We had an okay overnight stay here. Check in was easy as usual. Standard amenities you expect from a Hilton. The room was clean - it was on the 5th floor, which is the floor for those traveling with pets and service animals. The room did not smell and everything was clean and comfy. My only problem was this Hilton had no conditioner - only shampoo and body wash. I usually book Hilton because I love the zero brand stuff but this was the first without conditioner.... What the...I know it seems like first world problems, but hello we're in Florida with high humidity a for tourists, most likely at the beach all day. They have a fire pit, a small pool with pool towels available. The breakfast was the worst selection at any Hilton, even my husband could t find anything he wanted and he is the least picky person on earth. I didn't witness it myself but when he came back with nothing but a muffin and tales of sad dried eggs, I listen. read more

Review for Home2 Suites by Hilton - Largo, Florida I strongly recommend staying elsewhere--there's a Marriott right around the corner and several better-quality options in the area. While the rooms are clean and the physical property appears new, this hotel fails completely when it comes to basic service and breakfast quality. On multiple mornings, the "breakfast buffet" has consisted of fried chicken, french fries, and four to five types of bread--but no eggs. Not even hard-boiled. No sausage, no bacon, no real protein. Just leftovers, it seems. One morning, they had quiche instead of eggs, and another time they were out of yogurt for several days. When I asked the staff, they simply said their delivery didn't arrive. That's no excuse--someone could have gone to the store. No one apologized, and no one followed up. This is not an isolated incident. Hilton corporate has not responded to my complaint, which speaks volumes about the management oversight. If you're traveling with kids or looking for a standard Hilton-quality stay, this is not the place. There's no regard for nutrition or basic breakfast expectations, and guests were visibly frustrated each morning. Sadly, it feels like they're just throwing out whatever's left in the fridge. As a Lifetime Diamond member, I've stayed at many Home2 Suites locations, and this is by far the most disappointing. Lack of quality, poor service, and zero accountability. We really enjoyed our stay. Service was friendly. We did have to request our room to be cleaned which seemed strange. The breakfast is also overall terrible. I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting family nearby. Everything was top notch. Upon arrival, I noticed how clean and stylish things were. They have a front patio seating area with tables, chairs, cushioned benches and gas fire pits. What a nice place to hangout and chat! Then we entered the lobby. It also has many places to sit comfortably. Their sofas have many charging outlets. They also sell various beverages, snacks, microwave meals and ice cream. I was greeted by David, who checked us in quickly and efficiently. What a gem he is! He is definitely a seasoned professional! He truly went out if his way to make feel welcomed. We when up to our room/suite and loved it. Clean, spacious and loaded with everything you'd need to stay for an extended period of time. There was even a sliding curtain to separate the bed from the seating area, giving you privacy if needed. Very comfy. We invited 2 guests to join us at the pool. The pool is heated, It's small but nice. There is even a nice grilling area for cookouts. This hotel offers a free breakfast buffet. I read some online reviews that were negative. I honestly don't get their issues. They had many fine things to choose from. Cereals, hot oatmeal, muffins, bagels, toast, fruit, juices, milk and a nice selection of hot, pre-packaged breakfast items. Items included breakfast sandwiches, omelets and a breakfast bowl of some sort. I chose a breakfast sandwich that was an English muffin, with egg, cheese and sausage patty. It was very good. There was of course plenty of coffee and tea also. I have been to some lousy free breakfast offerings and some excellent ones too. I'd say that this one scores about a 6 out if 10. All in all, I really loved this place and I hope to visit again someday, or find other Home2 Suites properties in other cities. Bravo, Hilton! To management: David is a keeper! This is easily the most convenient hotel I've ever stayed at, and I am saying that as someone who works in hotels and stays at many different ones. The staff was wonderful, especially David who was working front desk, and the hotel itself is super conveniently located and has everything you need just minutes away. The room was fully stocked with everything we needed, and even the breakfast buffet was amazing (and they even had it opened a bit early!) It was about a 15 minute drive to the beach, Publix is right around the corner for you to stock your fridge up, all the stores you could think of are right next door, and there's even an AutoZone in walking distance in case your car happens to break down in the parking lot. Beware of this hotel. The general manager has no respect for hotel guests and discriminates those who have disabilities. She puts cones on handicap spaces to hold them for herself and feels she is an expert in determining what a service dog is. She tries to change your hotel rate and charge you for a pet fee even if the dog is a service dog with credentials, She targets Hispanics, blacks, and veterans. The worst experience we have ever had. Interesting set up-- lots of counter space and storage, if that's what you're looking for in a hotel room! We're a bit spoiled staying in previous suites, so comparing this to other comparable rooms. Found a few stray hairs in the bathroom that weren't mine. That always turns me off. Strange smell in the bathroom, like a rehab pool (sorry, I'm in health care :)). Room for 5- two beds and a pull out sofa (missing bedding, so had to walk down to pick it up at the desk). Dispenser style shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner or lotion. Maybe it was forgotten somehow. Arrived late, so haven't checked out the other features. If you have a family and haven't stayed at this brand, you're in for a treat. I am a long-time Hilton Honors member. The Home2 Suites in Largo, FL, did not honor the rate that I booked. This was a business trip, and I am required to travel at the U.S. Government per diem rate. I booked this hotel at $148 per night, which is the U.S.G. per diem rate for Largo. I was not informed on check-in that this rate is no longer honored at this Hilton franchise. I was here for an 2 night business trip and am glad I found this location. It is a new hotel. In fact, it still smelled new. The rooms were large and comfortable and for a longer duration stay, even offers a kitchenette with a cooktop, full size fridge and dishware. The hotel was so new that the workout facilities were not completely ready, having no weights on the rack. There were treadmills and ellipticals and medicine balls. The lobby was huge. Everytime I can by it, there were groups of coworkers - 10-12 at least - having a meeting and working on a project. The seats looked comfortable, and judging by the amount of time the group was in them, they must have been. