Big enough that everyone could stay together but still have their own space. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. We used the pool everyday and it was sparkling clean. There are horses and goats on the property which is a lot of fun especially because we are from an urban area. The landscape is truly gorgeous. As appetizers were passed, we noticed there were NO bacon wrapped scallops. Instead, Blue Elephant REPLACED this with some fig-thing! Apparently they were unable or simply forgot to get the scallops?? This last minute substitutions was made WITHOUT our knowledge and without ANY price adjustment/refund towards the bill, which of course they make you prepay in full. No satisfaction guarantee with this company. The plated dinner was such a disaster! The steak was so disgusting and poorly cooked, no one ate it and the brussel sprouts that accompanied it were completely inedible. How do you mess up brussel sprouts?! It was really upsetting to see all the thousands of dollars worth of food, be dumped into the trash. Some of our guests actually LEFT our wedding and brought back PIZZA!! So this is what you get when you spend thousands and hire people who claim to have 27 years of catering experience?? How embarrassing. Not to mention, you can expect a ridiculous delay in emails, expect to make numerous calls to get a hold of either Ruben or Fausto and prepare yourself for lots of confusion and unexpected menu changes without being notified or reimbursed. Our options were Keeley's or a local hotel ballroom. I was the organizer and the more I talked to the hotel event planners with their grandiose menus and high prices, the more I appreciated Keith's straightforwardness and practicality. I signed up with Keeley's. Our conference went quite well with about 50 attending. The generous space that we had included two big sections of the facility with tables and lecturn/screen in one room and displays and buffet in the other worked out very well. Their food as a part of the business special was very good with lots of variety. The day started with coffee, tea and a nice continental breakfast. Nothing fancy, but the smell of fresh baked cinnimon rolls really broke the ice with our attendees, many of whom we were meeting for the first time. The microphones, PA system and projector provided by Keeley's worked flawlessly. The high speed wifi did too. It's a family business. Keith is a good guy to work with: helpful, thoughtful and experienced. They deal with lots of wedding receptions and other family gatherings but he really likes business meetings and understands the needs of a medium sized business like ours. Other good things: Lots of (free) parking. A well kept building. Responsive staff. Timely food service. Good coordination with our needs. Easy access from I-95. 15 minutes from downtown.

There were options for everyone that were both delicious and unique. The biscuit board option was great and a nice touch for my southern family. The chicken and short rib options were fall-apart-in-your-mouth. The falafel vegetarian option -- AMAZING! In addition to the catering itself, B+B goes above and beyond with the services they include. As we got closer to the event and I was trying to check things off of my list, I began to realize that all of the small things I was stressing over, B+B was already planning to take care of them - serving options, signs for food, transporting chairs/gift table from ceremony to reception, packing up at the end of the night. They made our lives so much easier. AND I can't say enough about the day-of coordinator (Erin) and catering coordinator (Kelly). LIFE SAVERS!! They went far beyond what I would have expected for these roles. Problem solved with the Maine State Museum. It does not look from the outside that this might be a hidden gem, but it certainly was. From the old train to the operational mill tucked through several floors inside, you really get a sense of how things were working back in the day. Overall, the museum is not the fanciest around and might be a little dated, but if you take the time to read the displays and walk the whole museum, you will come away being glad you made the stop.
