Sat outside on the patio. Had some fire pits going and food trucks next door that we ordered from. Ordered fried halibut and bloody Mary's on a beautiful summer day.

We were fairly excited to try this place as dive bars are kinda cool. We went inside to eat and have some drinks. We got a table but had to go up to the bar to order which is fine I honestly prefer to do that so you can get your drinks at your own pace. The bartender wasn't nice but she wasn't a Cu#% either so there's that. The whole time from the second we walked in this guy at the bar stared us down the WHOLE time so we stared back and he would occasionally look away but then do it again. Every single person that walked in he tried to intimidate why I don't know he was old fat and a drunk but he seemed like a regular and if he is we counted he ran off 7 different couples because the couples were older over 60 and they didn't want to deal with it. The food fish and chips wasn't good at all the coleslaw was terrible and it was the smallest portion I have ever had the fish wasn't much better. So the inside invite one star that's good and service and the guy at the bar his picture will be attached so when the owner reads this hell he might be the owner but if not and you know him he's costing you business. The outside bar was five stars the lady black hair was nice as can be every time we got a drink she would say cheers very friendly .

Spent a rainy Sunday afternoon here after our plane tour got cancelled. An old bar and hotel in the middle of Talkeetna. Really enjoyed all of the stuff on the walls. We got there before the crowd arrived and had a seat at the bar. The musician they had this Sunday was great. Got the place singing and dancing. Heather the bartender was amazing. Friendly and provided great service. My wife got a bowl of seafood chowder that we shared that was very good. Right outside the place they have food trucks that you can get food. Really fun Sunday afternoon. When the bell rings the person who rang buys everyone a drink. Happened three times while we were there.

Great laid back atmosphere great local beers on tap inside and outside dining A great watering hole while you on touring Tilkeetna AK

Super fun place on one of our stops to Denali. A total outdoor spot with this outdoor bar and a few food trucks. Not much on tap, most brews and drinks are in bottles or cans. The young lady behind the counter, a bit cold, sadly. Sort of ruined the good vibes, tho it didn't stop us from enjoying our time.

.Loud, rowdy, nicotine-stained, FUN. These words describe this place. If you can't handle those things, this place isn't for you. This place is historic and it's always a great time. It's one of the few places in Talkeetna that is probably much more beloved by Alaskans than tourists. Even in the winter, when it's 17 degrees below zero, you'll find this place packed to the gills with a band playing. They have rooms upstairs (that they don't really advertise) that are really cheap and really Spartan. It's a bed in a room. If you're even a little bit pampered, you need not apply. I love it. I'm not really into tents when it's below zero. But that's just me.

We only went to the bar here, but it has great live music (I believe nightly - there is a schedule on their door, but we were only staying two nights so I did not study it in detail) and a nice atmosphere. The locals seem to pile in and have a great time. The service is friendly, although you can't be in any hurry because they definitely take their time in getting to you. That's okay, though, because if you're in a hurry 2.5 hours out of Anchorage, then you're probably in the wrong place anyway. It had a full bar as well, so you can order anything your heart desires.

Fun place. Karaoke is super fun on Monday nights. Drinks were a little weak, but we still managed to have a good time.

First of all they charge a 4% fee for using a CC which is the highest I've seen In Talkeetna. Second I waited In line to order, early on a Monday so they were not busy. I tired to order a 1/2 &1/2 pizza (the guy in front of me did) but she told me no....they don't do 1/2 & 1/2 pies so I mentioned the guy in front of me did and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah". Man, what a let down it is when the customer service is so poor you don't even get to order. (Pasting my prior review below, I should listen to my own reviews.....but I thought maybe they would have improved in the years) give this pizza joint 3 stars IN THE WINTER and 2 stars in the summer....The summer season gets so over run by travelers that the waitstaff gets complacent, the pizzas get under cooked and all in all it's not that great of an experience. But the outdoor seating in the summer is very nice. The winters though, the service is on point the beers are good and the pizza is tasty so if you find yourself hunting for the aurora borealis in Talkeetna this is not a bad place to warm up and get your grub on!

Man...Am I glad we stumbled across this place! This incredible experience started by pulling up to…read moretheir restaurant 5 minutes before they opened and noticing this place looked more like an abandoned work shop than a restaurant. But when the clock striked noon and the door swung open, we were kindly greeted by a strapped older man with a half blind dog carrying a dead mouse which I can only assume now came directly from the kitchen. Upon entering, we noticed the smoke shop on the left, and the foul smell of 40 years of cigarettes being smoked that came from the cigarette vending machine in the entryway that still seemed operable. This of course prompted the question "is there smoking allowed in this restaurant" and a quick response of "not during restaurant hours" , more on this later. Once seated, our server dressed in tight blue jeans and a sturgis shirt approached the table looking like he hadn't slept for weeks with a look on his face like "why in the world would you guys choose to eat here?" asked to take our order. After quickly passing on the $55 fish and chips, yes $55 fish and chips, our family decided on a hamburger, chicken sandwich, and chicken fingers for the kid. Hamburger was fine, the chicken sandwich was equivalent to a Tyson chicken patty, and the chicken fingers were lacking chicken in them. Prior to wrapping up our meal at this fine establishment, we watched the old man mentioned earlier fire up a cigarette at the bar, as he gazed out at the lake, proud of what the H&H has become over the years. The innovation used around this place was quite inspiring, especially the 1970's kids metal high chair with one leg being used to hold down the ice cream bucket dog water bowl to avoid it from being tipped over as he meandered through the dining room. Honestly if you keep your expectations incredibly low, and take in the beauty and sights this place has to offer, it won't be a wasted trip, but rather an experience you'll never forget. Just know there will be times where you need to look the other way, as there isn't a chance in hell this restaurant would pass a food and health inspection. Upgraded to 2 stars for our most memorable lunch we've ever had.

We got an appetizer of wings, 3 of the 4 wings were hot but one of them was still cold inside but still very good. Finally got my burger and man was it good, juicy, flavorful. After we ate our server told us to make sure we call ahead next time when we have a big group of 7 people coming so they can be more prepared. This place just made me feel like home. The only mistake I made was coming here on the first day of our visit because now I miss my dog.
