The hotel we stayed at in Portland was the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel. It is right next to the water, with some boats that have cute Christmas lights at night. Overall this hotel was an average hotel I picked it because it was for Amex and I needed to use my credit before the year-end. During our stay, the fire alarm went off and that was insanely loud. No one can sleep through that. Gladly when we came down to the lobby they stated that it was a false alarm. Soon after about an hour or so we got a text message saying that it was a false alarm. I did enjoy the breakfast here at the lobby! That was actually pretty delicious and I would say to try it out. The beds and comfortable and you can also bring your dog into this hotel which is kind of cool! That was a bonus seeing all the different-sized dogs roaming around. read more

I have stayed here 3 times now and appreciate the location, friendly staff and pet friendly policy. For that I'd have given 4 stars, even though the decor is somewhat dated. Unfortunately, every time I've gotten the bill it was different from what I booked online so ended up having to go over it and still get charged more than I expected. The reason I will no longer be staying there is because I left 2 expensive bracelets in the bathroom (totally my fault and not typical for me) and they were NOT turned in by housekeeping to lost and found. I had to call and follow up over the course of 6 days. For a hotel that charges well over $300 a night and much more I would hope to get items returned, not stolen! read more

We were only in town for two nights and stayed at the Kimpton. There was a great breakfast place and two dinner places we visited only a short walk along the river. Loved that we could walk. We used it as our home base for hiking the Multnomah Wahkeena Columbia Gorge as it was only about 25 minutes away. One afternoon, I sat in the hotel bar, drank a glass of wine and enjoyed my book and writing postcards. Our view from the 4th floor overlooking the river was lovely. We used valet parking which was quick and easy. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Rooms were cool and dark for sleeping. Rooms were clean and spacious. TV was big. What an awesome time! This has to be the best location for a hotel in Portland, a great water view, a quiet area and easy to navigate. We headed down to Portland for a much needed get-away and we booked a king Suite with the water-view. This is the only way to stay at this hotel. This place was large, clean, super comfortable and quiet. The only negative thing was the snacks were old, the chilled (in frig) sparkling water had no sparkle left to it and the cashews had a odd, old taste to them. UGH. Otherwise, the bar and restaurant area was great. Good wine and we got to enjoy the patio with more views. The next morning, we ordered room service and it was super-tasty and boy were they fast. I used to stay at other historic hotels downtown, but this place has definitely become my new favorite. (Just please change out out-dated snacks!!). read more

When friends come to visit, I recommend Kimpton RiverPlace for the service, views, and neighborhood. While they are technically downtown, they are off the beaten path. Located right on the Willamette River, most rooms offer stunning views of the river, Hawthorne Bridge and Marina. The RiverPlace Esplanade is steps from the door so guests can get in their daily stroll along a paved path that goes north through Tom McCall Oark or sout towards the South Waterfront. Either direction, it's beautiful. The lobby and bar area has a lodge aesthetic with big comfy chairs, a fireplace, and bar with lounge area. Happy Hours are great, and in nice weather, extend out onto the wrap around porch. Highly recommend grabbing an Adirondack chair on the porch and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail while the sun goes down. Rooms are appointed in the same upscale lodge theme that is both beautiful and comfortable. The rooms are large and spacious with huge windows that allow you to enjoy the views, including at night during sunset when the colors envelope the river, and at night with the lights if the city and bridges in the distance. Make sure to get a room with a soaking tub for the ultimate pampering. Service is exceptional adding to the overall experience. read more

