A hotels prime objective is to provide an environment for a good nights sleep and this property failed. I had to change rooms due to multiple noise, sound and amenity issues at midnight. The room I was given had major noise issues with the HVAC unit so I had to get another room. That room still had noise issues so I used a white noise app to get as good a night sleep as possible. That room also had amenity issues with no hair conditioner in the shower. I won't be staying here again. Marriott needs to examine this property. I have video and pics if needed. read more

We have stayed at this hotel on two occasions. We do an annual midweek fall trip to Waterbury/Stowe area. Hotel is new'ish, very clean and the rooms have all the right stuff- Nice beds, good tv, well lit clean bathroom, in room refrigerator and coffee. Breakfast is included. I like the complimentary coffee in the lobby. Easy, free parking. The downside includes thin ceilings as we can hear people walking around above us and the bath towels could use replacing as they are thin and have seen better days. This hotel has one of the cleanest and most beautiful suites I've stayed at with Fairfield by Marriott. The carpet was not dirty, the hallways did not have a musty odor, nor did they smell like they were doused in air freshener. The shower had a brand new mat and the bathroom was gorgeous. In the living area is a long couch, large desk, and a working fireplace for the cold nights. There is a small parking garage under the hotel. I will always recommend this Marriott for a luxurious stay. read more

Only good things about this hotel! Out room was clean and spacious for our family of 4. So much so that 4 of us go our own beds (which is good, because the boys tend to toss & turn at night). There is always hot coffee & choice of tea available. During our stay, they had a Manager's "snack time" every evening of our stay between 4 to 7 (which often extended into 8p or whenever food ran out). It was nice to come back from a day of skiing to crudité, hame & cheese cubes, and light bite sweets (cookies & brownies). Friendly staff and front desk! Note: due to covid, housekeeping is not going into rooms daily to clean up; there is also no Do Not Disturb/Service room sign on the door. They won't go into rooms unless specifically requested. However, if you need a change of towels or garbage dump, they're always at the ready if you stop them in the hallway. Locations was good too. They are next door to the Ben & Jerry's factory (tours closed due to covid, but ice cream shop is open). Also, the hotel is about a 30 min drive (with traffic) to Stowe mountain. Hope to stay here again on a return trip to VT! read more

Service was great. Room was clean and comfortable. We received waters when we checked in. Location. Was easy to get to and parking was free. The only issue was the breakfast was whack. They need either a waffle or pancake machine. I'm the land of maple syrup it should be a crime to serve microwave reheat pancakes and waffles. read more

We had a really nice quick weekend stay at the Fairfield Inn Waterbury Stowe VT. I had really low expectations since it's a Fairfield but was pleasantly surprised. We actually booked another weekend there for March. It's nicely located, 20 minutes to ski in Stowe, about 20 minutes to the cute area in Burlington. Staff was top notch, they should train other hotels. They had typical fairfield breakfast with a nice addition of the Udis gluten free bagels which my celiac kid appreciated, coffee was available early morning and breakfast was constantly replenished. Room and hallways were really clean. No daily housekeeping but we are the type to always put a DND on our door and ask for towels before Covid so that doesn't bother us. The gym is really small, a couple of treadmills a bike and some weights. Both times I went in someone was on the other treadmill and masked up. They have a very small space to work with but it was clean and just what I needed. From the time we were greeted with a smile and a snack bag for Elites to the time we checked out (late 4pm given without any hesitation) I felt like a valued customer. I seriously can't find a thing wrong with this hotel other than the engineer that built the garage wasn't thinking that it's a ski area and people will have Thules on, clearance is too low for them. I wish all hotels were this friendly, clean and thoughtful, I've stayed at hotels twice this price that were total nightmares. Highly recommend! read more

We stayed in a 1 BR king suite on the 4th floor. Noise level is great and there is access to elevator and parking garage. The breakfast was okay, not great, as far as free hotel breakfasts go. There were non-diary options for cereal and coffee. Only one roast coffee available (but I think that's all of Vermont- Green Mt Medium Roast). Rooms are spacious and bed is okay. Bathrooms are big, clean and great water pressure. There is also a 24 h gym, and a hit tub / pool which is nice. Would stay here again. read more

Super friendly staff! I have an OCD with hair being left in the bathroom and there was quite a bit upon checking in. The cleaning staff was already gone for the day, but on my second day they paid extra attention in bathroom per my request. They also left me a goodie basket with chocolate, chips, and a bottled water as an apology, along with a nice note. Good breakfast options, (biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles, cereal, a few toast options, fruit, oatmeal, etc) that changed daily. Locally roasted coffee and several juice options. Great location near the highway and town, close to Ben & Jerry's Factory, Cabot Dairy, Cindee Mill, and great dining options. read more

