I have been going here for years and never had a problem. Today was different. I came to pick up my son's suit for a dance and the staff said it was not ready because someone was on vacation and she did not know when it would be ready! It was supposed to be ready on Thursday. The new owner does not seem to understand that if his business loses a pair of pants to a suit then it is no longer a suit. He argued with me on reimbursing the cost of the suit-originally costing $300 at Jos. A Bank. He said he would only give us $100. When i went in to file a claim he would only give me $95. For the clear g part, They did not move my stains even though I gave them a second time to try. She told me it can not remove. Then I tried by myself after coming back to home. It was easy to get off. For the alternation, bad quality and high price, I went to there tow times for one item. First time, it was fixed but easy to broke. Have used this dry cleaner for years as I work nearby. Was always satisfied. Issue now is it is no longer convenient as hours now have been shortened to 9-4:30. Literally during working hours. So last night at 5:15 stopped by and closed. So today managed to get out at lunch time to head over to drop off and sign on door apologizing for being closed. I understand getting workers is difficult right now but these limited hours and lack of confidence in it being open as while I work nearby I do not live anywhere nearby. Therefore if I won't be in Wilmington for work only on specific days I need assurance the business will be open when I need to use. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I am new to the area and came to the store to dry clean a shirt and pants for a funeral. I was told to return the next day after 4pm. When I arrived at 5pm, the store clerk could not find my garments. I graciously ran a few errands to give her time to look. When I returned 30 minutes later she had found my clothes wrapped in a clear plastic bag at the bottom of a dirty clothes bin. I brought the garments in on hangers. There was a hole in my pants that was new. I had to go purchase new pants at Mens Wearhouse just to be able to attend the funeral. DO NOT TRUST THEM. read more

I have been a customer here for 9 years. I have asked them to alter several items of clothing and the owner refuses saying it's impossible, but another cleaners can always do what he says he can't- hemming lined dress slacks or even curtains. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I gave my custom tailored shirt to them and the white shirt was ruined with blue coloration. Initially, she said it was there when I dropped off however after 10 minutes of arguing, she realize that she made a mistake. She is trying to rectify the situation to fix the shirt and I have now been back four times to pick up the shirt and no one knows where the shirt is. There is nobody in the store that can reach out to the owner and the response I get is with him during weekdays from 10 to 12 Bottom line, a $90 shirt with ruined, this shirt is lost, I have wasted or Tripp to the dry cleaner just to get more angry and disappointed read more

I went to pick y items today, and I was about to be given a wrong item. My silk jacket was nowhere to be found. Since I was going to be given the wrong item, I honestly thought that my jacket had been given to someone else. The manager/ owner was called twice and texted once. The employee kept on asking me about the jacket, trying to look for it. My item was a press only item and it would be in a different area within the facility. My jacket was found on top of a pile... so I was told, not serviced as requested. I paid for the items that were done, 2 pairs of pants and left with my jacket unserviced. Fairfax Valet in Wilmington lost my business and any potential referrals. When I am treated right, I make sure to spread the word; but when you are disrespectful with my time and property, I will share my experience as well. My machine is not large to clean comforterS effectively. Fairfax is nearby & had generous online coupons. Dropping off & picking up are super easy, parking is plentiful, The doors create a cross breeze so it's not unpleasant or claustrophobic-not that I had wait long at all. I recently moved to the area and just found out I cannot drive at this time and cannot get down the steps to do my laundry. I called and asked about their pick-up and delivery service. They came and picked up my laundry within 2 hours and delivered it back that same evening. It was wash and fold only, no dry cleaning but it was perfect. My only suggestion would be for the $5.00 pickup/delivery fee charged to either be given to the person that is doing the pick up/delivery, or drop the fee and include a tip that the delivery person would receive. I felt bad for the person that picked up and delivered my order. It was too expensive for me to give that person a tip on top of the $5.00 delivery fee. I am not sure if the drive thru is open. It would be a good idea during this Covid 19 crisis... then it could all be done with no contact. Perhaps they should emphasize that service on the web site if it is available. read more

My family has been living in the South-Eastern Pennsylvania/Delaware area for the past 12 years, and we've given a lot of business to Fairfax Valet Cleaners throughout the years. After this last experience, however, we've decided that they will no longer have us as a customer and I implore you to consider this story before making your decision on a dry cleaning service (particularly those of you that may be considering washing your fine items--suits, dresses, etc). My sister's Senior Prom occurred the other week, and afterwards she took her prom dress to Fairfax Valet Cleaners. *Brief backstory: my sister spent $500 out of her own pocket on this prom dress (in my opinion, that's a lot of money for a high school kid to spend on an article of clothing, but I digress). Fairfax Valet Cleaners returned the dress to her with: 1) A disgusting sweat-stain on the waist 2) The dress smelled like B.O. 3) The elastic on the waist had ripped After seeing this, my sister said that it looked like somebody--with a significantly bigger body size--had worn the dress and then put it back (without even washing it!). The manager, Glenn, admitted that the dress hadn't been washed, but then continued to say that the rip on the waist occurred during the washing (apparently this happens all the time to "cheap dresses"). I never realized that $500 constituted a cheap dress. This seems like something that would end up on Judge Judy or some kind of small claims court, but this kind of passive aggressive review will suffice. Thank you for reading. If I could give them zero stars I would. They have ruined more than a dozen dress shirts in just about 6 months. When asked about it they gave me a long drawn out speech about how it couldn't possibly be them. This morning my husband pulled a suit out of the closet that he picked up from them last week - the buttons are all cracked and broken. We were customers for a long time; prior to the latest owner taking over. We are done. I had two silk shirts ruined in the same spot on the back. I didn't notice it until I went to iron after I wore one of them once (who looks at the back of their shirt?). I looked at my other similar shirt; still in the dry cleaning bag and noticed it too had the same two stress marks on the back of it. I took them into the owner, (i had to go in three times until i could get him) and he would not take responsibility and called it a "snag" when clearly the threads had been stressed in the exact two spots on both shirts and upon my first visit (when he wasn't there) the one shirt still had the machine indentations on it. I am sick of people not taking responsibility; and I'm not going to stress myself out fighting with him about it. We are done there and I will tell everyone I know about it as well.
