I work there as an RN. I've been a traveler and worked at many different facilities all o er the country. I find Fairfax to be the most caring and treat the patients with respect more than any other place I have worked. The issue with people voluntarily admitting themselves is they do not know nor realize that you can't just leave whenever you want. The public are not educated on that and then think they are being held against their will. There is a third party person that come in and assess the pt and seems them ok to go home or not. Fairfax staff do not make that decision. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE FOR A DRUG RELATED ISSUE.(LONG POST) My husband checked in to this place to detox . I was told I could call to get an update on his condition daily so I called after he was in there for a day. The nurse answered sounding like she didn't understand why I was calling and she said he was fine no updates. My husband had put on his contact list someone that was an enabler for his addiction. As his wife I was listed as a main contact with full access to his file there. He planned to go to a year program straight after detox however the dates for a bed was pushed back during his stay there. The day before his discharge I told the nurse to please have the doctor and case manager call me . My husband and I wanted to see if he could possibly extend his detox time there or be moved to the behavioral health area. I live separate from my husband due to his addiction and he was homeless. But lived on and off an enabler and person that did not support his sobriety . He expressed to me he did not want to go back due to the environment that would not be safe for him to go and had nowhere to go if he didn't go back. So the next day came and I never got a call from the doctor or case manager to discuss that situation . My husband said they were going to discharge him to go back to the enablers home. Last minute the treatment center contacted me and were able to get him a bed for the year program the same day.my husband had been taking suboxin there and the year long treatment center did not want him to continue on it when he got there. He was only on it for 5 days so they said we could support him in every way with the weaning off process. I called to let my husband know they could take him and 3 way called with the director of the treatment program he was going to enter, and got my husband on the phone . After explaining the situation to him my husband was still interested in pursuing moving forward. He said he has to talk to discharge nurse and his case worker . We were listening as he asked and the case worker yelled out they want to take you off suboxon! We talked about this she discouraged him from going into treatment made him talk to her and get off the phone with us . My husband never called back and now they let a addict out there to possibly overdose . These people actually persuaded my husband from getting TREATMENT! This is insane and now we have to wait and see what happens . This place is very unprofessional and missed the ball big time with this one. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR ADDICTION help there are plenty other places in Seattle that actually want to help people get the help they need. read more

I was admitted on a voluntary basis to this facility on Friday March 27, 2026. I reiterate Voluntarily. It was suggested that I go to rest and recover after what my husband and ER doctors decided was a manic episode. Prior to agreeing to be admitted I was given a mood stabilizer at the ER, Once that medication took effect, I was calm and clear and knew what triggers had initiated my so called "manic" episode. I should have not allowed myself to be admitted, and I will forever regret my compliance with the request. I was transferred via ambulance (because I did not have insurance and the only way to get my incarceration paid for) was to arrive via ambulance. My husband followed in his car as he was under the impression that he would be able to assist me getting settled, look at the facility and feel comfortable with the decision. He was not allowed into the facility and additionally, had to argue to say a 1-minute goodbye to me while I lay on a gurney. I was taken into a prison like setting, asked to strip, show the bottom of my feet, lift up my breasts for examination and bend over and spread my butt cheeks. Yes, it was a female transport agent (not a nurse nor professional care giver) , but a man stood on the other side of the door and potentially could see me. Imagine how that would feel to a woman who just remembered being raped as a young adult. Hence the manic episode. From there things got worse. I was physically handled, hugged, screamed at by patients and my roommate who were experiencing their own mental health crisis. This was clearly not the type of environment for my recovery that we were told. There was no consistent nor daily access to fresh air nor having a moment outside. When my husband complained (because the recording and brochure stated this was normal daily life as a patient), he was told outside time is only given when 5 or more patients (prisoners) wanted to go outside and also only when there was enough staff to take the prisoners outside. I was denied the Priveledge of breathing fresh air for 3 days. Once allowed, I was escorted outside, into a web of locking doors and gates and barbed wire, designed to keep people from escaping I was told when I inquired. The incidents of horrible care, food, healthy climate for healing was absent. I have a significant number of stories to support this in my brief time there. If you can avoid it do not go to this hospital, do not send your children to this hospital, I experienced severe medical neglect i would've died there if I didn't get out when I did, there is no structure, the staff won't believe you if you have a problem. Patients just sleep all day there's no type of peer support available and none of the techs seems to care . If you need care I would start with your own doctors first. This is also a for profit organization for people who care about that . I had to see the state to get released i really would recommend dealing with all your psych issues through your own doctors . Inhumane barbaric and people should have a lawyer if you go to this hospital my wife tried to call the hospital and they hung up on her !!! And wouldn't update her on my status. I also tried to shower and was told to use soap from the sink when none was available in the shower. I was an adult involuntary inpatient at Fairfax. I was very sick. It is a secure facility, not a spa or resort. I remember it being unpleasant and a bit like a jail. My room was locked at night. The food was good. The staff was pleasant and skilled. Once my medication was stabilized, I was discharged to an outpatient program. Fairfax is very good at what they do--providing a secure facility for patients who need a high level of security and structure. I was an involuntary patient so I only know that they made me well and put me in touch with resources that would continue to help me. read more

