Let me start by saying the service was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast each morning was decent, and I loved that they offered freshly baked cookies at the front desk. The only downside was that the property, or at least the room I stayed in, could use some updating. On the plus side, the location is very convenient, with several restaurants nearby, as well as a gas station and coffee shop right next door. Overall, the excellent service and convenient location made for a pleasant stay despite all the other inconveniences. Plenty of parking and at no extra charge. read more

Stayed here for the Tulare archery tournament as this hotel is a good value. The hotel itself is decent and not the newest Fairfield design, but not the oldest either. Service is friendly and there's an indoor pool which gets a lot of activity with families. Location off the 198 is convenient and seems to get a lot of families visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. read more

Cockroaches in the room, including on the windowsill and near our belongings. We were traveling with an 11-month-old baby who is crawling--completely unacceptable and unsanitary. It didn't stop there. My 7-year-old burned his finger on the waffle maker (blistered), and staff had no first aid kit or help. Breakfast area also had dirty hot water with coffee grounds. We had to leave and pay for another hotel the same day. Management said im the only person complaining at the hotel and blamed me. She wouldn't refund me but asked for a photo of the roaches so she could get a refund from the pest control company Absolutely would not stay here again. Our stay at the Visalia Fairfield by Marriott was extremely upsetting due to how we were treated by staff and management. While our children were sleeping, staff and management persistently knocked on our door for a "room scan" despite being clearly told that we had sleeping children and asking them to stop. Instead of respecting this, they continued and told us they would force their way into the room if we did not comply. This felt intimidating, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable--especially for a family hotel. We felt disrespected and unsafe. The situation was handled in a hostile and unprofessional manner, and it caused unnecessary stress for our family. My husband is a previous Marriott employee. We know that this is not the level of service or conduct anyone should experience at a Marriott property. Because of this experience, we would not stay here again and would strongly caution families to consider other options. Management seriously needs to address how staff interact with guests, particularly when children are involved. read more

I booked this hotel through hotels.com with good reviews written, so I suggested to give a try since we were staying in the town. The night front desk young man was by far the only good feedback I have. He was very polite and got us to our room quickly. Walking into room 214 I was rushed with a awful scent of damp carpet and just a musk of air coming from the air condition. Called the young man back to see if we could switch and he was kind to move us to room 210. The room was very simple a look of a motel 6 picture. The restroom was in a major need of a upgrade. I feel like this hotel is a series of minor inconveniences. Like it's technically fine, it's fairly clean, the front desk attendant was neither warm nor rude, but there were a lot of small things that were annoying. Such as the parking spots are very small, making me worried that my car was going to get dinged. There apparently is no gym onsite, or at least that's what I was told, but they did say there was a gym in town that I could get a day pass at and they would reimburse me. Also, it's great that the bathrooms were huge but inconvenient because the towels were kept on the other side of the bathroom from the shower. And the people in the room above me, stomped, and yeah that isn't the hotels fault but it was just the cherry on top ‍ read more

We found BED BUGS on the beds! The breakfast area is VERY VERY small BEARLY could find a seat for my family of 5. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting; the "kitchen" door was open and I saw a lady POURING EGGS from a BAG!? Eggs tasted like plastic the oats were horrible, bread was stale, only good thing to eat there was the waffles that's you get to make. Additionally we had a HORRIBLE time at the pool, on our 2nd night we decided to go to the pool (had to wait an hour because of cleaning) and it was absolutely cold not even heated and the jacuzzi was COLD turns out when they "cleaned it" they just removed the water that was there before replaced it with hose water and chemicals. Both pool heaters DID NOT WORK and the floor is a big issue because it is VERY VERY VERY slippery. Also pool was not even cleaned that well. Staff were very nice and carrying though. Overall please do not stay here with your family if you're planning to go to Sequoia Park. read more

The staff here were friendly and accommodating. The room and breakfast area were clean, modern, and in good repair. The outdoor areas are well kept and clean. The breakfast was average, with powdered scrambled eggs and sausage patties each morning. Hot oatmeal, waffles, pastries, etc. In the lobby, there was a selection of coffee available all day as well as ice water. There is an indoor pool 5 feet deep. Unfortunately , it's quite warm in the pool area because the water is heated and the chlorine vapors were quite strong. We were satisfied with our stay. read more

I travel to a lot of Marriott hotels or their affiliates not just in the USA but over the world, but never have I had the displeasure of finding what I found in the guest room I was given. And if you would like visuals I have photos. There was and just in my bed, on the comforter/blanket was what appeared to be and old blood stain, and big glob of black ink like someone exploded a pen on it and to top it off on the other side of it looked like someone's sweat stain or an old pee stain. There was cob webs in the corner of the ceiling, brown dirt stains on the ceiling itself, soap scum in the tub and built up dust and dirt in the air vent. Clearly not every room is getting the attention it deserves and although covid/staffing maybe the typical excuse. That is not an excuse for overlooking issues related to the health of others especially amidst a so called pandemic. I've seen cleaner Marriott hotels/affiliates in Mexico and Africa. read more

