As a Titanium Elite member it is not often we have to wait on a room to be ready before check in. I checked in on the app and informed them I would arrive at 2pm to check in. It is now 3pm and I am still sitting in the lobby waiting for housekeeping to call the front desk and let them know a room is ready. I have seen no less than 4 housekeepers walking around in the lobby, stopping to chat with one another or a front desk person. Couldn't one of them be getting the room ready? Wow. If you have an early flight this is a great place to stay right near the airport. They have coffee and breakfast ready for you in the morning. The room was clean and great for what I needed. Walked over to the Marriott for a bistro dinner where I could watch the World Series. But the best part was Tracey and Stefan. They made me and my sister-in-law chuckle and laugh and have fun. Was really glad to have met them. They were professional yet friendly and fun and glad to have found the place. read more

Last time we stayed at this Fairfield Inn & Suites was back in 2017, good thing I wrote a review, it helped me while searching for a hotel during this recent PNW trip. Reading my review helped bring back memories of our stay. My husband mentioned to book this hotel again during our future trips, he loved how convenient the location is, closer to most places we had plans to visit. I agree with him. When we stayed back in 2017, they had the renovations going on, looks much nicer, brand new Fairfield Inn. We checked in to hotel earlier than our check in time, luckily our room were ready. We requested for ground floor rooms so we save time from the elevators. Manager Natalia was super nice checking us in, after a nice shower, I got to put in a few hour of sleep since we had a long overnight flight, then we heading out to start our PNW vacation. Upon entering back to hotel with bunch of bags from shopping, the front desk staff even asked if we needed help. Loved the greetings when we arrived back. Took advantage of the hotel's complimentary breakfast and coffee, enjoying a Ruby Jewel's lemon lavender ice cream treat from the hotel marketplace. had a great nice rest! 5 stars for the service. I had a flight snafu where I was stuck overnight and needed to find a place to stay. My shuttle driver was fast picking me up and getting me to the hotel (shout out to Steven! He's the best!)...one thing I noticed is, he took the time to drive down to everyone because he said sometimes people don't hear or they're busy doing something that they miss the shuttle...he was right! We picked up a straggler. Once I got to the hotel I was checked in and up in my room in less than 15 minutes! The room was very clean, it was so comfortable and although I only stayed for a few hours, I really enjoyed it. The front desk scheduled a shuttle to take me back to the airport and that shuttle driver was also exceptional. It's not the ritz Carlton but the pricing was great, proximity to the airport was great and the customer service is what will have me coming back. read more

We stayed here for the night after flying into Portland for our spring break vacation on the Oregon coast, this is definitely one of the nicer Marriott properties we have stayed at in a while, the rooms were clean and look like they may have been recently renovated. Always love the beds at Marriott, super comfortable and our room was great, it has a microwave, fridge and coffee. The breakfast area was clean and very well kept with lots of breakfast options for all food types and the coffee was excellent, we asked for extra towels and received them promptly from house keeping. Overall a great stay and would recommend for family and or business travel. Close proximity also to PDX and lots of food options nearby. read more

