The sign sure says vending and ice.

What a disappointment I'm a breakfast person and the breakfast sure sounded good but nothing like getting ripped off on an incorporated expense closing breakfast down for no reason over a half hour sooner than I was told and the sign said the same thing that was on the wall by the breakfast area, they did not even have fruit. This place by the looks of it should have been an economy inn! So for an update things have gotten even worse this place is trying to charge us for an extra day for no reason and the entire time the lady we spoke to until they realized it was an error on their part worded the entire conversation like it was an error on out part. It's not lack of staffing at this place it's high turnover rate because this place sucks, shame on you.

The primary reasons we booked here was the location in relation to Cedar Point and the indoor pool for our children.

I booked for my friend's bachelorette party and I am beyond thankful I found them. The original bar we went to wasn't what we expected. I was so stressed because I wanted the bride to be happy. Since Racquel and DaMante are so amazing and attentive, they checked on us and offered to take us to other spots in town. Since they had connections, we were able to go to all the best spots! At one bar, DaMante took over the entire place and became the DJ and hype man. It was like a movie. He made the place come alive and we would have had a boring night without them. Above and beyond would be an understatement. They were also so caring and patient looking after 20+ women having a good time! The vibes and service were immaculate and I will forever cherish this experience and how happy it made my friend. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had all thanks to Racquel and DaMante. Incredible humans and business. Also, Racquel is a fantastic owner. Excellent and timely communication and so warm and kind. I could not recommend booking with them enough. All I expected was transportation, lights and some good music to our destination. Little did I know they were the entire party! Thank you so much Racquel and DaMante!!!

Let me start out by saying had I read these reviews prior to booking our Christmas Party I would…read morehave looked elsewhere. In April I contacted The Winerie about a Christmas Party on Dec. 5th 2025, at that time I spoke with the Manager who was let go before our party. We received all the menues and contracts. We signed the contract and made the deposit. In October we never heard from anyone to finalize the menu so I reached out to the said Manager and I was told she no longer works there and gave me the "new" managers number. I called and sent numerous texts with no response. We finally called Winerie and spoke with a bartender who stated she would have someone call me back. I did get a text that said when is the best time to call you, I told her anytime before 2:30. A few days later she called back we touched base on what we had planned, she asked if we signed a contract and made a deposit as she has no record of us booking. From that point on I no longer had phone conversations with anyone everything had to be done via text. When I asked if someone could call she stated no she is very busy as she wears many hats. Fast forward to the time of our party!! UGH they had 5 tables reserved with a white tablecloth on them thats it no salt/pepper no water nothing. Okay fine we can overlook that. The food was finally served and they put out a tossed salad that was big enough for 1 person, when we went to ask for more they stated sorry we have no more lettuce in the whole place. We were supposed to get rolls and butter nope they didn't have those either. When we went to the bar for beer they ran out of that as well we had to change what we drank. The roasted carrots where hard the potatoes where spungy. The chicken was DRY as the saraha desert. The lasagna was very good. We ran out of food!!! We had to go to the bar and ask if they had any more they said oh yes we will get someone to bring more. They brought our more lasagna and some cabbage that they called a salad but never brought out any chicken. We had to ask for salt and pepper, and more plates. No one cleaned off the tables after dinner we had to bus our own tables and put them on an empty table. One of our guests bit into a bite of chicken and pulled out a 3" piece of dark hair that had food attached to it. The desert constisted of cheesecakes from Sams Club. No one came to check on us at all during the evening, we had to go ask where we were set up, and had to ask when food was going to be served. When we went up to pay they did take money off the bill because we complained but then turned around and charged us a 20% gratuity. Why, why didn't we get to say what we wanted to pay because we had no service other than the bartenders getting the drinks. I do not recommend this facility RUN!!! Maples Motel - More of the broken tile toes could get stuck in this

Maples Motel

When looking for a place to stay while we visited Cedar Point, there were a lot of expensive places…read morethat didn't fit our budget. Thankfully we found the Maples! It's only slightly further out from the theme park than other hotels and infinitely worth the price reduction. The fancy old school neon sign out front is a helpful waypoint when you're coming back after dark (no missing your turn!). This isn't a chain location; it's independently owned and operated by a swell fella named Steve. Steve was very friendly and happy to have us for three nights. Each morning we were able to go over to the "office" (the back of his home) and snag free coffee, donuts, fruit, and granola bars (no COVID excuses!). He said hi to us or waved whenever he saw us enter or leave the property. And what a gorgeous piece of property it is! We both really enjoyed the more "homey" feel to this over the traditional parking lot + multifloor hotel. The rooms are small and honestly reminded me of my grandma's old house, which is probably accurate because this place was probably built around the 1950's. You can see it in the tile bathrooms and fixtures. That said, it is on the older side so there are some imperfections here and there if you look close. Some rusty grout, some warped wood, that kind of thing. Sure, it'd be nice if some renovations were done. But again, we spent the majority of our time riding roller coasters, not relaxing in our room so we really weren't seeking a "resort" experience. It all depends on what you're looking for in a stay. There is a pool which we unfortunately never got the time to utilize, but it looked really nice and the hours are generous. The ice machine worked really well so we were never without cold water to drink. The only thing that was missing that would've been really nice to have was a mini fridge/microwave so we could have some meals without going out. Each room also comes with a fold-out little bed so you can sleep an additional person or child. I actually ended up using it because it was softer than the full-sized bed. Steve was generous in supplying additional soap bars/shampoo during our multi day stay. The TV worked well and had all the standard channels. The wi-fi worked great for all my needs! A/C was functional and not too loud. Do note that this place is right next to the railroad tracks and trains will go by throughout the day/evening. We noticed the busiest time seemed to be 7am. The trains always blow their whistle while going by and it is quite loud.

This place is a VIBE and has a family business for 100 years! Not going to lie, the photos almost…read morethrew me off and we almost didn't stay here. However, when a business is open for 100 years, you have to give it a shot! First, I highly recommend that the owners hire a social media manager and post pictures that do this place justice. The grounds are super cute and the sign offers a great photo op! Walking into the room brought an enormous rush of nostalgia. It was cool to be able to stay in a place that my grandparents would have stopped at in their younger years. Most importantly, the rooms and bathrooms were super clean!! The room comes with a modern television and a small refrigerator. The property owners are very personable and, as part of your room fee, they provide freshly made local donuts each morning. The donuts are worth the stay alone. In this day and age, we were surprised to be able to find such a cool Experience for such little cost. Easy parking, beautiful pool (we didn't use it but it looked nice), amazing customer service. Without hesitation, we will stay here whenever we are back in town. Maples Motel is a historic treasure and I highly recommend staying here.
