Dr C was negligent, hid in her office refused to speak with me after mutilating my daughter's mouth and they sent me home with no care instructions. Orange Children's Dentistry is vibrant, colorful and interactive. There is an interactive projection on the floor. My daughter was squashing grapes, walking trails and just doing a bunch of jumping in the game. Of course I went over and tried; really cool, great way to pass the time when you're waiting. While in the chair they asked her what she wanted to watch. She said Bluey and Bluey it was. They gave her a pair of cute sunglasses for the bright light and she even picked her toothpaste flavor. Everything went so smooth. The prize wall was the best part of course. She chose bubbles. I Highly recommend this office for your children. They also have a no cavities wall. My daughter was excited to see her name up there. The staff is polite, they do a reminder call as well as text so you don't miss your appointment. The Dr. is very patient and really knows how to handle the lite ones.

Do not go here. Avoid at all costs. In late April 2022, I…read morevisited All Kids Dental and saw Dr. Julia Bonks. She determined that my 4-year-old son needed to be put under anesthesia to fix his mouth. The earliest surgery they had was Sept. We were told they only do 1 of these surgeries 1 day per month, which was why the surgery was scheduled five months out (later told it was because dr. needed to get a certification, so there's one lie). We scheduled everything and all seemed fine. Got a reminder for the appt several times leading up to the day of, but hadn't gotten info on how to prepare my son for appt (fasting, covid test, etc.). AKD told me that he was all set and I'd receive a call from the hospital the day before the surgery. On Sept 8th, I hadn't heard from the hospital yet, so I called AKD. I went back and forth with them throughout the day and was told I would absolutely hear later in the day. At this point, I'm getting nervous because my son is supposed to be going under anesthesia in the morning and I still don't have info on how to prep him. At 7:37 p.m., I called the hospital back and was transferred to someone who helped me look into this. They told me that there had never been anything scheduled for my son. I called AKD and no one returned my call. All Kids Dental opened at 9 a.m. on Fri, so I waited to hear. In the meantime, at 8:04 a.m., Michelle (Hospital pre-admin nurse) did some digging and confirmed that nothing had ever been scheduled (or canceled for that matter). She asked me to keep her in the loop and offered to assist me in finding out further info about what was going on. At 9:05 am, I called AKD. Was immediately placed on hold for 7 min then hung up on. I called back at 9:13 and spoke with a woman who told me that Bridgeport Hospital had emailed her at 6 a.m. to cancel the surgery for the day since dental was not an acceptable insurance for going under anesthesia, and that someone from the hospital should have called me to clear this up. The hospital never called to clear it up, and I expressed confusion since I had provided both medical and dental insurance info. She said that Hospital didn't have my medical info so that was probably why it was canceled. She said it was no problem, and that his pre-op would be good through Sept 20th. Then she told me she would need to have the Office Manager call me back to help me further. We hung up the phone call with the expectation that SOMEONE would call me to clear up what happened. After I hung up with her, I got a phone call from Michele at Bridgeport Hospital (at 9:38 a.m.). She told me that she talked to Ashley at All Kids Dental and Ashley said that AKD had never made the appointment because my son's pre-op had expired. AKD had told me that my pre-op was still good, so this was a lie. It isn't an acceptable response since no one called me to express that this was an issue. As recently as Tuesday, my appointment had been confirmed. Esp since the hospital confirmed that they had never made the appt but told me the hospital canceled it! Lies. I went back and forth with AKD, and the staff told me they could no longer assist me and I had to wait for the Office Manager. It took days for her to call me back (with me calling each day and the staff saying she'd be in later in the day). She called me at some point and said she had no idea any of this was going on because she was out of the office for personal reasons. She promised to help me clear this up and I was hopeful. However, it just because more of a disaster. They rescheduled surgery for December 2022 (we had to wait that long because AKD had never submitted to get clearance from either my dental or medical insurance), I got a new pre-op for my son (which AKD promised to cover the cost of... spoiler: they didn't). The hospital called me the night before surgery to say it was going to cost over $19,000. AKD told me it would be $500! They also promised to cover all costs except for anesthesia, so 19k was insane. AKD also tried to get me to commit insurance fraud by applying for Husky B and saying I was separated from my husband. Eventually, AKD said they'd try to fix some of my son's mouth in office, saying it would take multiple appts, but we had to do it that way. Showed up and Dr. Bonks went through the original spiel about how it needed to be done in the hospital, without seeming to realize we had met before. I expressed frustration because they said they'd try to fix some stuff in the office. The Office Mgr came in to say it had to be done in the hospital, even tho they had promised to do it at least partially in the office. Eventually, they tried to get an anesthesiologist to come to AKD office, but they never followed through. Still waiting for them to reimburse me as promised. Luckily, I was finally able to get my son helped somewhere that I can have confidence in. If they mess up this badly just scheduling an appt, how badly could they have hurt my son during the surgery?

As a first-time mom, I was already feeling a little anxious about how she would do, but I expected the staff to be patient, understanding, and supportive. Instead, I felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we sat down. We waited at the dental chair for 20 minutes before anyone came over -- which is a very long time to try to keep an 18-month-old entertained and calm, especially in an unfamiliar environment where she's expected to just sit still. When the hygienist finally approached us, there was no attempt to engage with my daughter, build rapport, or help her feel comfortable. No effort was made to show her the tools, explain what would happen, or ease her into the experience. Instead, I was essentially told to hold her down so they could proceed. For a child who had never seen a dentist before, that approach felt abrupt and insensitive. To make matters worse, the hygienist hadn't reviewed her chart and made me feel as though it was my fault that a medical form wasn't completed -- a form I was never provided when I filled out the initial paperwork online. I then had to stand around with my daughter for another 10-15 minutes waiting for the form to be printed and completed. The lack of organization and communication only added to an already stressful situation. What should have been a gentle, positive first introduction to dental care turned into a distressing experience. My daughter, who previously enjoyed having her teeth brushed at home, has been resistant ever since this visit. That alone speaks volumes. This was an awful first impression, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.