Stayed here a year ago and last time I wondered if a tornado had hit the hotel. Major construction was going on. A year later and I see the progress with repairs but the hotel has not had any needed updates and for some reason repairs are still ongoing. For example the keys to the room are NOT the modern "tap" keys, you have to insert them in the slot. They also do not have internet TV (no Nexflix). Bathroom fixtures are low quality (can't adjust the shower head or change the water pressure). Instead of a thermostat on the wall where you set the temperature for the room there is a noisy ground unit where you pick heat or cool and fan speed. Beds are comfortable and I liked that they actually have HBO (but a few of the TV channels were not working). Hotel internet was also pretty good. Fitness center is always open and has cardio and free weights. However they only CLEAN it like once a week! I had to bring a room towel with me because they usually didn't have any. The hotel breakfast is awful (even for hotel breakfast standards). The waffle mix is thick and heavy. They don't make oatmeal (have packets that you make yourself and add hot water, and never had biscuits and gravy. I stayed for 12 nights this time, and when I checked in they told me housekeeping would come every 3 days. I never knew when they would come so I always left a thank you note and a tip for the housekeeper (I know they are under paid and have a tough job). I also try to keep the room we clean as possible for them. After 4 days and no housekeeping I requested someone come the next day. They came and to their tip. For the rest of my stay someone came everyday! Not sure if it was to get their daily tip or because I complained (or both?). Employees at the hotel were nice enough but they lacked that pride of ownership you look for. This place was just a job for them. Hotel is also tricky to access and find. It is on a busy street and the hotel has no sign on the building. If you come from one direction you CANT TURN LEFT INTO THE HOTEL and you have to go around. When you go around the sign off that street is small and the entrance is not obvious and easy to pass. Next time I will pay a little extra and stay at the Courtyard or Springhill Suites. read more

I have stayed at this hotel many times and never had a problem, I like the showers here. Upon getting my bill I noticed there was a $8 fee for parking. The manager said it was recently implemented to be in line with the other hotels. There are no gates, to me was just a cash grab. I have cancelled my future reservations with this hotel. What good is loyalty to a hotel when they nickel and dime you to death. There really is no real benefit being Titanium. Its bad enough you dont get your room cleaned everyday. Stayed here for 1 night for business. It is a short 10 minute drive from the airport and they offer free shuttle service. Pros: Free, efficient shuttle service. I waited for about 15 minutes at the shuttle stop (Exit arrivals level, cross street and left hand side. Probably best to follow signs). Hot breakfast options Cons: Hotel could use a renovation For price paid, it was ok. I would probably stay here again when coming for a short trip to Portland. read more

Free breakfast included but with COVID you have to request the food at the front desk and the selection is minimal (yogurt, breakfast burritos, instant oatmeal and fresh fruit). The hotel is a little older than what the pictures suggest and the walls are fairly thin as I can hear the kids next door opening and closing the dresser drawers at midnight along with a dog barking. There's also a train close by so if you're a light sleeper it may be hard to get a full night's rest. I was a little worried about staying too close to downtown with how the world is right now so it's nice and far enough away but also close enough to make food runs. Overall a pretty standard place to stay just don't expect any extra flairs. read more

We were very disappointed in our stay. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, it seemed like the property was run down. Walking from our car to the entrance, the landscaping seemed like it hadn't been kept up. The nicest part of our stay was when we entered into the lobby and were greeted by a wonderful staff member at the counter. She was incredibly nice, thanked us for being a Gold Elite member, asked where we preferred our room, and was overall amazing and did everything with a smile. We went to our room and entered a very hot room, and the A/C was turned on. We checked, and it was set on the lowest setting possible. We thought possibly it had just been turned on, but we were wrong. It was hot all night, without any way to cool down. Since it was so hot, we decided to get some ice for water to cool off. We headed to the ice area as directed on the map in the room. We walk down the also warm hallway to the ice machine. We get there to see no ice machine, but only some pipes in the wall. So, down to the floor below to get ice. We checked out early in the morning, and the person at the front desk seemed like they couldn't care less what was happening as we walked out the front door to catch our flight. This is not what we typically experience or expect from a Marriott property. read more

