I've spent innumerable hours at Kauffman Stadium as a summer job through high school and college, and now mostly as a fan. My favorite place in the stadium is the Hall of Fame museum. I recommend this to all baseball fans because not only will you see many pieces of memorabilia in Royals history but you can also see items on loan from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Craft and Draft is my favorite restaurant to visit since I'm a big fan of craft beer. Here you can find a standing room only section that is first come first serve and TVs everywhere to watch the game. The tap list is just okay, but it's enough to get a small taste of some regional beer. I've liked seeing the creative ballpark foods Aramark invents. I tried a chili cheese corn dog on my most recent visit. I'm really going to miss this place when the new stadium opens. I have so many memories here and will continue to make a few more while The K is the home of the Royals. read more

One of my son and I's summer traditions is to visit a new MLB stadium while my hometown team Houston Astros play there. With my kiddo in grad school in the Midwest, Kauffman Stadium was logistically our stadium of choice this summer. I'm glad we did because we loved this stadium. Baseball and football are KC's biggest professional sports and both their stadiums sit right next to each other eastern part of the city. It is right off the highway and hard to miss with it's large crown facing the highway. I will say that the general area of the stadium is pretty boring with not much to do except come to the stadium. Parking is plentiful and it does come with a cost. Pay ahead of time to save time. The stadium is in it's 54th season but doesn't have an old feel to it. It actually had a very open feel to it with a large concourse that made walk around easy without being shoulder to shoulder. Hard to miss much of the game walking around as the stadium if very open with views from every angle. Tours are available which I usually do but didn't have time this time around. I like to always come when gates open to really explore the stadium before the game starts. The day I went, they had a t-shirt giveaway which I gladly took to add to my collection. I've been to stadiums where there isn't much to see other than the game itself. Here, there is alot to see. One of the coolest features is the hard to miss water feature which is one of the largest privately funded fountains in the world. They also have this tall video board which happens to be the tallest LED video display in baseball. There is a Hall of Fame museum in the stadium where you can walk in and see the history of the team complete with lots of memorabilia. This park is very family friendly too. They have the Outfield Experience where they have things like mini golf, pitching mounds, batting challenges, playgrounds and even a carousel. Another thing I judge a park by is there dining options. I like a park that embraces the area and features food you can't get at other stadiums. One thing KC is known for is BBQ and they showcase that with the famous Joe's KC BBQ on premises. I dined at the actual restaurant the day before but had to come get the famous Z-Man Sandwich to finish my culinary adventures in the city. They also have other unique offerings along with your usual baseball park staples. They also don't charge an arm and a leg food or merch which made my wallet extra happy. They have value menus at certain concession stands where you can get items for 5 bucks or less. I explored every corner of this stadium and I can say, it's one of my favorite stadiums to date. I highly recommend making this a stop if you are exploring stadiums like myself. read more

The Royals vs. the Padres went into extra innings and ended with a walk-off win in the 10th, 7-6. Mind blowing doesn't even cover it! On a very hot day, we started smart -- Hawaiian Bros Dole Whip to cool down. Then went straight for our favorite: the Cheese Corn Brisketachos -- big portion, great plate to share. And of course, a frozen margarita because I always have to have one! The K has come a long way. The food and drink offerings are diverse and truly representative of what KC has to offer. Whether you're there for the game, the food, or the experience, there's something for everyone. The crowd had great energy -- not full capacity but very much alive! At one point a trend started with guys in a section rallying the crowd and taking off their shirts, and watching it grow from just a couple of guys to an entire section was hilarious and fun. Our friend got her moment on the birthday cam -- and the Fireworks Show after? Always a big hit and highly recommend staying for it! If you're a family of 4, look into the Sunday 4-Pack -- 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, and parking for under $150. A great bargain and a great time. read more

