We came here to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was wonderful. My therapist, Casie/Casey, truly made it even better. He was excellent at applying deep pressure and finding the right tension points without making it painful. It felt very intentional and therapeutic, and I actually woke up the next day feeling refreshed with so much of the tension relieved. The overall spa experience was also really nice. It was calm, relaxing, and a great way to unwind for a special occasion. My only small wish is that there was a co-ed hot tub so couples could enjoy that part of the experience together. Had a spa day here in a group of 4 on a Sunday. I overall had a great time. I selected the facility in part because of the cold plunge offering and availability of treatments a couple days ahead of booking. For the pros, I did the Emerald Bliss ritual and my only complaint is wish there was an option to make it longer. It's hours later and I still feel very relaxed. I also liked that when checking in you can indicate if you want to talk or not during the session and I appreciated that there was a variety of spa options (wet sauna, dry sauna, whirlpool, etc). The less than ideal part of the experience is that it's a bit small. The cold plunge is a single person tub. The area around the whirlpool could use more lounge chairs, and the relaxation room is too close to the lockers. Also seemed like with the crowd it was difficult for the staff to keep up with cleaning up cups. I would come back for sure but would maybe opt for a weekday when it's presumably less busy. read more

We were visiting from Houston to celebrate a bride to be. The spa is within the hotel on the 6th floor. Parking is validated if you aren't staying at the hotel. The front desk was very welcoming and we were given a quick tour of the amenities which included a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. I absolutely loved the jacuzzi with its amazing downtown view. The robes were very comfy and plenty of towels everywhere to use. I really enjoyed the cold towels with aromatherapy. There is a relaxation room with light snacks, water and variety of teas where you can sit and wait for your massage therapist to call for you. We were surprised by complimentary desserts since we were celebrating a birthday and bride to be! You can order food off a menu but wish there was a separate dining area because it was disruptive to hear others eat and chat loudly while you wait to start your massage. I loved my massage therapist who took great care of me and made me feel very relaxed. The shower was very clean and had aromatherapy to spray while you showered. There were alot of complimentary toiletries as well. The checkout process was easy and we received a complimentary gift set too. I received a massage from Giuliana and a facial from Dandie and they were the best. I am now a fan of Dr. Babor products, (although I purchased the lip balm and experienced a drying affect instead of hydration). I was super relaxed and well taken care of - I wish I had extended both of my services to 90 mins, but at least I could still spend the day at the spa just relaxing/decompressing. The spa itself was smaller than I expected. I think I might have confused the Austin location with another Fairmont property I had read about. Austin's Fairmont has an eucalyptus steam room, whirlpool, dry sauna, and quiet room. The showers have an eucalyptus spray that you can use to make your shower like an eucalyptus steam room. The quiet room has water, hot tea, mixed nuts, dried fruit, coconut/chocolate protein balls. You can also order a few items from their menu too. I happened to be in the room when someone received their order of caesar salad and charcuterie. I was pretty hungry and envious that I hadn't done the same. The charcuterie appeared to have enough meat, cheese, nuts, and fruit for about 3 people. I showed up about two hours prior to my scheduled appointments so that I could experience the sauna and steam rooms. My tiny gripe about the two rooms are that the wooden benches aren't wide enough to fit my body comfortably when lying down. My shoulders were ultimately too wide and hung off the edge of the bench, making it seem like I was about to fall off. Anyhow, my whole experience was positive, there was always a staff member walking through the spa to answer any questions and/or offer help. read more

Had a nice couple's massage with bestie at the Fairmont Spa on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived early and drank some prosecco while relaxing in the lounge. The massage was great and then we took a dip in the hot tub after. I love that they have so many amenities in the spa; They have the lounge, the hot tub with a view of the city, a shower with the best smelling Le Labo products, and both a steam room and a sauna. Overall: great. It was awesome to spend a day enjoying a private, super clean facility while *splurging* on spa services. We're talking about the Fairmont, so we have to talk money, honey. The spa validates parking, which is great...unless you're a guest of the hotel, in which case you're out of luck Between staying at the hotel, going to the spa, and eating at a restaurant onsite, the Fairmont should comp parking, at the very least. The spa services aren't cheap, or even reasonable, and be warned that they're going to tack on an additional 20% gratuity. The check-in process is clunkier than it should be, but the staff is kind, and it comes with complimentary bubbles, so just give yourself plenty of time for check-in. Complimentary bubbles are only part of the check-in, so if you want to hang out for the day - you're welcome to pay for food and beverages. I was turned off by the smell of fried food in the spa area, but to each their own? The massage was great. Very clean room, a nice "aromatherapy" experience, comfortable massage table, solid massage therapist, good music, and they don't hide the fact that the massages are 50 and 80 minutes (vs 60 and 90). Day passes to the Fairmont Spa are around $50, but if you subtract that from the cost of a massage - it's still not a great deal. Other reviews mention the views - they're really not the idyllic views you'd expect; they showcase the back of the convention center, and a lot of construction. Maybe it'll get better? I didn't care to "live" in the robes (as in other reviews), but I imagine when the robes are brand new that they're very luxurious. I found mine a little stifling, as well as the sandals (bring your own sandals, honestly). Sure, it would've been nice to have a cold plunge, or even showers closer to the sauna and steam room, but what they have - they keep well-maintained. I wasn't blown away with amenities; the same razors and combs that you'll find in a Lifetime Fitness, and personally I think Le Labo products are overrated. As for the locker rooms? Gender isn't binary, period, though I know it's fairly standard to separate spas by men and women. The locker rooms, lounges, and hot tub/sauna/steam room are gendered, though that doesn't keep staff from entering the space that opposes their gender marker. Having female staff in the men's room was awkward at best. She absolutely didn't need to go inside to conduct a tour. Feedback aside - in addition to the cleanliness of the spa, the sole reason this review is getting 5-stars is because of the skill and presence of nail tech, Ni. She is incredibly thorough, and has earned the reputation of Austin's best pedicurist. read more

