I began having heart issues in May of 2021 and after seeing my family physician and undergoing testing, was diagnosed with both PVC and SVT. Two years and several medications later.....not to mention three ER trips and quite a few doctors visits.....my physician referred my case to Dr. Reinig. The first appointment I went to I was full of anxiety. Let me backtrack.....I'm a cleithrophobic. If you aren't familiar, it's not a great phobia to have for closed door office visits and future unknown places and procedures. Spending the first visit just trying to make it through my panic attack....I unfortunately heard nothing Dr. Reinig had to say. Not his fault....totally mine! I should have spoken up and didn't. A few days later I called back in to his office and explained what had happened and they set me up for another appointment with no issue at all. After my 2nd appointment that I went into armed with all my uncertainties and questions, Dr. Reinig was understanding and compassionate and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable enough to schedule the heart ablation to control/fix my heart issue as the medicines just weren't working for my specific problem (due to being asthmatic I could only take up to a certain milligram and it wasn't enough to control my SVT).  For part two of my story...it was decided that Dr. Hattoum would be performing my ablation. I was again nervous, because I had not met Dr. Hattoum. Restart anxiety. Upon leaving I immediately began researching him. I ran across his statement on one site that read: "I want to give my patients a safe, comfortable place to treat and manage all heart rhythm issues using the most advanced methods, and most importantly, a you-centered focus."- Alexander Hattoum, MD I thought to myself, no way will my anxiety needs be met and no way will I be the focus. My heart will be (which is awesome and obviously the reason I'll be there) so that will just have to be enough. I have to get through this, I have to get this done.  I called the office for the third time and asked if I could get an appointment with Dr. Hattoum so I could meet him and talk about my phobia issue and how we could manage it on the day of so I could follow through. I didn't want to waste his time or mine on the day of. I was met with listening ears, compassion, understanding and honestly just a down to earth cardiologist who took more than enough time to explain everything that would happen on the day of and how we would manage it and most importantly if I couldn't follow through, we wouldn't and would continue trying additional medications (that I already felt likely wouldnt work because I had been on several during the course of two years). It was truly a "me centered focus".  Arriving at Fairfield Medical, from the moment I walked in, pre op, op and post op, I was so incredibly cared for. Every single person! For me not to feel anxious is virtually impossible, and I didn't (not abnormally anyway!). I never once felt like I was just a number on the list that day. I felt seen, heard and understood and the care I received from Dr. Hattoum and his team that day will forever be appreciated and I will forever be grateful. What a joke! My son has a broken clavicle - brought in from camp. I arrived after diving a few hours - X-rays haven't been read - sitting in a lobby with individuals attached to IV poles. No one knows anything. This is an embarrassment and I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. read more

brought my 8 month old son in because of a medical emergency. The door to our triage room was opened in the back. The NURSES were talking loudly and unprofessionally about the situation. There is NO way a sobbing Mother needs to hear crap talking when her son had surgery the day before and has a danged bandage that is cutting off circulation. My daughter went to FMC three separate times and was misdiagnosed with Bell's palsy each time. They ruled out a stroke but failed to look deeper until much later, when it turned out to be a severe tooth infection. She was sent home in excruciating pain without any antibiotics or pain medication--not even Tramadol. I had to call myself, desperate for help, and the nurse actually hung up on me. Honestly, disappointing. I went to the ER for a Migraine and some other neurological issues. They didn't do anything for the neuro issues, honestly wouldn't even help with a 10 feet pole. I needed a steroid, it wasn't that difficult but the NP in the ER couldn't be bother to even look at my case. I was in a major flare-up. The only positive thing was the guy administering the medication and taking the blood. The NP was terrible and honestly had terrible bedside manners. I get it, I need to check in with Neuro but they were clear signs I needed more help and didn't receive it. A waste of my time. read more

I see the reviews on both ends of the spectrum, so let me preface this review by saying this is based on my treatment for my knees. I've never had received general or emergency treatment because I live in Reynoldsburg and have no reason to travel to Lancaster for treatment, other than this. Not only was the surgery thorough, leaving me with a "not unpleasant" scar, my doctor had me up and walking the same day and I was out in 3 days. I was so pleased with the results that I chose him and this hospital, four years later, for my other knee replacement, which he noted was coming due. He let me make the decision of when and when the time came, he did an awesome job again. The treatment provided by the nursing staff and PTs were awesome and I had zero issues with my stay. read more

I went in through the ER had the best help I could possibly have everybody was great they assigned me to a room I was there for 4 days everybody every nurse the cleaning people anybody that did anything there went above and beyond I'm sure their jobs they smiled doing it never complained about I never heard him complain about nothing but that was my first experience ever being in the hospital and let's just say I'm over 65 years old I've never had any surgery where I had to stay at the hospital I can't sing their praises loud enough they were awesome every one of them there was not one person that was rude or crude to me I would strongly recommend this hospital for anybody that needed any assistance read more