Planning for our 3-day trip to Portland for the Rose City Comic Con event was slightly stressful. Wanted to make sure everything was reasonably within distance; costs were affordable; and plans were set in 'stone'. Initially when searching for a hotel, one of the 'perks' I was looking for was to be able to reserve ahead, on specific dates, and pay later aka at the hotel. I find that to be a very convenient option and it saves stress. Obvi, you can see from my 5 stars that this was a positive experience.... but read on for my 'grid list' :-) -- Aesthetics: Hotel looked, felt, smelled, and appeared clean. I can't stress enough how much I worry over the thought of bed bugs, or unusual stains, unclean bathrooms, etc. No complaints here for us personally. -- Cleanliness: Kinda already answered this, but the hotel was kept very nice and also organized. -- Convenience: Although we didn't use it, they did offer complimentary shuttle service to the Airport, but we drove in our own vehicle. -- Employees: Unfortunately, I did not mark down any names. But when we did arrive, it was like..... 3 AM.... some ridiculous wolf call hour....and the night/early AM clerk didn't ask questions, she didn't hassle.... in fact, because many people were staying here for the comic con, she had a clipboard list and said, "You must be the (name)?" I laughed, yuuuuup. She said we were the last event family to arrive. -- Food: Oh, wow! So the hotel offered complimentary breakfast each morning and this is not your run-of-the-mill bagel and yogurt. They had eggs, hash browns, waffles, bagels, muffins, bfast meat, fruit, cereal, oatmeal.... basically a whole spread. And, I even witnessed staffers diligently replacing items that had run out. This does NOT happen at other hotels sometimes. A+++++ -- Kids: We do not have (human) children, but I can certainly see this hotel being perfect and quiet for large families. Don't forget that AM breakfast! -- Location: Centrally located to restaurants, bars, amenities.... and it was like 20 minutes to the convention center. -- Perks: Obviously being able to pay later at the hotel is a perk in my book. Always try planning ahead via apps or the direct hotel website. -- Pets: I am unclear if this is allowed at this hotel location, but it would be favorable for us in a future visit. -- Prices: 2 nights.... NO BED BUGS.... clean, safe, free parking, less than $300. -- Safety: Lighted, private, free parking on the hotel property! -- What makes this 5 star review? Again, can't beat the fantastic breakfast they offered. No issues with billing. Comfortable private room. Centrally located. Clean restrooms. Don't go here ...there was a cockroach on the wall of room 305 so we had to spray all of our luggage with insecticide upon return home and wash all of our clothes since we had our suitcases open until we saw the cockroach on the wall. No Spa, no pool, entry was a construction zone with heavy equipment. We checked out early because we were dizzy, maybe pesticides? No breakfast since it wasn't served until 7:00 a.m. only positive was the nice staff at check-in so two stars. Unfortunately we didn't read the reviews or we would not have stayed here. read more

Will never be coming back here again. To start the story off, my husband and I got stranded in PDX during the recent ice storm. We called here and they had one room left. I called at 9am and they offered to allow us to check in right away because of the circumstances, which was really kind. So we caught the shuttle and made our way over. When we got there (now 10am) the same lady I talked to on the phone is now claiming they may or may not have any rooms available by 4pm. When I explained that she told me on the phone we could check in she claims it could have been anyone in the hotel (and since when does your landscape team answer the phones at the front desk?). So I responded and said "so you can confirm there is still a room available for me later?" And she says "check in is between 3 and 4". This same statements continued 3x. I kept telling here that's not what I was asking, I need confirmation I have a place to stay. Which she could never give me despite telling me an hour before they had a room available right away. Very frustrating. So I sat down and within 5 minutes she suddenly had a room fully available? All that for nothing? No apology no nothing. But we are thankful there was a room. Now after all this they put my Marriott points on the wrong account and claim there is nothing they can do but I will have to call a number they gave me. Super unhelpful and all over the place. Will never stay here again or any Fairfield inn for that matter. Super displeased. read more

We had a fabulous stay here. One thing that stood out is that this place is super clean! The staff was cleaning CONSTANTLY! Second, the breakfast was nice. The complimentary breakfast buffet is wonderful - make your own waffles, cold and hot cereal, fresh fruit, juice, hot chocolate, fruit yogurt, eggs and meats...awesome! My kids enjoy the fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate available all day long! There is good news and bad news about this hotel's location. The good new is it is convenient to both the airport and Route 5. The bad news is it is convenient to Route 5 causing a traffic back-up of commuters and other travelers for hours in the afternoon and early evening. We arrived at around 2PM and encountered a problem trying to enter the parking lot due to the aforementioned traffic. On entering we were quickly checked in to room 310 which included a king size bed. The room was rather small, but we were only staying the night. The complimentary breakfast the following morning was pretty much typical of all Fairfield Inns I have visited. I managed to consume OJ, some fruit and yogurt, a pre-made cheese omelet, breakfast potatoes and tasteless sausages. read more