Good morning, This is my fourth attempt trying to get medical records for my daughter. My daughter discharged on 12/11/2024 and prior to I have sent 3 emails requesting MARS and TARS including diagnosis and prognosis. I have left 4 voice messages days apart and have not received a response from any employee at Fairfax hospital. This is my daughters first time being hospitalized. It took us four years to get in a position for her to receive medical help because she would refuse to see a doctor for any reason. If not for the Crisis Line helping to navigate, we wouldn't have gotten this far. To say it has been a strain on our family and overwhelming is an understatement. There are only two of us in our family that is trying to help. We are trying to keep her on a path that will help my daughter. We are near burn out with helping her and Fairfax not providing medical records, not responding to phone calls or emails contributes to caregiver burn out. It also impedes the outcome of a patient's success. Not being familiar with hospitalization of someone with mental health directly, and learning how to navigate the process without communication from providers at Fairfax contributes to caregiver burn out. For a greater success in patients discharging from a hospital, it is pertinent to have supportive family involved. Family contact is not for Fairfax to discharge patients at a quicker rate but to reduce the recidivism rate of patients. As a family, we are trying to be supportive and partner with anyone who is willing to help. Fairfax is setting up my daughter to fail when they ignore families request for information. Fairfax fails families and the patient when they don't provide information don't communicate effectively. Fairfax fails when they don't provide patients with needed information when they discharge. Not responding to emails and voice messages set my daughter at a deficit when she discharged. I work and her sister works. If we don't receive necessary information that is easily obtainable, it effects our livelihood and my daughter's. It is a trickledown effect that starts at Fairfax. Somewhere in your organization, you have set the tone that mediocre services and discharging patients to fail is best practice. I have observed it and experienced it from your Discharge Planners to the person who greets you inside the hospital. In the past, I held Fairfax Hospital in high regards because of my experience working with client's who have applied for SSI. I no longer view the same sentiment. I am a professional who works with disabled adults and even I am struggling navigating this process and communicating with Fairfax. I can only imagine how the unexperienced novice navigates this process. I sent another email asking for medical records and I can bet money there won't be a response since she has now discharged. They will likely send me to the process of requesting medical records when they could have emailed me the records or given them to her at time of discharge. Not having medical records is going to delay her application for DSHS and SSI. This will also effect her housing which I am trying to save. Most people who are mentally ill not receiving services are homeless. My daughter has an apartment so she is three steps ahead. I joined a group at Fairfax Recovery in Bellevue WA in Oct 2024. It's their IOP program. In a few simple words it has been life changing for me. My addiction to alcohol has been with me since the mid 30's. It was always a way to drown my sorrows and the deep life long depression I had. It numbed me to my deep buried insecurity and pain, caused by so many co-occurring traumas throughout my life. I am now just shy of 61. This program focused on behavioral health and guides you through self discovery. The leaders are none judgmental when you slip (almost everyone including myself in my group has) and fully support you in just getting back on the wagon. The group at this point is FULL of women only, including the leader Lindzie. She is freakin AMAZING. She is smart, kind, strong, centered, and knows her shit. She is providing ALL the tools one needs to recover in a fun, joyful, safe space and the healing in me has been PROFOUND. The Info is unparalleled, and like nothing I have found in my previous attempts at sobriety. The group is none judgmental and WE have created a safe space for ALL of us to heal the ties that bind us to our addictions. Brian is the other leader. He hired Lindzey, and he too is extraordinary. I just can't say enough about this program, even the front desk woman (Deanna? I am SO bad with names!) is kind, friendly and extraordinary helpful! I felt more traumatized being here for 8 days. The food is good but the place is extremely loud. Loud staff. The yoga was good and the guy with the stretching. Weekends are totally unstructured. Short staffed. The nurses and front desk folks are ok. A lot of chaos. Good for people unhoused or a place to be before they can get into rehab. I'd rather never go here again. Ever. Scary. This place is dreadful and horrible, i had to stay here as an inpatient when i was in psychosis and they only made my situation worse and were laughing at me while i was in psychosis. They had weird posters all over the walls, my room had a picture of a woman crying and outside my room there was a picture of some weird face holding a snickers bar but instead of snickers it said "loopy" like they were making fun of the people they put meds on. They drugged me with a bunch of meds i didnt need to be on, including alprazolam which is basically xanax just because i was shaking my leg a little. The kept me there against my will and barely let my relatives talk to me over the phone, most of the time they couldn't get through to me. This place is just god awful and its a prison. read more