Our annual trip to watch the Oakland A's play took us to Kansas City. This stadium is literally in the middle of nowhere. We actually thought our Urber driver was lost driving us there! The stadium itself offers a lot of amenities including miniature golf and a carousel. The team museum is fantastic and a must visit. The food options are vast. Parking is plentiful, especially when they are playing unpopular visiting teams. The best thing about the stadium is the workers. From parking attendants to ushers, they are some of the nicest people we have encountered on our trips to numerous ballparks across America. There are literally zero businesses/restaurants/bars anywhere near the stadium, so don't come early expecting to eat or drink outside the stadium. I can see why both the Royals and Chiefs are wanting to relocate. read more

I attended a Royals game recently. Upon arrival there was no-hassle free-parking. Plenty of staff was directing cars/traffic. Kauffman is on the same campus as Arrow Head and shares parking lots. There were several cool photo opportunities as we approached and entered the stadium. Once we were Inside, we purchased turkey dogs on gluten free buns, regular dogs on wheat buns, and a gluten free vegetarian hummus and veggie tray. Staff was friendly and food was tasty. Our seats overlooked home plate and the fountains across the field. The crowd is well swagged. They won! Fantastic experience all around. . read more

I am from Chicago and a White Sox fan but I always like to find a chance to watch baseball at another stadium if possible. I was in town for the World Cup and figured what the heck, I'll make it ALL about sports! The parking was fairly cheap and nicely organized, though a marker to find our car would have been great, maybe colored poles, or funny named section markers. We ate a while before coming so we just got sweets and a drink. I was happy to get a scarf for the giveaway ala FIFA style, but I liked the other companies that were there promoting themselves and doing giveaways (towels, hand sanitizer). I got soft serve at Hawaiian Bros before realizing they had another ice cream shop on site! Oh well it was fine. I liked the fountains as a nice touch; I can always stare at water when I'm bored, and the color lights in the fountain changed, which was a nice effect. The layout of the stadium is pretty standard, but I was not nuts about the smoking sections near drinks/food. Where I'm from the smoking section is away from food and drinks. The funky artwork around there was nice for 'non-sports' fans. I also wanted to come for fireworks. I have to say the music and fireworks were stunning to watch, especially near the fountains! Of course the food is overpriced so it's best to eat beforehand, but we actually saw a vodka seltzer tasting with free samples! That's not too typical in Chicago! A nice surprise. David M has a point about public transportation. To have TWO stadiums across the street from one another and no buses to get to them is criminal! I get it is near residences, but a shuttle of some sort should be an option! read more

Such a great stadium experience. Feels super old school and nostalgic, almost like a minor league stadium with a better product on the field (maybe not in 2026...). Great sight lines everywhere. Going to Kauffman to see the Royals is always a great time. There isn't a bad seat in the stadium and you can typically find cheap and affordable tickets. There are plenty of food stands but the options are lacking. They are getting better options when it comes to food and beer but there is still some work to be done here. They have all of your favorite stadium eats and there are some local options as well. The most recent addition is Hawaiian Bros. There is plenty of parking available. Unfortunately no public transportation out to the stadium as well either. This is a great way to spend a family fun night. read more

We stayed across the street and walked over and both times an employee found us walking and offered us a ride to and from the stadium on their golf cart. It's a great ballpark! I've been coming here since I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. They have taken great care of it. It's dated, but still majestic. Of course most things like food and drink are super expensive. They do have a value menu at some stands. The Royals aren't doing great right now. But it's fun to watch a game. Banana Ball and Big Slick are more fun to watch than the Royals at this point. read more

Haven't been to a game in a couple decades, so it was nice to snag some last minute tickets for the game versus the Mets from the Gametime app. We got the SRO tickets but then were able to walk the park and hang out at random spots. As a Twins fan, it was enjoyable to watch a game but also to explore and have fun with friends. We for sure will be back, but hopefully when the Twins are playing!! read more