Excellent location, staff, and property. Very new. Very, very, nice hotel. It is a relatively small size which is so nice because it feels very quaint, even though it is a chain hotel. They have a small indoor parking garage which is nice since it has been snowing the entire week we have been here. It is tight so you may have to do some 5 point turns to get into or out of a space. Very clean. Sarah in housekeeping was a pleasure to talk with. She always had a big smile on and said hi every time we saw her. This place has been sparkling throughout our entire stay and she was the main reason. I saw her cleaning common areas every single day. Ben and Matt at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are plentiful and change every day. My favorite so far is the waffles and maple syrup. They have several choices of the very local Green Mountain coffee available 24/7. They also have a great little convenience shop next to the front desk including beer, wine, frozen meals, Ben and Jerry's ice cream, from literally next door. The pool and hot tub have been wonderful after being out in the Vermont cold all day. Also, in the early evening, they put out cookies for the guests. It's a little touch that we really enjoyed. read more

Easily the best Fairfield Inn I've stayed at. We had a request the day before check-in for one of our two reservations and they were quick to respond and handle it. When we did arrive, they respected my Elite status and actually upgraded both rooms to the larger suites (properties generally only upgrade one when booking multiple rooms). The property is well kept and has a lower level garage in addition to the surface parking. The breakfast was well maintained and was probably the highest quality of all Fairfields I've stayed at. The property is well located near Cabot Cheese, Ben & Jerry's, and is a quick drive to the downtown area establishments on Main St. read more

I've stayed at this chain of Marriott hotels many times, this location being the first. They went beyond my expectations, and I would recommend them to everyone! There was a small mix up with my reservations online, but the person at the front desk was able to help me without hesitation. Everyone here was very helpful, and didn't make small talk awkward like some places do. I would definitely be back. Ben & Jerry's is pretty much right around the corner, as is Cabot cheese a little further down. Lots to see in Waterbury and Stowe. We also ordered delivery from Zachary's Pizza. The hotel is 4 years old. Its beautifully decorated. It's almost been a year living with Covid-19. We did a cross country vacation and stayed at mostly Marriott brands. This hotel was the cleanest of all. It is located in a great location between Stowe and Waterbury. It's close to great restaurants, sights, and microbreweries. The employees are super friendly. We had the best night sleep because it felt clean. The bed and pillows were comfy. I highly recommend this hotel in Stowe. read more

We been here a couple times. The staff is friendly, nice decor, and the rooms are clean. We took a trip here over the summer as well and while their business was impacted by COVID and they took safety precautions, we continued to have a pleasant experience and felt safe. I will start by saying that this is a beautiful hotel, with a very nice and helpful staff. And my room was beautiful. It's beauty is right up there with a lot of nice hotels I've stayed at. However, here's the biggest issue I had with it. The walls are VERY thin and I was on the 2nd Floor. The people above me, I could literally hear every step they took (and the seemed to take a LOT of steps during my stay). I had a hard time sleeping well and relaxing as a result. I informed the staff as I was checking out. They said there was a large wedding party staying at the hotel and that was probably the reason. I live in Las Vegas and I've stayed at hotels here, they are loud here as well, but normally when you stay in a hotel here, it's not that noisy in the nicer hotels. I stayed at some cheaper hotels on this vacation, including one in South Burlington, that were much quieter. I was expecting a little more quiet for the price I paid. I will say that the fireplace was nice on a chilly Saturday Night/Sunday Morning. Unless I got a great deal on a room, I would probably stay in Burlington and make the trip down to Waterbury. I just know that I would be drinking some hard cider at the Cider Mill up the street, and I didn't want to drive if I was going to get crocked. Beautiful hotel, very clean, with a great staff, but they could use an upgrade on the paper thin walls and I'd ask for a top floor room next time, to avoid hearing the people above me. read more

Clean, roomy hotel and very comfortable beds. It was built in 2016 or so so pretty new and it shows. My husband and I agreed that the beds are one of the most comfortable we ever slept in. AC is nice too, central air, so no loud wall unit that keeps you awake all night by starting and shutting down. Would definitely stay again. read more

If you are skiing Stowe - book this hotel. Just need to have a tolerance to drive 25-30 minutes to the mountain. If with a family, drop off the spouse/kids and equipment at the Spruce Park Road turn-off just before you hit the mountain. Then park the car as close as you can to the gondolas across the street and take the Over Easy gondola to meet them at the Lodge to gear up. read more

Had the unfortunate luck of having COVID, rescheduling and then being exposed for my second planned stay. Hotel refused tomove my reservation to a time when I could be cleared. Now it's lose $600 for the weekend or expose everyone in the hotel to COVID because of their "policy". Doesn't seem like they care about their guest's health or COVID exposures. They easily could have shifted my stay a week so I was not going to expose anyone to an unnecessary risk. Will not book here again! Is $600 to a large corporation worth risking everyone's health in the hotel??? I can see why there is a sudden surge in cases, it's these greedy businesses putting money over health! read more

