We visited Clearwater so we could hit the beach and the hotel location was perfect. It was about miles from the beach area. The rooms were super comfortable and clean. The hotel has a gym as well as a pool, e we did not use either but it was available. We also were able to have a nice continental breakfast before heading out in the morning. They have water a food out for the during the day For guests. We forgot our toothpaste and they gave us toothpaste. They have a little store. They have a nice pool. They have a gym here and the management and staff They are wonderful. Everybody here is so friendly in addition to that I had a nice note when I got to my room and they gave us extra waters and they thanked me for my stay with a nice card With a snack . I have never had this kind Of treatment at any of the hotels I've stayed with. Elevator was broken, had to carry 50lb luggage up the stairs, the fire pit was non functional and the pool was out of service. The only amenity was a continental breakfast which was ok at best. They offered no discounts for the lack of amenities or the elevator being out of service but all of these were listed on their website and there was no communication of these issues when we made the reservation. read more

Stayed here for two nights. Needed something central to the area without paying beach prices though the prices were still high for what you get. Also it was disappointing that as a platinum member there were no room upgrades. The room itself was fine but they need to invest in new sound proof windows since the traffic on the nearby highways is very loud and the windows are poor. They even have earplugs in the nightstand - that tells you something. Also the faucet water pressure was barely above a steady dribble - again an area for some improvement. The breakfast was pretty standard but what wasn't was the outstanding service by Nadia who was running the breakfast room. She made the waffles and delivered them to our table, she also brought us bottles of water without prompting. We've stayed at many Fairfields and have never had this type of customer service. Feels much further from the highway than it actually is, just because of the landscaping and gorgeous trees. We had a great experience at this location! We attended an event at Ruth Eckerd Hall and it was so convenient. We arrived early and they had a room available so we were able to check in before heading out to dinner. The staff was friendly and the lobby area bright and clean.Our room was clean and had plenty of towels. Only thing we noticed was a dresser drawer that didn't fully close. Breakfast had more than enough options and the attendant was very friendly and fixed us a waffle and brought it to the table! We used to stay at another hotel chain nearby but we will definitely return here when we attend our next concert! read more

To be fair, it was a holiday weekend in January and this hotel was half the price of a hotel nearer the beach. Still, pricy for what you get. Staff was friendly and helpful altho we had to ask for the complementary water. The hotel was clean however the rooms are old and badly in need of updating. The bed was hard and linens cheap and old. Towels were unbelievably thin and rough. Breakfast had a nice selection with oatmeal and fixings, pre-made eggs and egg sandwiches, fresh waffles, a nice assortment of fresh fruit, and more. Breakfast attendant was super nice and worked hard to accommodate everyone including a huge family with lots of littles that stayed a really long time. All in all it was ok for a budget class hotel, but not budget-friendly probably due to the date and location. One night was fine, I can't imagine more. read more

We lived not too far from this hotel and have sold the house which we needed to be out of the house in a few days. Because we were flying out in a few days. We needed a place to stay until then. I would like to say Yvette at the front desk is a great asset to This facility. I think I bugged her like about 5 days on a daily basis because our plan kept changing due to the move! She was oh so helpful along with the rest of the staff. We have a service dog due to my health! The room is clean and great based on Marriott's great standards. I appreciate her being so friendly and always greeting me with a smile after a long hard day at work! I also want to commend the lady who did the breakfast in the morning. Everything was so organized, clean and looked and tasted fresh! She too always greeted me with a smile and I appreciate that! My housekeeper was great too! My room was spotless and set back to perfect standards everyday! The morning desk crew was not as friendly as all the others but you never know they could hVe been having a bad day....or a few bad days. As Titanium Elite Bonvoy members, we travel very often. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, even though there were a few issues. The HVAC unit was not working in the room, even after the maintenance man worked on it. Then John, the front desk employee, kindly checked it out and moved me to another room. Yvette at the front desk was super nice and professional, too. The customer service is one of the most important aspects of the experience at hotels, and their's was top-notch. Other things I really liked about it are it's closeness to the airport and to Safety Harbor, the nice hot water, and the newly renovated decor. I was not crazy about the breakfast offerings; a heated up pre-made sandwich is not as good as the hot items in all the other hotels I stay at. The oatmeal was good, though. I liked that there are gas stations close by to fill up the rental car before going to the airport. I will stay here again. read more

