I had to get the supervisor involved and wrote internal complaints about the behavior of nurse(s), one in particular by the name of Angelina M. She is very unprofessional and borderline abusive. She is probably doing even more disgusting things when noone is around. There are others that behaved badly but unfortunately I wasnt there to witness it all. 2 stars because I hope this sticks. I've been calling multiple times the last couple months and no one has been able to give me an explanation or clear this up. BUYER BEWARE!! This hospital will take all your money unless you have MediCal or a secondary. They do NOT warn you that they have an 'arrangement' with Medicare that allows them to accept a lower payment from your Medicare, but then they can bill you 20% of THE ENTIRE BILLED (not allowed) AMOUNT. We expected Medicare to cover 80% of the allowed amount for my elderly husband's surgery and we would pay 20%, as has been the case for previous surgeries he's had. Instead we paid thousands more than Medicare paid. Like, what we were expecting to pay for the new car we now can't afford. And when we called repeatedly to talk to the finance department, they never returned ANY of our calls. In my opinion, this hospital is preying on elders. Their doctors are great. My name is Ashley Harris. I have been using the Fairchild hospital for needed service for 32 years now, and yesterday I had a visit with the imaging department to get an ultrasound done. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant, and this is my 5th pregnancy. Out of all of my pregnancies and out of all of the ultrasound/sonogram experiences I have ever encountered with all 5 of my pregnancies, yesterday the ultrasound/sonogram that was done, Monday the 9th at 2:30 pm, was the very first experience that I have ever encountered that left me completely devastated and shocked with how rude/inconsiderate/ and aggressive the ultrasound technician was. She was completely harsh when probing my belly with the sonogram wand, she kept digging the probe harder and harder into my abdomen until I felt nothing but direct pain and uncomfort. She did this the entire 45 minutes of the ultrasound. Not only was this one of the issues, but this woman was a complete rude inappropriate (may I say) actual jerk to my family and i. I brought my fiance and my 4 year old daughter to the appointment. And I was extremely mindful of how these appointment go, due to the amount of previous experiences I already possess, and my 4 year old daughter was very very appropriate during this appointment, being extremely polite and quiet, and patient. I was very proud actually, but the entire time that this ultrasound was getting done, my daughter was watching the sonogram and was whispering to me about the baby and just being her little 4 year old self, but the ultrasound technician really pissed me off because she blatantly called my 4 year old baby loud, in a really disrespectful tone and even though my daughter is little, and didn't notice the criticism, well I did notice it and I got instantly offended. So did my fiance'. I was actually blown away that she had the nerve to make that snide remark to a baby and my daughter was being more than appropriate with how patient she was being and she was actually really quiet. She not once got out of line. But this partnered with the aggressiveness of how she dug the sonogram wand into my ribs and guts, I was just completely shocked. I've never in my entire life, with all my pregnancies, have EVER been so disgusted with how my daughter and I were treated! She was the rudest imaging tech they I have personally encountered. I am honestly just disgusted with the experience and I'm going to do everything that I can to enlighten as many as I can about my experience, and I actually might have my future ultrasound's sent to Mercy hospital in mt Shasta even though it's way out of my way and more than 25+ miles out of my way, and I can't afford doing that to be quite honest, because I'm not financially fit at the moment. But I guarantee that I will avoid that department and hospital like the plague, now that I had this experience. I'm also going to do everything I can to leave as many local reviews, on every social media sites that I have access to and make the public aware of this. I will literally NEVER forget this experience and that's not a good thing in my eyes. She said her name was Matea'. That's all I know about this tech. My wife and I have lived in Yreka for 2 years now. We love Fairchild so far. Every department we've been to has been great. We've been to a couple specialists, and Emergency (just once fortunately). Everyone seems kind, polite and thorough. We love getting most lab results the same day (via MyChart). The lab team has always been very sweet and nice to us. Coming from a major metropolitan area, the wait times are much shorter and the staff is friendlier by comparison. I think the biggest challenge for Fairchild is being able to continue to attract talent away from the big cities. I know they have many job openings posted constantly. read more

Like most folks, I tend to review the extremes of experiences, leaning more toward the bad ones. Thought I'd boost the trend the other way. My ER experience was awesome, in as far as a trip to the ER can be. Was going to try and mention all by name, but too many and I was in too much pain. Dr. Hall was great as was every single person who I met. In and out in record time, including a CAT scan and spine injection worked in between the regular scheduled patients. This, in spite of the fact, they were busy. Very busy. All very professional and friendly. Kudos to all, and I hope you all get some appreciation from HR. Hope NOT to need your services anytime soon, but if the need arises, you'll be my first choice. Thanks for everything. read more

