I did not have a great experience here. I traveled alone and was put in the back way in the corner. I was nervous for my car to be out there because I couldn't see it from the corner I was in. The elevator was on the other side of the building and I was next to the stairs. I had my steno machine my laptop bag, my work clothes on hangers and three bags with me. My key cards stopped working twice so each time I had to drive to the front office to get new ones. The bed had a sunk in hole in the middle and I could not get the temperature set so it was either freezing cold or really warm. In the morning I was taking my first load to my car and I got locked out of the room and building... so I drove to the front again... Not my favorite stay. read more

I have been here several times for events, but never had the pleasure to actually stay in one of their rooms. Decided to have a staycation for New Years Eve this year and stay locally. This place was the cheapest and the highest rated. Checking in was a breeze and I was able to do it the night before all online. I got there walked up and they handed me the keys, probably one of the quickest check-ins I've had ever in and in my room within 5 minutes. I got a King Room no smoking. The place was very clean, decent sized and the bed was super comfortable. I expected to have a horrible night's sleep considering that is my usual experience at hotels, but was pleasantly surprised to enjoy my night. Honestly no complaints. read more

We drove up from Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Day morning. We arrived at about 1PM, which was still 3 hours before the check-in time. I knew we were early, but enquired if our room was available. Surprisingly, it was! We were able to check-in, bring our belongings up and take off to our family for Thanksgiving! This hotel is located off the 198 pretty much next door to Visalia Municipal Airport. I don't recall hearing any planes flying overhead. Parking is free here. There are a couple restaurants on site (Cafe California and Mahogany's Bar), but we didn't check them out. Breakfast is not included in your stay. I think there is an option to add it on. The room was nice enough. We were assign room 402 which overlooked the outdoor pool. This room is located at the end of the hallway. I thought it was a little far for a convenient location, but no biggie. Hubby spent the majority of our time in Visalia in this bed & said it was comfy. We were able to get another blanket for the bed. Hubby ended up being sick and stayed here for the duration of our visit after we got back from our family's house. The two things they could improve upon are: 1) the hot water was barely warm (needed to be closer to hot) 2) our room was stocked with 2 complimentary bottles of water. I asked the front desk if we could get more and was told that that was all we'd get. They are not replenished no matter how many days you stay. So odd, we should get 2 bottles each day we stay! I could hear the tub draining from either upstairs or next door. The heater was pretty loud, too. We had a faulty TV Remote, so the next morning, we had to ask for a replacement. It arrived quickly! We had what we needed for our 3 night stay. The front desk and all the behind the scenes staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if the price was good. read more

This hotel is the worst hotel on the planet. Musty, sticky, dirty, and the ac systems are old as dirt never working. In addition they are greedy AF My friend made a reservation, and purchased the insurance so he could get a refund if he didn't make it. He came down with Covid. He tried to cancel. They ignored him, and are keeping his $430. They have some bs refund request that's done via emails. The refund system locks up. He is going to file a civil suit. This place is crooked, filthy, and is in a ghetto neighborhood. I couldn't sleep worried about my car. Stay away. read more

Stayed for a conference. This hotel is WARM. We put our room to 67 and we came back and it was still warm. Looked and one of the vents was closed. Second day. It wasn't any better. We couldnt turn on the tv and it was broken! They offered to move us rooms (we called around 10pm). We were already unpacked so we didnt. They said they would have someone out at 7am to look at it and they didnt come until after 8am. They replaced the tv with one across the hall. But then the remote didnt work. We just left it. The ballroom and hallway were warm too. They need to update their HVAC system be because it was horrible. They do have 2 pools, one indoor and 1 outdoor. Food served at the event was good. The stuffed chicken was amazing and the BBQ buffet was great. We did have the breakfast buffet at the café. I wouldn't recommend it. Its overcooked and the pastries were horrible. read more

