"We adopted a kitten from Jen Huang at her home and cattery in Diamond Bar (iAngels). This was our third ragdoll adoption. The cattery is located in an upscale gated community, but the house itself was not clean -- there was diarrhea in the litter box and even on the human toilet we had to use before leaving, plus dirty floors. Jen brought us to her office where several cats of different ages were kept. She showed us the female we had seen on Instagram, but she looked very small for her age and appeared unwell. We ended up choosing a baby boy who instantly stole our hearts. Jen was friendly and said he already loved me. We asked to see the parents -- there were at least seven males in an outdoor enclosure, and the females and kittens were kept separately inside. We signed the contract and paid $3,000, which included $250 for TICA registration. Within 72 hours, we took our kitten to the vet. He had red, watery eyes, diarrhea, sneezing, and a patch of dry, flaky skin. Based on what we'd read online, we asked the vet to run full tests. Unfortunately, he tested positive for Chlamydia, Calicivirus, Feline Coronavirus, Mycoplasma, Microsporum, and Giardia. He's now on three medications and responding well, so we're hopeful he'll recover. He had never seen a vet before, but thankfully, he doesn't have fleas or ear mites and nothing immediately life-threatening. Still, between tests, retests, and treatment, we're expecting to spend around $3,000 more. Some people have reported their kittens from this breeder dying within the first year, often from FIP or other complications. We contacted Jen, but she denied everything, claiming he'd been vaccinated two weeks before and sent an image of a medication she said was used. She offered a full refund if we returned the kitten, but we made it clear multiple times that we would never give him back -- we love him too much. Shockingly, she used a video I sent her to advertise our kitten as still available for adoption on her Instagram. It's clearly our home in the video, yet she's pretending he's still with her. I am removing my previous critical review; a lot has happened since. I adopted a kitten from Joy well over a year ago, and it tragically passed away due to FIP just a few months later. FIP is a really nasty disease with no cure and very difficult to even diagnose. It is somewhat rare, but ragdolls are more susceptible to it due to slower maturation and genetic diversity. Joy offered to provide me with a replacement kitten, and after not so easy deliberation, I accepted and paid the difference in color upgrade as the previous pattern was no longer available. I took the new kitten to the vet, and she was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (a cold) and tested positive for tritrichomoniasis which is a parasite which can cause diarrhea. The vet was somewhat unconcerned with these, and said these are pretty minor and fairly common from pedigree catteries. Joy's communication was very prompt, although it's clear English is her second language. There were a few miscommunications, but they were eventually resolved. She shows on her website that she has eight adult breeding cats, so she has regular litters all throughout the year. She also offered us some free scheduled vaccines for our kitten - we just had to bring the kitten back at the scheduled times. I did want to touch on some of the realities of adopting a kitten, especially a pedigree kitten. Be prepared that pedigree cats are often more susceptible to diseases, and the care can be quite expensive. Even many small things add up such as sanitary shaves, regular brushing, and bathing. Additionally, my vet advised me to invest in expensive supplements such as Fortiflora and lysine, as well as opt for premium cat food brands such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science, or Tiki, to give my pet the best chance to thrive. I would also suggest setting up a vet visit well in advance of your adoption - ideally within 24 hours of pickup. Always opt for a full blood and fecal panel, as well as checks on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and PKD if possible. To the people who claimed that anyone who had a bad experience with this breeder "is simply not true", I find it disrespectful to diminish and invalidate their traumatic experiences. You have not personally gone through the heart-wrenching loss of a baby you deeply cared for. read more

These parents claim the cats have URI, FIP, Calicivirus, Chlamydia, deformities, deafness, etc. One indicated her cat had only one ovary and one kidney. I also bought a kitten from her and she was very persistent in me buying probiotics for "health" and "immune system". She never let me see her administrating the vaccines and the medical records do not indicate my cat ever saw a veterinarian during the first 8 weeks of his life. He has been sick for a year, my vet bills are in the thousands, and my mental health has deteriorated due to the constant fear of losing my cat. She has been brought to court several times but she changes the name of the business, deletes the bad reviews, writes more good ones, and continues scamming people AND abusing and neglecting the cats. Buyer beware! Terrible experience with this breeder. We purchased 2 cats from them in July. She provided us incorrect immunization records for both cats, one turned out to be a male instead of female, the other was over 9 months old when Jen told us he was only 3.5 months old. The smaller kitten has been sick since they day we got him and unfortunately passed away 2 months after from panleukopenia, which he clearly got from the breeder because the only 2 pets we have came from the same cattery. When we came to look at the cats 2 of them were covered in diarrhea and Jen laughed it off saying her assistant forgot to wash them. I got a bad feeling then but the kids were way to excited for their cats. We should have walked away then instead of heaving this heartache and loss. read more

