Social workers are pretty accommodating. The food - well, it's hospital food, but that being send it isn't too horrible and certain days even pretty good. If you have a loved one who needs to stay in a rehab facility for some time, I would recommend west Caldwell.

To start my uncle was here during the heatwave and it was unbearably hot. A friend brought a fan for him and was told that it needed to stay in the lobby so the maintenance person could "inspect" it to make sure it wasn't a fire hazard. After asking about it several times it never was brought up to his room. We asked for it and took it when we left. My uncle was able with assistance to go to the bathroom. After a few days staff put him in a diaper without asking. They put him in diapers so they wouldn't have to deal with helping him get up. So they could take their time. So it would be easier for them. They had zero compassion and care for my uncle. We know for sure he was not brought every meal. When my aunt had talked to hospice and my uncle's social worker to arrange for him to leave they said it was fine. Katelyn (or however you spell it) your worker/social worker was so very unprofessional with my aunt on the phone. She said my aunt couldn't take my uncle unless she gave 24 hour notice and said she had to leave soon and said we would have to wait until tomorrow. She said she needed to leave and for my aunt to think about her. She said she had an appointment and started yelling at my aunt. This person should not be in charge of any patient, staff or human being. They proceeded to tell my aunt why it wasn't acceptable to remove my uncle (they want their money of course) and then handed her a sheet to sign. Instead of being kind to my aunt and uncle at the most tragic days of their lives they were met with disrespect and zero compassion and kindness. That's not even the best part. They had a "fire drill" when we were there and never even moved patients into the hallway or a safe space. Zero organization, zero care or follow through. I severely am worried if there was an actual fire. The other times I witnessed OT & PT staff in the halls refusing to help guests or advocate for them basically laughing it off as "this is how it is here" - while the floor staff refused to help guests in soiled diapers. Staff also yelled at other staff in front of my uncle's door constantly. The only person I saw with care was Brandon who knew my uncle liked tea and brought him a few every day. God bless you. It's not a safe place. It's not a caring place. Remove your family before it's too late.

My father-in-law spent his final days at Arbor Glen. All staff was very nice and kind. The facility…read moreis clean, and the room is roomy. The only problem is parking. The lot is quite small, but luckily we can park on the streets right outside the center.

My mother was briefly in this facility recently. It was a shocking experience. The facility was run…read moredown and dirty. While everyone we met was very nice, several repeatedly verbalized how understaffed they are and how poor the facilities are. The air conditioning did not work, nor did the television remote. The room was clearly meant for one person and my mother was a second patient stuck in a small space. On more than one occasion her oxygen machine began to squirt water all over her face and one time when I reported it I was told "oh that is okay." I was shocked that anyone could walk in and out, even at 9 oclock at night. I appreciated the kindness of several staff members, but having a parent there was scary and we felt helpless. I am not sure if I would be writing a review if the above was the worst of it. Unfortunately, on the second day my sibling showed up at 1pm and found that my mother was still asleep. At that point we learned that she had not woken up at all that day for longer than a few minutes. When asked whether she had spoken at all we were told yes, she had repeatedly said "Help me." She was left in bed and ignored, and nobody told us. My sister tried to wake her up and eventually the daughter of another patient came to help her, but she would not wake. When she said she needed to return to the hospital she experienced resistance, and later my sister overheard staff talking about how stupid it was for her to leave. Needless to say, when she arrived at the hospital she ended up in ICU and we are still working to understand what happened. We are not able to comment on the quality of the rehab work since it never occurred. I do not question whether there are good people working at this facility (we saw it), but it is very clear that they lack the staff, training, and resources for the job. I will forever live with the guilt of allowing my mother to stay there, though.

She said she rarely had to call for assistance for anything because they were constantly in her room making sure she was ok and had everything she needed. The facility is also being extra cautious right now due to COVID-19. With all of the safety measures in place we felt confident that she would be safe. She told me several times how great the physical therapists were. She went in there not being able to walk at all after a fracture and within a few days she was moving around and walking on her own. I asked for some juice, which seemed to be a big deal and impossible to accommodate. I was told several times that they would put an order in with the kitchen. An hour later-still nothing. The women across the hall yelled "help" for over an hour. I saw nurses and aides continuously pass her room, yet not enter. About 3-4 aides, within earshot were talking And laughing -not a care in the world. After three days and ZERO physical therapy, bad food, and neglect, we took her home and are trying to manage on our own. 2 stars instead of 1 because there was one nurse's aide who really took time to thoroughly clean her up.

But it is with a broken heart that I have to give this review because of the owners & their shameless behavior in the pursuit of their own self-preservation. If an apple is rotten at its core, it's only a matter of time before the rest begins to rot out as well. My child had been attending their full time ABA program here for three years until it abruptly came to an end after receiving a letter during dinner one night that was likely a product of ChatGPT from the owners Jennifer Moore & Naomi Sutton. In short, we learned that all services for my child (and several others) were being canceled and the last day would be in the next 29 days. It also included a list of other centers that were clearly just some results of a quick Google search. The letter directed us to direct all of our questions or concerns to their "patient care coordinator" who was wholly un-equipped and uninformed to respond to our concerns. She provided nothing more than her marching orders & delivered a scripted response. It was clear that the abrupt cut to so many of their kids was a result of larger business & insurance issues that had been in proliferation for MONTHS & they must have thought the parents were either too stupid or blind to notice. Further, several requests were made to speak with the owners and each and every one was INTENTIONALLY IGNORED AND DISMISSED. We are parents who place our blind trust and care in the hands of others and a request for something as simple as communication should be a given. So, to be repeatedly denied the opportunity to be heard is an alarming red flag for this establishment & there is no reason to believe we will be the last to have the same experience. So Madams, please consider this your open letter - families like mine are fragile & vulnerable & this life is riddled with people who repeatedly let your children down. And even then, few are as low as to discard your child like Sunday night's trash so you can "just get out of it as quick as we can." So count yourself amongst this despicable population because we will NEVER recover from this, but we are also here to remind you that we will never absolve you of your cowardice and shame.