Old hotel with smell of old property. Everything is very mature from staff to rooms. There are three stalls for electrical charging. Only one works. But I cannot see such connections never. I don't know for what cars they are. But nit for my Tesla at all. The pool is closed until 10 am. What is the shit? Summer. Hot weather. Checking out at 12 and I cannot go to the pool in the morning? We came for a convention and were pleasantly surprised at how well everything was coordinated. The rooms were grouped together so that a lot of those attending the convention were near each other. The grab and go snack bar was great! Salads, yogurt parfaits, coffee, juices, even ice cream and Ramen were available for purchase. The hotel is on the older side, but the rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything one would need. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they really made every aspect of our stay and convention amazing! read more

Terrible customer service! We got here to our room after a long drive, to get a room with no AC. They turn off the AC in the rooms, so i had to call the front desk to have engineer to come to the room to turn it on. After one hour it's still not on and still no engineer. For Visalia, I guess this is a nice place. I was here as part of a convention/group. Ok, let me break down the different parts of this place. 1) Staff was superb. Very friendly and helpful. Definite kudos to the staff. 2) The layout to the place reminded me of a casino. It was a confusing coming down the elevator and trying to find the conference rooms., 3) there are 2 pools here, one indoors and one outside. Very nice amenity. 4) the rooms... I got a king.. I forget if I got the standard or a suite, it has a couch, fridge and microwave. All good to have. *** This is an important item to know: if your room is not feeling comfortable and turn on your HVAC unit, and it's either blowing out cold air in the winter of not so cool air in the summer, contact the front desk and let them know that. Engineering has to come up and set a switch in the HVAC unit from Summer to winter or visa versa and that will help. Also, the HVAC units are not really AC units. It seems like there is no compressor so the room does ever really get freezing. *** The beds are ok. They can range from ok to hard as a rock. It's a gamble. Also the internet is not the greatest. My iPhone and computers would get take forever to get connected and then it would get kicked off every so often. That was frustrating. I didn't try the restaurants here. I always enjoy checking out other places. read more

No hot water in the shower. When I complained, I was threatened with the police. When I informed the manager that our entire interaction was being recorded she decided to refund my stay. The morning manager's attitude is horrible. It's obvious this place is overrun by drug addicts by the attitude displayed. They can't run the hotel and their only response to complaints? Call the police. I'd advise wearing a body camera if you intend on staying here. The rooms are poorly maintained and musty smelling. The food wasn't bad and the bartender was friendly. The night receptionist was very helpful. Unfortunately management is clueless and the morning staff is useless. They expected me to wait around for hours while they figured out the hot water problem. I had to leave on 45 minutes for an appointment that could not be missed. I guess this is par for the course when coming to Tulare County. Definitely would advise you stay elsewhere. read more

Stayed here for a good 6 days last week for work. And this place is quite large. Parking lot is massive!! Don't have to worry about parking at all. They have multiple buildings. Like for example the main lobby, rooms, and restaurants are in one building. You have to go outside (it was raining) to go to another building where there's more rooms and the fitness center. The fitness center is big. They have free weights, all the way up to 50 lb dumbells. They have a cable machine where you can work the majority of muscle groups. They have 2 treadmills (1 was broken) an elliptical and a bike. 2 tvs in the room too, just showing how big it is, as well as 2 ac units!! Couldve better utilized the room and put more equipment.... they have an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as an outdoor one. I was in room 418 right off the elevators. But the rooms are solidly insulated. Sleeping during the days, I didn't even need to use my earplugs. Being right off the freeway and a small airport I really was not bothered by them. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. Shower pressure was average. Service here is good. Everyone I ran into was helpful and professional. This entire place is huge!! Tall ceilings lots of space. But the utilization of that space is not good. Just so much open space, and where it matters (next paragraph) they get stingy on said space . My biggest problem with this place is their to go breakfasts. It's not a continental breakfast where you can get however much of anything you want. They have someone working behind the counter. They ask you what you want. Up to 5 items only. And they only have 1 hot item. Either a breakfast burrito or a breakfast sandwhich. Everything else are different kinds of pastries and muffins or oatmeal in individual packs or yogurt. They have little cans of apple, cranberry and pineapple juice. Then a little table for hot water ( teas) or coffee, with 2 bowls of apples and bananas. Considering how big and elegant (by wyndham standards) this place is, their breakfasts was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the burrito was good. And you can ask for multiple burritos, but they were so small!! About the size of a condiment pack (see attached photo). Also, you cant sit there and eat. Yes I get covid 19, social distancing and all that. But this place is so big, you could've chose a much motr appropriate place to safely and adequately set up a continental breakfast area with ample seating. Their restaurant mahogany doesn't open till 5pm, so I was never able to try it. But menu items (via qr code) are on the expensiver side. If the price is right in the future, I wouldn't mind staying here again. It's 8 miles from the hospital. Their gym is the best compared to the other wyndham hotels in the area, and the rooms are the quietest. read more