We passed through Portland on the way to our vacation destination, and just wanted to nice place to spend the night. The Fairfield Inn fit the bill. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, parking and wifi are free, and the room temperature was great! These are all the things that are kind of the "must have" items for us to have a good night stay. Also, the nearby air traffic was not bothersome at all. One plus for this hotel is that they stated that it is a "Pet-free" hotel, and required service animals to be registered with the front desk. We have to worry about pet allergies when staying in "pet friendly" hotels, and when I'm on vacation, I would prefer to not hear my neighbors, or their pets when I'm trying to sleep. I had my sisters baby shower on Nov. 6th in the banquet room. The staff went above and beyond with accommodating us. We felt very welcomed and anything we needed they were there to help. Coffee, tea, water, and ice provided. 3-4 staff members checked in on us throughout the day. Brought us ice when needed, gave change when asked, made sure we didn't need anything more and I'm sure there was more. I was very happy with renting out the banquet room. The room was not quite ready as it was just noon, but being in the marriott rewards club, we would wait for the upgrade. This hotel is close to airport and 205 but surprisingly quite. Close to Costco, and short run to Vancouver or downtown Portland. Also just down the street from our Pdx church. The bed was perfect to sleep like a log, it's been a long week and the kind greeting at front desk was a great start to the weekend. Being here for business and a funeral pop up in the meantime kept us going. The breakfast had a nice surprise of roasted potatoes not sure it's the norm or just for the Sunday morning? Plus with the usual eggs, cheese omelet, and turkey sausage (what a plus)patties. Very nicely arranged. U could tell the server really cared as it was well attended. I had the "cheese omelette " (air quotes are intentional). Might have been powdered eggs - lacked flavor but with pepper, salt and hot sauce it was ok. The room was clean. A great deal for a weekend room while in town visiting family and friends. Very quiet, despite the proximity to the airport no noise to complain about there either! Friendly and fast front desk staff. They always offer wake-up service and assume everyone has a flight to catch. I appreciate that attentiveness even though I'm always driving in and out, the airport area is just always so much more convenient, cheaper and safer than other Portland locations. Comfortable rooms. Plumbing is a bit outdated, both rooms I've had these last two stays you had to be careful to make sure the toilets flushed completely. The shower took awhile to drain as well. Rooms are not huge but not cramped. Updated as well as to be expected for a $100 a night place should be. They are drab for interior appearances but that's my only nitpick. read more