2 stars = "could've been better" for Yelp. That's this place. I've stayed at several Kimpton Hotels (IHG Hotels & Resorts) in different locations around the world, and they always seem to fall into one of two categories (really, IHG, in general, is like this). They are either new luxury properties that have been recently opened and are stunning and amazing, or they are older luxury properties that are well-maintained but show their age. This hotel is the latter. The restaurant (separate review) and parts of the lobby have clearly been remodeled, but the rooms have not. We had a suite with a wood-burning fireplace. The was nice. But the decor was dated (my spouse called it "19th-century men's luxury hunting lodge chic"). When was the last time you saw a timer-on-the-wall-driven heat lamp in a luxury hotel bathroom? 1980 something, right? That's just one example to make the point. The room colors and furnishings are also very 1980s. The hotel was built in 1985 and last renovated (and, again, I think it was a partial renovation from the looks of things) in 2013. It desperately needs a refresh. The location is stunning, and the service was great. The bones of the old place are solid, and it is well maintained. But at this price point ($400-$500 per night for a fireplace suite plus parking), I expect much more than what this dated property can provide. We won't be returning until it's been remodeled and is worth the high price point. Right now, it is not worth the money. read more

This was an AMEX stay and it was absolutely fantastic! Let's start with the fact that our room was upgraded upon arrival. The room had a cabin feel to it but it was pretty spacious and cute. It was a 1-bedroom suite. The bedroom it self was small and cozy and then there was a small living area with a couch, fridge, table and TV and then the bathroom. I liked it. We received a welcome wine and a personalized note. The customer service was elite. Every day they have happy hour from 5-6pm and we took full advantage of it. The gym was also great and we went there a couple of times. With our AMEX stay, we also had a free breakfast every morning at "King Tide Fish" (the hotel restaurant) which did have cap of $60/day; it covered a drink (latte) and a main dish. Tip was extra. We also had a resort credit we used to get lunch one day. There is a Yelp check-in offer for a special of the day and when we checked in (on our last day at breakfast), we got 6 oysters. It's crazy because i have only ever had raw oysters once ever in my life and it was in 2011 (It's not as a random specificity as you'd think I promise, trust me). Anyway, have not had raw oysters since then. And then we had oysters that morning and the day before at lunch. They were okay but i also don't get the hype behind Oysters so maybe don't hold me to it. The last thing i'll say is that the customer service was elite. There was one front desk person who truly made us feel special every time we saw him and he saw us. I don't remember his name but whatever you pay him is definitely not enough. He truly made our stay special. they also were able to mail my stamped postcards for me In terms of security, the main doors even require you to have a key card to enter the hotel. A key card also has to be used to even use the elevator. So overall the security is great. The location of the hotel is right on the water, by a park. it is an exceptional, very outdoorsy location. Our once beloved staycation for the last decade is longer the Kimpton we have come to enjoy. Maybe it was the merger with the IHG umbrella that led to the exiting of the quality top notch staff they once employed. Basic givens for status upgrades & perks were not honored the last 5 stays even though our reservations were made well in advance. Each disappointing checkin was promised that special notes were highlighted that it would not happen again. Well nothing changed and went the same motions for the staff to apologize for their shortcomings & mistakes. On the website they boast about river views but the hospitality team in years past would pride themselves in Kimpton class and that is what kept us coming back. As a IHG platinum elite member, I was very disappointed with our recent staycation. I used rewards points for this stay, which was booked in April for the July 4th holiday. It doesn't help that we just returned from a fantastic stay at the Huntington Beach Shorebreak Hotel, which was outstanding. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location, and I'm glad I got to experience first-hand how disappointing it is so that I don't continue booking out of town business associates at this Kimpton location. I was under the impression that a skyline view meant a room with an actual view. Not only did we not have a river view for fireworks, we had a view of dried grass and a few trees which blocked any view of downtown. It is also apparently the parking spot for idling delivery trucks which woke us up first thing in the morning. We were travelling with our adult children and the room was very cramped. I asked for a roll away bed and was told that was not possible due to a fire code. We were considered cancelling the stay at this point, but was advised that I would not get my points back so I then requested blankets and comforters so that we could at least camp on the floor. I had work to do, so I scavenged for an outlet by the table. The only one I could locate was on a very dusty power strip behind the tv. As you can see by the photos below, this is not an area that gets cleaned regularly as there was an old cracker on the floor next to the strip. Now, being this was a holiday, there was an activity sheet for guests upon arrival. It listed fireworks at 10:30pm and a social hour from 5-6pm. I was told this consisted of wine, a cocktail option and small bites. There was no food to be found anywhere. The location in Huntington Beach offered water, soda, wines, beer on tap so that non-drinkers could also enjoy. I think this would be a good idea to implement at this location as well. Had it not been for the noise, we would have missed the fireworks viewed at from the courtyard, as they actually began at 10pm, not 10:30pm. A little research goes a long way. This was a very disappointing stay that I would not have followed through with if I had been able to reclaim my points. We have stayed at several other IHG locations which have all been stellar, so unfortunately, this location has some work to do. read more