Booked through Hotels.com but refused to change date and we booked 2 rooms but hotel refused to work with me or the booking app. to please changed date but charged us anyway for 2 rooms we never stayed in. We notified the hotel just days after booking and refused to update our request with 10 days prior to arrival date. I will not be staying at any Wyndham hotels ever again . The California Cafe's food and service was good but between the blaring TV's and lack of soundproofing (maybe a few plants?) I found it an unpleasant place to dine. I'd definitely return but I'd check my room out carefully before settling in. read more

Nice choice for Visalia. Lots of free parking right off 99. A few exits down on 190 for all sorts of restaurants. There is a Cafe that serves Starbucks but they close early. They also have lots of meeting spaces. They have 2 pools one in and one out. Fall prices are not that terrible we paid $157 for king. Everything does feel a bit dated. Hotel is across street from a park and felt pretty safe. read more

The place is pretty run down. Smells terribly musty and mildewy. Like a sewer almost. The furniture is in desperate need of being replaced. Also, there is no luggage rack in the room. No free coffee or any other amenities in the lobby. A bare bones, bottom of the barrel hotel. Go across the street to a better hotel. The smell, is seriously bad. we stayed here since it was close to the event my family was having for easter. they let us check in 2 hours early which was amazing, i appreciate that truly. however, on our last day we decided to wait until 20 minutes until check out to leave, since I wasn't feeling well. we got a knock on our door every hour since seven in the morning. knocks on our door 5 hours prior to check out. i would understand one knock for housekeeping at 10 am or so, but the knocks were consistent with the last ones being at 11:30, which is fair, close to check out, but unnecessary. of course, i wanted to politely let the front staff know how unhappy i was with the knocks so early in the morning, but they never seem to be at the front desk. so, im left to write a review. i understand its such a minor inconvenience, but its unjust when the rules are checkout at 12pm. read more

I have stayed at this location several times a year for many years. Even before it was a part of the Wyndham chain. I am wheel chair-bound and must use a roll in shower. My wife and I usually request "Early Check" which we did this morning. We were told by the desk clerk that we could check in and use our room at 2:00 pm. When we arrived at 3:00 pm., we were told that our room would not be available until 3:30 pm. Since we have other appointments in town beginning at 4:00, this is more than just an inconvenience. Since our grandchildren live in Visalia we will be in town many more times in the future, just not staying at the Wyndham!! read more

It is absolutely terrible and not worth any money at all. They should pay for their own livelihood. In our room, there was plaster that had fallen to the ceiling on the coffee machine, there was a hole in the ceiling, the walls were smeared with dirt. Everything was terribly dirty. The walls were fabric, something was buzzing loudly at night. After the shower, I dried myself with a towel, and it left some white threads on my body, which I could not remove for 20 minutes. Horrible. Perhaps sleeping outside is better than in this hotel. Never stay here. And do not trust any good reviews. read more

