Lovely boutique hotel in old town Portland. For parking, they offer valet or a discount at a parking lot just one block over. Right off the bridge and Burnside, at the crux of old town and Portland's Chinatown. Nearby are Old Town Pizza & Brewery, the Society Hotel, Voodoo Doughnuts, the river and park by the river; down the way is Powell's Books. Yes, downtown can be tricky in any city these days. We had no problems going back and forth for dinner and also walking our dog. The hotel is right next to the iconic Chinatown gateway and lion dogs. The hotel itself is marvelous. Hassle free and lovingly designed and decorated. It has a small coffee and pastry bar, a cocktail bar, and a place to hang upstairs called Tope. We loved the vibe and all of the unique parts of the stay experience, such as coffee cups engraved with "99 problems...coffee ain't one" and the lovely city view if you get lucky. Valet is topnotch. So helpful and courteous. Front desk is exceptionally friendly and also helpful. Recommend to do what we did - an overnighter to check it out.

We had to find a last minute hotel in Portland and really lucked out! This boutique type hotel is quiet, funky and versatile! Small rooms available. We got "the snug " since we really didn't need much space over the weekend. We walked and explored the area and pearl district from this hotel and they have a supercool speakeasy as well as a rooftop restaurant.. clean, hip and fun at the Hoxton.

Hotel: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Room: 5 stars Lobby: 5 stars Rooftop bar: 5 stars... So, why 4 star review? The location of The Hoxton, Portland in the Old Town neighborhood is not great. Outside the front door of the hotel is the largest unhoused population in the PDX. In our experience, they weren't hostile, but at times, it was uncomfortable. That said, some upsides to the location is that they are one block from Voodoo Donuts Old Town, and just a little further, Stumptown Coffee - score! Other than the location? The Hoxton, Portland was fantastic in every way. The room is super cozy and relaxing. The lobby is a great working space during the day, and a nice, chill cocktail bar in the late afternoon. I'm sure it gets livelier in the evening, but we weren't there to find out. Front desk team was always friendly and ready to help. And the rooftop bar/resto, "Tope," has great eats and drinks, including a really solid cocktail list. There's also a speakeasy bar in the basement - we wanted to check it out but didn't find the time - note: to enter the speakeasy bar, you have to exit the hotel and enter on a side street. The coffeeshop in the lobby has very limited hours - so while it's not the most reliable, a Stumptown location is just 5 minutes walk. Would I stay at The Hoxton, Portland again? Absolutely - quite simply for the room and lobby space themselves, along with the friendly, helpful service, it's a relaxing vacation just being inside the hotel's walls.

Cute little boutique hotel right at the start of Chinatown. The area is not the best, but the hotel was fine. We were just having a little staycation and loved the decor and vibe. Room and hotel was clean and inviting. Staff was nice enough. It was perfect for what we needed. In our two night stay we did have a time when we needed towels and it was a good 2 hours and three phone calls until we received them. Also, our tv never connected to which we were told the "engineer" would be right up to take a look... We never did see the engineer. Not a huge deal as we did have a lap top and just ended up using that. All in all, we would stay again.

Ok REALLY love this hotel, I didn't give it a 5 star because our room was so damn tiny. I didn't hate it because it was just me and my friend who both are tiny and we were only staying for 1 night. And the front desk did say she can give us a more spacious room if needed but we didn't really want to cause any trouble because we literally were just going to drop our stuff off and maybe sleep for a few hrs before we check out anyway. But, super cute, new, remodeled hotel. First sight, I didn't even know it was a hotel but once we walk in there's an instant rush of good vibes. To the right small little coffee shop area and to the left is a dining/bar area. Straight ahead is many comfy lounge chairs/sofas and the front desk. It kind of had a coffee shop feel where people just come and hang out with their lap tops and just do work. Super cute atmosphere. We didn't get to go to the top floor but there's a dining area up there as well with views. The hallways could be a tad spooky, hallways are narrow and dark. The room we got was very small but it had everything you would need in room. The bathroom as well was tiny but looked so clean and new. I would definitely stay here again but I would probably get a bigger room.

