When we arrived, there was a sheriff's deputy eating there and told us the pizza is excellent. After he left, a Bangor police officer arrived. Service was quick and attentive, but the food was very so so. Nothing to write home about. The worst part was the thin crust was drenched in grease or butter or some other unknown substance. I am very impressed. I stopped in to get a small calzone to go. Angelo's is located close to the airport so I wasn't sure how good the pizza would be. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the staff, and the calzone. The 'house' special was amazing. The small calzone is enough for 2 people. I am absolutely APPALLED at the conversation I just had with the staff at Angelos in Bangor. This is the second time my husband has ordered a steak and cheese with EXTRA cheese and received ZERO cheese instead. The first time we let it go... the second time was tonight so I called to let them know this is becoming repetitive. When I called the person who answered transferred me to a man. His answer was that the bread absorbs the cheese and that we didn't order extra cheese! Well we PAID for it...the man was literally arguing with me about it. Wanted to check out a new pizza spot. This one did not disappoint! The pizza crust/ dough wasn't too thick or thin and cooked nicely. The toppings were all tasty and I personally enjoyed the Greek slices the best since the feta was tasty, and I love kalamata olives. A good place to go for Italian foods if you happen to be in the area. The location is very convenient and very easy to find. Actually it's my first time going to this place. As I went inside the restaurant you will see their cute little dining area and even though there's no one was dining the place was busy on takeout. Staffs were friendly and helpful. I ordered large Hawaiian pizza and it was delicious,dough was not too thin or thick and not greasy at all unlike some pizza place you can see all the grease at the bottom. As I got there my order was not ready yet as promised but it's understandable because they were so busy and to my surprise one of the staff told me that I got a free 2 liter soda with my pizza,I don't know if it's one of the specials they're promoting or what not but it's worth the wait. read more

We ordered pizza on April 7th. We specifically requested no-contact delivery and specified to leave the pizza inside the storm door of our building. The driver, Anton, let himself in our front door, up the stairs of our apartment building, and started walking UNMASKED through the open door of our apartment. I told him to leave the pizza at the door. He did, walked a couple steps down, and started coming back in but when he saw that my wife had seen him, he turned around and rushed down the stairs. We both went through the building making sure all the doors were locked afterward. This was an INCREDIBLY creepy experience, and makes us not want to order from Angelo's again. The above was what we sent to Angelo's via their contact form on April 7th. We never heard back and the lack of response has solidified our feeling that we don't want to order from them again. Re: food- The pizza was really meh. My Buffalo chicken pizza barely resembled the ones I get from other pizza places- the chicken was ground, the buffalo sauce was barely there, I couldn't even taste any blue cheese, and I was left feeling seriously sad and disappointed. Whenever I have ordered from them I have taken the time to see if my total order was completed or if it was half done. With the beautiful prices they usually have I have ordered several of their items and always came out fantastic from them. Especially seeing that I can't go to pick up my order if I was ordering just $10 for an order I got was delivered to me for free. Especially when I knew it was very busy at that time of the month or a special holiday they usually delivered to me in a shorter time then some other restaurants around here. Ordered large pizza online. Got there when they said it was going to be ready. They said i would be out shortly. After about ten minutes I checked again an shoe said they will call out when ready. After thirty minutes I checked again and they found it sitting on the oven. I asked if it had been sitting there all the time , they said no it must have just come out. For $30.00 we got 3 chicken tenders and I counted my fries because they were so small, 37 fries(about a dozen full size fries and the rest are small pieces) and a house salad that tasted like it had tuna in it but was not present. My review is three stars instead of 5 stars and it is because my last pizza was a one star Pizza. I am a pizza aficionado. The first time I ordered pizza, I ordered the chicken alfredo pizza and it was probably the best pizza I've had in long time! Thumbs up and great job Angelo's! I would have rated them five stars. Then came a huge disappointment. Tonight on Wednesday July 13th, I came back and ordered an all-meat pizza, but instead of using the traditional layering of an American pizza-- and I've been eating American pizza for 50 years, and I used to work making pizzas when I was a teenager--- they put the cheese on top of all my meat toppings and then just dotted it with sausage on top. Horrible! I call that a one star pizza. I figured with one star and the initial five star rating my review is now 3 stars. I hope they correct this error in future pizzas and if so I can then up my review again in the future. I like my pizzas made the normal way: Spread sauce on top of the crust, put on all of the cheese, then put on all the toppings. Somehow someone decided to put the sauce then the meat and then all of the cheese on top of the meat. Finishing by dotting some sausage on top of the cheese. What that did was steam all my meat ingredients that were underneath the cheese and made the meat touch the sauce which further steamed the meat and destroyed the pizza. It had more a calzone flavor than a true Pizza with Crispy toppings & crust. It made all my meat soggy in the middle, just because they decided to cover the majority of my Meats with cheese. If I wanted a calzone I would have ordered one When I called Angelo's she told me I need to specially request to put all of the cheese on top of the sauce, and then the meat. That was rather shocking. "We can make it however you like" she said. I thought, "Well, can't you just make the pizza like a pizza is supposed to be made instead of specially requesting how to make a normal Pizza?" Very bizarre to me. For people who eat calzones they might like it this way. I do not like calzones, I like open-faced pizzas. So I wish they would just keep the cheese on the base like it's supposed to be. And back in the old days when we asked for extra cheese, it was still always added to the base, or bottom of the pizza . So please keep pizza toppings traditional so that we know what to expect. It's the people who want cheese on top that should be requesting it that way, not the other way around. read more
