Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center is a blast. We came here for a private event and my family…read morethoroughly enjoyed themselves. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet and well maintained. Not only does the center have a great pool but also 2 water slides, diving board, a splash area, and water rock climbing wall. The different areas of the pool is divided by water ropes and there are lifeguards assigned to each area to ensure the safety of patrons. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas if you want to read or take a cat nap while there. There is a picnic area and also a small playground and sand volleyball if that tickles your fancy. The bathrooms were spotless and had showers and changing areas. Due to the event being private we had catered food but there is a concession stand to buy snacks and food while at the center if need be. This is a great place to bring the whole family for water fun!

Maybe going during the middle of the week when people are at work helped. My kids loved the big pool area with all the fun tools and toys. They also likes the slide, but I would suggest they have a lifeguard who is comfort with kids and telling them to get in line be there because the poor kid who was there was not at all. I thought the price was good for non-residents. A little high, but I get it. I liked that they didn't care about you bringing food in and had plenty of grass, shaded spots to sit with my kids. We had a really great time and will come back again next summer!

Since I have older children, I asked for a refund because we were leaving. Staff told me they were "fixing the pH" and planned to reopen the pool. I made it clear that my children were not getting back into a pool that had just been contaminated with human waste. Their response? "No refunds." So just be aware: the "No Refunds" policy apparently applies no matter what--even when the reason you're leaving is a biohazard that shuts down the main pool shortly after you arrive. Extremely disappointing customer service. We paid for a day at the pool, not to deal with a sewage incident and then be told we're out of luck.

Some very unfortunate news especially for the kids: Oldham County confirms aquatic center needs…read morerepairs, won't open in 2022. Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele said the Oldham County Aquatic Center Pool at Wendell Moore Park won't open this year, but contrary to social media rumors, it won't permanently close. In a news release Thursday, Voegele said "structural and mechanical problems" last year led to a point where repairs need to be made now. "In each off-season, the Parks Department has worked with a pool vendor to identify and complete needed repairs," Voegele said. "However, last year problems increased - marked by burst pipe connections, failing pumps, a separation of the concrete pool deck from the pool, and a serious water leak which continuously drained chlorine from the pool. Chlorine is critical to keeping the water clean. The situation is such the pool cannot open and the needed repairs will require about 18 months to complete."