Truly a traumatizing experience. Upon admittance, a nurse named Haben told me I wasn't allowed to wear the ER socks I came in with because they were the wrong color, but Fairfax was out of socks? Other patients had personal socks of all colors but the SHORT WHITE GRIPPY HOSPITAL SOCKS I came in with were unacceptable to wear??? After communicating my discomfort at being sockless to other members of staff for two days they all said Haben was incorrect and appeared confused at her behavior. I felt I wasn't being taken seriously by most staff because of my status as a patient until I broke down and cried. My room was exceptionally dirty, there was urine on the floor and there was still belongings from several previous patients strewed around the room. I requested to speak with a case manager Taanvi daily but she didn't even respond to my request until the day before I was discharged. My family repeatedly called the front desk and they did not pick up. When I complained about this a staff member said "well that's why we don't want patients to be using both phones because then calls don't come through," however, he made absolutely no attempt to keep both lines from being in use. Finally, my roommate in room 906 was suffering dramatically from what I thought was a stroke at the time, but after speaking with several professionals after discharge turned out to be Tardive dyskinesia. She was in need of serious medical attention but was disregarded by most staff even after I made a formal complaint. The nurse who wouldn't allow me to have socks - Haben, belittled her for her change in condition. Overall, this experience was inhumane. read more

They abused me here for weeks. I was tackled and injected forcefully on five different occasions that I counted. I was in psychosis so I could not dress myself on one occasion. A nurse just watched me struggle for an hour. She looked at me in utter disgust and refused to help me. I still cry about what I experienced. Not only was I in a very scary mental state, but I was in the worst hospital around. Where staff abused me. They closed down the children's ward, it's time for this hell hole to close too. read more

Former employee on the detox unit. this place was not a good place to work for nurses. I worked there 2 years. The doctors were nasty, condescending to nurses especially DrAdams. I wouldn't wish bad on anyone but this guy will deserve anything nasty that will happen to him. the Administration is very poor. I got very scared once cause they hired one young inexperienced nurse that gave a big dose of two CNS depressants to a patient at the same time and we had to call an ambulance for her. Fairfax is literally throwing me to live on the street. If you consider Fairfax to get mental help, please find something else. They forget about you the moment they get a check. I have been struggling to get a hold of my medical records for weeks with no luck. Faxes, emails, in person requests did not help. Alyssa has never reached back. My life and ability to have home literally depends on them, and they do not bother doing anything. Staff was okay. I was in partial hospitalisation. Dr Diaconu gave me diagnosis within 5 minutes of meeting me (it was incorrect, and I am trying another medication now, but it happened with few other psychiatrists already, so typical). Therapy consisted of clinicians reading internet articles on mental health out loud for ~5 hours a day which was sorta helpful. Game hours on Wednesdays were pretty fun, too. Dealing with this place after discharging would make sane person insane. I do not know why I went there without reading reviews first. Please do not admit yourself or your loved ones here. I was admitted here against my will and stayed for a MONTH because of the SEVEN different medications they put me on that kept me in a state of paranoia (I literally started feeling normal again the day I stopped taking my anti psychotic, a few weeks after I was discharged- against their advice). I don't even understand how I could be prescribed these medications; the doctor spoke to me for maybe a minute and just started writing them up left and right. The only healing part of my time there was a couple times a week for about 30 minutes we would have a group therapist come and color with us or other crafts meant for children. About 3 times a day we had "group time" where someone who was working (not any kind of therapist, just a tech) would have us go to a room and tell us the names of the staff members who were working that day and sometimes they would mention who had court that day. I never understood how anything worked because they didn't explain the process and I was too scared to question what was going on. They would let us outside for 15 minute increments about 3 times a day, but I rarely went because I was so cold and they wouldn't lend me a jacket despite me asking several times (other patients had jackets and regular clothes, but myself and others were only allowed to wear scrubs...no idea why). Besides that, all there was to do was watch MTV music videos, eat and sleep. I didn't have my contacts so I couldn't see and didn't bother trying to watch music videos. I just ate and slept. I had 4 people tell me after I got out, that they called the facility to check on me, as visitors were not allowed. The staff told my loved ones that they would give me the message and simply did not. My dad called so many times that they finally gave me a message and I was able to talk to him, but that was after 3 weeks of no communication with anyone. My time there really traumatised me and I know without a shadow of a doubt that going there was the worst thing for me. I don't know what other mental health facilities are like, but make sure if you need a place to go, at the very least they have one on one counselling. read more

