we stayed here for a couple days while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks. It's a little difficult finding your location due to the entrance and parking is OK. The staff are friendly and the breakfast food is what you would consider from a Hampton Inn, breakfast buffet experience nothing to write home about but something good enough to get your stuff started on your way to the park. Whirlpool was nothing to brag about nor the pool and the rooms were decent. Would I stay again, maybe but there are many options to consider in that price range in the Area area. read more

The Hampton Inn is conveniently located near Highway 198, making it an ideal stopover for travelers heading to Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park. It also means that you will be hearing semis on the highway all night long. Beware to the light sleepers. It's also close to several dining options and shopping centers, including a few late night fast food options if you are getting in after hours. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the front desk staff being courteous and helpful. The escalator was buggy on my visit. Apparently you needed to jam your fist into the button to make it work. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable and the room included all the standards like a good sized mini-fridge, a microwave and coffee maker. The The hotel offers a range of facilities, including a fitness center, pool that is open until 10 p.m. and business center. The complimentary breakfast was nice. It featured a good variety of options, from hot items like eggs and waffles to lighter choices like yogurt and fruit. The dining area was clean and regularly stocked. The room and bathroom were clean but the noise level is crazy. The hotel sits off the freeway and you can hear every car, motorcycle and trucks pass. I read the reviews and others commended on it so I made sure to request a room near the front or where it was less noisy and be careful what you ask for because they did the opposite and put me facing the freeway. Never stay there again, if I want to get any rest. read more

I loved this hotel, the room was clean no bugs, the beds and pillows are comfy. The AC/heating unit works, but is a little loud , nothing that earplugs won't fix (Which is what I travel with anyways). Yes, there's noise from the freeway so if you're light sleeper, then maybe bring a fan for white noise. The breakfast was legit, and you have the option to bring it back up to your room and heat it back up later with your microwave. The waffles were delicious, and yes, it's a learning experience if you've never done so before. Pro tip:Waffle batter dispenser says push on it, but do not push down, instead move the lever backwards away from you.... Yes I learned the hard way and I looked stupid in front of people. The gym has nobody in it ever and has a peloton bike, but I couldn't adjust the seat (derp). The TV has HBO/Cinemax movies too so decent things come on. Just stayed two nights Sept 21-23 and everything was really good. Easy check in and received extra pillows and comp waters for being silver member. Gentleman working Sat night was super friendly. I got a 1st floor room as requested. Huge tv in room with all the channels and all was clean shower hot ac cold and hotel near all the restaurants and the highway Togo to SEK parks. Breakfast was standard Hilton fare I had hard boiled eggs for my protein as I wished for more protein but otherwise all was great for my stay. read more

I called Hotels.com and escalated to a manager who was able to contact Hampton Inn who finally agreed to issue a refund. I only had to ask six times, and they did what should have been done the first time I asked, with an apology. Hotels.com also gave me $50 key credit. In the future, I will ask to see the room and test the shower before check-in or payment. read more