We checked into our room on 7/4; we paid $800/night for a "Marina View", a view blocked by trees. The room was in such a state of disrepair...room 517, a one bedroom suite that was separate from the hotel. The patio was not cleaned in forever; a used pet pad was left, and cobwebs...filth. The blinds were broken...we had to jerryrig them to stay up. They didn't even change the sponge in the kitchen. The bathroom threshold was loose and lifted, and my sister, who is in a walker fell...hard; she was hurt badly, and ended up in the hospital. The couch was so torn up...it looked like a cat had it's way with it. I think when we pay a lot of money for a room, we should expect cleanliness and perfection; we got neither. I have some access issues with the hotel that I am handling separately with ADA Disability Rights Organization. read more

They stated they couldn't get a hold of us since we were out. They got permission from their sales department and proceeded to enter our room to again, change out our mattress. Such a cute place to stay! Hubs and I spent a weekend in Portland and wanted to stay close to town, but not in town. The RiverPlace Hotel was a great compromise. Staff was very nice and helpful, valet parking is the way to go! The hotel is very close to a light rail stop, so throw your vehicle in the garage and ride the train to where you need to go! The room was clean, bed comfy and the hotel itself fairly quiet. The pool area was clean and we had a great time splashing around. The Riverwalk is a lot of fun. Strolling along the river and grabbing a glass of wine or tasty snack is a great way to wind down after a long day. read more

The location is spectacular. The happy hour which is barely an hour and provided a variety of wines and some raw salmon on a triscuit cracker with grape and cheese and is not something I can have. NO consideration for people who don't drink. In my room there was no complimentary bottled water. That was especially concerning since when I went to run a bath in the very nice deep bathtub. There was some brown in the water. I called the front desk. They said they would try to send someone but no one came.. the dinner menu was limited the worst of non-alcoholic beverages were non-alcoholic ears, which don't work for me or people who cannot have alcohol. I did appreciate that valet charged my electric car for me. That was Help. I wish breakfast started earlier than 8 AM. Several guests were concerned that breakfast didn't start until 8 AM when I did get my breakfast I asked for strawberry jam to go with my English muffin. They said they didn't know if they had strawberry jam. I said well if you have something like that would be great. They brought me orange marmalade. I checked with ChatGPT. They told me strawberry and grape usually top the charts marmalade is sort of British thing. With a few small changes this hotel could be great. Three days ago I gave them a very detailed review and told them I would wait before posting. I rarely post a negative review. I hoped I would hear something back but nothing, even though I specifically told them their alcohol procedures could cause someone to relapse. My opinion doesn't matter to them. read more

