They have been an absolute lifesaver for me--not only helping with two puppy litters, but also consistently taking incredible care of all three of my Goldendoodles through their grooming services. The owner and the store clerk, Nick, are both extremely knowledgeable and genuinely care about what they do. Every time I walk in, I feel supported, informed, and taken care of. Their customer service is truly exceptional. What really sets them apart is their mobile grooming service--anytime I've been in a bind, they've come through for me without hesitation. I will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I took my maltipoo last week. I took her here maybe once before years ago. This is not my normal groomer. My dog just went to the vet for a physical exam just hours before and there were no issues. She is an indoor dog & does not socialize with any other dogs. She has never had an open wound, nor any incident with any other groomer in her life (5 years). My dog came home with cuts on her legs and face and I just found another on her ear this morning (it was masked by hair). I contacted the company and the groomer said the scab on her legs must have got caught on the clippers. She also said she doesn't like being cut on her face. I do not believe either of these statements. She has never had issue at any other groomer. My main complaint is that none of these were mentioned to me when I picked her up. It was only said after I called and told them what I found. The owner did contact me and apologize and offered to refund half the grooming price. I do appreciate that. However, Now that I found another cut on her ear, I'm honestly even more upset. There is no way that she went in there with all these cuts without my knowledge and without a licensed vet noticing them. She didn't because those cuts weren't there prior to her grooming, although the groomer claims they were. I should've have requested a full refund and medical care/products. Although I did receive an apology after contacting them, it doesn't negate this fact this shouldn't have ever happened. Now I have to spend money tend to her wounds medically and don't know what to do since this has never happened before. I'm just very irritated with the whole situation and hope I don't find any more cuts. read more

This morning was our first time getting my fur baby Abbie groomed at The Good Dog. Not happy with previous groomer and saw positive reviews for this place on-line so we decided to give it a try. Setting the appointment was super easy when I arrived they took her in immediately and they texted she was ready in about 1 hour. When Abbie came out her haircut was exactly what I wanted not too short but cleaned up all around. She also smells amazing. Thank you The Good Dog we will return for future visits. read more

They did an awesome job. I've been here maybe 5 or 6 other times previously and this one is by far the best cut he's had. He normally hates haircuts because he had got injured at a public pet store chain, but he was great today. Didn't need any calming treats or drops. 1star reviews, read them, seems others left poor reviews as well! Too much to write but the owner knows how I feel about the cost and care of my pug. Not a good dog experience. Response and advice: Get your full price upfront, I did not ask for my dog to have his teeth brushed nor did I approve , I was quoted $65, charged 30 higher and yes I still tipped that's me. As a rebuttal to owners comment, my sweet boy cried when I would touch his left side of his neck and lift his paw up in pain. I gave him trazadone and aspirin for dogs and heating blanket for pain, limited his movement , he must have had his leg pulled on. I have insurance but had to pay upfront to have him checked. I might be the only person that experienced this, and it's good for all to learn from it. I appreciate the owners response and this review was not in malice only my truth. read more

Beware!!!! Avoid this place at all cost! It has taken me a while to really think about what I was going to write given that I never write reviews on places, but this really has me shaken up. I took my dog in to what would have been her 1st birthday grooming, to only be shocked at how I found her. They waited to closing time to get me In to pick her up and not once called me to communicate anything during her visit. Almost 3.5 hrs later I still had not received a call of completion. Upon pick up, I could tell she was in distress when I saw her she was down to almost bare skin from how I had taken her In and she's an AussieDoodle Mix so she has a lot of hair. She had clumps of hair hanging from her, unevenly trimmed everywhere and irritated skin and seemed terrified. They said she was badly matted and had a hard time grooming her but not once did they communicate that while they were grooming her, they took it upon themselves to trim her down very short, including her face which I had asked for a teddy bear face. The guy who I believe is the owner tried to charge me a prorated amount for that day and I was in shock. How do you figure I should pay anything after what they did to my dog. The groomer, who was very apologetic offered to pay for her grooming. They asked me if I could take her back In the next morning so they could complete the grooming. I took her in the next morning and the guy mentioned that they had a more experienced groomer and she would be completing the grooming. Needless to say they ruined her first birthday for all of us but mainly her and now almost a week later she is still exhibiting signs of distress and trauma. At this point it's unknown what type of treatment she truly received while in their care. She is not the same dog I took In and I regret immensely bringing her here. This place deserves zero stars in professionalism and communication and I hope this will help anyone who thinks of taking their precious fur babies here. read more

I had to put my dog down because according to the vet, whatever my dog went through and the stress that she was caused, made her have a diabetic spike, so intense but she ended up getting ketones in her liver. My dog was always very pampered by me. She was my princess, and she was not under any stress at home. All I received. Was an email with lack of accountability for what they did to my dog. So disappointed with my recent visit with The Good Dog . I took both my dogs in for a grooming service and they both came out pretty much shaved down. I feel like every time I take my dogs there they always tackling there prices on. Each dog is 10lbs , morkie (Maltese/ yorkie) and a Bichon . Cost per dog $85 + $15x 2 per dog for teeth to brush teeth ! + $15 for "matting" Total + tip $240!!!!! For basically a wash and shave. Nick at the front desk could clearly see I was not happy. I'm always able to find what I need at Miguels store. He has a good selection of frozen. All the good natural brands . Nothing you will ever find in a grocery store or at Petco. I took some videos so you can see the brands that they carry for frozen, freeze dried, and kibble. They must've redone the store since my last visit so that's why I took photos and videos. I really like what they've done with the place and the service is always fabulous. He even brought in branded hats and T-shirts. You've got a family owned store that sticks to their brand . Even their bags are yellow!! If you haven't been to The Good Dog, I would say to go because they also offer grooming and same-day appointments! Simply put, if they can buy elsewhere, they should. That way they will be subject to fair practices that do not harm the consumer. --------------- This is not a review for their groomers, it is for their merchandise. If you're going to buy anything from them, make sure you really want it because they don't give refunds! I bought a leash and collar. When I received it, I could see the collar was going to be too big. I didn't open either of the items. When I requested a refund, I got no reply. So I finally sent a strongly worded reply to my own email 12 days later. I guess my stern wording woke up the sleeping vendor. First, they told me "We do our best to respond to all inquiries in a timely and respectful manner." 12 days with no response? That is neither "timely" nor "respectful ". Second, they told me they don't give refunds on collars or leashes. And that the policy is an "industry standard". Having checked 5 big and small websites (Foggy Dog, Chewy, PetSmart, LuckyLoveDog, Lucy &Co), I found that it is NOT an industry standard as all of these company's will accept 30 day refunds. Nor do they charge a 20% restocking fee like these guys do!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE ANY ITEMS HERE. Their policies are unfair and not designed to keep customers happy. read more