We booked 4 rooms for our family vacation this past weekend (4/6/25). We encountered an issue with one of the rooms wherein a block of marble backsplash in the toilet fell off and broke into many pieces. We immediately reported the issue to Stanley Medina and he was quick to clean it up and offer us credits for the inconvenience. In addition, he always made sure we have the right pillows and right amount of water. Despite the issue, Stanley made our stay enjoyable and memorable. Been trying to sleep for about 2 hours and can't because this location wants to regulate the air conditioning, lowest setting is 68 degrees and only comes on for about 5 minutes. Called the front desk to ask if it was correct they said yes so I ask for a fan and of course they don't have any. Trying to save money at the expense of the guest not sleeping is BS. I'll be calling corporate as well. Do not recommend this location. read more

Horrible experience. Indoor "heated pool" is not heated, although they claim it is. The breakfast was not good, and they were out of coffee. The manager is rude and should go back to school to learn about customer service. Not a good experience at all and I will not stay here in the future. Traveling to the central valley and this was the closest Marriott to our destination, staff was very friendly, room was quiet and comfortable, breakfast was a big disappointment very limited selection, microwaved sausage biscuit, egg and cheese omelet and waffles. Coffee was undeniable. $12.00 for parking in an open lot, don't really see why this location needs to charge for parking. Pool was closed during our visit. They say pool and hot tub on website and they don't have either working!!! We paid more to stay here for pool! Nope!!! Breakfast was microwaved sandwiches, oatmeal and cereals. Room had a bobby-pin and small trash on floor by bed. If they vacuumed they did not do a great job. Great staff. Very friendly. Easy to find, safe area, and friendly staff. But the person working there never wore a mask ( I unfortunately had to go to speak with her 3-4 times about various issues). She didn't even attempt to just cover her mouth or put it under her neck ( not that this is ok, but at least an attempt). This made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe at this hotel. Also they have some sort of a plumbing issue, as there was barely any water pressure in the shower and the toilet did not flush well. Lastly, beware, the walls are thin. The people above us were simply walking and it sounded like they were stomping around. Also the person next to us had the tv on and we could hear almost every word until 12:30am. Next time I will just go camping instead. read more

Upon arriving to our room we immediately noticed a mildew odor in our room. We ran the a/c thinking it would go away, but the odor remained. Further inspection revealed hair and stain on the comforter, lack of toilet paper, an empty body wash bottle, and overall uncleanliness. It looked like no surface or items were wiped down such as the bathroom counter, the door knobs, the telephone, and the remote. We requested to transfer but they were fully booked. Instead they replaced the comforter and gave us fabric fresherner to remedy the problem. Basically almost every surface was icky that it was like playing, "the floor is lava." Fairfield Inn, please do better in cleaning. Docked 3 stars for unclean room, no pool (under construction), and no fitness center on premise. 2 stars for guest service and friendliness. read more

We stayed here for two nights in connection with a trip to Sequoia - Kings Canyon National Parks. Front desk staff was cordial, facility was very well maintained and clean throughout, room decor of the standard Fairfield motif and beds and pillows were comfy. Quiet at night. Also, this was in a good location for convenience to the Park entrance that is near Three Rivers (a beautiful roughly 40 minute drive) as well as to dining options in both Visalia and Exeter. Our King room seemed a tad small, but we didn't spend much time in it so worked for us. Room included coffee maker, small fridge and microwave. Desk space in room for laptop use and free wifi included. Speed wasn't lightening fast, but not a problem for us as we didn't need to use it much. TV is mid sized old tube technology. I appreciate that the Fairfield bathroom was spacious with a good amount of counter space. Also has a grab bar in their shower. Good safety feature for everyone but particularly important for me as I have MS and balance is an issue. Indoor pool seemed of larger size than most we've seen at other Fairfield's. Free breakfast is part of the Fairfield brand's routine and the breakfast here is as standard. We're not inclined to eat hotel breakfasts and would much rather they lower rates and leave the breakfast out or offer it for a nominal fee to those who want to eat it (as in the Hilton Garden Inn model), but we appreciate that part of the Fairfield offerings are fresh fruit, English muffins and decent coffee, all of which work for us. A nice touch was that in addition to the standard USA today free papers in the lobby was also the Wall Street Journal and the local paper was available for purchase just outside the lobby. Looked to us like the Sequoia Park shuttle picked up in the parking lot in the a.m., so if you wanted to take the Shuttle and not drive into the park that is something worth asking the desk staff about if you make direct reservations. Overall, we'd stay here again if we were in the area and recommend it to others as an option. read more