They came to Slay! First of all been down here a thousands times never really noticed it. It's kinda of hidden off a main street! We arrive to a chipper bellman. He was happy to see us. Well at least it seemed. Lol Either way already starting off wonderful. Next the front desk lady was so helpful and happy also! I'm seeing a theme here! All checked in heading upstairs to unpack... We walk in the room and it's fabulous. Superb I might say it's was upscale meets sophisticated with a lodging theme. Loved it. The room was huge. We had a great view of the River! The windows were so big and clean so you can see the whole city! That night time shot priceless. Overall I loved loved loved did I say loved my stay and the staff. Room service did great considering how busy they were. Food came fast and was delicious. I ordered the Breakfast burrito! Bomb.com it was covered in verde salsa and jack cheese. So that's all folks! What a beautiful property on the Willamette River! The staff here is on their game. From pre-stay conversations with the GM to check in with James to breakfast at King Tide with Ashton--these Kimpton staff members made us feel welcomed and special. They know this is what makes customers like me choose Kimpton first. Thanks to you all! We stayed in one of the cottages over looking the river. It was fairly removed from the main property. Private and quaint with gorgeous views. Fireplace and kitchen too. The on-site restaurant is King Tide. Seafood based and not too many vegan options for dinner, but breakfast yes! For our quick weekend trip to Portland, my husband and I decided to splurge and stay at the Kimpton RiverPlace hotel. Located right on the river downtown, this was the perfect spot to be able to see all of the highlights Portland had to offer. The room was clean and modern. It was a corner room with a beautiful view of the river. We really didn't spend too much time there, other than to sleep but it had all the necessities. The bed was large and comfortable and the shower pressure was plenty. My only qualm was that they charged us for minibar items which we did not consume. If I hadn't checked my credit card upon returning home, they would have easily gotten an additional $50 off of us. Luckily, I checked my credit card and called the hotel directly to dispute it. They were happy to reverse the charges. all in all, a wonderful place to stay in Portland. read more

Rating: 4.5 Scheduled a stay here with my parents because I wanted to be close to the water and this place was great! Our room had an excellent view of the river and the service from the staff was excellent. Valeria at the front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming and answered all our questions very well. Our package came with valet parking included which was great because street parking is limited. Douglas and Oz were super friendly and there were smooth transitions to get our car. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend!! Minor Note: Portland itself seems to be in a tough spot in certain places nothing unsafe but would have hoped to feel 100% at ease so we could walk the river in front of the hotel at all times of the day. read more

Company hired to take reservations either needs to be retrained or hotel intends to cheat you out of as much money as possible. I was quoted a rate but when received my email confirmation one night was correct second night was $80 more and fees that I was told were included in room rate were not, they were additional fees. It is a beautiful hotel on the riverfront, which is why we chose to spend the extra money. We told them we were not picky about the room, as long as it had a water view and a bed. When we checked in we were asked if we would like second or fourth floor. We said either as long as it had a view. The response were given was oh no sorry but neither room has a view and I can't change you because we are full. We would have left but there is a $275 cancelation fee. We paid over $300 a night for the view pictured below. To add insult to injury the only parking was valet only and $49 extra per night! Bait and switch or ignorance, either way a very frustrating trip. read more

I'm a big fan of the Kimpton hotels and as an IHG spire member, this one did not disappoint. The hotel is in a superb location. It's right by the Portland Marina. When you walk outside from the hotel back door, you will see that the hotel has direct acc as to a walking/biking/ruining trail that oversee the river and boats. It's definitely a romantic walk at night with many restaurants choices. Arrival experience on Friday night was great with a bellman to assist with our luggage. The front desk person was very friendly as well and gave us two boxes of water. I didn't remember his name b/c he didn't mention it. The hotel decor was very appropriate for the Pacific Northwest style. It had a rustic craftsman feel with lots of woodwork and natural elements. Our guest room #211 was on the interior corner facing a well manicured courtyard with green garden. The living room is very spacious and facing the green garden too. It was pretty much a suite in terms of guest room size with a sleeping area and a separate sitting area with a sofa, bathroom has a great shower, plenty of countertop space and a bathtub that is deep enough for a good soak. The hotel has a morning coffee in the lobby and evening wine hours which are great. The only downside is during breakfast time, there is only Chamomile tea and no black tea. The famous seafood restaurant is also not open. I guess the COVID is making things difficult all around. Overall a very good hotel. I highly recommend it for any Yelpers who travel here. read more

