The food is tiny, you spend 13 dollars on a sandwich that won't feed one person. The food tastes good, average good sandwich nothing crazy but not bad. For the same price you can grab a sandwich (plus a side) at a decent sit down downtown. The daily special soups here are always great. The location is outdated and dirty, and not in a charming old deli kind of way. The staff is generally nice, certainly overworked and busy. They often times have a huge wait (30-45) minutes but will still say 15 minutes wait no matter what. read more

Found this deli on Yelp while traveling through Bangor. Convenient location, VARIED selection of sandwiches, wraps, paninis, soups, and salads. They also offer gluten free bread and wraps. Service was friendly and quick. Sandwiches are pretty big. Parking is available on the street or in the small lot in the back. The chicken salad was delicious! This sandwich shop is tucked into a large building that is sort of a new type of shopping center these days. It is right on the corner of the building and fairly easy to find. And there is plenty of parking. It is basically a take-out restaurant, though we ate at one of the two available tables as we drove into Bangor to drop my wife off at the nearby airport. It looks like they set up some outdoor seating when warmer weather arrives. There are several regional locations. So you call ahead or order at the counter. We opted for the latter as it was one of a couple of stops on the way to the above-mentioned airport. I went with the Reuben Tuesday and my wife chose the Bahamian Rhapsody. They don't use sub rolls, just a few types of bread. Of course the Reuben was on rye, but she chose rye for hers as well. He said most people have her type of Italian sandwich in a wrap to keep items from falling out, but wraps aren't tempting to her and she figured if that happened, she would pick it up and eat it! We both liked our offerings, though only I also ate the half-sour pickle that comes with it (this is a deli, after all). We had very expensive little bags of chips with the meal. That is not a complaint --just like drinks in restaurants, snacks are one of the profit points for them and I don't begrudge them for it. These are made by Miss Vickie's, which is out of New York State I believe. If you do eat in, they have Wi-Fi available, with the password right on the menu board. Like many places these days, they have a rewards program, which as I recall kicks in on your birthday and after $150 in purchases. You can have the receipt emailed to you, handy if you keep track of your expenses and sometimes lose receipts like I do. The single restroom is just past the counter and is large and clean. The sandwiches are good but the prices are ridiculous. We had two sandwiches, one bag of chips, and two drinks and the price was $45!?! Also, it took over 25 minutes for them to make our sandwiches, they appeared to be working in slow motion. If they drop their prices by at least a third and work on speeding up service, I would return. read more

First time visit, walked in and smelled great! Service was very friendly and helpful. My cashier made a recommendation from the menu and decide to try what they are know for. I ordered the BACON CARE OF BUSINESS on a spinach wrap, plus drink. It came out to $14.00. In my opinion that's an expensive sandwich that was not a combo!!!! I ordered We got the beef, it's a rare roast beef with pepper jack cheese, spinach tomato avocado and chipotle ranch on a toasted ciabatta bread but you have the option of choosing what bread you want and that was so amazingly delicious, the combination of beef with the pepper jack cheese makes the sandwich a bit spicy plus the bread was toasted so well crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.They have a quite good selection of sandwiches and salads.They also offer soups and sandwich specials too.Also if you have gluten allergy they have gluten free bread available. But today, I knew I wasn't going to have time to go home between appointments and my "step-son" works at this one...so...I decided to pop in and say hello! I have only had one sandwich from Harvest Moon before (in Orono). My SO loves their sandwiches and people at work do, too. I decided to take a moment and pop in. I ordered the "Olive and Let Die" sandwich on sunflower bread. It was perfectly toasted and I LOVE the pesto. If you like turkey, olives and pesto-you must try this sandwich. You won't be disappointed. It is a nice sandwich shop and say hi to my favorite employee, Brock! He will take great care of you. Harvest Moon is another reason to hang out in Downtown Bangor. A damned good sandwich. Ordered takeout: an Olive and Let Die, and a Go Your Own Way sandwich. Both were hearty, filled with very fresh, flavorful ingredients, and delicious. The decor inside is also really cute: just on the edge of downtown and spacious seating inside. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the price: at 10 bucks a sandwich with no sides or drink. My sandwich was very tasty, but I was disappointed that they use pressed, processed deli meat instead of actual turkey meat, given the prices and the rave reviews. It looks like I and other customers have had the same complaint and expect actual roasted meats and not those that are overly processed and run of the mill. Definitely a decent sized sandwich though! So taste and size/portion of sandwich were good; but quality was fare to middling. Ordered the beet salad, which was pretty good, but seems like they opened a can of beets and cut them up instead of actually using roasted fresh beets, as would be expected for the price and high quality/fresh-food vibe they seem to be going for. Croutons were tasteless. Decent sized salad however! I ordered a bowl of corn chowder, and was extremely disappointed. Tasted like it might've had some fermented broth base. Slightly odd color, and there was not a lot of potato or corn in it. Mostly broth; very little substance and there's no way on gods green earth that this was a bowl size. It was a cup portion and I paid $8.25 for it! I like this sandwich shop a lot, and want them to do well, but they widely missed the mark on the corn chowder regarding taste, substance and portion for the astronomical price. Having said all of that, their service is definitely friendly and they have a laid-back, down-to-earth vibe. I've been to a few of their locations and generally really enjoy what they have to offer a lot more than I did most recently. Recommend a few upgrades, and IF they can meet the challenge, then they would get five out of five stars from me, but for now it's 3.5 to 4 out of five stars. I know you can do it you guys. What most impressed me about this location, other than the personable staff, was the sharps container located in the restroom. The Price is Right and the Ambiance is casual relax. They play classic rock and have some pretty cool art of the great ones. You can comfortably sit and read and drink coffee and stay out of the cold. It's right in downtown Bangor. Don't let the street construction scare you off. Well, wasn't that a nice surprise! Tucked around the corner from Penobscot Theatre Company and directly across the street from the Columbia Street Baptist Church, sits an undiscovered gem! The Harvest Moon Deli serves sandwiches, salads, panini and soups. The Bangor location is their second in the area, after their original in Orono. The place was empty when I walked in at 4:45 PM, and The staff kindly answered all of my questions and help me select one of their signature sandwiches. I went with the BB King on focaccia, on the recommendation of the sandwichista (Is that a word? It is now!), only without the pesto. Because basil, ew. ;) For $7.25, it's not a huge sandwich. But it was exceptionally tasty! In particular, the roasted red pepper mayonnaise was delightful. Even though it's listed as being "serve hot off the Panini press," it was still cool in the center, though nicely crisped on the outside. In addition, they have vegetarian and gluten free selections. A bunch of seating in the adjacent room. In all, a very nice addition to Bangor's grab-and-go food options. read more
