The view of the room was beautiful and the location to Cedar Point is top notch. It was so easy to walk to and from the park and a great perk to have early entry. My teenage kids were able to go back-and-forth at the side entrance as they pleased. It's literally across the parking lot. The location is what you are paying for here. The 2 outdoor pools and hot tubs were nice and despite the mosquitos in the evening. Prepare to be swarmed! The room is definitely dated. There were brown finger and dirt marks around the door knobs and light switches and everything felt sticky. The beds were not soft. They felt like I was sleeping on a hard piece of granite and the room smelled like mildew. The bug carcasses on the railing of the screened in patio were gross, but the view was amazing. We used the fold out couch and found one of the cushions had been turned over to hide what resembled crusty cheez whiz. There was no coffee maker in the room, but I had read reviews so we brought our own Keurig and breakfast items. The room did have an old mini fridge and microwave. There was a tiny bar sink and lots of sticky, dated cupboards for storage. We ate at the TGIF restaurant in the hotel and the menu is definitely limited and overpriced. There was only one waiter for the entire bar area. The food came out slowly at different times, but it was decent bar food. The hotel does not seem like it is being kept up. The hotel lobby bathroom was dirty and I almost slipped on the floor multiple times because of a weird residue on the floor.

We originally had reservations at sawmill creek. I received a call the day before the trip to change hotels to the breakers. I had never been here before so was oblivious to where anything was located. Pleasantly surprised we were 9 miles from the park with Sawmill Creek and at breakers were happily walking across the parking lot for our time. We have 2 service dogs and would have been concerned leaving them that far away from us and then driving back and forth checking on them. I would suggest Hotel Breakers. I would have liked to be on the main level of the hotel but was on 6th floor over overlooking the beach!! So I'm not complaining there as well.

Absolutely stay here if you're going to Cedar Point. The property has multiple Chain restaurants, a pool, beach access, bars and more for parents and kids alike. It also has direct access to the park's front entrance which makes for easy mornings or back n forths if needed. Hotel has a beach hotel vibe, functional and clean. Easy, great stay. Pro tip, if you need to make a stop at CVS or Target for anything do so before driving down the main road to the hotel which doesn't have much directly around it.

Before any negatives, I just want to say it's all worth it for the access to the park and great views the lakeside rooms offer. To be able to come and go during your trip to cedar point is priceless. That said, it's time for a refresh on the room. Ours was very worn and only moderately clean. The carpet had stains and did not look vacuumed. Typical mildew caulk in the bathroom tub. No coffee maker wtf??? They also had to scrounge up towels, as they forgot. We had to ask for extra soap, since we were provided with one small bar for three days, and small shampoo/conditioner bottles. Everything is VERY basic in the actual rooms. Expect nearly motel 6 offerings. The resort amenities were great, but they needed a lot more cleanup and trash pickup overnights. That said... we'll be back. Hopefully by that time they upgrade the rooms.

I loved this place! Perfect place to stay if you're going to cedar point and buy the rooms that come with the passes! An older hotel with beautiful grounds on the lake. Food was as expected for hotel food. Would recommend this place and come back again if I'm ever in Sandusky!

    Needs cleaning inside and out.

Cleanliness. I understand this hotel has history and is old but it can still be cleaned. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue meaning not enough or it's needing a manager to manage its personnel. We enjoyed the park and the convenience of the hotel location but it's definitely not a Universal Studios hotel resort.

We had a wonderful stay here and can't wait to go back again. The staff was so friendly and our beds were way too comfortable. I like that they have everything nearby so we didn't even have to move the car over the three days there. My only complaint would be the available (or not available) parking. We had to drive in circles for a while hoping for someone to leave. I didn't want to leave to the store fearing I'd find no spot and unfortunately the vending machines are awful expensive. $5.50 for a bottle of cherry coke. Yikes! I'll be better prepared next visit. My teenage daughter and I loved the beach and games they had available. ( corn hole, volleyball and connect four to name a few). The restaurants were delicious. Make sure to get a reservation if wanting the hibachi as we did a carry out since it was a few hours wait. We'll be going back again for sure