First I will say what I especially LOVED about this hotel - they had recycle bins by the vending/ice machine! I love that and almost never see it in hotels. That was fantastic and I wish all hotels would be forced to recycle. There wasn't a bin for aluminum (only plastic and paper), but baby-steps - it was still good to see the bins! This is a nice hotel, not brand new but well-kept. My room had 2 queens and was nice and spacious. It was clean and there were plenty of clean towels. No fridge or microwave, but there was a coffee pot with supplies. The bed (a little squishy) and pillows weren't the best, but they were okay; I've had better (and worse!). Sheets were clean and that's what matters. The lobby is big and the girl checking me in was super-nice. Parking is free and even though the hotel was full, there was plenty of parking around the back. There is a pretty outdoor pool and a gym (neither of which I used). Free good wi-fi and free breakfast. The breakfast area was clean with good food. You can eat inside, or go outside and eat your breakfast. It was crowded because the hotel was full. The hotel is on the pricey side, but I shopped around and it was the least expensive that had good reviews. I stayed during the height of the season in this area (February), so I'd imagine that's why it had the big price tag. This hotel is on a very big, main street through Clearwater. As soon as you exit the hotel to the west, you start seeing all kinds of restaurants, fast-food joints, stores, etc. There's a Super-Target (really nice!) about a mile away. US 19 is about a mile west of the hotel (that's the road that takes you south to St. Pete; it is the major road through St. Pete and Clearwater). There is a big Walmart about 2 or 3 miles away (north on 19), and there's a huge indoor mall about 5 miles away (again, north on 19). This hotel is not really near the beaches - they're a bit of a drive. Going east up Gulf to Bay Road and going left on Bayshore will take you on a pretty drive along the waterway to a cute little town called Safety Harbor (it's takes about 10 - 15 minutes). It is definitely a must-see little town; it is small and charming and takes you away from the traffic and congestion in the Clearwater area. There are tons of cute shops, restaurants, bars and a delightful little dessert place on Main Street called Joey Biscotti. There is also a beautiful Art and Music Center. If you go down to the harbor, there's a nice pier you can walk out on and a little park area. The boats are pretty to look at and we even saw 2 manatees in the water. Also, it is a mecca for all kinds of shore birds and water fowl. I have one complaint, and it's a big one for me. When I walked into my room, I was overpowered by a sweet-smelling air freshener. I HATE THAT. The room was clean, and that air freshener stink was totally unnecessary. Unfortunately, I could only open the window about 1-inch to get fresh air. It was horrible. Any other time, I might have asked to switch rooms, but the hotel was at capacity, and probably all the rooms have that smell. If you're like me and don't like stinky air-fresheners, call ahead to the hotel and try and see if they can tell housekeeping to leave it out of your room - that's what I will do next time I stay here. The smell was really, really strong and SO offensive. That would be my only complaint. read more

They offer really good covid-19 protocols. for Fairfield inn by Marriott it really I think exceeds expectations. This spot is serving one of the better breakfast meal kits that I've come across in my cross country trip from Iowa down to Florida. I really like their innovation they give you a main item and you get to choose and it can be something like a bacon and egg on a cheap auto roll or pork and cheese and a muffin or an actual bowl a scrambled egg bowl or omelette plus they offer good choices like egg white frittata on cereal with either 2% milk or almond milk.then they give you a choice of a pastry or a snack like a yogurt or a muffin and then you get possibly a fresh fruit of orange or a banana or a fruit cup and then you have the option of orange juice or milk. you call down your order to the front desk and then it's ready for your pickup between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. it just UPS the game a little bit in this covid-19 time and they do of course all the staff are messed up and they do your best to the front desk staff name Alssya did her best to get me the type of room I wanted where I wanted it. Like I said very good place either if you need to stop for one night or several. read more

So when I think Fairfield, I don't think of anything impressive, to be honest. However, for a number of reasons, this place really was outstanding. I arrived early as it's just not always possible to get a flight to arrive after check-in so I knew I was at the mercy of possibly having to entertain myself until I could get a room. However, the lady at the desk was able to get me an open room and a free upgrade (double to king) right when I checked in. Sometimes when I'm traveling on business, it's the small things. I really appreciated being able to crash in my room right away. Now, Robin, the lady who works in the the evenings, was a real stand-out. My coworkers and I don't like to turn in early so we cleaned out her stash of cold beer and wine. She was so funny and just made our stay that much better. Please give her a raise! I am happy to report that I would stay here again. It's close to my business office in town, and the service was impeccable! read more