Was in the area for business and my coworkers opted for this hotel. It's easily accessible from the freeway, so it wasn't hard to find when we arrived. It was a nice and clean hotel. I appreciated the sealed stickers to show my room was properly cleaned and disinfected before I arrived. Love the digital key feature; DEFINITELY want that to stay. Check-in as well as Check-out was quick and painless and I enjoyed my stay. Room amenities: Wi-fi was good, I was able to do my work without any problems. Toiletries were acceptable :), loved having DirecTV as my entertainment option; made watching easy since I have that at home. Having an option to log into netflix or my streaming accts would've been a plus, but didn't take away from my experience. Gym; had all the necessities needed for a quick away from home workout. Pool out back if you you want, but wasn't there long enough...it's a small one tho, def not for lap swimming. Bed was comfy, but the pillows were a little too soft for my liking, I needed just one firmer pillow; not an easy task tho, but that def is something I remember that stood out. Shower pressure was great and the setup of the bathroom made accessing my towels out of the shower very easy. Breakfast - included and individually packed up. With the current climate, this was well-planned and convenient. Parking wasn't too packed and was always able to find a spot without any effort. We stayed at this hotel on our way to visit Sequoia Park. The location of the hotel turned out to be very convenient, as it's only a 40-minute drive to the park. The Hampton Inn by Hilton in Visalia is an excellent choice for those planning to visit Sequoia Park. The hotel offers comfortable parking and a great value for money. At check-in, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff, who quickly registered us and provided helpful information about the park, including tips on what to see and how to make the most of our visit. Additionally, they had printed recommendations for nearby restaurants and cafes, which made finding a place to eat much easier. The breakfast at the hotel was surprisingly good--delicious and hearty, adding to our overall positive experience. I especially want to highlight how the hotel staff took care of our accommodation needs. I had called ahead to request adjoining rooms for my wife, our children, and myself. They provided us with two adjoining rooms: one with two separate beds for the children and another with a large bed for us. Even though such rooms were not initially available, the staff made it work perfectly. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel--its location, service, and comfort. I would definitely rate it 5 stars. If we plan another trip to Sequoia Park, we will definitely stay here again. As for the downsides, the only minor issue was the slight wear and tear of the hotel, which is unfortunately common in many American hotels within this price range. Newer, clean hotel. Love that it's easy check in (via the app, digital key). AC is blowing which is needed during these hot, hot, HOT central California summers. It's a Hampton inn, the bedding is clean but the pillows are flat. Downside is it's right off the Hwy you can hear all the traffic commotion all night long. If you're a light sleeper make sure to pick a room away from the hotel. Also hallways / bathrooms are in their own AC so it's gets stuffy. Easy access to sequoia and kings. In a bigger city. It's a good option if you're popping into the NPS! read more

I wasn't very happy with our stay it was pretty uneventful to say. We checked in around 11pm on Friday night since we are Diamond members we were given water and a snack. Checked in our room and had an issue with the sink not draining. Called down to the front desk and she changed us to another room, while leaving our 1st room the top of the door the cover came down and almost hit me. Wtf. We changed rooms and just went straight to bed. They offer free breakfast which is pretty basic continental. I just had a bagel and some cereal. Nothing special. Super basic. It worked cuz it was free and my son likes bagels. The bed itself was comfortable however it was the pillows that were too soft. I like my pillows firm I was bummed they didn't. I didn't really have a good night's sleep. :( The room was clean and the sink space was good but the shower was absolutely horrible the shower pressure sucked and so did the sink. Front desk staff was okay not that friendly they kept to themselves. The gym was average as well. They had a treadmill, bench and some free weights it was a little small. They also have an outdoor pool. This hotel was close to the outlets which I would never go to again. All in all this place was okay and I probably won't stay here again. It was near downtown Visalia but overall nothing special. Average to say at least. read more

We stayed three nights here while in the area to visit the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Like all otter Hilton family hotels in the US, face coverings are required in the public area and it seems like everyone was complying with that requirement. No hot buffet breakfast at this time but they have on the go breakfast. I was quite pleased with the selection they offered. My favorite was microwave breakfast sandwich. Each room has a mini fridge and a microwave. We enjoyed a hot breakfast in our room. Cleaning is request based only and you get to pick up additional towels and bathroom amenities from the front desk. Ice machine is at the each floor by the elevator. A room by the elevator and ice machine could get annoying but their design is to minimize the noise come from the ice machine. Plenty of restaurants and grocery store nearby. A reasonable distance from the Sequoia National Park. Perfect location for daily visit to the park. Hotel staff was very nice whenever I stopped by the front desk read more

We stayed at this hotel for one night to attend the funeral of a friend. Unfortunately, when we checked out my husband left some clothes in the closet. We realized it as soon as we got home the same day, and called the hotel. They simply told us nothing g was turned in. We asked that they speak with the housekeeper who cleaned the room, but were told she wasn't working. They could not be bothered. We have stayed in other hotels in the past and left things behind in the room. Our belonging were always returned to us. I would not recommend this hotel to any one, the staff where unresponsive and incompetent. read more