I just attended a conference here. Apparently someone forgot to tell their restaurant staff. When we broke up for lunch we went to the restaurant (along with about 50-60 others). There was only one waitress!! Needless to say, she was running from table to table. After 15 minutes, she finally took our order. After a wait of an additional 45 minutes, she came back to tell us order had been lost! Since we were already late for our next meeting, we told her to forget about it and left. This is the place I would stay every year during my pollination season. Looked forward to the free breakfast to get started with the day. This I went down for breakfast which was no longer available so i made myself a coffee with some powdered creamer... thinking it was free and was charged $5 for a horrible hotel coffe.... blew my mind have never payed for a black coffee at a hotel. The following week I was back, didn't have time to change the hotel so stayed there again. Hotel had a total of 20 care in the paring lot, this Thursday was dead. Went to get my room and was given the first room next to the front desk with a hallway leading to the outside with a heavy metal door that slams shut (I have stayed in this room before) Nobody is here and you give me the worse room in the hotel???? Quickly switched rooms which front desk lady was not happy about it. Probably won't be back, lost all of it's customer service and hospitality. Reason it's getting a 2 star is because the bed is decent, room is kinda clean but expect more considering it's a mid line hotel in the area. Even the cheap places have a free breakfast! read more

There are plenty of parking spaces around the hotel. This is located a long block from the nearby tiny airport. This is a dog friendly hotel. I was worried about finding dog hair on my bed, blanket and pillow. I wished the hotel would segregate the dog rooms from people room. I was glad that I did not find any dog hair on my bed. Minus 1 star. The grab and go breakfast was convenient. I had croissant, berry muffin, yogurt, apple juice, hot tea, orange, apple, and a banana. The server was pleasant. We took our breakfast back to our room. Plus 1 star. The Cafe California was not open. There is a bar on level 1 that serves food. I did not use the indoor pool or gym. The hallway has low ceiling. We avoided the elevators and took the stairs as much as possible. The hallway and stairway do smell with some odor a bit, possibly due to lack of air circulation. Minus 1 star. I did see the hotel staff work really hard at keeping are public area clean. Kudos. We stayed 2 nights. There was no room cleaning. No new towels for second night. Only has 1 tiny shampoo for 2 people for 2 nights. Minus 1 star. My stay was comfortable. I will definitely return to this hotel. read more

Yikes! This place is gross. Happen to be in town for one night for family stuff. When I booked I kept thinking "it's just for one night, how terrible can it be?" Should have followed my gut, the lobby was dated but the front desk staff was kind. One look down the hall way with drop ceiling and the smell of scented plug-ins, we knew it wasn't going to be possible for us to stay in this place. Walking into our room felt like we stepped back in time. It smelled of mildew covered w/ febreze and had stains on the walls. We were afraid to sit down or take our shoes off. We finally just realized this was too much to put ourselves through, so we left. We probably could have suffered through it for a night, but I work too hard in life to suffering through anything. They are bringing in hard earned money from people, they could at least do their part to bring the place up to date. I'm giving two stars because the front desk person was really nice, but the lady manager, not so much. read more

Mostly good. Clean & quiet. We had a room in the second building. There were two water bottles in the room when we arrived. I LOVE that! The beds were really comfortable!! I wish we had a mattress like that at home! I was there for the CA State Button Society show & sale. I had a great time so I forgot to take pix. The bad things were that the restaurant wasn't open for lunch. What's up with that? The poor dealers on the sale floor had to get by with just the snacks they were given. Luckily I packed a lunch. When we had dinner in the other restaurant on Friday night, there was no wine that I liked. And they must have been short staffed. Because we finally got our food with just minutes until we had to be at a program. There was a mixup on Saturday night at our banquet. There was no dessert! I'm not sure whose mistake it was. But it was a bummer. Hopefully all this will be fixed by next year when we return in May 2023. read more

This was a reasonable hotel in a fairly quiet neighborhood. Although the farms did let out a peculiar smell. The water pressure was fine, the beds were firm, there was coffee service in the room, and as we left we were given a sack breakfast that included a hot burrito, croissant, fresh fruit, granola bars, plenty of fresh coffee including decaf. The woman that was serving us was very congenial and apologetic for the way things are going during these COVID-19 days. read more