Reviews were great so we quickly pulled the trigger! Check in process was super simple. You can check in on the app and you can actually pick your room. Since we have never stayed here before, we didn't have a preference so we let them pick. We quickly verified the ID at the front desk and we were on our way to our room. Receptionist were both very friendly and even offered us waters. They do have hot coffee and hot water for tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. They also have a 24/7 store at the desk with sooo many snacks and drink options! They have multiple TVs, sittting areas and shuffle board/foosball in the lobby, which we saw lots of people enjoying. Our room was spacious. Plenty of room for storage. It smelled fresh and clean. The shower was perfect size, just wish the water was a bit warmer. My boyfriend has been raving about the hand soap since the second he tried it (it's a great scent!). They have hand soap, body lotion, conditioner, shampo, body wash all hanging on the wall for your convenience. Our king bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly in our room. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. So many options! I opt for the cheese egg omelets, sausage patties, and pancakes. Plenty of toppings for your pancakes, as well as toppings for yogurt and oatmeal too. Large variety of breads and carbs. It was perfect before a long day at Cedar Point! The good: Waterpark and room were clean. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Kids really enjoyed themselves (10 and 14). There are lots of restaurant options within 3-5 miles to fit any budget. The majority of lifeguards took their jobs seriously and enforced rules. It was less expensive than other indoor waterparks. Room fridge was great for storing snacks and drinks. Nearly everywhere in the hotel is crazy loud, but, the craft room was a great place to take a sensory break and slow down for a bit. The area by the aquarium on the third floor was also quieter often. There was a seating area for reading and tables available for boardgames with a view of the bay. The bad: We waited in line at 4:15 pm for a half an hour to just check in. They had a line of people filling the entire lobby with 4 staff checking people in. It was not streamlined at all. The changing room did not have a curtain or door on it. Nor did the bunk room. The only place to change privately was the small room off the bathroom with toilet and shower. Walls are paper thin. You will hear everything going on in the hall and the rooms around yours. We also happened to be right off the elevator bank which added a whole new level of noise. Elevators are slow and tiny. With luggage, you can fit 3-4 people tops. We chose the stairs almost every time despite our room being located on the 3rd floor right next to the elevators. That said, the stairwells are super loud as it's all metal and cement/concrete. Large attractions do close. The wave pool was closed half the day Saturday which was our kids favorite thing. You need a special card for any arcade, bowling, or golfing you do and that's an extra $3 charge plus what you load onto it. They have cute character "room doors" throughout the hallways. These are often right next to a room door and kids will push the buttons to make them talk all day/night. So many of the areas were unnecessarily loud. You couldn't hear anyone speak in the arcade or waterpark. Stairwells were like banging on metal drums while they echoed between 4 floors. The ugly: Their mini golf (albeit it glow course) is highway robbery. $10 per person (despite being told it was $6 by staff) and only 8 holes. The 9th hole was just putting your ball up a ramp into their skee-ball cup. If you mad it a fun sound went off, if you didn't, it collected it and played a failed sound. Our "bay view" window was COVERED in bird poop and cobwebs on the exterior side. The entire side of the building was filthy to look at. I would not suggest paying extra for the view. This might have been a one off experience in the activity pool but the one time we tried it, I had teenagers tackling me from behind as they fought over basketballs. I was pushed over multiple times by them when they crashed into me (and others in the pool) and nothing was done about it by parents or lifeguards. My kiddo and I eventually left because the ball he and another younger kid were playing with kept getting takin by the teens. Overall, it was a cheaper room option than other places but I'm not sure we'll be going back again. The extra fees for everything else adds up quick and sleep was nearly impossible with the noise level around our room.

I didn't bring folding chairs because we were limited on space but now I wish we did. The deal was $280 for one night stay, plus two park admission tickets, early entrance to the park, and parking. One thing we liked about the room that isn't in most hotel rooms was the size of the mini fridge--there was a separate door for the freezer. We also liked that checkout was moved to noon from 11am for no charge when we called the front desk.
