Absolutely stay here if you're going to Cedar Point. The property has multiple Chain restaurants, a pool, beach access, bars and more for parents and kids alike. It also has direct access to the park's front entrance which makes for easy mornings or back n forths if needed. Hotel has a beach hotel vibe, functional and clean. Easy, great stay. Pro tip, if you need to make a stop at CVS or Target for anything do so before driving down the main road to the hotel which doesn't have much directly around it.

Before any negatives, I just want to say it's all worth it for the access to the park and great views the lakeside rooms offer. To be able to come and go during your trip to cedar point is priceless. That said, it's time for a refresh on the room. Ours was very worn and only moderately clean. The carpet had stains and did not look vacuumed. Typical mildew caulk in the bathroom tub. No coffee maker wtf??? They also had to scrounge up towels, as they forgot. We had to ask for extra soap, since we were provided with one small bar for three days, and small shampoo/conditioner bottles. Everything is VERY basic in the actual rooms. Expect nearly motel 6 offerings. The resort amenities were great, but they needed a lot more cleanup and trash pickup overnights. That said... we'll be back. Hopefully by that time they upgrade the rooms.

I loved this place! Perfect place to stay if you're going to cedar point and buy the rooms that come with the passes! An older hotel with beautiful grounds on the lake. Food was as expected for hotel food. Would recommend this place and come back again if I'm ever in Sandusky!

Cleanliness. I understand this hotel has history and is old but it can still be cleaned. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue meaning not enough or it's needing a manager to manage its personnel. We enjoyed the park and the convenience of the hotel location but it's definitely not a Universal Studios hotel resort.

We stayed here for five nights and had a three day pass to the Cedar Point Amusement Park. Pros: The views and proximity to the beach were great. It was also nice to be steps away to the park and could unwind at the beach & pools. They had huge fire pits at night and always a band playing at the sand bar. Cons: The internet didn't work very well. There were no coffee makers located in the rooms and there was not a daily room turn down service. I was told to request service and it still took them two days for an initial cleaning. They will not let door dash to your room. There were restaurants on site but we chose to drive into town for other options.

Very convenient- very short walk to the park. I was very disappointed in the room though. It smelled musty. Luckily I googled it ahead of time and knew there was no coffee pot so we brought ours. It wasn't very clean. There was a giant bug smashed with guts on the wall. The floor was dirty and someone left a piece of a fingernail on the desk. The room is VERY basic. Plain Jane. The shampoo and body washes were all different companies and very random. The room is Very plain, beds were not comfy and pillows were hard. I was expecting so much more for the cost. I pay the same amount for our Disney hotels we stay at and I guess I was expecting something similar. I would stay again...just for the convenience.

We had a wonderful stay here and can't wait to go back again. The staff was so friendly and our beds were way too comfortable. I like that they have everything nearby so we didn't even have to move the car over the three days there. My only complaint would be the available (or not available) parking. We had to drive in circles for a while hoping for someone to leave. I didn't want to leave to the store fearing I'd find no spot and unfortunately the vending machines are awful expensive. $5.50 for a bottle of cherry coke. Yikes! I'll be better prepared next visit. My teenage daughter and I loved the beach and games they had available. ( corn hole, volleyball and connect four to name a few). The restaurants were delicious. Make sure to get a reservation if wanting the hibachi as we did a carry out since it was a few hours wait. We'll be going back again for sure

Reviews were great so we quickly pulled the trigger! Check in process was super simple. You can check in on the app and you can actually pick your room. Receptionist were both very friendly and even offered us waters. They do have hot coffee and hot water for tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. They also have a 24/7 store at the desk with sooo many snacks and drink options! They have multiple TVs, sittting areas and shuffle board/foosball in the lobby, which we saw lots of people enjoying. Our room was spacious. Plenty of room for storage. It smelled fresh and clean. The shower was perfect size, just wish the water was a bit warmer. My boyfriend has been raving about the hand soap since the second he tried it (it's a great scent!). They have hand soap, body lotion, conditioner, shampo, body wash all hanging on the wall for your convenience. Our king bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly in our room. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. So many options! I opt for the cheese egg omelets, sausage patties, and pancakes. There isn't really anywhere to unpack your clothes. The mattress was okay. The pillows were terrible and super flat, my neck hurt waking up each morning. It was really nice to have both a mini fridge and a microwave in both rooms. Waterpark 8/10 Decent. Lots of slides, different sizes for all ages. It was really disappointing that the hot tub was closed though. Woulda been nice to stick our feet in after long days of walking at cedar point. Customer service was my biggest gripe. The check in guy was pretty cold at first, but later he was more helpful. I was especially disappointed with the snack bar staff. The water park snack bar is in a dimly-lit corner, and when I went in, there was no one visibly working there. After a minute, a lady came out from the back, and I asked if the snack bar was open at that time. She gave me a condescending look, and didn't say anything, as if I should obviously expect the location to be open, despite the lack of an open sign or employee behind the counter. Then another guy comes out and starts making the order and neither him nor his coworker talked at all, just kinda scowled and made my partner and I feel like we were doing something wrong just by being respectful paying customers. They were the kind of workers I'd expect to see at a run-down McDonald's late at night, not a family vacation resort. The hotel itself is also nothing special. The beds are small and not particularly comfy, but the rooms are clean and nice enough. But the walls are THIN and you hear way too much noise from other guests. Overall: good waterpark+okay hotel+bad staff=mixed experience

We also liked that checkout was moved to noon from 11am for no charge when we called the front desk.