I absolutely loved the Hoxton! From the moment we checked in we had a great experience. Sarah told us about some of the amenities at the hotel as well as gave us some suggestions on good neighborhoods to visit. We dropped our bags at the desk and Sarah called us when our room was ready. The mid-century modern touches are everywhere in this beautiful hotel and I loved all the light fixtures and details. We got a "snug" room, which is pretty tiny. However, it was just fine for two people for two nights. There are cubbies under the bed for stashing your carryon, a mini fridge with free water and milk, electric kettle with coffee and tea, a safe, hair dryer, books to read, a radio, hotel guide, and a cute foldout map. The bathroom was small too, but the shower was great. The a/c kept us nice and cool at night and provided some white noise to drown out some street noise in the early morning. I was blown away by the amenities and design touches throughout this hotel, especially given the price point. For example: -beer, wine, and snacks available for sale at the desk at grocery store prices -locally made products featured in the rooms also for sale, including soap, mugs, lotion, candles, etc. -free bikes to borrow -on site restaurant, coffee bar, rooftop bar, and secret speakeasy bar -framed artwork in the elevators -free breakfast bag with fruit, granola bar, and orange juice -cool artwork and fun local facts on the room keys -discount for future stays at any of their locations I would definitely stay here again. The location isn't too bad, we just avoided walking around at night. There is a Hoxton in Chicago that I can't wait to check out! The only small complaint I had was the automatic lights in the bathroom would come on in the middle of the night if you went to the bathroom - I couldn't figure out how to shut this off so it was a bit jarring.

Seriously the best people work here. This was the best experience I've ever had at any hotel. Everyone was so friendly and the room was perfect. It is a boutique hotel and some of the rooms can be "cozy" which we all know in real-estate is code word for "cramped" but this was not the case with the double bed room we reserved. It was modern without being sterile and Vann, who worked the front desk, gave us all kinds of recommendations from food to sites to coffee. He was a wealth of information and often checked in with us to see how our trip was going and made sure we were never bored or not having fun.

No drama, no confusion, just keys in hand and off you go. The building itself has that great old Portland movie-era charm. It feels like the kind of place where a film star from the 1940s might walk around the corner at any moment looking for a martini. Instead it's usually just me looking for the elevator, but still... the vibe is excellent. Parking is on the next block over and surprisingly easy, which in Portland counts as a minor miracle. I've spent more time looking for parking at grocery stores. Now let's talk about the Driftwood Bar. Do not skip it. Curt the bartender is the kind of guy who makes you want to cancel your plans and just sit there all evening solving the world's problems over a well-made drink. Friendly, funny, and he actually knows how to make a proper cocktail. I wish I had more time to just saddle up to the bar and chat with him. Breakfast at Gracie's was also great. Our waitress Erin took care of us Wednesday morning when the place was mostly empty. Service was friendly, the food looked like someone actually cared when they put it on the plate, and the prices were totally reasonable. No $38 "artisanal avocado toast with existential despair." Just good breakfast done right. So what more do you want? Comfortable clean bed, reasonable prices, great bar, solid breakfast, and you're right in the heart of Portland. If you're staying in the city and want a hotel with character instead of a bland corporate sleep box, Hotel Deluxe is the move. I'll definitely be back...