Of course we were all reassured that reviews are written by people who are mentally ill and the facts are exaggerated. This place is extremely understaffed. MHTs are not fully trained/Underpaid. You receive training that most of the employees there don't follow or implement. Patients who are escalating (and present a danger to themselves or others) are essentially left to escalate until they physically attack someone. I have been a voluntary patient at Fairfax 2 times once in 2016 and once in 2019. I am still experiencing distress from both of my stays with them. I did to complain after I asked for records and only received the records from my second stay. Two years later my provider asked for records from the first hospitalization but they said they had no record. I finally wrote a review and was contacted by somebody from Fairfax he said he would get back to me and never did. They still claim they don't have a record of my 14 days there. They are gaslighting me. I had an LRO that I violated immediately and eventually was admitted to another facility and taken to be court. I feel extremely angry about the lies. They lost my records because they failed to follow their mission statement and tried to get me to agree to remain there for an additional 2 weeks to get a pet scan and refused to give me a referral claiming there was no reason I couldn't ask for this by my Dr. Mental illness prevents clients from being taken seriously and I struggle and everyday for 7 years . It went from hope and the most hope I ever felt to never having hope at all. Nobody cares about emotional abuse and I have tried to get the state to investigate them. They have a history of not providing services claimed and other violations in 7 states. Stay away from this "help". read more

I wrote a Google review but it seems they deleted them. I can only speak for my stays in 2016 and 2018. To;Dr: find a better program, you deserve better. If you don't want to be trapped with angry explosive people and uncaring staff, find another facility or program. ALSO YOU HAVE TO SLEEP ON UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS WITH THE DOORS OPEN SO YOU CAN SEE THE HALLWAY LIGHTS AND HEAR THE NIGHT STAFF AS THEY CHECK YOUR ROOM EVERY HOUR. But, to be fair, they give you eye covers and ear plugs. They don't seem to care about the effects of sleep on mental health. My experience: I was admitted as a voluntary patient seeking help for suicidal ideation. I was placed with other voluntary patients as well as involuntary patients. Involuntary patients tend to be people who are court ordered to be there. The problem with this is that they can't really get kicked out unless they really cause problems. However, it means that they are incredibly angry and are not focused on recovery, while half the other patients are. So you have patients struggling with anything from anxiety, depression, addiction, suicidal ideation, mixed together with people who have angry outbursts and staff that don't know how to manage them. My first stay there was a guy who kept trying to start fights with people. The staff then tried to put him in a room with the person he kept fighting with. Everyone suspected it was because the staff didn't like either of them or because one of the nurses thought it would be funny to mess with them. It was immediately fixed but it just goes to show that they are either incompetent or are willing to mess with people seeking help with their mental health issues. The second time I stayed I needed treatment and didn't have many other options so I stayed again, thinking that things would be better. They were significantly worse. There was a woman there that screamed at staff and humiliated other patients. She constantly insulted other patients, complained very loudly about all the ways she was abused, got in people's faces, yelled at the staff, and that was my whole stay for a week. The staff couldn't do anything about it so she got to sit in on groups and say whatever she wanted to other patients while they opened up about their struggles. Because of issues I'd had in my past being around her was incredibly triggering, and I threw up during my whole stay. I kept wanting to leave but the case manager laughed and said I needed to work on healing. You're minimum stay as a voluntary patient is a week, don't bother trying to get out sooner. You're labeled as a danger to yourself or others and they want you to stay that whole time, at least, just so they can "monitor" you and "help" you with your mental health. Also, doctors are the ones who decide how long you stay and they're not there on weekends and holidays. You have to be cleared by Dr and case worker. Half the staff are genuine, the other half feel the need to put you in your place. If you're going because you are in a bad place, this place will do 2 things, make sure you're "safe" and make you beg to go home. I met people there that would have rather gone back to their abusive households. read more