We always love coming to Kauffman Stadium for Royals games. It's one of those places that just feels special every time you walk in. On our most recent visit, we took the stadium tour before the game, and it was a great experience seeing the field up close and watching Bobby Witt Jr. take batting practice was a real highlight. The staff went above and beyond, even handing out bobbleheads for the kids, and to top it off, they got Bobby Witt Jr.'s autograph on them. It made their day and honestly made ours too. The atmosphere at Kauffman is always fun and family-friendly, and the ballpark food never disappoints. We make it out to several games each year because the experience is consistently enjoyable. From the friendly staff to the great views and the overall vibe, it's easily one of our favorite places to spend a game day. read more

Personally went here only to see the Royals. *Stadium is situated next to the KC Chiefs Stadium, so parking lot is expansive and the fields are in the middle of nowhere ( in my opinion). *we always wear home team stuff and root for the home team, but here I couldn't here: our Tampa Bay Rays and LA Dodgers ( lived in LA) * staff was FANTASTIC. Got discounted tickets bc my husband is a Veteran, and they were up high (4 something)-- but we had the pleasure to have two awesome ushers, Terri and Diana. Upon hearing it was our first time at Kauffman Stadium, Terri came back with two " first visit " certificates. We chatted throughout the game, and because of their welcoming and hospitable attitude, we booked tickets for another game a few days later, specifically in their section ( now only a few rows from the very top). Again, super friendly, super helpful. Mind you, each time we were wearing the opposing team's jerseys/ shirts/ hats. Even the fans next to us were friendly and chatty. Guess this is what is meant by Midwestern hospitality. Section 420. Shout out to Tom, their coworker in 421. * there are cool fountains to either side of center field which are illuminated in different colors *their HOF is in ? Left field, although we sadly didn't go *there's a fantastic kid's/ family section, with a carousel and mini golf ($) * they sell kids meals for $9.99 in a cute plastic box that I had to have... *their local ice cream place, Belfonte, also has a location by the mini golf. Be prepared to wait a while in line, but the vanilla bean I got was honestly one of the best I've had ANYWHERE. Get it served my favorite way, in a baseball helmet. * their snow cone/ shave ice served in a helmet sucked- no flavor, and very little syrup on the bottom suggesting they're pretty skimpy with it ( which necessitated my visit to Belfonte's lol *there is a huge team shop with a super variety of sports gear, but $$ We lucked out and found a discount store, where we spent over $200, but got a bunch of great items, including a beautiful Tommy Bahama shirt for me. *one night had fireworks- a very long, and very good display. Impressed! Not sure if we will ever return, but it was a fantastic experience. read more

Even with a 1 hour rain delay everyone was entertained, between the carousel, pitching, batting, a playground and mini golf we didn't even get to it all. This is an awesome stadium. We got super cheap tickets day of the game for standing room and figured if we got tired we could always leave early. We got parking nearby and only had to walk a short distance to the stadium. There's several places to stand or sit while you're in the stadium, even with the standing tickets. We found a bar by the fountains we ended up staying at for a while. They had mixed frozen drinks in a giant souvenir baseball bat for $30. We got the pink and our friends got the blue so we could try both, and all of us preferred the pink. Pricey drinks, but worth the fun. They have a boulevard bar and I would've had a bomb pop seltzer if the bat drink didn't fill me up so much, so that's for next time! Seating nearby the boulevard and Joe's KC bbq was available and looked nice for photos. I loved all the local food and drinks available there! Several places to buy souvenirs. Free water filling station and one of the bars was nice enough to fill our empty bats with ice so we could fill them at the water station. There's a ton of fun for kids and families including a carousel and a tiny kids baseball field with bats and balls! Our favorite find was the Craft and Draft restaurant right above the field, it's the perfect place to hang out in the shade with great food and drinks. Great time at the "K". I stopped in to catch Game 3 of the 2024 ALDS versus none other than the Yankees. The parking lot is huge, to accommodate games for either the Chiefs or the Royals, meaning it was packed and slow, but once you got in, it was smooth sailing. Easy to get into the stadium. There was plenty of food and beverage options. The Navy did a flyby prior to the first pitch. Really cool celebration for a Royals playoff game. Of course you can get the usual Cracker jacks and hot dogs, but I should have tried their brisketachos. Brisket topped nachos that come in a huge plastic Royals batting helmet. I stuck with the beers. If you were in the mood for something else, they had vendors going into the stands with hard lemonades, fruit kebobs, and cotton candy. If you wanted something a little more substantive, they had Sweet Baby Ray's, a Bier Gartrn, Pasquantino's Pizza... Look plenty of options. I enjoyed Walk ng around the stadium. There pillars highlighting some of the Royals players, and outside of center right, you will find some statues for the treasures heroes...the Kauffman's, Frank White, Dick Howser, and George Brett. If you bring kids, they will be enteretained as they have a playground, a carousel, a mini golf course, a batting cage... Lots of stuff. Look, I was really impressed with the family friendly atmosphere. The amenities and the open views from any vantage point of the stadium. Also available for free and until the end of Top of the 8th inning is the Royals Hall of Fame Museum. You will find Frank White's 8 Golf Gloves, the bat and ball from Brett's 3,000th hit, and the Royals two World Series trophies. The Royals didn't pull this one out, but they gave them dang Yankees a good effort, and the fans a great show. Highly recommend. read more

