This was the 4th podiatrist office to try and resolve my reoccurring right big toe ulcer. Doctor…read moreDenisa Riera diagnosed the underlying cause of the ulcer. The other (3) Doctors and practices simply tried shifting weight off the area with new shoes, and shoe inserts which would work for a few weeks, and then after the ulcer opening again they would just try skin grafts, or other inserts. I was referred because of the last open ulcer to Family Foot and Ankle Specialists for wound care, and Dr Riera was able to see the bone protrusion that others had missed/overlooked as the cause. After an out patient one day operation, the speed of my healing was so rapid compared with my history of other attempts proved to me that it was obviously the cause of my troubles. I cannot stress strongly enough that if you are not getting the results you expect from your doctor(s) to get a second opinion from Family Foot and Ankle Specialists.

I left a message Saturday morning and heard back in a matter of a couple hours. Instead of recommending I go to the ER on a weekend, he took time out of his day off to come to the office and care for my issue. I was blown away, I did not expect this act of kindness. He carefully figured out exactly what my problem was and proposed a simple solution. I had immediate relief and would highly recommend him. If you need things like arch support, he goes over the options from inexpensive inserts that you can pick up at a pharmacy to slightly better ones that he has available at a low cost (I think it was $75) to more expensive custom inserts, but he told me to save my money as the lower cost inserts were sufficient for my issues. I've never left a review for one of my doctors before, but this experience was a great one and I wanted people to know about Dr. Resnick.

I received a confirmation call early that morning stating that the appointment at 4:00, so I asked whether it was at 3:45 or 4pm, and a woman hung-up on me. I had a lot going on that morning, so I just went on with my day and arrived at Dr. Tortora's office at 3:48 pm, where I was greeted by a woman with her chest out who arrogantly asked, "what do you want"? I told her that I had an appointment at 4pm and she abruptly cut me off, again in an arrogant tone saying, "you don't have an appointment", to which I replied, "yes I do, and I actually confirmed it with you this morning". She stated, "you said you don't have an appointment today" and I told her, no, I asked whether the appointment was at 3:45 or 4 o'clock, then you hung up on me. I told her that I wanted to see the Doctor, "immediately", and she went into the back of the office. I heard the Doctor yell, "we're done for the day" to which the woman in scrubs said something that I couldn't hear, and the Dr Yelled, "tell him to go find another Doctor". The woman in scrubs came out and said go find another Doctor then slammed the glass door in my face. I had never been treated with such disrespect in my entire life, anywhere, especially in an office of a doctor, who swore in their Hippocratic Oath, to take care of the sick & wounded. Needless to say, I shall never step foot again in that office for as long as I live.