My husband went to the ER for right side stomach pain and CT scans were done. They said mild colitis. Pain continued and my primary suggested a colonoscopy. They found nothing in the colonoscopy. In the continued search for answers my PCP just mentioned there were kidney stones on the CT scan and maybe see the urologist. WHAT?! Nobody mentioned kidney stones nor did my take home paperwork mention that! It's been over 4 months of pain for what we thought was IBS and its multiple kidney stones. I've spend so much money looking for answers and not to mention the outrageous ER bill that omitted so much information! I personally refuse to go to FMC myself because of multiple issues ive had with billing. read more

Hospital sucks! The care is horrible. They don't give you the proper medication you are currently taking! They don't check on you. I went for high blood pressure and they did nothing. I ended up leaving while I was admitted and went to a different hospital. I wouldn't take my dog to this shit hole! read more

As a visiting user. I was appalled by the length of time it took to be seen, still waiting. Been here for 5 hours and have seen several people leave after waiting for a lesser amount of time. Severely understaffed. Was a Sunday night from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am and still sitting here. Came in with a fever severe aches pain in my groin and sciatic pain. Do not go to this hospital Die instead. You will get service sooner by a coroner! One star. Only because of the front desk man. Yet he liked to talk a lot. Not fun when you have a headache! read more

Being a visitor from South Carolina I want to tell you how impressed we were with the care I received. June 10 in the afternoon I had an arm lesion ,and shortness of breath. Each and every person I was in contact with was profession, cheerful, and dedicated to he health of the patient. I live in Pickerington Ohio and on July 3rd I had difficulty breathing, I went to Ohio Health Emergency Room on July 4th, after several tests it was decided by the Doctor that I would be transported to a Hospital for treatment. My first choice was Mt Carmel East but they had no beds, so I chose Fairfield Medical Center, a family member is a RN there. I was so glad that I chose your Hospital. I have found that the Nurses, Nurse assistants, Therapists and the Doctor and his assistant were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would like to especially thank Nurses Patricia, Brittany,Jake and assistant Nurses Michelle, and Carly and by all means Dr.Compus. No place to be sick or in pain I had surgery there and they didn't treat my surgical pain and I cried out in pain. I was told my nursing staff if I didn't calm down I was going to be kicked out of the hospital. When my BP went 300/180 they said I needed BP meds. They didn't work and I was still in tremendous pain. They finally gave me pain meds and my BP went too low because all I really needed was the pain relief. I don't have high BP most of the time but pain causes it to skyrocket. I had a a knee replacement and they were giving me regular tylenol as my sole source of pain meds. I had a stomach surgery and can't take NSAIDS and they said that is all they prescribe now is either Tylenol or Advil for pain. Only cancer patients stage 3 or above get narcotics. I just had a total knee replacement and the nurse informed me most patients don't require any pain meds as the surgery isn't all that painful. read more

This place is terrible. My daughter ran a very high fever and after taking her to the ER was told that our thermometer was not working correctly by the P.A. Not to mention my wife sat for 2 hours with our daughter waiting. After leaving Fairfield, we headed to the hospital we should have went to in the first place, Children's Hospital in Columbus. After moving to Pickerington, Fairfield County was all new to us. As my luck I needed a new doctor , and he was associated with Fairfield Medical Centers. Over the past 13 months I have required the services of Fairfield Medical Center. I have found the nurses, doctors and staff to be outstanding. They are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I grew up in Lancaster, so I've been familiar with the area and this hospital, as this is where my mother used to work. I've had family members in here before and it was easy to get to, park, and find the room of your family member. Now, the facility has grown so much that it is so difficult to navigate and there are different elevators for different sections of the hospital. Very frustrating. My dad has originally went in that hospital for surgery in March. He's since been in and out of that hospital many times as a result of complications and it is now May. They like to do a "watch and wait" kind of thing instead of acting on something and I wish he would have had surgery at one of the more prominent hospitals in Columbus. He would have been recovered by now. As for the staff, I only interacted with one person and she was so very nice that she offered to walk me to my dad's room to make sure I didn't get lost. She was sweet. Other than that, I had little interaction with the staff. Too big, not enough action to help people get well. Not a huge fan. read more

Nice staff. I like most of the doctors. Has a small town feel, so everyone is really friendly and treat you like a person, not a number.

My daughter had her first baby and her nurse, Dawn, was absolutely fabulous. She was very attentive and caring. It was obvious she loves what she does. The care overall was fabulous, from the unit clerk to the lactating nurse. I did not give a five star because the maternity floor is very outdated. Overall, a wonderful experience! read more
