We ordered two sandwiches from their deli. They were delicious , affordable and quick!!!

We're new to the state and lucked out when we rented an apartment in the Fairmount neighborhood. My husband asked a local where they like their food from and they suggested Fairmount Market and we've eaten there at least twice a week ever since! Our favorites are the fried chicken, potato wedges, pizzas, pasta and fruit salads. The staff are all so friendly and the baked goods are fantastic! We love Fairmount Market! read more

The sandwich bread was very good but the ham and cheese was sparse. Ordered a small 6" sub. Got one piece of cheese sliced in three pieces and three pieces of ham. Very disappointed. They used to have a good sub. I'd rather they increase the price instead of skimp on the substance. read more

Good food...most of the time. Stuff like sandwiches and pizza, basically stuff from the deli area is good food. If you are shopping in the store for something be VERY CAREFUL as to what you buy. Look at expiration dates closely. I ordered their 3-meat, 3-cheese sub and got some chex mix off the shelf. Got home, started eating and noticed that something was "off" about the chex mix. Smelled the bag and it smelled moldy. Looked at the expiration date and it was out by nearly 2 years. Went back and complained. Was told they would look into it and take care of it. Went back a few months later and they still had the exact same bags on the shelf that had expired. So, again...look closely at the expiration dates of stuff you buy as they could be expired. Again, the food from the deli seems to be really good. Pricing is pretty good too compared to other places that have the same kind of food. read more

Owner never has his employee's wear gloves or even wash their hands!!! Got severely sick after eating a sub never again!! Their pre-made subs are warm n soggy disgusting health hazard once again they need to be shut down for unsanitary practices NASTY!!!!!! read more

Fairmount Market is an excellent deli for both everyday lunches and larger gatherings. The finger rolls, filled with egg salad, chicken salad, seafood, ham and tuna are the perfect solution for serving family and guests. The bread is fresh and the sandwiches are just the right size. Ok, so I am not happy that I have to post something negative about this place. I have never had any issues with the food but I do have an issue with the elderly lady that works the register. Last time my husband and I brought our two children, 15 and 4, to get sandwiches, the lady, as we were walking up to the counter, asked us if we were using an EBT card because they don't take EBT. We weren't even at the register- aren't we the ones who should be asking that question? She did not ask the two individuals before us nor did she ask the person after us. My husband replied, "No we don't have food stamps but do you take Visa Debit cards?". I was so upset that my son had to hear that but I figured that it was just a fluke. I had gone back on my own, and my husband on his own, and we have never had her ask us that. Today, my husband, kids and I went to the register, stood in line and she did the same thing but said loudly as we were walking up, "You aren't using food stamps are you?". Again, we did not initiate this comment. Nothing was said to her prior to her asking that question. I literally dropped my drink on the floor. My kids had to hear this again. The person before us and the one after were not asked this question. I am so disappointed and hurt by this. I haven't had the same experience with other staff members but this is wrong on so many levels. I hope and pray that this is not a race issue but it does seem a little strange that this seems to happen to us and no one else on line. When I asked others if they have ever had this happen, they all said, "No." The issue is not "using" food stamps, but the fact that she assumed my family was using them before we even made it to the counter. Sorry, Fairmount. You have lost our business and we will tell others what has happened there. read more

I wanted to give this an A-OK, because I've eaten here before and it was just that. But when you stop in and order a chicken caesar salad, they make it and hand it to you pre-made (which is okay) without saying there is no salad dressing included...yeah not A-OK. Very disappointed customer who didn't have time to go back during his lunch break. Quality food, just make sure you've got everything before you leave. read more

People always told me the BLT sandwiches were loaded!!! I bought 2 they were the worst sandwichs I have ever bought in my life!!!! I would never buy another sandwich from this store!!!! The service was very poor also!!!! read more

This market is a locally known "secret". If you are looking for a great, quick take out meal, this is the place. Growing up living in the Fairmount neighborhood of Bangor, Fairmount Market was always a staple in our house. My parents frequently came home with Italians and pizzas from there on Friday nights when I was a kid. When I moved away to Boston after high school, this was the one place that I always made sure to go to whenever I came home to visit. Even after all these years, they are still just as amazing. It didn't take long at all for me to get my husband (who is from Boston) hooked on their food. We are now lucky enough to live not even 10 minutes from them, so I will frequently call in an order and my husband will stop here on his way home from work to pick up dinner for us on nights when we don't feel like cooking. Just last night, we had the double dough, extra cheese pizza and potato logs. They were so good! You really won't find lower prices than theirs. I don't know where else you can get a sub for $5 or less, or a large pizza for around $10. If you are in the Bangor area and you've never been to Fairmount Market, you're really missing out! Just an FYI: This is take-out ONLY. They don't have any seating. This is essentially a convenience store. They also carry a very limited number of grocery items, so you can pick up a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread here as well. I believe they also sell lottery tickets. read more

Super cheap options, quality food, and some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet -- can you ask for much more from a stop-and-go deli? The counter is located at the back of the convenience store, and they'll make your cold or hot sandwich for takeout right in front of you. This is a great place for good tasty food at a reasonable price. I have used the PO at the Fairmount Market for yrs. I even asked once if the PO located in Fairmount Market was open other than normal hrs for the PO. I was told as long as the Market was open, the PO in the Market is open. Recently I went around 6:30 PM, waited quite a while and someone whom I think is the owner starred at me but didn't say anything. Then the young man on the register said other than selling stamps he couldn't do anything at the PO because he didn't know how to. I asked if any1 else was available who could help and that I had used this service for many yrs but I was told no. On my way out the door he said "go to the PO." Told him the reason I was there was because the PO was closed. I am very disappointed as I always received great service at this place. read more

This place has the best salads and sandwiches. All the employees are really nice. The seafood macaroni salad is AMAZING.