Terrible Terrible!! Room not vacuumed, outdated, only 1 reg coffee & 1 decaf coffee in room. When I asked front desk for 1 reg coffee for my room he said to wait for housekeeping which if they showed up it would be an hour wait!! Lobby coffee is empty. No breakfast because staff no-showed!! Front desk did put out bagels and cold cereal but did not know where plates or cream cheese, butter was!! I am an Ambassador Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy, this is 1st time at a Fairfield Inn. This place was almost sub satisfactory but well south of good. There is no business center. Just a desk in the noisy lobby. The pool is dreary and overly chlorinated. The eyeballs of the kids that swim there will undoubtedly pay the price for their parents terrible choice. Putting aside the curbside riff raff that were smoking stinky doobies in front and under the carport, I was deeply offended by the smell of mold upon entering my room. The number of charging ports was circa 1970 and if you have more than a couple of devices.....than tough luck. The vending choices are less than laudable. read more

I've stayed here three times and the first two were great. Third, recent visit, not so much. It was fine, overall, but little annoyances that added up. Bathroom floor seemed a little dirty, room amenities lacking, for example, only a couple of decaf coffees were provided, forgotten housekeeping (we kept having to ask for stuff, fresh towels, regular coffee, etc.). The TV wasn't preset with no instructions on how to navigate (finally found a free movie). A front desk employee that was the antithesis of customer service and professional appearance. The elevator went down, the hot water machines (or whatever) was down so no coffee in the lobby (thus the need for the delightful in room coffee). Flickering lights inside and outside. Piled up trash in the bins as you entered. I like staying here for its convenience of where we need to be. The beds are comfy (pillows a little lumpy) and, luckily, quiet we've found. I'm hesitant to book here next time I'm in town. read more

Wow, has this placed changed for the worst. I don't know if it's the same management as before, but I can't believe how down hill this hotel has became? Stayed here last year visiting my mom and sisters and this was just before the virus hit us? The whole staff has completely changed, I was over charged, my air condition wouldn't get cold enough, my bath towels were stained as well as my pillows and the wall near my bed had bare feet prints. I'm even sad just having to write my experience. I booked a week but stayed only 4 days. I am sorry but I will never visit this this Fairfield inn hotel again. This place is perfect for the price and what is available in the area. First off the place is really clean. The staff is really attentive and on top of things. The breakfast is incredible and again super clean. The lead kitchen manager Lidia makes the breakfast feel like a down home experience. Waffles, eggs, ham, sausage, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ and coffee. On point!!! The housecleaning lady is really nice and does a great job. The hot tub could've have been a little hotter, but that is my sole gripe in our stay. Fairfield Inn is a nice win for the city of Visalia. read more

0/10 highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this Marriott. I've stayed at multiple Marriott hotels in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I had an approved reservation booked through bonvoy. I arrived to the hotel at 10pm I even called ahead of time and told them I would be arriving later in the night. I get to the hotel and they said my room was no longer available. At first not a big deal because they said they got me another room and they would cover the cost. It only took them sending me to FIVE different hotels at 10pm at night all over Visalia, CA for each one to be fully booked. I finally found a hotel at the Holiday Inn I was told by the front desk at the Marriott hotel that they would cover the cost. Not only was I charged by Marriott for two nights I did not stay there but they took over a month to pay the hotel I stayed at so that the hotel I actually did stay at could refund me. Horrible experience would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

I'd give them zero stars because they charge $10 for parking per night, they don't have an exercise room, the pool looks a lot bigger in the pictures when in reality it's just a normal size indoor pool, the lock in the room door gets stuck and won't close behind you, you need to manually operate it, which is a hassle when you are used to hotel room doors operating without issues, the front desk staff is friendly, except Kathy the manager. Lastly, if your room is located at a lower level, you'll hear the steps from the people staying above you. This is really annoying and rarely happens with hotels, but it can really mess up your sleep when people are walking around late at night or early in the morning. I stayed at the Hilton on Noble street just a few blocks away and it was much better. Pluses: The lady that puts the breakfast together is such a doll, say hi to her if you see her, Denny's and Applebee's are within walking distance. read more