I was in an urgent situation and they did not take me seriously. She made snooty remarks when I was having trouble answering her questions perfectly due to my anxiety. Numerous family members tried speaking with her on numerous occasions including myself and were unable to reach her, my grandparents spent over 2 hours on hold and eventually had to just hang up. An absolute nightmare. I was there involuntarily but wanted to be treated. Instead I was nearly assaulted on day one and then forced to move to another unit. On that unit I had 4 or 5 people trying to mess with me. I reported it to the staff and nothing was done. Finally, a nice employee named Cynthia provided me a security report. I filled it out and was moved again. Each unit there were people yelling and screaming, constant drama. All of this was making my symptoms worse. I was released after 11 days and it felt like I had been in jail the whole time. Most of the staff are unprofessional. Not all, Cynthia was a shining example of a professional employee. I was sent to fairfax not to long ago for suicidal ideations, self harm, and hallucinations. I went there voluntarily because I didn't feel like I had any other option and I desperately needed help. However, I somehow managed to feel even worse while I was there. It was a such a traumatizing experience and I ended up going home a week early. I did not eat, I did not sleep, I did not participate in any of the group activities. All I did was lay in bed shivering and crying. I first arrived after being at a different hospital for several days, so I was already extremely tired and was missing home. The first thing they had me do was fill out paperwork signing away my rights and making sure I knew that the hospital would not be held responsible for anything that happened to me during my stay. Then they stripped me and checked for scars and tattoos. They then proceeded to give me scrubs that were way to small on me. Once that was done I was taken to a kids unit and immediately started getting catcalled by some of the other patients and I felt so uncomfortable. There was also a patient there who was extremely touchy and often ran down the hall screaming and running into the locked doors. After the small tour of the single hallway full of agitated teens, I was sent to my room and spent the rest of the night in there. During that time I heard so much screaming and yelling. One girl was calling her mom crying and begging to be let out. For the next hour, all she did was cry and repeat the same few words over and over again and telling the nurses she wanted to talk to her lawyer, but it never happened. Once it was dinner time, I was asked if I had any dietary needs and so I told them I was a vegetarian. For the rest of my stay they would only give me food with meat in it. So I did not eat during my entire stay. The unit itself was extremely cold and I was given nothing but a thin blanket. Some of the other kids were allowed to wear their own clothes, but only if they participated in group activities, which was something I refused to do out of fear of being around large groups of people. Every once in awhile a nurse would come in and ask the standard questions. "Are you having any homicidal or suicidal thoughts. Are you currently having any hallucinations. Can you describe them?" Describing the things I saw and heard was extremely hard for me to do and I cried a lot, but they didn't care nor did they tell me that I didn't have to talk about it. They did nothing to help me. What was the point of me being there if they were going to keep me in a room with other crying roommates and do nothing to help me while I was in a crisis. There were kids straight up fighting and drinking hand sanitizer. Not to mention the fact that a covid outbreak took place while I was there and several of the kids got there mask privileges taken away so they were not safe at all and ended up getting sick. Some of the nurses themselves were also super mean and unprofessional. One of the patients came into my room several times and tried touching me, and on one occasion gripped the back of my shoulders and threatened me. The nurses did nothing. It was such a miserable experience. I wasn't even given the medication that I was supposed to be taking prior to being admitted. I would have gotten out sooner if I could, but they would not let me call my mom. I had to be put on a list to be able to call, but every time I asked, they just said "you'll be able to call soon" I was finally able to call on my last day there and begged to go home. The only time I ever felt happy was when the nurses told me that my mom had just arrived. Even then, the nurses seemed annoyed and asked why I was leaving so early. Clearly all they care about at fairfax is a quick cash grab. What certification do you even need to work at a behavioral health center full of a bunch of vulnerable kids. Some of the nurses there were barely adults themselves. The youngest I think there that was watching us was 18. And he said he had already been working there a few years. In conclusion, if you think you need impatient care, please find a better place. The people at Fairfax do not care about you. The only nice thing about there was when the sun would occasionally show and I felt a little warmth. Mental health facilities should be inviting and comforting for people who need serious help. I lost a lot of weight while I was there and was extremely sleep deprived and traumatized. Being in a regular hospital is a much better solution. At least they're nicer read more

