners helped us check out but the highlight was one rooster that was following us everywhere. Such a fun experience with one of the best selection of pumpkins that I've seen in Ct!

This place used to be fun. No more hay rides. I guess insurance really does rule the world. High prices for apples I have to walk a mile to the orchard and pick myself. Stay home. It's not worth the trip out anymore. We came here above other places because it was a true experience. A fun event for the family. Save your time and money.

I love everything about Karabin Farms. Every season brings a new reason to visit this place. Great produce, excellent quality meats, Thanksgiving turkeys, Christmas trees and poinsettias, maple syrup, apple-picking, awesome donuts, spring flowers, and a few farm animals for kids to say hello to. Plus I always seem to manage to pick up a few gifts from the store ... mostly for myself :)

Came here on a Sunday to cut a Xmas tree down. My gf and I loved this place.

Mini donuts! Warm and yummy while you're waiting for the tractor to bring you up to the tree cutting area

Picture rows of…read moreapples stretching into the horizon -- the perfect backdrop for those fall golden-hour photos. During my visit, the trees were full of Pink Lady, Evercrisp, Red Delicious, and Empire apples. After tasting these fresh, juicy picks straight from the tree, I don't think I can go back to store-bought apples - not that I really have a choice! Every bite was crisp perfection, and honestly, this might become an annual tradition for me. You can choose from a few bag sizes when you go apple-picking: Large ($40) - labeled at 30 lbs Medium ($25) - labeled at 12-15 lbs Small ($15) - labeled at 7-8 lbs Separate from the orchard, there's a large open field that's perfect for picnics, with plenty of seating and cozy fire pits to keep you warm. It's a beautiful, family-friendly space -- kids running around, birthday celebrations happening, and couples just relaxing in the fall breeze. You don't need to pick apples or pay any additional fees to enjoy this area, which is a big plus. Bring your own chairs if you want extra comfort. There were three food trucks on-site during my visit. My favorite was Pika Food Truck -- their Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was delicious. Chef O's Streatery offered empanadas but they weren't my favourite-- a bit too salty and lacking flavor. We also tried a flight of ciders, which was such a fun way to sample different seasonal flavors. Before you leave, make sure to check out the scenic overlook -- it's stunning, especially with the fall foliage. I loved that they even had a tripod set up for easy photo-taking. Rogers Orchards truly captures everything great about fall -- fresh apples, good food, cozy vibes, and community. They accept cards, which makes checkout super easy.

So here I am back at Rogers Orchard, and it's just beautiful. Fresh vegetables and fruits, recently harvested corn on the cob, specialties, canned goods, apple cider donuts, and the star of the show... The fresh apple cider. If you are anywhere in the area, this is a wonderful stop to browse and impulse buy. Also, the prices are great on all the fruits and vegetables. I managed to pick up some pickled beets, some small pickles, a half dozen apple cider donuts, and of course, for the ride home, a nice cup of the freshly made apple cider. This apple cider was beyond delicious. I knew I should've bought a quart of it. Oh well, this will give me a reason to get back there soon. Bring your camera, as the Rogers Orchards grounds are really nice for a picture taking. The bunnies may be gone, but the memories remembered from the past, memories from today, and memories from the future from visits to Rogers Orchards will always be remembered fondly

It is so nice to see a family farm that is still up and running in this day and age. They used to do pick your own strawberries but not anymore, it really was one of the most amazing experiences to go there and pick fresh berries. This farm is a wonderful place to get plants and flowers in the spring fresh fruits and vegetables in the summer pumpkins in the winter and Christmas trees in the holiday season. It is a true gem run by some of the most amazing and hard-working people you would ever meet in your life. I have spoken with the owners many times and they will go out of their way to assist you and to get specialty items for you from wholesale market that you can't get anywhere else if you so request. We buy all of our flowers for a home here, all of our vegetable throughout the year, beautiful pies for special occasions and they even sometimes sell home grown turkeys in the fall. Everything is homegrown and you absolutely cannot go wrong. For a farm to table fresh experience this is the place in central Connecticut to shop

""Buying food at the farmer's market Stand in a line, people…read moreeverywhere" (Neil Young) We had a very enjoyable visit to the Southington Farmer's Market yesterday. We found it right on the Village Green where the annual Apple Festival starts. Parking was a non-factor, there were spots all over the immediate area and we snagged a prime spot on the corner of Main and Center Streets. Today was the first day they were open for the season, and the market was full of vendors, and everything seemed to be running like a well-oiled machine. We arrived shortly after the 3:00 opening and everything was already fully stocked and set up. The market was perfectly sized. Not too small, not overpoweringly huge, just about perfect. A leisurely stroll through the booths and stands will take around 30-40 minutes, I loved how the booths were adequately spaced apart so there were no logjams or crowds. The only real crowd we encountered was at Wave Hill Breads with a ten-person deep line of drooling customers. We finished our visit with some Wave Hill purchases. Some of the main categories of vendors included fruits, vegetables, pastries, breads, sauces, salsas, jerkies, guacamole, pizzas for one, soaps, flowers, crafts, straw baskets, honeys and syrups. All of those were enjoyed among a backdrop of live music. We picked up a container of great guacamole from Pop's Famous Guacamole, a wonderful jar of salsa from Angela's Kitchen, two adorable "Eight Ball" squashes from one of the produce vendors, and a bag full of goodness from Wave Hill Breads. Our Wave Hill Haul included a delicious eight-inch cheese pizza, a hunk of Three Cheese Monkey bread, and a beautiful Vanilla Citrus Scone. The vendors were all super friendly and chatty, and the whole afternoon had a very nice community/neighbor-like vibe. We loved every aspect of our visit to the Southington Farmer's Market. PRO TIP The Farmer's Market is scheduled for Fridays from 3-6PM at the Southington Town Green, beginning on Friday, June 20th, and ending on September 26th.