We had a very pleasant stay here, two nights while enjoying following the Fruit Trail east of Fresno. Our room was large, two double beds, a spacious bathroom, and included a small refrigerator in our room. It was a very comfortable place to return after a full day of playing tourist, and staff were very pleasant. The price of the room included a decent breakfast, a choice of h.b.eggs, cook your own waffles, muffins, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit and juices, and a mini refrigerator kept filled with breakfast sandwiches, and yogurt. There was plenty there to satisfy any appetite, and made an already reasonably priced room (we did a last minute bid on Priceline) even more of a bargain. The hotel also had a nice indoor swimming pool. Everything was clean and neat and well maintained. So, the next question: why would you want to stay in Visalia, Fresno, or any other Central Valley town? This Fruit Trail trip was featured by Huell Howser and looked like a fun, mini trip for us. For those who have never explored the small towns east of the 99 Hwy, you would be pleasantly surprised. This is a throwback to slower times, an older California. A day's drive that will lower your blood pressure and entertain your curiosity of how our parents and grandparents lived. The area is so interesting, filled with citrus, fruit and nut orchards, vineyards (a few wineries), large old parks, melting snow rivers, golden hills, lazy meadows, dairies and old crumbling barns, and quaint little towns with real old fashioned "Main Streets" and gracious old parks. It still has the feel of the 1940's and 50's. You can also spend a whole day or more taking a beautiful drive through Sequoia Nat'l Park, and even go as far as Kings Canyon. These are places great for young and old. My only warning, summer is here now, and temperatures get very hot. Make sure your plan includes air conditioning, swimming pools, and dips in the area's rivers and lakes to keep cooled off. And lots of drinking water. read more

This hotel is offering a cold breakfast with a small muffin, nutria grain bar & an orange. That's a pathetic attempt at breakfast with the covid excuse not to make the effort just like not cleaning the rooms while you stay. I'm Marriott Gold & stay frequently at these hotels where just a month ago at another Marriott owned hotel they made hot breakfast sandwiches fresh & wrapped them individually after you ordered. They also included different juices as well. People aren't expecting the same buffet breakfast but we are expecting the same effort. read more

Arrived on a Tues evening. My husband was in town for business through Fri at the Hilton. Front desk informs us the carpet had been steam cleaned earlier and cautioned us that the floors might be "damp." Noticed the jacuzzi was out of order on the way to the elevator, but after just reading the other yelp review for this hotel...we weren't missing much anyway. Oh and there isn't a mini store adjacent to the front desk like at some of the other Marriotts. You'll have to go next door to the gas station. =) However, there is a vending machine on the first floor with water and soft drinks for $1.50 each. My daughter took off her shoes in the room and the "dampness" proceeded to soak through her socks. =/. Gross. The bathroom tile/grout has cracks and the sink drains slow. Showerhead was great though! The refrigerator had a slight smell to it because it was turned off and probably sealed since the last occupancy. Wednesday - Breakfast was average and a tad crowded. I'm guessing because the dining area was one of the smallest I've seen in the Marriott chain. I opted to eat in my room. Much to my girls' dismay, the pool is closed until 4pm per the front desk. So it's closed during the hottest part of the day. Seriously? My girls and I returned after lunch through a side entrance, where we encountered sopping wet tiles in the entryway to the elevator and front desk. No staff were visible. We chose the safer route of taking the stairs up to the 3rd floor. The stairways are enclosed and air-conditioned. Yey! The room a/c works well. Housekeeping cleaned and tidied up the room nicely. All the Staff have been super nice. Would I stay here again? Not likely. Definitely not during the summer. I would prefer an outdoor pool to soak up some rays. The Hilton looked pretty good when I dropped off my hubby for work (larger facility, outdoor pool and etc.) Although, my kids could care less if it was indoor or outdoor. read more

Disclaimer: Visited this hotel during COVID-19, might not be the experience others have had. Although the staff/hotel tried to accommodate breakfast needs for guest staying, I was highly disappointed that water wasn't available to guests, only complimentary coffee and tea bags. Also, the rooms were disappointing in the fact that there was a very small trash bin with no lining, it felt kind of dirty There were also small pests--like silverfish like in our room. This wasn't the worse hotel I have stayed at, but given the circumstances I just wish there was a little more effort. There was hand sanitizer in the elevator, but you have to touch it to get hand sanitizer--for me you should just carry your own to avoid cross contamination. Parking is also $10 a night so just allocated for that, they do disclose it on their website but some people don't take the time to read everything. read more

Normally I would give the Fairfield a five stars rating, but this one is under renovation. However, the customer service here is great. They take care of you when problems arises. The room is decent, but not as nice as the newer construction. However, they make it up in other ways. For instance, they don't have an on the premise gym, but allow you to go to the local one nearby. The gym there happens to be a top notch gym(Lifestyle Gym). So, I'll be coming back here when I'm in town for business. Avoid accommodations near conference room, breakfast room, restrooms and anything on the first floor or you're going to have some unwanted noise. read more
