We stayed here one night before our cruise from Manhattan, booked the park, stay and cruise package with shuttle to port. All staff were incredibly nice. Room was clean and spacious and surprisingly quiet considering we were right next to a busy intersection. Black out curtains were a must as the hotel is located near a heavy business area. Good news is that lots of eating places and a Target close enough to walk to. The morning of the cruise we handed our key to the front desk and they gave me a claim ticket for when we return. They moved my car to an on site covered garage for the time we were away, very secure. The shuttle was actually early which we loved and the driver was nice and a blessing to have driven thru NJ and NY traffic to get us to the ship. Dropped us off right at the terminal, so easy! When we returned, we got back early (shuttle was supposed to be there at 9a, we were off the ship by 7:30a) so I called the shuttle service and they said they are on the way! We waited about 45 mins at the meeting spot and the shuttle arrived to take us back to the hotel. The ride to the terminal was about 30 mins on a Thursday morning, the ride back to the hotel was about 20 mins on a Tuesday morning. both the shuttle drivers and the hotel staff were incredible and we would definitely book here again next time we sail out of NY. read more

I think it was recently built, was upgraded to suite, very roomy, two large tv's in the room. Lots of natural sunlight as the room was facing the west. Staff was friendly, welcoming and check in quick and simple. Plenty of parking lot, the bed was very comfortable and had a good night. read more

This hotel stole $200 I never stayed there. they claim it's a no show fee but tried to charge me for the full stay. so they manually checked me in.. Last weekend, my friends and I stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay. Check in was a breeze and Andrew at the front desk was very courteous. We reserved two rooms and they were both on the same floor. I liked that you are required to scan your hotel room key inside the elevator before you can choose your floor. The room was decent size and the bathroom was spacious. There was enough closet space with a fridge and iron. The only thing I didn't like was that the bed was too soft. Breakfast is also complimentary and it is from 7-10am on weekends. There were waffles, scrambled eggs, omelette, boiled eggs, sausage, veggie sausage, cereals, oatmeal, bagels, assorted pound cakes(poppyseed/marble), fruits, and yogurt. Ugh I do not enjoy giving Marriott hotels anything less than 4 stars, but here I am doing just that. This hotel was new(er)! Which was exciting and fantastic. Everything was clean, the staff was pleasant, the gym was simple but met my needs, and the complimentary breakfast was decent too. The location is the absolute pits! The hotel is like an island surround my one way streets and limitations on the directions that you're able to turn thus making it nearly impossible to get back down to the main drag in front of the hotel unless you loop around the neighborhood above the hotel! This was a huge pain in my butt and very confusing to navigate. The price was so much better than the hotels near the expo center, but the traffic and the location kind of sucked. read more

My boyfriend and I spent the night here. It was great service all around. They serve lemon water right when you check in. I loved the spacious bathrooms and pristine bedroom. The service was good, rooms were clean, and a nice free breakfast was provided! Eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, bagels and various sweet breads were available. They provided free transportation to the Secaucus Junction train station which is a 10 minute ride to Penn Station (they will also provide free transportation to anywhere within a three mile radius). There is also free parking onsite which was very convenient. I would stay here again! read more

We stayed in a few hotels over our 1 week visit to New York but this 1 was by far our favorite. The included breakfast saved us at least $50 a day. Eggs, Belgium waffles, sausage, bacon, toast and more. It really was good. Very clean and really well maintained property. The staff was exceptional. I especially want to thank Andrew M. He was very friendly and professional. He was always ready with a smile and did everything he could to make our stay comfortable. The rest of the staff Carlitos, Andrea, Diana, Gabriel, Valeria and Andrew F. The staff that I dont know by name were also very nice. The shuttle van was a big help and saved us money. This is a brand spanking new ultra clean hotel. It really is quite nice and the room was big and spacious and well appointed and comfortable. I gave it 5-stars because the rooms are lovely and the staff is great. There are some caveats: 1. It is very off the beaten path. If you are looking for local entertainment, I suggest you drive or Uber because there's not really anything interesting in walking distance. 2. No glasses or cooking utensils or silverware in the rooms. Minor, I know, but just FYI. 3. If you want alcohol you will have to order from a local liquor emporium, because there's none for sale. 4. The common spaces are bland, but that's not why you're there anyway. FYI, it is close to the Meadowlands. If you want to save some cash but still be in reasonable proximity to the city, I definitely recommend it. read more

