    Off we go!

Dog sledding was so much fun! My only gripe was that we only booked for half an hour. You'll need to provide your own transportation or book a taxi/shuttle to get there, but they provide additional warm clothing if needed. Recommended taxi/shuttle services listed on their website. They request you get their thirty minutes prior to start time to get adequately dressed and to allow for the check in process. We got there with plenty of time. They handed us a buzzer and then when it was our turn, our guide Joe lead us to the dogs and off we went! In between our sled ride, we took a break to meet the dogs, pet them, and ask our guide questions. I'm not a dog person but the dogs were all very friendly. It was cute watching them munch on snow during the break. Apparently, all of the dogs were Joe's own dogs! In addition to dog sledding, they also offer snowmobiling and ice fishing. They have discount packages if you book all three. Can't attest to the other activities, but dog sledding was worth it!

Booked dog sledding on viator, maybe better to call the place to see direct pricing. Requires a bit of a drive, very close to north pole city. Its quite boisterous as the dogs get excited seeing each other in competitive spirit. It seems like they contract individual dog musher teams to conduct the tour which makes me feel good about the sledding. They also have snow mobile tours. Inside they offer gear if needed, however i heavily recommend some sort of hat and face covering and touchscreen gloves as the ride can be freezing. The mushers are friendly and you can tell really love their dogs. They even compete in races and the mushers themselves seem like a family to each other. Once you go in there is a bit of a wait and they will give u a buzzer to let u know when they are ready in case you want to wait in your car. The ride was actually a decent length, i expected it to be like a long wait and maybe a 10 minute ride, but it actually seemed close to the 30. We sat 2 people in one sled and 1 in the other. Overall I'd recommend it if you'd like a unique experience. Only wish I got to spend more time with the dogs and interact more/pictures.

Great outfit to book an afternoon dogsled or snowmobile ride. Professional, organized, well outfitted and equipped with excellent guides. Highly recommend if you're in Fairbanks.

    Aurora lights, AWESOME

The Snowmobile tour with Josh, the dog sledding with Dek and ice fishing/Aurora lights with Jay were all exhilarating, Josh and Jay took us on some beautiful trails. Something about the snow made it magical. I can appreciate Josh for continuously checking on everyone..I can also appreciate the thorough brief on how to operate the snowmobile . .. I appreciate Musher Dek for enlightening me about sled team, that ride I will never forget. Jay kept it very interesting and educational with his experiences as a fisherman and musher. The deer sausage was good as well great pictures of the Aurora lights. Though I did not catch anything but this whole trip was planned around ice fishing for my birthday and I wouldn't change a thing . 10/10 The staff was definitely on it, with observing each person attire and providing us with extremely better PPE. The hot chocolate station and restrooms were emaculant, thank you Cat/ Kat...

Our dogsled tour with Deke and his dogs was fantastic! We learned so much about the dogs and the sledding. Everything went smoothly.

    Joe's mush team

Our time and money was spent well for our snowmobiling time! We had first class service from our greeting, checkin, trial run around a course before jetting off on the trails lead by Josh! The trail was smooth and landscape beautiful! We were safe as we took up speeds of our own comfort! You don't regret this coming to this outfit!!!

Our group of 7 booked the 1 hour snowmobiling and had a blast. The guys were very professional and knowledgeable to ensure we had a great experience. The only downfall was that you get to maneuver the snowmobile by pushing a button with your thumb and that makes your thumb go numb after straight driving. I had to stop a few times to release the pressure. The best part was when we were riding in the open field and everyone can drive fast as hell. Super fun and thrilling. Love every minute of it.