AWESOME HOTEL - Highly recommend staying here! Excellent stay, beautiful property, great location and delicious food. The staff was extremely kind, informative and efficient. You truly feel like you're staying in a boutique hotel, as it is so charming. I would definitely recommend spending a little extra to get a room with a river view. The property is off the beaten path and just a 10-minute Uber ride to downtown. This was our first time in Portland, and we are happy to report that we felt very safe there. Lily and Valeria at the front desk took exceptional care of us, including surprising us with a bottle of bubbly, a thoughtful card, and a fruit and cheese platter to help us celebrate our anniversary. We had a few hiccups, but Lily went above and beyond to not only address them, but also to ensure she exceeded our expectations. Issues sometimes arise and what matters is how they are addressed. Laina and the other bartenders also provided extraordinary service and made us feel welcomed at King Tide, their onsite restaurant. Often, we are disappointed by hotel restaurants, but King Tide was the exception. Their food and drinks were amazing! The outdoor patio was especially nice to take in the river views. There's also a walking path that goes by the hotel, so you can take a long walk - or take advantage of their gym, which was very well appointed. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Portland Spirit, where you can enjoy a scenic Happy Hour cruise. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer. read more

Kimpton is my favorite hotel brands due to the boutique hotel ambiance and the amenities. This one, unfortunately, fell a bit flat In amenities (and still charged for it). Check in was easy enough, as was valet parking (price shock there, too). The lobby is gorgeous!!! There is also a little shop of essentials, which includes wine. The on-site restaurant is only open for brunch. Completely understandable due to the difficulty of finding people. Our room did not disappoint! It was spacious, and offered a view of the courtyard. And, that courtyard is wonderful!!! We were not told about that at check-in. It is accessed from the second floor, and it has seating and some tables - a great way to relax and unwind. Back to our room - plenty of places for our things, and pretty clean (could still see "stuff" under the dresser). The bed was comfy, and lots of places to plug in electronic devices. There is a fridge, but no "Raid the Bar", which was disappointing. Amenities - usually, there is coffee and tea in the morning, and a wine happy hour in the evening. Nope. I get that with Covid and lack of people some things are difficult. But don't charge for it, then. Kind of a rip off, and just another way to increase revenue. Overall, a good stay, and would recommend, with an asterisk about the price. read more

Staycation, all I ever wanted! I chose this hotel for one feature in particular: the soaking tub. It was not easy finding a resource to guide me when looking for hotels with soaking tubs. There are plenty of nice hotels in Portland, but not very many with bathrooms you want to spend some time in. Check out my photo. I hit the jackpot! I stayed at a Kimpton hotel in Palm Springs last year and it had exactly the same sort of bathroom configuration. I would say if you're looking for something like this look at a Kimpton. This particular hotel had a couple of rooms with a soaking tub and lucky for me they were overlooking the river. I was able to kick back enjoy my drink and my long soak while taking in the wonderful view. Even better, after I was done my tall husband was also able to enjoy the bath. He is 6-4 and has trouble finding a bath tub that he can stretch out in. The bath products provided had a nice aroma, and I didnt hesitate to buy a couple to take home. Otherwise it was a pretty ordinary room. The bed was comfortable, the TV worked, and there wasn't much noise from other rooms or out in the hall. The hotel is practicing very good Covid precautions. One thing I really love about Kimpton is their out standing pet policy. Good dogs are always welcome. The restaurant menu wasn't very inspiring so we used Grub Hub to import some sushi. Enjoyed it while bunny kicking each other on the king bed, watching movies and being silly. Staycation is sometimes all you need. read more