Driving up the hills are a pain but their customer service is nice. there's rarely anyone at the desk though but there is free breakfast which is just bread and coffee. My main issue was that i purchased a King Bed and received a Queen. The guy at front desk was aware that i purchased a King since he repeated what I purchased and how many nights i'm staying. The hotel was new and clean. Staff was polite and friendly. Neighborhood was mostly residential and it was a hike up the hill to get to town. However, there is a Target in walking distance just a couple blocks from the hotel. Have to pay for the faster WiFi if you need it, but the free WiFi is good for surfing the web, checking social media, and checking email. Complimentary breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, omlettes (already made) fresh waffles, and an assortment of bagels and breads were ok. A shuttle is available on a hourly basis to transport you and your party within 3 miles of the hotel. Law enforcement and government rates are available. So after reading all the good reviews was still a little skeptical on staying here. My husband and I were here for a little business and pleasure trip. Arriving in North Bergen, NJ it was a little town nothing fancy so I was expecting the worse. When we pulled in to my surprise it was immaculate! It's fenced in, looks brand new. When we walked in check in was as pleasant as can be. The little guy working was so nice and attentive, not to mention lobby was absolutely beautiful! When we got in our room it was spot, super modern and gorgeous. The glass shower probably could fit at least 6 people! It's next door to Hoboken basically and 2 miles from NYC! This was an amazing place to stay. The rooms were very nice for the price. The shuttle is a life saver for getting to the train station. I read mixed reviews about it, but we had no problems making reservations and using it. The TVs were also some of the best. They were smart TVs with free HBO Go and the option to log into a personal Netflix, Hulu, etc accounts. I definitely look forward to staying again! read more

Caught in an unexpected snow storm for several hours trying to get from Hackensack to Manhattan, friends suggested the new Fairfield Inn. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!! The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and helpful being I showed up with nothing but my computer. The rate was reasonable and the accommodations had the comfort of much more expensive hotel. The room was spacious, and the bed and furnishings very comfortable. A great place to wake up and get some work done before heading out. From the front desk right through housekeeping, the staff is great. The hotel is light and bright and just a great find!! While a bit off the main path access to Manhattan is Easily accessible by bus or taxi. read more

Great hotel and front desk staff! Just stayed there this weekend while attending BTS concert at MetLife and although, I was a bit disappointed that my digital key on my Marriott App never worked. And that even though I checked in on the App as soon as they sent me notice I could, when I arrived at hotel my room was not ready. I never got notified of my room being available on the App, but I called hotel around 3:30 cause I had not gotten a call or notified, and I was told my room was now available. I drove back to hotel and checked in, but there was an issue with the type of room I was given. Although I reserved room with 2 beds I was given a king. Front desk staff were able to switch it back and get me the 2 beds, but not sure why the error was made in the first place. Hotel was VERY clean and my room was too. Room was comfortable in size, bathroom size was also good and liked the fridge in the room. Beds were comfy and I had a great sleep. Breakfast was good with various options, like scrambled eggs or cheese omelet, sausages and the usual toast,bagels, muffins. They have waffle makers and of course all the other typical quick breakfast options. Hotel has free parking which is a big plus and they have shuttle that can take you to train station in Secaucus, where you can connect to NYC. Front desk staff were all very nice and helpful and a pleasure to deal with and talk to. They also had little chocolate brownies by front desk which were very good and very welcomed after a long day out grabbing one on way to your room. read more

As any of the reviews seem to say, incredibly well run, is only the beginning. With work travel I stay daily around NY & NJ in various assortments of Marriott Fairfield Inns, Courtyards, Residence Inns, and once in a while, if needed, a Hilton of some variety. Weeks ago at a Hilton upstate I experienced an overnight 3am fire alarm that was horribly managed, front desk staff rude and yelling, and no apology or explanation after. I've been to this Fairfield Inn of North Bergen twice now, and speak of the devil...on my 2nd night, fire alarm here too at 6:40am one morning. The difference? The friendly, fun, and helpful front desk staff were on point, and management followed up. Not only did I have (before) my room upgraded "let's see what we can do!" easily, but post fire alarm, it was handled quickly, the issue resolved, and staff calm and collected in organizing everyone. The next evening, I had a typed and hand signed note in my room from the management apologizing, and offering either market items or points due to the issue. I never had to think of the issue again...they just handled it. And explained what happened. The next day checking out was extremely helpful and friendly, and once again, no stress--I asked for the points, they said thank you, and I received a receipt confirmation of them right after. This hotel is an example of how they should be run, and a very easily accessed great location too, convenient just north of NYC, and easy to get back to north Jersey spots. So I had my wedding party and friends stay at this resort and it was awful from the get-go. First they would not give me a group rate and actually the wedding rate was more expensive then if I called and book normally as a Marriott Member. Which brings me to my next point, they do not care that I was a Marriott Elite member and they said I can go somewhere else if I do not like it. After discussing with them IN DETAIL how I need a Presidential Suite for my fiancé to get ready in with all of her girlfriends and make-up artist they assured me it was a suite and is why they raised the price of the room. So they charge me one night on the room even though I am giving them 12+ rooms they would haven't gotten if it wasn't for my wedding. The "SUITE" is a regular room with a little couch. My fiancé and I by ourselves could barely get ready and move in there. They said it was the biggest room they have and that's why they call it the "presidential/honeymoon suite". Finally, I asked If I could have a conference room for breakfast the morning after the wedding. They said they can reserve it from 9-11am so that is what I told all of my guests. Turns out, they stop serving breakfast at 10am so when people came down at 10am they couldn't eat! why wouldn't you tell me this so I can move the times of the breakfast up?? This place was awful and people dealing with were just as bad. I would never recommend staying at this place for any reason. read more
