Bite size burrito.....
Benedict A.

Stayed here for a good 6 days last week for work. And this place is quite large. Parking lot is massive!! Don't have to worry about parking at all. They have multiple buildings. Like for example the main lobby, rooms, and restaurants are in one building. You have to go outside (it was raining) to go to another building where there's more rooms and the fitness center. The fitness center is big. They have free weights, all the way up to 50 lb dumbells. They have a cable machine where you can work the majority of muscle groups. They have 2 treadmills (1 was broken) an elliptical and a bike. 2 tvs in the room too, just showing how big it is, as well as 2 ac units!! Couldve better utilized the room and put more equipment.... they have an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as an outdoor one. I was in room 418 right off the elevators. But the rooms are solidly insulated. Sleeping during the days, I didn't even need to use my earplugs. Being right off the freeway and a small airport I really was not bothered by them. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. Shower pressure was average. Service here is good. Everyone I ran into was helpful and professional. This entire place is huge!! Tall ceilings lots of space. But the utilization of that space is not good. Just so much open space, and where it matters (next paragraph) they get stingy on said space . My biggest problem with this place is their to go breakfasts. It's not a continental breakfast where you can get however much of anything you want. They have someone working behind the counter. They ask you what you want. Up to 5 items only. And they only have 1 hot item. Either a breakfast burrito or a breakfast sandwhich. Everything else are different kinds of pastries and muffins or oatmeal in individual packs or yogurt. They have little cans of apple, cranberry and pineapple juice. Then a little table for hot water ( teas) or coffee, with 2 bowls of apples and bananas. Considering how big and elegant (by wyndham standards) this place is, their breakfasts was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the burrito was good. And you can ask for multiple burritos, but they were so small!! About the size of a condiment pack (see attached photo). Also, you cant sit there and eat. Yes I get covid 19, social distancing and all that. But this place is so big, you could've chose a much motr appropriate place to safely and adequately set up a continental breakfast area with ample seating. Their restaurant mahogany doesn't open till 5pm, so I was never able to try it. But menu items (via qr code) are on the expensiver side. If the price is right in the future, I wouldn't mind staying here again. It's 8 miles from the hospital. Their gym is the best compared to the other wyndham hotels in the area, and the rooms are the quietest.

Friendly and accommodating staff. The cleanliness I saw here was great..you can smell the cleanliness when you enter. Gave it a 4 because there isn't a segregated place for complimentary coffee, tea, and water like most hotels.

This is what greeted me in the morning.

This is what greeted me in the morning. Staff is very hard to ask questions/service from. Definitely will not consider this place in the future nor I will I recommend them to anyone. Very disappointing.

The rooms are always clean, the Elderwood is an ice touch, and the vibe is always fun. During this trip, all was fine when what sounded like the HVAC system above our room started to knock. It's an old historic building so, things happen. The knocking though quickly turned into a roar. We contacted the front desk and this is where the true professionalism of the hotel crew, and particularly Maria, shined through. Maria quickly came upstairs, assessed the situation, triaged with other teams inside the hotel, and identified a solution within 20 minutes. Given the scope of the repair was unclear at the time, she moved us to another room and even upgraded us (even though she didn't have to!) for the inconvenience. Things happen, that's not an issue for us, it's how the team addresses them when they come up. The Darling team rose to the occasion with flying colors so seamlessly in this situation, especially Maria. So for us, just underscores a series of positive experiences at the hotel. This isn't an ultra luxury 5-star hotel, so don't come here expecting that. But it's a great place to stay in Visalia with a premium, boutique vibe, great restaurant, and clean well apportioned rooms. We will be back.

Room service was good quality, appropriately priced and arrived quickly. The only reason I couldn't give this 5 stars was there was no internal secondary lock on the door which made it feel a little unsafe as a solo traveler and also there were not clear instructions about how to enter the gated parking lot upon checking in. Otherwise I had a good stay and would consider visiting again just to eat at the restaurant.

The shower situation didn't help. The tub spout simultaneously pours out more water than the showerhead, so while you're trying to shower, the tub starts filling up due to a slow/clogged drain. Check-in was quick and friendly, which I appreciated. However, we were given incorrect information about the nearest EV supercharger. There are two chargers in the parking lot, but they're extremely slow. If they're occupied in the evening, expect those cars to sit there overnight because they'll just be left there. Let's call it the overnight special. UPDATE NEXT MORNING: "Lead foot" upstairs kept going well past midnight, then started up again around 6am. We were getting up anyway, but still. Lesson learned: request the top floor if you stay here. On the plus side, the continental breakfast was decent. Standard options (eggs and sausage) plus a few extras like a pancake maker, warm cinnamon rolls, and biscuits and gravy. Also nice choices for folks on the go, oatmeal packets, Chobani yogurts, hard boiled eggs, etc. Also worth noting, the Tesla destination chargers are free, which is a great perk if you can grab one. The fitness room was well equipped with treadmills, an elliptical, rowing machine, weight benches, and dumbbells. There's also a water refill station in there, which is convenient if you have a bottle with you. Would we stay here again? Sure... just on the top floor next time. 3.5 Stars.

We decided to find an alternative place to stay for the night and during our search came across Best Western. Customer Service assisted us quickly and thankfully they had a room available for us. Reserving was quick and easy. When we arrived we checked in at the front desk--it also went quick and smooth, with no issues whatsoever. Pricing was fair for what we were getting and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Tv had plenty of channels to browse through, the bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. In the morning, before checking out, we went downstairs to their breakfast, included with our reservation, and it was basic, but good!! We filled up on waffles, eggs and sausage, though they also carry cereals, yogurt, bagels and other items. Overall had a wonderful experience here and would definitely come back!

From cars revving their engines for the sole purpose of setting off car alarms in the parking structure, to the loud partying going on and this was every night we were there. When I asked the morning desk clerk if the noise was every night the response was "pretty much". ~A glass framed picture just fell off the bathroom wall and shattered on the floor which next to my friend's foot the first morning. She had just walked in and it fell. She had a small cut on her heel from the flying glass. Tried to use the room phone to call the front desk but it didn't work so I had to google the hotel phone # and use my cell to call down to get someone to clean it up. I believe it was a manager that came up and brought some alcohol wipes and a couple of bandaids and apologized. ~Came back to the hotel after a long days of hiking and the bathroom was cleaned up but housekeeping took the shower floor towel and didn't replace it. So I called down to the desk on my cell and we were told we could come get one! Not someone will bring one up, we had to go and get it!! ~Signs around the hotel stated that they were doing some renovations. Not sure if our room was in the process. Rust on interior of the bathroom door, errant white paint marks on brown wall by window, faucet base set so far back you couldn't get your hand under the water stream without getting water all over the back of the vanity. Bathroom door handle had paint or caulk on it. ~The shower head had a high pitched tone when you turned it on that remained as long as the water was on. ~Hotel has 4 floors and 1 elevator and it's the slowest elevator I've ever experienced. Sometimes if it was full you'd have to wait till the next time it came. I tined it once and I waited 9 minutes and 28 seconds.