This is an older stadium, but it is very well maintained. The water features in the outfield add a nice ambiance. We had seats very near the top of the stadium i the upper most level and the view was still very good. The food is average stadium food at inflated prices, just like every other stadium. What truly sets this stadium apart are the employees. Every single employee went out of their way to make sure our experience was top notch. Every employee greeted us with an "I hope you enjoy the game." During the game, any employee we contacted was helpful and ensured our game experience was the best it could be. As we left, every employee said, "I hope you enjoyed the game." This is a very family friendly place as well as a great place to take the family for a fun game. read more

My 16th MLB stadium. For an older stadium I liked it. It is literally next door to the Chiefs Stadium, they share the same parking lots. The fountains are nice, the crown scoreboard is cool. We did get hit with a rain delay and it was cold - there is literally no seating in the concourse until you're in a premium area. I stood at the bar, trying to keep myself warm. We got stuck in a major traffic jam trying to get out after the game too. The fruit stick with brownie pieces on them are nice. read more

What an amazing place to see a game. Sure drinks and food are expensive. Like really expensive. Unfortunately that is the reality of seeing a game at any MLB ballpark. We're from the Chicago area, and see the Cubs at Wrigley 4-5 times a season. And it's pretty dang expensive for drinks and food there too. But there's something about Kaufmann. Maybe it's the kindness of every single employee at the park. Seriously, not one of the 10-15 stadium workers that we interacted with were anything less than friendly and eager with an answer to any question we had. Food was fine, Parking was reasonable and incredibly easy to get in and out. The family section in the outfield was the best out of the 10-12 MLB stadiums I've been in. Cornhole, Merry Go Round, home to first base racing area, small scale T-Ball field, Pitching speed throwing area, a Nice batting cage, 5 hole mini golf--MINI GOLF--all in the outfield just beyond the awesome iconic fountains. Could the food be better? Could there maybe be more people in the stands? Could the crowd be a bit more hyped? Maybe. But we had the absolute best time. It's the people. They just make it a place you feel good about bringing your family. We're only in town for one more night and I'm probably gonna take the boy back there tomorrow. read more

There are a ton of water fountains in the stadium which are really pretty to look at during the ball game. Royals tickets have also always been pretty reasonable from the times that I've went to watch games in their ballpark which is nice if you're going as a group or family. I attended my first Royals game in college, and now in my thirties (and a parent) I have a new appreciation for all the thought and intention put into the stadium. The parking is easy and requires a bit of a walk, but its nice. There are a ton of things to do for the kids. I haven't been to a lot of other stadiums so IDK if its normal to have a full on playground, merry go round, and endles thing to keep kids busy (and you spending money) We walked all around, and there are top of shopping places, eateries, and bars. The seats are good, and the view is pretty. We'd definitely attend another game. read more