The former site of the Thatcher Brook Inn has been transformed and yet many portions of the historic properties on the site have been retained for a new use. The new hotel is 100% built to order and how they managed to design and create such a large hotel on the site, however it doesn't feel large, is very clever. Our room was a standard Fairfield inn, maintained to a high standard. We faced the back of the property and didn't hear a sound from other guests which surprised us as the hotel was quite full. Minor irritation is that the Fairfield chain seem to invest in a/c units that one can hear rather than whisper quiet Fijitsu and alike, however with a set of ear plugs the sound went away. It was not loud, more irritatiing and being professional inn keepers we are sensitive to noise. The morning breakfast hit the spot but was a bit of a scrum as the place was busy. However the quality of food served and the fact that they do not use disposable plates we felt to be very positive; in a Hampton Inn everything seems to be disposable and many of their properties in our experience seem to not actually recycle many items. Good value and happy staff. We would stay again... read more

We were so pleased with this hotel, its location, and the abundance of great restaurants and bars in the area that after our first night (of a two night stay), we decided to extend our stay even longer. The front desk manager on that day was great about it -- he asked what our rate was and said they'd honor any additional nights at the same price. All of the staff was wonderful for that matter.... Knowledgable, had great restaurant and brewery suggestions, and professional. The location is fantastic -- on the main street (Route 100 I believe?), but it was accessible within a mile or two of 5+ top rated restaurants. The town had such a quaint vibe with an old-timely feel, yet many places were open until 2 am and made some poentent cocktails..... The Resevior was our favorite. We were consistently lit after 1.5 drinks. Back to the hotel itself: my husband would say that I have abnormally high standards for cleanliness, but this place actually met my standards. I don't think I'm as much of a germaphobe as he thinks, but I do expect fresh linens daily (free of stains from previous guests), plenty of towels, and a hair-free vanity, toilet, and shower. Many of our recent stays at other resorts and hotels don't meet these criteria, but the Fairfield Inn certainly did. Our room (#408) was consistently SPOTLESS. Quarters were a little tight if you're used to a more spacious layout, but it had everything you'd need: king bed, TV, night stands, desk, spacious bathroom for the size, closet, microwave, refrigerator, etc. The only "drawbacks," if you could even call them that, were the lack of a restaurant/bar (they still did manage a decent continental breakfast each day), room service, and an outdoor pool. But for $150/night, you can't expect a Four Seasons experience. Bottom line is that this hotel had a primo location, was extremely clean and comfortable, and provided great customer service. We are already planning our next stay! read more

I had no intention of writing a review for this hotel. I love Marriott hotels and the customer service at this one is severely lacking. I chalked it up to location. I travel every week for work, so I try not to get wrapped up in the people I interact with. That said, I love the rooms and the breakfast. Everything is very nice and the location is so convenient to Stowe, Burlington, Waterbury.. On this particular visit, however, the service is outstanding. Above and beyond is the best way to describe the people that are there today, right now! It is freezing with very bad roads. I left and my car got stuck up on a hill, close to the hotel. I hiked down in work clothes (think heels) in a panic. The moment I walked in the staff took notice. The maintenance man working grabbed his jacket, hiked up the hill, brought my car down to me and provided me guidance as I went out again in the weather. They have no idea what that meant to me! I will always stay here, because that kind of service is better than AC units, room size or whatever else might be seen as a priority~ THANK YOU! read more

This location recently opened and our experience was great. As a Marriott Rewards member, we were very happy during our stay. Rooms were very clean as well as the common areas. Staff were all very pleasant and property was quiet and relaxing. Front desk staff had resources available such as recommendations and directions. This location is easy to get to and centrally located to Stowe Mountain, downtown Stowe, Burlington and Ben & Jerry's (right beside Ben & Jerry's actually!) There is also aShaw's across the street which is great for picking up snacks or forgotten items when packing. Parking was no-charge and free breakfast. The property was booked all weekend; which meant upgrade, but hopefully next time! read more

This review is unusual because it doesn't have anything to do with the accommodations, which I'm sure are just lovely. My experience was with the front desk agent, Michael Roscioli. I live locally and had to print a presentation for a job interview late one night, after our home printer had run out of ink, and all the local printing shops and libraries were closed. The only place I could think of that would be open was the Marriott, so I drove there on a late-night long shot, and Michael was incredibly generous in helping me solve my printing crisis. Because of his help, I had what I needed for my presentation and got my dream job, and I plan to hold true to my promise of always staying at Marriotts from here on out because of his generosity and superior customer service. read more