We used the Fairfield Inn & Suites as our preferred accommodations vendor for our wedding. Our ceremony and reception were in Clearwater and Dunedin and this was a great location. The hotel is towards the bay side of 60, a few blocks after you exit the Courtney Campbell. The Clearwater Mall is just down the street so there were lots of nearby options for food and last minute needs (because do you ever make it to your destination with EVERYTHING you meant to pack?). What we and our guests appreciated most is how quiet this hotel is! It is tucked away in a professional area of 60 with mostly office buildings and residential areas nearby. No bars open late, no restaurants blaring music outside - just quiet. Everyone loved the options available at the free breakfast and my groom and I appreciated the chance to soak our tired toes in the hot tub post-ceremony while relaxing with our out-of-town guests. Great hotel, great service in arranging and booking our block of hotel rooms, and all my guests were happy. Thank you all for helping make this an amazing weekend! The only reason I can't give it four-stars is there was some initial confusion about booking rooms within our block. The reservations HAD to made with hotel staff and some of them transferred calls to the reservation call center before really listening to the caller, which meant they had to call back and immediately say "Don't transfer me". read more

This was the best hotel stay I've had in a long time, and I travel often. The hotel lobby area and rooms all had the same color palette and was very clean and colorful. It was just the right size hotel- it didn't take forever to get to my third floor room or to the fitness center or to the pool. We stayed in a room with the whirlpool bath- BEST IDEA EVER!! Granted, we didn't have much of a view from our room (lot and trees) but the room was so comfortable and roomy, we didn't look out much- but stayed in almost all weekend! The whirlpool bath is in the corner of the bathroom closest to the bed and has transparent doors that open up to the bedroom, so you can watch tv from the bath ( and that's exactly what we did)! The shower and the bath ALWAYS ran hot and the shower pressure was so good that my honey managed to take several showers a day. The bed was super comfortable and the linens were white, so you could rest easy knowing they were clean. The pillows were light and fluffy and just enough for two. The location was perfect, as well! It wasn't too far from the airport or downtown Tampa spots, but still just minutes away from Clearwater beach and Countryside Mall. We were able to have food delivered to our room door! The only drawback to the entire weekend was that the satellite tv went up and down when it started raining, but it didn't last for long. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and there was always someone there. The free breakfast was your typical free breakfast, but it was fresh and hot and there was a person in the area cleaning and freshening up the entire time I was down there. Fairfield Inn has a wonderful getaway plugged into Clearwater. This will be my regular getaway spot, for sure! read more

If you're looking for a fairly affordable and clean place to stay in the Clearwater/Safety Harbor area, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. FISC was one of 2 hotels that offered a special rate for a local race that my husband and I were in town for. It wasn't our first choice but it ended up exceeding our expectations. There was ample parking and we never had to drive around during our stay to find an open spot. Check in was simple- we gave our name and a card for incidentals-and ended up being assigned a room on the same floor which happened to be next to a side door entrance. This was super convenient since we could park on the side and enter through that way to our room instead of walking from the lobby. The gentleman that checked us in at the desk was friendly and great about suggesting places nearby to eat. There is also a complimentary breakfast offered every morning in the lobby but we never got up early enough to take advantage of. Our room had 2 queen beds and was rather spacious. While it was a little dated in décor, everything was clean and well kept. There is also free wifi that worked like a charm with no delays whatsoever. The only thing that might be a con is that this hotel is next to an interstate exit so you can hear traffic outside your window - depending on what side of the hotel you are in. As far as location, there are restaurants about 2 min down the road(all mainly chain restaurants) and I did see a Target in case you need some odds and ends. For the most part, it was central to where we needed to be and I really have no major complaints. read more

While on business in Clearwater, FL I was fortunate enough to stay in the bay area and luckily I was able to stay at this Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. The hotel was very affordable at about $110 which is something I was pleased with as the company is always cost conscience and prefers we reserve rooms at a conservative rate. Therefore, I was shocked by how much bang you get for your buck here. My room was located in the first floor and upon entering the room I was floored that I had a moderate size living room. Very comfy couch with a trendy TV Unit and plenty of lighting. The bathroom had a large vanity and a separate toilet area and tub. I do think more could have been done with the tub area as the space is sufficient enough for a bigger tub or shower. It looked a little funky such a big bathroom and a small tub but again maybe it's me being picky. Another trendy TV in the bed area which was on a modern TV stand and next to a small desk area with plenty of power sockets on the wall. The area was made well for business travels to charge there PC, Phone and any other device that are needed, including FREE WiFi which I was extremely happy for and a HUGE plus. I also can't express how comfortable the King Size bed was, there is no better feeling when on the road for business than to come to your room and lay down on a comfortable bed. The hotel was minutes from restaurants, department stores and downtown.However, the nugget to my experience was that the hotel was literally less than 5 minutes from the beach. If your a walker then it will take you 15 minutes or so... I can't tell you how happy I was to finish work and catch the sunset on the beach and take a swim. I hardly have time to go to the beach at home in Miami and I was able to catch a swim while in Clearwater for business after work. How cool is that... I will defiantly stay here again if I need to come to Clearwater again. read more