I might be a little bias because I have been to this stadium probably 20-30 times to see royals games over the years! Overall, this stadium is reliable, the people are friendly, parking is fine, and okay food. When i was parking this last time, there were people directing me who didn't have any idea what they were doing to be honest. Their hand signals were unclear so I didn't know where to go. Eventually i got to where i needed to go. I will also mention, the food is ridiculously expensive. I really don't understand why water cost $8. and then they ask for a tip. If they charge so much for the food, they can surely pay their employees more so we don't need to tip. Or lower the prices maybe. But again, overall it is always a good experience and all the seats are pretty good. Ticket prices are usually reasonable too. I just suggest bringing your own food and taking a deep breath before entering the parking lot. read more

This is a review of the Royals Stadium Tour. You don't have to be a Royals fan or even a baseball fan to enjoy the tour of Kauffman Stadium. There is a ton you get to see on the tour that you'd never lay eyes on otherwise including the press box, announcers booth, the locker room for the away team, and the Royals dugout. And being at the stadium when it's empty is quite interesting as you'd typically be at a stadium during a game surrounded by other fans and employees. I just wrapped up a visit of Kauffman Stadium this weekend. I took in the three game series swept by the Athletics over the Royals. As well, I enjoyed their All-Star Stadium Tour on Saturday morning. For a stadium of its age, the K is a beautiful venue to take in a game. I sat in three different seating areas to experience different perspectives and price points. Tickets are actually a pretty good value, especially considering my conditioning to California's high prices. Concessions were generally pretty good. Popcorn is fresh popped. Hot dogs were good. Belfonte dairy ice cream in center field pavilion was excellent, though lines and resulting wait times are too long (a second location and/or expanded operation needs to be undertaken). Show respect for your fans time! Staff everywhere, every department, at every encounter were impressively friendly and welcoming to me, a fan of the opposing team. I'm just floored by the hospitality. Parking is reasonably priced and plentiful. The ballpark tour was phenomenal. You guys seem to run a first class operation. read more

This is an older stadium, but still in fairly good shape. However, I sat in section 306 row A (just about even with the3rd base bag) but the seats are low, there is a railing there, so you have to sit up on the edge of your seat to see over the rail. Not the best planning on this seating area. Also, another rail sits above the seats blocking your view of left field. (Photos attached) Also, a the food service areas require you to place your own order, pay yourself then pick up the food. It would not allow me to modify my order or make any special requests, so it was not the easiest way to order food. There was not much entertainment on the video board between innings, just camera shots of fans in their seats. No real video highlights that I remember, It was an "ok" place to see a game, but nothing spectacular or exciting. read more

Having grown up in Kansas City I've been to Kauffman Stadium countless times. From the 90s when the Royals weren't doing so hot and we'd get cheap tickets and roam the stadium, to the 2015 run to the World Series, and back to today, where once again, we aren't doing so great . Over the years you've always been able to count on a few things: plenty of seats, funnel cakes, and overpriced beer. While those things are still aplenty, there are a ton of newer things that have been added that are great additions. For one, the baseball hall of fame is amazing. It's such a fun little museum that is air conditioned (which is key on a hot KC summer game), and it provides some entertainment during slow times in the game. They've also added some more food options and you can now get the iconic baseball hat bbq nachos which are truly pretty tasty. So, why four and not five stars? Honestly I wish Kauffman would take a note from the Monarchs and get more good food here. While there are some good options, you have to kind of hunt for quality food that's not basic stadium fare. Same goes for craft beer - the options are pretty small, and limited pretty much to boulevard when it comes to local brews. Especially since the Royals aren't a top tier team this year, it would really help if the food and drink options were a bit better to make an evening out at the K even more appealing. read more