I bought a kitten from FairyTale Ragdoll by i-Angel, and my experience was devastating. Two days after bringing the kitten home it became extremely lethargic and stopped eating, so I rushed it to my vet who diagnosed a severe infection and provided emergency care. Despite every effort, the kitten died on the second day and my vet provided a written report and bills which I have saved. I immediately contacted the breeder and asked for help or at least an explanation, but their responses were minimal and, at times, dismissive. I asked for a refund or to cover vet costs and was told they couldn't help -- then they stopped responding to messages altogether. The lack of accountability and empathy following such a traumatic event was shocking and unacceptable. I'm sharing this so other buyers insist on seeing full, recent vet records and a written health guarantee before purchase. Update on Benji + new kitten Casper! Benji is now nearly 1 years old and he is still the sweetest fluff ball ever. He has never had any health issues and when we took him to the vet, we were told that he is in perfect condition. He loves to cuddle with my husband and I in the mornings, and always runs to greet us at the door when we come home. In Dec of 2022, we welcomed a new kitten; Casper from Jen's cattery again as we wanted to get a buddy for Benji. Casper is full of energy, love and affection and loves to eat! Hello Future Ragdoll Parent(s), Please read this before deciding to put down the deposit with iAngel. I did not want to write this review because I declined from adopting the kitty from them (I did put down $350 deposit). I am not writing this to get my deposit back. I am writing this to educate the the buyers so they can decide themselves. This review is about the business not about the people who operate this. The people seems nice. This review is for the business state in 2022. I hope the breeder use this to take better care of their kittens. I hope the ALL kittens are healthy before they leave the breeder in the future. So, as a buyer do communicate with the breeder to see if they are your right fit. Everyone's experience is different. Here is my experience: I decided to put down a deposit with iAngel in June 2021 because they have available kittens for our budget $1500 (initial). The breeder clearly knows that I want a blue bicolor male kitten for max $1,500. We discussed the pricing before I agreed to put down the deposit. After the deposit was placed, there were no kitties for $1,500. The breeder always advertise available kitties about every other month but they are all in the $2,000-$3,000 range. I did not like that they kept advertising kittens when they know my preference and price. After about a year being on the "waitlist" and kept getting messages about available kitties, I got upset at the breeder and I wanted my deposit back. I could not get the deposit back because it's "non-refundable". Note: The breeder say kitties for $1,500 are the ones with imperfections so there are rarely available. I was never told this when I asked about the pricing before I put down the deposit. Since I could not get my deposit back, I decided to keep waiting. Few months later, the breeder contacted me saying there is one available. However, this available one is $2,000 and it was "discounted" from $2,500. We FaceTime and I liked the available kitty. I made it clear that I want this kitty checked by a vet on the same day. Breeder was understanding about it. I set up picked up date and went to get it. On the day of, the breeder say the kitty has a runny nose from a cold. I thought to myself since it is a cold, the kitty should be okay. I took the kitty to the vet the same day. In the car ride, the kitty started sneezing and kept sneezing here and there, on the way to the vet. The alarming part is that each sneezes contain mucus with blood. I texted the breeder to let her know that. At the vet, we found out that the kitty is older than the breeder said (when we FaceTime), and it had elevated temperature. I told the vet about the mucus with blood. He said it could either be a bacterial or a viral infection. The test for it is over $300 and the result takes about a week. We didn't want to risk the kitty having a viral infection and we can't return it back so we decided to take the kitty back after the vet. On my ride back from vet to the breeder, I did research about bloody mucus and sneezing. There were post about possible FIP. Since FIP is viral and permanent and we are unsure if the running nose is just a cold, we made our final decision to return the kitty. It wasn't worth losing $2,350 total. At the breeder, we explained the situation and told the breeder to take the kitty to the vet. She said she'll do it when the vet open. She offered me other kitties but I decided to decline. When I was playing with the kitties that she showed, another one had a raspy breathing. I also brought that to her attention. It seems to me that probably she has too many kitties to notice each health. Before I left, I told her that for me to adopt from her I want to see the history of vet visit for the chosen kitty. She said the kitties don't see a vet until they are sick. To me, the kitties never seen a vet in their life. For the success and unsuccessful reviews on here, it looks like it is a luck base... if you are lucky you get a healthy kitty, if not your kitty may carry some health problem. After this interaction, I made sure to did all research I can for my next breeder. I read articles/posts on Floppycat & Reddit to find my next breeder. From this experience, I learn that: - kitty is supposed to be 12-16 weeks old for adoption. Any younger would have social problems. - always check with vet on pick up date - reputable breeder have their kittens fixed before sending them off - TICA registration supposed to come with the kitty without extra fees - do your research check yelp, Reddit, Facebook group!