Fairmont Spa was selected as a destination for my bachelorette festivities. Forty minutes before my 10am appointment was set to begin, we received a call that the massage therapist I was scheduled with was no longer working that day. I was the only person in my party of 6 to be affected and was given the ludicrous choice to either steal one of my guests' appointments or to rebook at 5pm long after we'd be gone. I was calm because what else can you do but was shocked by the lack of customer service, poor communication and sad attempt to remedy the situation. I was offered to use the spa facilities for the day - thank you for letting me attend my own bachelorette party event. I would absolutely not recommend for a group or a special occasion, Fairmont Spa can't be trusted to honor appointments or make good on ruined celebrations. I treated my best friend to a spa day here and it did not disappoint! Online I booked a facial for my friend and full body massage for myself. Upon arrival we were greeted and checked in. Our experience began with one of the staff members bringing us to a crystal chandelier (from Fredericksburg) with healing properties and taking a deep breath under it together. This got our spa day off to a relaxing start. We were also given a courtesy glass of champagne. We were then given a tour of the facilities before we were left to relax. We put our things in lockers which safely held our belongings and got into the provided robes and slides. There was a salt water jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna - clothing optional. The relaxation room is where we waited when it was time for our services and the room also had water, tea, and couches and chairs to lounge or read in. The restrooms were fully stocked - hairdryer, hair gel, shower caps, tampons, lotion, towels, shampoo, soap, body gel. They provided water but there was also a food and drink menu you can order from. The day came with a price tag but the massage and facials were incredible and being able to use the spa's facilities that day were worth it especially if you use it before and after your service. Only con was one of the receptionists asking multiple times when we will be back .. this was off putting. Tip- bring a book or magazine to read while you relax! read more

Upon check out today, no one asked about my experience so I figured I would share here instead. On a positive note, the services were great. On the con side, I treated a client and spent a lot of money not to have a better experience. The spa itself is TOO small for the amount of women they service as they had a birthday party pay a day fee and take over the whirlpool area with food spilling into the hot tub itself. Many spa guests were annoyed at their noise level and hovered in the 'quiet room' so not to interfere. It took about an hour for the Manager to calm them down and clean up their mess. The 'quiet meeting room' is anything but as it is the only other area to sit while there is a lunch table, people walking in literally every minute...while the blow dry bar is also right next to the quiet room. This was the least relaxing spa I have been too. While the staff seemed to work hard, they missed so many little things like hand soap at two of the sinks, the toilet 'seaties' in one stall was empty the entire day...I travel spas often so I notice things that should be in a five star spa. Overall, it was okay but again too many women in too small of a space, not relaxing at all, I would not return. read more

The Spa at The Fairmont Austin is fantastic. My first experience with them, I had a suite at The Fairmont and reserved a Deep Tissue Massage. They have always worked the deep knots completely out and the included and private Hot Tub, Steam Room and Sauna that overlook the Downtown Austin skyline complete the experience. The gratuity is already included and honestly, its a great deal including the amenities. I have booked a reservation every time I've come to Austin, even when not staying at The Fairmont. I did an impromptu spa visit after finishing up day two of a conference. I called at 4:15pm and they had an opening at 5pm. I went straight down and was greeted with a wonderful welcome. They showed me around and grabbed a glass of champagne. I hung out in the hot tub as I watched a storm roll in - beautiful views of downtown Austin! Just a lovely spa experience from start to finish. The amenities include hot tub, sauna, and steam with bright windows and views of downtown Austin. And Ni gives the best pedicure I have EVER had in my life! My feet had calluses and nails affected from polish and neglect. She fixed me up and literally gave me new feet! As soft as a baby's bottom. I don't typically endulge in the more expensive spas but I thought I would give it a chance. my masseuse provided a good massage, but she ruined the experience for me because she would not stop talking. The whole time she kept going on and on about her personal life including her relationships and young daughter. The whole situation was awkward. My therapist provided a great massage which is why I'm a little conflicted in my review.. She Indicated she'd been in the profession for 15+ years and worked at places like the Ritz and it really showed in the quality of the massage. However, the pressure she applied changed quite often and the time management was not the greatest. Only other gripe is I that, I really enjoy the fact that during massages I can turn off my mind and escape from everything going on. If you're looking for an oasis in the middle of Austin, then you've got the right place! I don't frequent spas in my day to day life, but after finding myself in a stressful situation I decided that a spa day may be the best thing to help get me through it. I. Was. Right. From the second you step into the sixth floor, you feel yourself begin to relax. The ambiance is soothing and relaxing, and the staff is so authentically friendly. They give you a tour of the beautiful amenities before you begin your journey into nirvana. I was treated unbelievably well at this place! I was able to make myself a warm tea before my massage but you have the option to have a fruit infused water as well. There were also snacks which I took the time to taste after my massage. As for the massage? Well, words aren't enough to do it justice. It was so relaxing and therapeutic. The 90 minutes flew by way too fast (in the best way possible. Time flies when you're having fun, right?) Afterwards, I went and enjoyed the rest the spa had to offer which included a trip to the solarium where the whirlpool and the steam room are located. It was so relaxing. The only problem I had was that I couldn't stay longer because of my own schedule.