CANNOT RECOMMEND - ABUSIVE NIGHT MANAGER CHASED MY DISABLED SISTER AND MYSELF AND OUR 5 CHILDREN OUT OF THE FACILITY. My sister and I were traveling with our children, returning from visiting our parents. The hotel we had stayed at on the way there had added fraudulent charges to my sister's credit card - so while on vacation we had to cancel the card to avoid the fraudulent charges. Before we left for home, my sister called Wyndham and explained to them that she did NOT have a credit card with enough balance to cover the cost of the 2 rooms we were booking, but she did have another valid credit card that could be used as "security" but we would be paying cash. The person who took the booking assured us it would be no problem - they would not be charging the card if we paid in cash, it was just to secure the booking. My sister has stage 4 breast cancer and she is legally disabled. She has had a double mastectomy, a complete hysterectomy, a morphine pump installed and uses a cane or a motorized chair typically to get around. We drove for almost 10 hours that day with 5 children in tow. We arrived late in the evening - I am guessing around 8pm. We had picked up KFC and were exhausted and just wanted to get to our rooms and feed the kids and go to bed with plans to swim in the morning before we headed out on the last leg of the trip. When my sister tried to check in they refused. They said they HAD to charge the ENTIRE amount to one credit card. She could not pay cash. We had over 2k in cash - we could have paid ANY deposit they required - and OFFERED to. We explained we had been told it was no problem, she is disabled, we have children and have been traveling - its late. She didn't care. She wanted my sister to call her husband, have him receive a fax, give his credit card info over fax and sign documents at 8pm. They don't own a fax machine. I walked in in the middle of the conversation and asked my sister what was going on. She was in tears explaining to me what was happening when the horrible manager BUTTED in and told me they wouldn't let us register and was rude and abrasive. Then my sister said - you know what - forget this and turned to leave. The "lady" started SCREAMING at us to GET OUT or she would call the police. We started ushering the children out of the lobby as she continued to SCREAM and LITERALLY CAME FROM BEHIND THE DESK SCREAMING TO CHASE US out while she YELLED for the other people to CALL THE POLICE. I turned around and said - we are leaving, but i need your name so I can file a complaint. She said GET OUT - CALL THE POLICE GUYS, CALL THE POLICE! And retreated to hide behind the desk. I again said - we are LEAVING (at this point my sister was hobbling out the door already with the children) BUT I need your information so i can talk to your manager. She just continued YELLING for the police! So I took my phone and took a pic of her so I could identify her to whomever was necessary - she then started screaming that I was not ALLOWED to take pics. I said - I don't want to, but you won't give me your name. I then left as she continued to scream at her staff to call the police. We ended up calling Wyndham, with my terminally ill sister HYSTERICAL, from a gas station in the middle of the night - and the only help they could give was to say they could find us a room at a super 8 another hour drive away. NOT a comparable hotel and NOT close. And they DIDN'T CARE that their staff had mistreated us. Then they put her on hold for 30 mins. During that time, we used my phone and were able to find a MUCH better room at a MUCH nicer hotel with AMAZING customer service and explained the situation and were able to happily rest for the night. This "manager" is a glorified shaker-of-farts-from-sheets. I guess she needs to feel powerful at work to make up for the fact that she is a fat ugly troll with male pattern baldness and no real value as a human. She doesn't even care enough about herself to shower, so probably no one else cares about her either. She is a harridan and should be criminally prosecuted for what she did to my sister that day. She is the night manager of an over-rated mid- grade hotel. I guess when you only make $12/hour you have to find some perks in your job, like bullying disabled women and children. Even her own hair is trying to run away from her face. I really hope Wyndam learns to care for their customers - both at this location and the corporate level. My family, will NEVER book another night at ANY Wyndham location. And this manager should be fired. If there was some policy about the card, we should never have been told it wasn't a problem or had the rooms reserved. We would have looked elsewhere. And upon arriving and learning of THEIR mistake, she could have made accommodations - that' what managers with any REAL power (not just imagined) do. And if she COULDN'T she COULD have been apologetic. She wasn't. read more