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even going so far as researching a question that had nothing to do with the hotel for me. They were able to offer suggestions on restaurants and other options in the area. In fact, the entire experience was good, but if there were any negative, it would simply be related to the breakfast options. I understand that COVID has changed things, but I'm used to Hilton offering freshly made foods. Now, everything is prepackaged foods, like you would find in many frozen food sections of grocery stores. They were not overly satisfying and prompted me to skip breakfast here and find it elsewhere, friendliness of the kitchen staff notwithstanding. read more

On 9-20 2024 to 9-24-2024. I'm also a military veteran. I work for the government and I needed to stay in largo for business. Almost every hotel was sold out so I couldn't book through the website so I looked up Hilton hotels and found what I thought was Hilton hotel in largo but it turned out to be a scam through price line. They never mentioned that they were price line and I thought I was talking to someone at the front desk I told them I'm traveling for work with the government and they said ok no problem just give my tax exempt paperwork when I get to the hotel and I said ok thank you. They proceeded to take my company credit card over the phone and said enjoy your stay. When I arrived at the hotel the guy saw my reservation and took my tax exempt paperwork and said that he needed my credit card for any incidentals that might accrue. I gave him my card and he applied $50 for the incidentals. Then the night manager Cheryl Buck came up and said that I can't use the tax exempt because I booked through a third party and I said no I called here directly from your website and she said it's a clone website and then I said to her that I need to cancel everything then because the government will not allow these kind of charges and Cheryl said that I can't cancel and it's my problem and she is not going to do anything about it and she is always sold out and that's why she always gets her bonuses. I said to her at that point she is in on the scam for price line and she just laughed and thought it was funny. I then proceeded to look up price line and see what I could do to fix the problem and they said that I can't do anything they already charged me and I can't cancel and they will not add the tax exemption so I asked to speak to a manager and the person at price line just laughed and said if we even have one. I waited on hold for an hour and then someone came on and said that a manager will call me back. After about 5 more phone calls to price line I never got a manager and they refused to help me. The next day I saw Cheryl walking a dog in her pajamas while I was talking to the guy at the front desk he said that she is living in the hotel with her dog. She came up to us and said I already told you there is nothing we are going to do to help you and that it's my problem not theirs. I'm currently a Gold club member with Hilton and I can't seem to get anyone to help me and another kick to my stomach is that I can't even get the points I should've received for saying there. On the recent occasion of the onslaught of Tropical Storm Elsa my husband and I decided to err on the side of caution and vacate our mobile home during the storm. A friend of mine had recently told me about Home2 Suites so we decided to make a reservation there. We were pleasantly surprised. When we arrived the front desk was busy but they had plenty of staff on hand to move things along. The room was nice. Fully equipped with a microwave, full size fridge, dishwasher, toaster and dishes! The bed was so comfortable and the soft sheets were amazing. My family checked in on Saturday. There are 3 adults in our room. we were told we could ask for housekeeping at anytime, or it would be done on Day 4. I asked Monday to have housekeeping on Tuesday. It wasn't done. I assumed it would happen on Wednesday. it didn't. I asked to have it done on Thursday, after 11:00 am. My family arrived back to our room at 5:15 pm to an untouched room. When I went back to the front desk, he just looked at me. This was the same employee I had asked 3 times to have housekeeping done. I told him I'm used to better service from Home 2 Suites. His response was since COVID we don't do as much". I replied, your policy is every 4th day". I stay in Home 2 Suites in SC and NC and have never had this problem. As a Hilton Honors member for many years, I'm very disappointed. I've taken my own trash out, gotten my own towels each day. I don't think housekeeping one time a week is too much to ask. Spent 4 nights here last week (thru Christmas 2022). Pet-friendly is the best part: I travel with my two medium-size dogs. "Brand new" place (opened in Dec '20 I was told by front desk staff.) Clean. Friendliest front desk people (I met 3 of them). Loved the digital key and contactless checkout thru the app (maybe that's SOP at this point; I don't travel much and have never used either). The room ("suite") had everything I could have wanted, though I didn't use half of it: iron, ironing board, hair dryer, full-size microwave, medium-size fridge, plates, glasses, measuring cups, utensils, access to a hot plate for cooking . . . I only thought I'd have to go out and buy a sponge and dish liquid to wash a few things rather than put them in the dishwasher but then I found even those in one of the drawers.