I've never even been to this hospital but yet I'm getting a $1300 bill that was sent to my parents house which I haven't lived there for last 14 years and they want to send this bill off to collections. Also, someone's else's insurance was billed. What a waste of my time. No return phone calls or follow up for something that isn't even mine. This hospital and clinic have been Excellent. I have brought 6 different medical issues up to them and regarding all of them, I have received Best In Class service. That being said, just like with All things in life lately. You must Advocate For Yourself. Don't Assume call backs, though I haven't had any issues yet. I Always follow up. They use the Epic MyChart system which has a phone app for Everything. This medical center is also really good on calling you with cancellations. I've found it easy to get appointments sooner than my regular scheduling because the patients in our community sure do seem to cancel Alot. Many without a prior call to the hospital. If you want a sooner appointment, Always ask to be pit on their cancellation list. They can also see the appointments that You missed and if You aren't being a good patient, attending and doing what they recommend...then You will not have a good experience here. If You are not on time for your appointment, no matter what your excuse is, which I'm sure us a very real and good one. Please understand that you have now caused a ripple effect for all of the appointments that day that will occur after you. Be considerate. If You are concerned about anissue that you are having, don't just say.. blah,blah,blah.. Ask them to send you for the appropriate labs. Etc. You are in charge of your own medical care here. If you are organized with what you tell them and bring to them, then in turn you will get Excellent, effective care. Don't walk away from an appointment feeling some kind of way, speak up for yourself when you are with the service provider and follow up! Also, they actually perform action on, read and improve care based on the post visit surveys. Do the surveys people!!! If you don't tell them of a problem, how will they know about it? Then after that you waste even more time leaving them a chappy review. Be proactive for yourself and they will give you Excellent results here. :) read more

I had excision surgery for endometriosis. Dr. Erin Conroy failed to bring me relief through surgery and I was left with permanent leg twitching and pain going to the bathroom that I didn't have before surgery. She also placed a birth control rod in my arm wrong. It caused permanent nerve damage and gave me chest pain and trouble breathing, not to mention the horrific bruise. I had to have it removed at the ER. I would not recommend her and I would never see her again. She is also impossible to understand and does not answer any questions in a way you can understand. She uses a lot of technical terms and talks in circles. read more

About the worst place to go if you are looking for help with a medical issue. Dr. Wynn is the most unprofessional "professional" I have ever encountered. The "Dr?" was almost in tears and threw a crybaby tantrum slapping the counter and being very rude after I cancelled an appt he set up with a specialist that I saw previously that was clueless on my condition. He also did not want to listen to my thoughts and told me I was interfering with his treatment even though he was clueless. He went on to whining about how he would have to type some information into the system. A total clueless jerk that needs to avoided if you want real care. After nine months he was and is still clueless and I got a letter he wont treat me anymore. Considering a lawyer and lawsuit. Go to Shasta or Medford Oregon for real treatment. read more

Fairchild wonders why their ER is inundated with complaints that are minor and can be taken care of by a primary care physician? Well they need to look at their own clinic, which provides care to the Vast Majority of Northern Siskiyou County. Today is a Friday and I called in to try and get my sister some help from her physician, only to be told that there are NO primary care employees who work on Fridays. SERIOUSLY?! This has got to be a joke. When you are the largest conglomerate in N. Siskiyou County, "providing care" (yes it's in quotations because I use providing care very loosely, as they are not readily available) to the community, you should be open 5 days per week. So instead of my sister getting the care she needs, in a timely and efficient manner, she now has to go through a 3 day weekend without relief for an issue that could easily be handled by an Rx (I know her extensive medical history so I know the antibiotic would work and she doesn't need to go to the ER because it is not an EMERGENCY) of antibiotics, instead of having this issue spiral out of control, causing worsening symptoms for her overall nervous system and making her in pain for 3 days. On top of the clinic being closed every friday for primary care, her regular physician is not there regularly. When you call in, you frequently get told, "oh this is the Tuesday he is off, or I'm sorry he's out this wednesday, or he's off monday, etc. Etc". Well that's helpful.... a physician who takes more time off in a year than actually providing care. WAKE UP FAIRCHILD! Stop being the joke of the community for medical care. You want your issues to get better? Look within yourselves, because YOU. ARE. THE. PROBLEM! Not the community, not, lack of resources...YOU as a facility. Make your doctors work, regularly, and if you want to have "Fridays off", alternate physicians/ PAs/ NPs so that way your community members don't have to utilize the ER for non-emergency cases. That would solve many problems. It would also lighten the load of cases in your ER-leaving it open to EMERGENCIES, letting your staff be a bit happier because they won't have to be acting as clinic nurses(not a bad thing I respect and love clinic nurses, but ER nurses go into ER for the adrenaline, and fast-paced environment, not to deal with chronic/ongoing life-time issues) and could be ER nurses again, and it would make your ER docs/NPs/PAs not get lazy and misdiagnose patients because they are tainted and burnt out from the NON-EMERGENT cases! read more