Simple | Comprehensive | Fun Simple - The setup at Rod's is really easy. You can call or schedule your group online. They have everything you need at the facility, from gloves to gators, coats, and boots. All you need to do is come with yourself, and they take care of the rest. Comprehensive - they have a lot of options for any group. We did dog-sledding and snowmobiling. We showed up at 1100 for an 1130 Dog Sled tour which lasted 30 minutes. We warmed up for 5-10 minutes and immediately transitioned into snowmobiling for an hour. They did a 5-minute tutorial on how to operate the various features of the snowmobile. Notably, they have hand warmers, and the helmets are heated. We then did 3-5 minutes on their practice course to get comfortable with the machine. Then we were off and running for about 50 minutes. Fun - Overall, the place is extremely fun. The entire staff is upbeat and willing to help ensure your group has a fantastic time. We were able to push our snowmobiles to the max. Also, the staff was willing to take pictures for us. Pro Tip: For your dog sled experience, ask for Joe Weber - we had him for our tour, and he was great. Answered all of our questions and explained the art/science of the activity. He gave us a first-rate experience. Pro Tip: For your snowmobile experience, ask for Victoria Forrester. We had her for our tour. She was great. Super chill but, at the same time, set a standard for what would and would not be tolerated. Also - she gave us space and time to really push the snowmobiles to the max. I got mine up to 46 MPH. She gave us a first-rate experience as well. Pro Tip: Show 30 minutes before your scheduled time. You will need to sign some waviers, put the gear on, and potentially add other activities to your experience.

We did the ice fishing. Our guide Mike was so friendly, helpful and made the experience for some southern Californians and truly memorable experience. The tent was very comfortable and our guide cooked up our biggest catches, it was yummy. Prior to arrival, the staff, including the owner Rod were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommended them. They also do snow mobiling and dog sledding.

This was so much fun!! We booked our reservation online and we're told to arrive 30 minutes prior to our snow machine tour. After we showed up we were greeted by a very friendly woman at the counter who walked us through the waivers (you must sign in order to participate and there are no insurance options so definitely use at your own risk!!!) and asked us to take a seat on the benches. We were greeted by another friendly woman who helped us with sizing for the provided winter gear. Once we were geared up we were greeted by Victoria. Victoria is a BADASS. She was one of the highlights on our trip to Fairbanks as far as staff is concerned. She took us over to the snow machines, took us through a very detailed (but short) orientation on how to operate the snow machines before letting us mount the machines for the practice course. You will do about 4-5 laps around the practice course (just a circle) before you take off on the trail. The rest of the tour lasted about 55 minutes to 1 hour. You are guided through a beautiful forest of trees and nature. Some of the paths get tight so make sure you're comfortable on the snow machine. We did stop at one point because we saw a baby moose and then we stopped again by the frozen river for a photo opportunity. Once we got back to the open valley we were able to open up the snow machines and get some speed going. So much fun!!!! Can't recommend this tour any more and if you can request a guide then ask for Victoria!!

This is the go to service for any tours in Fairbanks! The guides and staff were welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. We participated and in the dog sledding tour and we had fun. The gear provided was very comfortable and suitable for the environment, thanks Terri!

Thank you Rod's Alaskan Guide Service for amazing experiences in Alaska. Me friends and I did dog sledding, drove snow mobiles and went to night ice fishing and everything was unforgettable. I loved dog sledding, they take you to a very beautiful views and provide you warm clothes so you can stay warm. Snow mobile driving was a fun experience, you drive thru forests, lakes and so on. Also you can book a day long tour on snow mobiles, but we didn't have a chance to do that, because we were leaving soon. But next time we sure will do it. Night Ice fishing was cool, it was my first time. You sit in small cabin on frozen lake and do fishing through holes on the floor. We caught rainbow trout and salmon. They said they work whole year and have a list of entertainments for summer time as well. If you want to feel Alaska-contact these guys and they will make sure you will have memories from Alaska. The service was wonderful. We booked the 30-minute (2-mile) sled ride, and wow, you can tell these dogs truly enjoy what they do! Check-in was a breeze; they gave us clear safety instructions and explained the history behind the kennel. They even lent us heavy-duty gloves for the cold. Our musher was fantastic, sharing curious anecdotes about the dogs throughout the ride. We stopped at the 1-mile mark for some stunning photos, and at the end, we got to pet and cuddle the dogs, it was amazing! To top it off, they welcomed us back with hot coffee and freshly baked cookies. I felt so well taken care of by the staff. Highly recommended!