I spend a lot of time in Kimpton hotels and wow is this a nice one. I love the smaller, intimate feel and warm hospitality of the hotel. The lobby is comfortable with a nice fireplace and cool view of the river, right outside the door. The front desk staff were very welcoming and quickly got me set up in my room, a nice upgrade to a riverfront executive suite. The room was roomy with a comfortable living room and a very comfortable bed in the attached bedroom. The river was right outside the windows, which amazingly opened (I love hotels where you can open windows.). The bathroom was fine, probably the only weakness since it was a little dated with a tub rather than walk in shower. I know there is debate on this, but I don't love showering in a tub, although this one was bigger and squarer than normal, so that helped. Everything in the room was nicely cleaned. Everybody staff member I met was engaging and friendly. I had a nice chat with the General Manager at wine hour. Wine hour was great, with two reds, a white, and local sodas in addition to a nice halibut crudo snack and amazing chocolate chip cookies. I love how wine hours invite socializing with other guests and staff. In addition to the upgraded room I also received a nice amenity of Sparkling Wine, Cheese Tray and a local Chocolate bar. The attached bar is great, as usual and Seth is an amazing bartender. The food was all tasty. Overall a great stay and I will return. read more

Probably had the best experience provided by the hotel and staff regardless of price range paid. While it is not the newest hotel, the rooms are super stylish and loved the vibe. Dog friendly definitely another plus! Again the staff were all super friendly and helpful. To name a few...Hailey communicated via text and was super helpful. Richie was awesome and took care of our car and charging it up for our trip. Ashtyn from the restaurant downstairs (King Tide fish and shell) was awesome each morning we had breakfast there. Leather (like?) tufted headboards. -living room area is separate with a TV, coffee machine & minifridge. -view of river or narrow garden/courtyard (on the 2nd floor) -shower has good pressure with a deep tub View of the River -from many rooms -through the back doors on the main floor. First they charged us for 2 rooms full payment the day we booked In December for our April 2024 trip. We called spoke to 2 different employees VERY RUDE! they told us maybe you should read the full fine print, I still haven't seen anything written about must pay in full at the time you book. We are now 4 weeks out for our trip, We had/have a family emergency I called to cancel, told yet again by more then one RUDE EMPLOYEE THAT WE SHOULD READ ALL FINE PRINT, THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO CANCEL YOUR RESERVATIONS! All thou I was not a guest at this hotel, My daughter an her husband stayed there, I am giving this hotel a review. It was my daughter an son-in-law's anniversary an I wanted to surprise them with some amenities in their room when they arrived. I called the hotel an an explained what I wanted to do they were so very nice an took my order. She put me on hold for a few an came back an said no problem it's all planned. Then she told me there would be no charge for me since it is their anniversary an they like to celebrate that! It was on the house!! I was so shocked an pleasantly surprised! This is a lovely small hotel right on the Willamette River. The lobby is very quiet and cosy with a fireplace and afternoon free wine tastings. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, quiet and well decorated. You can walk to downtown shopping. The restaurant bar is also quiet and the quality of the food is good. It is somewhat pricey but very much worth it. We have stayed here many times in the past and it feels like a home away from home. read more

The service, room, and environment exceeded all our expectations! If I ever need a hotel in the PNW, this will definitely be high on our list of places to stay at. We stayed a night here back in December of 2021. Pros: secure (valet) parking, no pet fees, FRIENDLY service. The restaurant was also very good and, holy smokes, can I tell you again how amazing the service was? The bellhops were good, the restaurant people were friendly, but the ladies at the front desk blew it out of the water. Cons: I missed the hot chocolate bar. I smelled it, but arrived too late for it. Don't forget to get the phrase before you check in. Wink wink- nudge nudge. Finally: we went for a walk through downtown and the park. No complaints. Some homeless issues, but truly had no issues about safety. I brought the dog out by myself at night for a little bit across the way from the hotel and felt safe. Will return! read more