The worst road noise I have ever experienced in a hotel! I was on the 2nd floor, east side of the hotel. Noise doesn't usually bother me when I'm sleeping, but this was like you were outside listening to the freeway. They need to put in quality windows or some type of sound-deadening blinds (I heard all of this even though the window was closed and both sets of blinds were pulled down). The staff was friendly. The room was refreshed after the first night (I was there for two nights) and the staff did a great job. The front desk staff got me earplugs before my second night and they made a big difference in how loud the road noise was, but I had to take them out during the night because I don't do well sleeping with earplugs. It was a terrible experience because of the freeway noise issue during the night. read more

The room was dirty, and the showers had bad water pressure. The WiFi barely works and one of the shower doors wouldn't stay closed. On top of this two of the front desk staff were unable to reverse a market charge once I learned they could not give me an itemized bill. read more

I would like to report that I am completely dissatisfied with my stay at Hampton Inn Visalia on 06 - 07 July 2022 and with the Hilton Guest Assistance. I do not recommend booking your stay at Hampton Inn Visalia and if I can rate my stay - I would give it a minus five starts. The hotel charged me twice. I booked my stay with the points, but at check out they charged my credit card for 200 something dollars for the stay. It has been more than two weeks now that I've been constantly following up with the hotel manager and with Hilton Guest Assistance. The resolution I offered was easy - to either re-deposit the points back to my HH account or return the money back to my credit card that was charged at check-out. As of 22 July 2022 - no points or money was returned. I had to call my bank and dispute the charge. Hilton Guest Assistance Team was absolutely un-helpful. Every time someone new was replying to my requests. At some pint I had an impression I was speaking to a robot. On 16 July 2022 they replied they redeposited 3930 points to my account for my stay (I am sorry, but I paid 45 000 points for that stay); I continued following up; eventually today, on 22 July 2022 they replied that my reservation was booked for one adult with points, but the hotel charged me for the second guest in my room (my husband, who travels with me all the time). Seriously? Is this your explanation? Since when does Hilton charge the customers not per room but per guest? They do not keep the original email chain and a different person from Hilton Guest Assistance replies to your emails. They do always thank me for being a Diamond Member though. Well, I am about to re-consider as it seems the hotel chain, they way they treat their guests suffered the consequences of pandemic, I am about to switch to Marriott Bonvoy and stick to their hotels for all my future travels. read more

Clean and modern looking, this Hampton Inn was rather nice. The rooms are smaller and more expensive than I expected, given its small town location. There's only one elevator, and it is slooow. The employees were nice and helpful. Even the housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. This business, like so many others suffers from being understaffed. Some of the front desk employees are not fully trained in all their systems. This is common nowadays with employees being stretched so thin. Sometimes the coffee and hot water urns in the breakfast room area were missing in the evening. Housekeeping is inconsistent. You will never get extra towels except by going to the front desk. I believe this housekeeping glitch is endemic to hotels at all price points. My November 2023 and December 2023 stays were good overall. Except for its small size, the room was acceptable. The HVAC window unit worked well, water pressure was good, and the bathroom had enough counter and shelf space. Avoid a room next to the housekeeping closet. Those guys make a lot of noise. Please note this Hampton Inn does NOT have the stupid automatic power shutoff that the one in the Santa Cruz hills does. My sound machine worked all night. I'll stay here again when I need to be in the area. read more

We headed back to Visalia where we were staying for the night.  Before checking into our hotel we overshot our destination just a bit and hit up the Tulare Outlets.  After browsing all of the stores... and of course buying a few things we headed to our hotel.  The Hampton Inn is located right off the freeway but is surprisingly quiet.  The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Although one of the reviews on here mentioned bed bugs which got us kind of concerned we did not run into that issue. We did check the bed and headboard and noticed that there was a plastic covering on the mattress which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were nice and clean.  The only issue I had was that the bathroom door would not stay open but that was a very minor issue. There was plenty of parking and breakfast in the morning which we did not partake in but looked yummy. Overall we were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again. read more