I was sentenced here in 2009.... I say sentenced because it felt like a prison. I was 16 and left here by my parents. Supposed to help with my mental health, I received all these diagnoses and medications that I really did not need. Locked inside and we got to go outdoors MAYBE once a day. I missed out on high school homecoming and Halloween with my friends because I was stuck here. Would not touch the food I loved off of dry Rice Krispies and cranberry juice. The worst memory that sticks out to me was a poor sweet little boy who was left there by his parents, just like me. Who had to be only 5 was put in intensive care by a patient named jack, a paranoid schizophrenic who was HUGE. Why wasn't he separated??? As a mom now of a 5 year old I couldn't even imagine the hell id bring if that were my child. This place is awful avoid at all costs. read more

I went to fairfax in april 2015 at 14 and october 2016 at 15 and during my visit the 2nd time at 15 i was sexually harassed by 2 different people 3 TIMES and they did NOTHING a girl pulled my pants down and grabbed my breast at one point too and we were roommates AND SHE GOT TO GO HOME THE NEXT DAY while i was stuck being there for 3 weeks. I NEVER recommend coming here, youll be more traumatized after than when you got there read more

If I could give negative stars I would! This place is NOT the place to go. Go anywhere else. My sister took my nephew here. Once he was in and realized this was not the right place for him. THEY WOULD NOT RELEASE HIM!!!!To his OWN PARENTS!!!!Wtf? Days go by I'm trying to call my nephew and they wouldn't let me. "Call back in 30min" every time. Facility is not therapeutic. Really more like a jail than a place to get help. Please pass this on things like this should not happen! The pain and suffering my family had to go thru was unnecessary and wrong. If I could give this place a negative 100+ stars I totally would because this place is just that horrible!!! I will NEVER take my child back to this place EVER!!! We are filing a complaint with our insurance company, Office of the Insurance Commissioner and the owners of Fairfax Hospitals because of the experience my child had here. Check your bill because they're quick to bill for services that they did NOT render! NOT all their providers / clinical staff is in network with any insurance companies and refuse to be, case in point the psychiatrist on W2. The psychiatrist on the ward was less than professional and lacked the knowledge and empathy of a provider who is in charge of taking care of my child's mental health. My child was left without medical and behavioral health care, medication and treatment information, new prescriptions and coping / managing techniques or anything to help her leave there safer than when she got there and they released her anyways. I empower you to seek help with an outpatient provider, talk therapy with a therapist and if you need it psychiatric help with a medication manager and find a support group outside of inpatient. This place was horrible and I am sad to all those that slipped through the cracks because of this place. It's heartbreaking to see the suicides after being here happen when it could have been helped if this place did their job that the insurance companies are paying them big bucks for. These comments pertain to the adolescent unit. There are only two mental health inpatient facilities in King County with "beds" for adolescents. Fairfax is one, Children's is the other. Do not let your kid be put here. Do not be fooled by the nice lobby and slick admissions people. Run away. There are other options. Trust me. Clearly - having a loved one in need of a facility for help is grueling. That being said, Fairfax was what our kid needed to get her stable and to work through her crisis. In response to those who have complained about the hard beds and the bad food? Yeah - it's not a resort. It's not a hotel. It's a hospital. Have you ever had good food at a hospital? My one complaint about this facility is the lack of communication between the doctors and the parents. Very little conversation or information given back-and-forth - my kid has a life-threatening medical condition so that was very taxing for us to not have good communication. Thea our case worker was FANTASTIC! Kind, helpful, honest and a great communicator. She and a nurse (Andrea maybe?) helped us navigate though what was an excruciatingly difficult time. read more

It is never ideal to end up in a place like Fairfax. For must of us, this is the worst crisis we've ever faced with our child. The reviews on this site don't help either. There are caring and capable people at Fairfax. After the first awful day and a half of not understanding how everything ran, I gradually became more and more at ease as I got the opportunity to check in with many of the South care team. They helped keep my son safe when he was confused and unstable. I appreciate that deeply. I do wish there was a better transfer of care upon discharge, but I think that is probably just the state of our mental health system. Fairfax is not designed as a forever plan. It's a stop-gap to get your child back on track. I hope this review has eased your concerns. read more
