Not fond of the gravel fields. Nice little complex but everything is that tiny pebble gravel that…read morehurts when you slide and little old ladies can slip on. I realize that concrete (b/sidewalks, everything is dusty, pebbly gravel) is expensive but they need to grow some grass. We were there for a tournament and it was windy and therefore appeared as a dust storm. Umpire called time because dust got in some of the kids' eyes. They have a nice play area for the younger kids. AND the score board didn't work. On any of the fields on our side of the park or the the other side. Story of our ballpark life. Also, if you use the ladies room at the green concession stand you will most definitely be wearing hot water when you leave because the sink water is hot and it sprays your clothes hard, even if you barely turn it on. Lol last tourney at diff park you couldn't get more than a cold dribble out of the sink. A happy medium would be great! :)

This is a community ballpark just to the east of the Independence/Blue Springs metro sprawl,…read morelocated in a small town better known for its big truck stop right off of I-70. A lot of west-central Missouri youth baseball teams play in tourneys here. The park has four baseball diamonds of varying sizes and a couple of softball diamonds; we didn't find the fields to be in great shape, though. Only one has a grass infield; the other three are dust bowls. Also, the grounds crew didn't seem to know what they were doing. They had our field set up on junior-sized 84' base paths, and when our coach kept telling them that the field didn't look right, they insisted it had been measured. We played an inning before Coach finally prevailed & got a re-measurement, and sure enough, they were short. So we had to wait around while they moved the bases to the 90' slots. So much for insisting they had measured. Parking is pretty limited & can be an absolute zoo on a tourney day.