Crappy check in experience. The girl was flippant and seemed in a hurry even though we were the only ones checking in. My husband and I are Platinum Elite members at Marriott so we normally get a nice welcome and are asked if we want points or food vouchers. She did not ask, just decided herself I guess that we wanted points. The hotel was clean and we had a room with a view of the bridge and water which I liked. We needed a late checkout and the lady on the morning shift was more than accommodating with that. Typical Fairfield room clean and comfortable with the only complaint being that the air conditioning was super loud. We checked in with Robin at the front desk. She was in a bad mood, did not greet us. OK, no big deal, we got our keys to the king size bedroom and went to the room. It was two double beds. We were tired after a flight from NJ and it was 10:00. We went back down and asked why. She said it was because they were sold out. I asked why we were not told when we checked in and she shrugged her shoulders. We went back up to our two double bed room. Later Chianti was very nice in callng us and following up. I think she was a manager. The property was well taken care of. Room was nothing special but it was clean. Pillows were somewhat hard. Parking was good. We got this hotel very last minute and really didn't know what to expect but it was EXCELLENT! The best hotel we stayed at on our recent trip to florida! A few high points. The front lobby was clean and welcoming; the front desk staff were super friendly and nice and made a point of coming around the front to see our 9 month old and giving us options for which kind of room was best! It feels good to be welcomed with a smile when you walk in the door after a long day driving. The breakfast buffet was tasty and filling and the lady who was refilling it was such a sweetheart coming over to our table to ask if everything was ok and bringing 'special' pancakes for the 3 year old and asking us if there was anything else we needed. The waffle machine was a hit :) The room was super clean, and the room service was excellent. The ac worked perfectly. It was quiet and we slept really well. Couldn't ask for more. The port-a-crib was high quality and much better than several (more expensive) hotel chains we stayed at. The pool was clean and had plenty of fresh towels and nice sun loungers. Overall, this is a great place to stay in clearwater if you are looking for a place away from the beach crowds. read more

For the price, this was an excellent hotel! Would it have been nicer to be closer to the beach? Of course, but for the drive (and traffic some times) it was worth it. The breakfast was very good, nice variety, and the people working in that area kept is stocked and clean. The pool and hot tub were heated well and spotless. There were many nice areas to sit around the pool area. Couple of drawbacks...the bathroom was a little small and the hallway (5th floor to the left of the elevators) was like a wind tunnel the entire stay. Just a bit odd. We stayed at 650 Bay Esplande Clearwater Florida .Very pleasant stay. Everything was perfect Don't know how they managed it. But .. they made arrangements with the "weather gods" and the weather was absolutely perfect . Our stay was perfect from Kimberly at the front desk to house keeping Phyllis .. the breakfast buffet was plentiful with Mitch watching and making sure everything was full . We loved the shuttle experience. It gave our 15 year olds some independence without stressing .Garbie, Tyler and Brice were extremely helpful and so courteous . It was about what you expect for a Fairfield. It doesn't have the amenities of a full-blown Marriott, but hey, you're in Orlando. You're probably not doing much more than sleeping and showering at the hotel. Positives: - Breakfast included. It's pretty basic, but you're feeding kids who aren't the most discriminating eaters. The waffle maker makes them think they're in a 5 star restaurant. - Nice pool and hot tub for easing the stress of a full day at Disney or Universal Studios. - Wallgreens (with liquor store) right across the parking lot for securing any forgotten or needed provisions. - Very helpful, friendly staff. - Free WiFi. Negatives: - The rooms are pretty small. If you're packing a whole family in there isn't much room to move around. - The mattresses were awfully soft for my personal tastes. - There is a free shuttle service that runs to and from Universal Studios but the schedule was not all that convenient (6:30AM pickup and 7:30PM return). read more