Home base for 3 nights while I was in town for a friend's wedding…read more I've been coming to PDX for nearly 9 years now, but this was my first time staying downtown. I've always stayed with a friend who lives outside of town. My stay here was enjoyable. Most notably, the bed was super comfortable and soft. I slept so well. The blackout curtains was a nice touch. The weather didn't permit for early morning activities so I always slept in. I took one star for a couple of reasons. First being that I tried to check in about an hour before the 4pm checkin time thinking it would be accommodated, but alas that was not the case. I checked in my luggage and walked across the bridge and got a much needed caffeinated beverage. I got back under an hour and was finally able to get in my room. The room was clean, but not even 5 mins into me unpacking, housekeeping was at my front door asking if I had found anything in the drawer. There was in fact the previous guest's clothing in 2 of the drawers. So yeah, that was off putting. The second thing is that there was in fact no tea in my room. It would've been nice to have it at night when it was colder. Pros: I appreciated that the bathroom had all the products needed which was perfect since I forgot to bring shampoo. Also not a fan of the daily charge for the amenities. Personally, I think only the guests who use the fitness facilities should be charged said fees. It feels like highway robbery to be charged $29 daily when you don't use the gym. What if I was here a full week? That's bonkers. I got to use the gym the day I checked out. This area was dramatically quieter than the other side of the bridge. That's where the riff raffery was. It always felt so relaxing as soon as I entered the front door. As soon as I got to my room, it was silence. The Providence Park tram stop is just 2 mins away on foot. This means you can take the red line to the airport ins of taking an uber. I made sure to have breakfast at Gracie's and a nightcap at Driftwood, both on the opposite side of reception.

We chose the Duniway for its convenient location and 4 star rating. Upon arrival, we temporarily parked in front of the hotel to check in.  The parking garage is next door and is $35 per night (as of July 2026).  Your room key will also be your ticket for self-parking and allows you to enter and exit throughout the day as well. Just remember to keep one key when you check out, so you can get out of the garage. After parking, you will take an elevator to the hotel lobby. The lobby area was quite nice, it was well decorated and full of comfy seating. The open space makes the froont desk, bar and the restaurant all easily visible from the front desk. Then we made it to our room. We got upgraded to a corner king bed room and it was quite spacious. It has everything you'll need, like a coffee machine, hair dryer, a good sized TV, an ironing board and soft bath robes. The bed was large and comfortable, and the black out curtains kept the room dark for sleeping. Since we were close to the heart of the Portland's downtown, there was some noise at night. Overall, it wasn't bad. Another perk of the Duniway is its location. It is about 5 blocks away from the waterfront, and we had no problem watching the fireworks and getting away from the crowds once they finished. It was nice to walk everywhere without worrying about parking and traffic.    We had one breakfast and one dinner in Mayfield and enjoyed our food. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Though there were many food choices within walking distance, it's great to have options right at the hotel, especially with the food and beverage credits offered via AMEX. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were a few things we wish could be better, such as sound insulation between the rooms, the empty conditioner bottle in the shower and lack of hot tub in the pool area. However, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly., and the location is very convenient. We felt very taken care of and would like to return for another staycation.

I like their garage, it's 35 dollars a day and you get in and out with your room key. The hotel itself is really pretty, lots of woods and warm decor throughout. What I didn't like was the lack of customer service. We checked in around midnight on a Tuesday and front desk seemed almost annoyed at us being there. For a more upscale hotel I'd expect more pleasant interaction. My friend who checked in the next day also had a similar experience. She handed us the paper explaining the Amex benefits but did not review with us. Also, when we checked we were told we'd have a city view, however the keypad to our door wasn't working to we had to go back to the front desk with our luggage, get a new room, bring the luggage to the new without a new room without much apology. The rooms our pretty but our room had paint chipping and the headboards were damaged. Again, not something I'd expect from an upscale hotel. Went down for coffee the next day and again, the service was appropriate but not pleasant. The employee just kind of stood there and waited for me to order without a greeting or a good morning. I enjoyed pool, it's simple and indoors, there are no recliners by the pool. The patio area is right outside with lots of places to hangout and a giant chest set. The fitness center is open 24 hours and has a peloton that I wanted to use. Be mindful if you're ok the 11th floor you're gonna be smelling chlorine anytime you walk out the elevator. The only good interaction i had with a staff member was with Victoria one morning at the front desk. I had some questions about the Amex and gold member credits and she was so helpful and patient. Shout out to Victoria. It's not a bad hotel but I wanted more for the price we paid, honestly next time we may just stay at the Hilton across the street for a cheaper price and maybe enjoy the lobby happy hour at Duniway if we choose to.