My 86 year old mother recently fell & broke her hip. I know this hospital has had some complaints in the past, and my dad & sister were concerned since Covid19 kept them from being in the ER or hospital with her; a rule we had no argument with considering the risks. As her oldest daughter & a retired RN I did most of the communication via phone, from many miles away. I spoke with the orthopedist, Dr. Ure, that NP-Anesthesiologist, and the nursing staff several times; each was professional, knowledgeable, pleasant & helpful. My mother also expressed her high degree of satisfaction with the care she received. I wasn't able to be present in the hospital itself, but I have nothing but praise for her care; with special thanks to her nurses & the discharge planner. read more

I also contacted state board and they couldnt do anything about it because they didnt have enough evidence on the case. However, this shows to everyone that had read my review that they deleted it and dont want to be exposed! I went into the emergency room at Fairchild last night with unusual cramping to get an ultrasound to make sure my 5 week along pregnancy was progressing properly and was not an ectopic pregnancy. The attending physician, Hundal Kuljit, didn't listen to me after he would ask me specific questions numerous times. After expressing that my pain was mild and I did not need pain medication, he ordered the nurse to give me an IV with MORPHINE! Hello? NO THANKS, and im PREGNANT. (makes you wonder where all these pill addicts come from) He proceeded to then tell me that I had "no heart beat activity" on the ultrasound, and that im likely to be "dealing with fetal demise". Since im educated in the subject apparently more than he is, I informed him that you cannot detect a heart beat on the ultrasound at only 5 weeks gestation, he then agreed that that was true. This was after he told me blood work showed me to have the right quantities of the pregnancy hormone, HGC, in my blood, which a sigh of a live and healthy pregnancy. Tell me my kid is possibly dead, when my HGC is right and you can't see a heart beat so soon anyways? WOW! After being there for 7 hours I finally left, but not without them trying to write me a prescription for Tylenol with codeine. I said "no thanks", nurse says, "are you sure?" twice, and then tried to send me with the prescription, "just in case you change your mind." I gave her a 3rd and firm, "NO THANKS!!" Im not going to even start on the non-sense the ultrasound tech was telling me, again, someone talking about a subject they have no idea about. My experience there was, they really want to give you (hard) drugs, and they assume that you are a total helpless idiot, who knows noting about your own health (or even cares about your health,or the health of your developing child). read more

most disorganized clinic I have ever been too... been waiting for over 2 months for an EEG, they said to wait for the hospital to call, they never did, told them multiple times but they kept telling me to just wait another week. I even called the hospital and I never got a callback. It was the clinics fault the whole time they put the order in wrong kept telling me it was for the hospital, but they put it in as the clinic so when I finally tried to take matters into my own hands and go over to the hospital to get it done I couldn't because they had the order in wrong, they like to point fingers at everybody else but it's really their fault the whole time Dr. Chantel Jolene sucks she does not follow through with her patients. She acts like she cares while you're crying in front of her but forget about you once you leave so she doesn't follow up with shit like she supposed to and medicine, referrals and everything take a week or longer. The date is 2/5/21 i arrived at Fairchild medical emergency room at 1pm for a severe case of asthma, and was having a panic attack because I couldn't breathe. Dr. Fredric Piciotto was the M.D. on call when he saw me for my preliminary assessment as I told Dr. Piciotto that I couldn't breathe he looked me in my eyes and told me i was being a "drama queen" and that I was stupid for going to work with asthma. The nurses then put me back in the waiting room till 5pm. I was never seen again they brought in other people instead of me when i couldn't breathe. After my asthma attack stopped I called my father for a ride home. I've never been so insulted by a medical "professional" in my life if there is a number i can call to file a complaint please let me know! I went to the ER with extreme pain in my upper thigh. If I sit for any length of time I am not able to put any weight on it. Once I get help standing up after walking for about 10 minutes the pain subsides. Then if I am careful to not turn it or use it with with a cane I am ok until I sit or lay down. Yesterday I could not get out of bed without assistance. The pain gets so extreme when moving from a sitting or lying down position that I decided to go to the ER. The nurse took my information then asked me "what are you here for ? " I want to find out what's wrong with me. I am placed in the very small room that has a chair and monitor in it. After he asks me what's going on he replys...."What do you want to be done?" I stated that I want to know what's wrong with me...then I asked if an exray or blood tests would show anything. He said "well if you didn't fall down then exrays wont show anything...maybe some arthritus....and you are walking so nothing is broke but if you want I can have an exray taken"..I asked what about a blood clot...he says "a blood clot hurts in the calf ... not in the thigh....you need a specialist. Do you want an exray?" I said yes then sat there in that small room thinking of how the dr acted and thinking he is getting paid to treat me rude and be a complete asshole. I decided to leave. Being upset with a doctor's bedside manners is too much on top of being in pain. read more