This place is nice. Its clean and the staff is very friendly. It's also close to the airport. In fact it's right on the flight path so if airplane noise bothers you, you may not like it here. They've got a free breakfast and a free business center with a printer. This place could use a little updating but I'd stay here again. It's super convenient to the airport and highway 205. I used my Marriott Rewards and paid the difference for a two night stay. The front desk was friendly and let me know where everything was at. They have a shuttle, which I did not use. There is a Burger King a few hundred feet away that looked like nobody ever ate at. Across the street is a Subway and a liquor store. Within driving distance is a shopping center at Cascades. The hotel was your usual hotel, nothing too fancy. It does have a microwave and mini fridge, pluses for me. The bed looks like it sinks in a little in the middle, but it worked well for my sleep. You are next to the airport and will hear the planes. I only heart them twice, once each night. I was doing other things and the planes did not bother me. For those that complain about the noise of the planes, don't stay near the airport if you're a light sleeper. Loved the free wifi. I never understand why expensive hotels charge, and other ones don't. Free parking, breakfast, coffee 24/7. Breakfast had scrambled eggs and sausage, bagels, english muffins, muffins, bananas and apples, oatmeal with some raisins and walnuts for toppings and waffles. They also had some mixed fruit, but it looked old so I didn't try it. The tv looked a little fuzzy, it wasn't super sharp, but it did swivel. I loved that they always have coffee out, with real cream! I hate powdered packets. There was the option of hazlenut, vanilla, and 3 other flavors as well as tea. There is a gym and a swimming pool. I only used the weight machine, which works fine but is a little old. I did have to hold down the handle on the toilet if I wanted to make sure everything flushed. Wow! Nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. First off, my family and I chose Fairfield for its convenience near PDX, free shuttle service, and free breakfast. I didn't expect much from our one night stay. We usually stay at boutique or four+ star hotels, but I was surprised. Our room was comfortable enough for our family of four and had updated contemporary/modern furniture, bedding, decor, etc. Simple and pleasant to the eye. It had everything we needed for our quick stay. Paul Mitchell toiletries, extra towels, enough pillows, ya know, your basics. But the important ones. I should note, I never heard any planes fly at night. Yayy, sleep! I didn't expect much from breakfast, but Fairfield Inn did a great job!! I didn't eat everything due to dietary restrictions, but it all looked great: waffles, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs!!! This was a major score for us! All the employees we encountered: shuttle drivers, receptionists, housekeeping, were so polite and professional. It was a sigh of relief from our crazy traveling experience. My stay at the Fairfield has been very nice. I am here now with my two boys as we go see family in the area. The hotel is clean and the room (two doubles) has enough space for the three of us. The beds remind me that it might be time for me to get a new one when i get home. The matress is firm, yet very comfortable. There is airplane noise when the flight patterns change going into Portland International, however I expected this when I saw the hotels location. My family and I enjoyed the breakfast. It is your typical waffle bar, fruit, pastries and juice. The difference here for me was seeing breakfast sandwhiches available. I did try one and while the smell was wonderful, the taste was...well, so, so (I know I am not rating Jimmy Dean). I would return...and plan on it when I visit family again. read more

I stayed here overnight at the end of March in order to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. Note that it's still a few miles from the airport (a 5-10 minute drive), but they do offer a free airport shuttle and free overnight parking. The front desk check-in process was friendly and expedient. The room was basic but clean, and the bedding appeared to be newer. The complimentary breakfast starts at 6 am which was too late for my early flight, so I can't speak to the quality. The best part -- and this is completely rare for Marriotts -- was that there was no offensive Gideon bible in the guestroom! I would stay here again just to reward them for this. read more

I had to go to Portland for work recently and ended up staying at the Fairfield Inn. There is nothing fancy about this hotel. The front desk staff was great! The room I stayed in was clean, but the walls were thin. I could easily hear the TV of my neighbor, as well as his phone conversations. It's a small hotel, 3 floors. It was 100% full when I stayed, so parking was a bit difficult in the evenings. At rush hour, the street this hotel is on is jam packed, however, for my purposes the location was prime for access to my work location. In a pinch, I would stay here again. read more

Yes, it is "only" a Fairfield Inn but both recent visits went off without a hitch. The rooms were fine - nothing exceptionally bad or exceptionally good about them. Breakfast is nice: multiple kinds of make-your-own waffle batter, sausage, eggs, plus the usual continental items. A plus to those with early flights: some cold items including fruit and yogurt are available from 3am each morning. Coffee, hot chocolate, and hot tea are available in the lobby 24 hours a day. Parking is free and should be enough even when the hotel is full. As a plus, there are some wild rabbits living in the shrubs. Sometimes they pop their heads out to greet you. read more

Decent airport hotel, stayed here for conference that was commuting to Concordia U everyday, worked ok with a car. The shopping area between this hotel and the airport is a good thing to have in a pinch. The location is also pretty easy to get out towards the Columbia River Gorge or Mt. Hood, so that was a plus as well. The staff were great and very accommodating, especially when things with the group got confusing. Rooms were ok, large, and a bit noisy from the road if you're on the north side. No real complaints. read more