This is only a review for the breakfast buffet. I was very surprised that a property of Hilton would provide such a stingy breakfast offering. We stayed for 3 nights and it never got any better. The list of what they didn't have is longer that what they did have. The hot breakfast choices were just plain awful. (watery scramble eggs and turkey sausage) the bagels must have come out of the freezer as they had indents on one side-maybe left on a rack to thaw out? Only 2 choices of juice, 2 choices of pastries and no cut fruit. I have had much better at much cheaper hotels! Not likely to stay here again. Everything else about the hotel was great-that's why a terrible breakfast was so surprising. read more

This is my go to hotel when I visit family or friends. It is near the freeway which can make for a bit of noise if your room is facing north. The pool and spa area are nice to relax in. The workout room is big enough and well stocked enough that you can get your workout on. A bit far from eateries so make sure you grab a few snacks from the vending machine before you get back to your room. I feel like the neighborhood is safe enough to return to the hotel late at night or to leave your car in the parking lot. Heck, the sheriff station is nearby. :) The rooms are modern and clean with big old comfy beds. They are my favorite. Bathroom is spacious enough to get yourself all clean. The shower is very roomy as well. Get down to the dining room/kitchen super early to beat the crowds so you can get a fresh waffle made to go with your eggs and bacon. read more

Would never stay here again. It is right by the highway and SUPER noisy. You cant get a good nights rest here, you hear the highway all night (even with earplugs which I had on), its super loud. Also, I was on the 4th floor and there is absolutely NO pressure in the shower. Terrible experience to shower with limited flow. If you cant sleep well and clean up well, what's the point? How can Hilton claim this as one of theirs. Hilton should be embarrassed to own this place. They try hard, don't get me wrong, the interior isn't that bad and definitely a step up from the Motel8 AND Motel6 on both sides of this hotel. That's right, in the middle of the ghetto motels. The rooms are pretty clean and seem sanitary. How do I say rooms being 1 person you ask? My first room the shower dripped so bad I couldn't concentrate on anything but that. The second room has a wonky thermostat that I had to call for assistance. Then it kicked on/off in 3 minutes cycles all night. Calling the front desk it rang and rang until I went down and she was just sitting there on her phone. There's almost no tv to watch unless you like HSN or telemarketing channels. On the 4th floor it took 8 minutes (yes I timed) to get looke warm water for my shower. The built in shampoo bottles dried my hair so bad I had to use conditioner which as a man I never do. The towels must've came from next door they were thin stinky and stained. When I walked from bathroom to sit on bed and put in socks my feet were black from the dirty carpet. For breakfast it's a carb fest. I don't eat gluten or carbs. The only thing for me was runny disgusting scrambled eggs which I spat out. An apple, that's what I got for breakfast. Honestly, you are better off staying in Tulare than here. Never ever again will I stay here. read more

We were in the area for a family wedding last weekend. Being a Diamond member, we felt appreciated. The hotel is situated next to the freeway. We stayed in Room 411, which was facing the freeway. The truth is that, yes, you can hear some noise. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being unbearable, the noise was a 5 or 6 to me. The rooms need a freshen up. Our room was clean, the bed was somewhat comfortable, everything was in working order, but the water, that's another story..... please turn on your shower for 10 minutes before you jump in for hot water. It takes forever to get hot water, and it's not hot enough. The hotel wasn't packed, and the free breakfast leaves little to desire. The reason why I gave this 3 star hotel 5 stars, is because the customer service really stood out, and the whole place was clean. When we arrived at this hotel at 1:30pm, our room was available and ready. They also have Directv in the room with limited channels. The location is easy to get to, and we didn't have any issues with checking out. If we visit this area again, I'd stay here again. read more

We stayed 2 nights/3 days to do a quick visit at Sequoia National Park and enjoyed a full day of boating at Lake Kaweah. This hotel is a little over 20 miles from both destinations and conveniently located within Visalia. So far every Hampton Inn I've stayed at are consistent with their service and amenities. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast options. Our rooms were facing the pool and we didn't hear any traffic noise from the freeway. I appreciate their eco-friendliness too. My only complaint is that both bathrooms did not have a ventilation fan and no bathroom window so it got musty. Besides that, our overall stay was great and I would stay here again. read more
