When the technician first came to inspect the unit, they claimed to have done a full diagnostic and gave us a final quote of around $1,000 (after tax). We agreed, thinking everything had been properly assessed. But when they came back to do the actual repair, the story completely changed. They suddenly "discovered" that the fridge door wouldn't close properly and said we would need to replace the entire door -- for several thousand dollars! After we refused that ridiculous suggestion, they said they could "repair" the door instead, but only if we paid an extra $850. At that point, with the refrigerator already taken apart, we had no real choice but to accept. This whole process felt misleading and unfair. If the technician really did a full inspection, how did such a major issue appear only later? It seemed like a classic case of bait-and-switch pricing -- quoting one number and then inflating the cost after we had already committed. We expected professionalism and transparency, especially since RJ Appliances is associated with Miele service. Instead, we were left feeling pressured, overcharged, and deceived. Warning to others: Be extremely cautious before agreeing to any quote from this company. Make sure everything is documented and confirmed in writing before you proceed. He showed up as promised and quickly determined that an overload relay needed replacement. He replaced it and left. When the fridge did not get cold by next morning, I called Chris again. He determined that the refrigerator needed freon, a service that he does not provide. When I decided to buy another refrigerator, Chris came back, took out the one-day overload relay from my old refrigerator, refunded some of my money and we parted quite happily. I told him as the unit was a decade old, if it would be a major repair, I'd just replace the unit. He installed a part behind the ice maker. I wanted to use my credit card to pay the $300.00 (in the event there was an issue and to begin a dispute), but Mr. Owais stated his cellphone's credit card reader was not working. He asked that I write the check out to him. I did this, but noted the name of the business on the check too. The refrigerator continued to make the noise, and I started calling Master Service Expert's number, emailing and texting. For some time they did not respond. Finally, "Remi" called and said his brother's wife had emergency surgery. He said he would come and look at the unit. Last Tuesday, he telephoned saying the top of my street was closed due to construction, and he would return later. He never returned. I later learned that an NAPD cruiser was there ensuring traffic flow. I plan to file a small claims complaint (they are in Hasbrook Heights so it will only be a drive to Hackensack). Also, they are licensed in NJ and I will reach out to the licensing authority and provide screen shots of the MANY texts exchanged. I ultimately decided to replace the machine for a few hundred more than the repair. Rami's quote was competitive and he came back with the new machine a few days later. Rami and his son were quick and efficient in unstacking the units and replacing the washer. I'm so glad I called Rami-- he'll be my new appliance "guy" from here on out. I trust him to give me a fair price and recommendation about what to do.

He apologized and said he would fix it. I have called him several times in the last two months and he said he would fix it every time. He hasn't responded since. The fact that he damaged the walls without saying anything and his subsequent lies about fixing the problem show a lack of integrity. On the fair side, he came and fixed our refrigerator quickly and it has been working ever since. Which makes it all the more disappointing that he chose not to say anything about the damage, then lied about coming to fix it.