We just so happened to be visiting during the heat wave of 2021 and am reminded of this visit as I use their hand lotion right now (I'll get to this later). Our room wasn't ready at check-in and were told it would be a few hours. I get it, they were probably short staffed. Also, a ton of locals were booking rooms because it was that hot in Portland and they didn't have ACs at home. They stored our items in their back room. We were offered water bottles by the front desk and we basically hung out in the lobby for a bit. It was wayyy too hot to be outside too on their cute lawn area. The restaurant attached was closed so we couldn't dine there. I liked that they provided large size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from the Atelier Bloem line. It looked fancy too but unfortunately the shampoo made my hair fall out like crazy. After 2 times, I was like nope! Good thing I packed my own shampoo and conditioner from home! When our room was finally ready (3 or 4 hours later), we were given the option to choose between a red or white bottle of wine, to make up for the super late check-in. In the mornings, they had a coffee/tea station in the lobby, I really liked this! The gentleman who brought up our luggage to our room was on it. He didn't just leave them at the door and leave. He was like, I can set them up for you on the luggage rack. Yes please! Do you want a 2ndrack? Yes please! Their ice freezer was filled to the top with pre-bagged ice. It was HOTTTT okay, so at one point, the freezer was empty!! Finding a place to eat was difficult, because of the heat wave and lots of restaurants closed bc it got too hot in their kitchens, not enough staff etc. When we arrived on Day 1, I appreciated that the front desk provided us with a list of restaurants they had personally called to find out if they were open. We still called though to get their most updated hours. This heat wave was bad. It was so bad, many people died, unfortunately. we were there for a few nights. On one of the days, I called about 10 different restaurants and no one answered, which meant they were closed and we weren't about to go driving to them just to find out they were closed, and we were hungry too. We walked back into the hotel lobby and the front desk guy knew us already and he's like, what you guys get? And we said Taco Bell! *holds up the goods*. On another day, it was just toooo hot out, we got Doordash delivered to the hotel and the process was easy. The bedding was comfy and I loved the black-out curtains in the room. They even had a yoga mat in the room - how Portland of them. I had enough space in the room to use my long foam roller. They had cruiser bikes you could check out but they warned us, it was probably not the best idea given the heat wave outside. So we didn't use their bikes. I absolutely loved their body lotion in the room by Atelier Bloem. You can purchase it at the hotel as well as the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. At $35/36 for a bottle of lotion, I was hesitant. But once we got back home, I couldn't stop thinking about how lovely the lotion was. It has white fig, olive, heliotrope, tuberose, lemon, Kadota fig. The scent is soft and not overly harsh. I bought their large bottle online, as well as a 4-pack of mini bottles to give away There were lounge chairs outdoors with a view of the lawn. We sat there and people watched as we enjoyed our Voodoo donuts. Our car was parked in their garage and whenever we needed to leave, we were instructed to call the front desk so they could notify the valet. A few times, the message was not communicated to the valet or it was and they forgot, so we'd get downstairs and no car. But no big deal. The valet guys were courteous. read more

We had such a lovely time staying here that we have stayed here twice! AMENITIES The best best part of our stay was the free happy hour from 5-6 every day. They served wine and beer, and also have yummy appetizers from their restaurant as well as AMAZING FRESHLY BAKED COOKIES. We always tried to be at the hotel to catch the happy hour haha. They also have coffees and tea in the morning, along with to-go cups. There's generally also spa water in the lobby. There's bikes that you can rent out. They have tents they will set up in your room if you have kids. ROOMS The biggest thing for me is sound. I am the lightest sleeper in the world, and a staff member recommended a CourtYard suite which was perfect. I couldn't hear anything from our neighbors, the courtyard was silent every night. The only thing was the first time we stayed there we were near a service room, so that door opened and shut many times at the beginning of the night. Otherwise, I was very happy with how comfy the beds were and how well I was able to sleep. The rooms are cozy and well decorated. SERVICE Service was just absolutely excellent. They were always speedy in things like extra blankets, friendly, and also gave us good brunch tips! PARKING This was annoying. There isn't actually parking on site, unless you want to pay I think 35 for Valet each day. There is a parking lot they recommend you go to, which is around the block, and you have to repay every 24 hours, and I believe it was 25 a day. We probably could've done without a car in retrospect. The hotel is a bit further from a lot of the more central spots in Portland, but we enjoyed the walks to the bus stops, which were generally about 10-15 minute depending on which bus we were catching. read more
