    Fajita Sub Factory trailer
    Bruce K.

Great lunch and friendly service from this small food truck that's inside an Airstream trailer parked in a gas station up the hill from Silver Spring metro station. I opted for the fajita bowl which is served in a small styrofoam container. A base of rice and topped with beans and chicken. On the other half of the bowl, avocado salad, shredded cheese and queso. Oh, and two tortillas. Red chile and a hot green avocado chile and some shredded onions added afterwards from their "salsa bar." It was a very tasty and quite filling lunch. As for the gal taking orders and payment, she was outwardly friendly and smiling. Very pleasant to deal with. There is a bench behind the trailer but I think the idea here is that you take it to go.

I might have had unreasonably high hopes for this little food truck... You operate out of a vintage Airstream: Sold! You are serving a new, at least to me, type of latin food called a corn "sub": Sold! You're located at a gas station: As some of my favorite MD institutions: Sold! You have 18 reviews with 4.5 stars: Sold! The problem was... I was a little nonplussed about the food I ordered: I decided to get the Corn sub: Carne Machada which is described as "Shredded beef with aji dulce". I've never had aji dulce, but I assumed that it was a sweet sauce as "Dulce" is Spanish for sweet or candy. They asked me if I wanted cheese on on the corn sub, and I asked for whatever cheese would normally come on it. They were like "whatever you'd like", and then I said, what type of cheese would you put on it? And they were like "queso fresco". So I was like... Ok, that's perfect. Well, the whole thing turned out to be way way salty and a bit greasy too. The "sub" ( I keep putting quotes around that as I don't think anyone would describe it as a sub) is more of a large circular sandwich. The outer corn griddled pancake thing they use instead of bread is decent, albeit does not have much flavor (except for a good deal of saltiness). The beef was cooked well, but it just seemed to be lacking depth. And the aji dulce... I don't know where that was. Still trying to figure it out, but for now it's a Cold Case. I'll most likely go back and try something else from the truck, maybe I just chose the wrong thing. I did also get some of their "homemade yogurt" which was really good and has fresh pineapple on top. It hadn't completely set up, but the flavor was good, and I've been on a yogurt kick so I was happy to see it. Also, I'm really curious and interested why half of the truck says that it's selling fresh Italian pastas. I would have asked, but I was in a bit of a hurry and there was a long line forming behind me.

Chicken salad with Queso de mano- arepa

OMG!!! So I'm going to start off by saying I experienced my first arepa this past summer and I have been obsessed ever since. I was SO happy when I saw this food truck parked outside of Nordstrom Rack in Farragut Sq. I found out that it was actually their first day with their second truck! The second truck will be located throughout DC, which means I don't have to go to Silver Spring to get a good Arepa. I got the chicken salad con queso de mano arepa. It was absolutely delicious and I felt like I was in heaven the entire time I ate it. The service was fantastic, which lined up with the quality of the food. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, check out Fajita Sub Factory and try a Arepa. There are so many options, sure to meet everyones taste buds! Enjoy

    Steak Tacos

Amazing tacos! Closest thing to what I had in Mexico. And 3 for 6 bucks ... can't beat it. I've also had the specialty drink which is beet, carrot and orange fresh juice. You would think there are many places to get fresh juice in downtown silver soring, but not the case. This place fills the gap. Love the little ladies behind the counter too. My new go too!

Fajita Bowl with half Chicken Chorizo and half Ceviche ($7.95)
    Lynda N.

I ordered the Fajita Bowl with 1/2 Chorizo (chicken sausage) and Ceviche (seafood) and got to try some of my friend's steak. Can I just start off by telling you how great their service is!? Their service is both friendly and attentive even when they are crazy busy. Portions were great for the price and I really liked that about them. The food is made to order so you'll wait a bit longer. Just know you're waiting on freshly prepared meats. Service was 5/5. My food was 3.5/5. Why? What I didn't like was that the steak was a bit dry and the seasoning in the blended guac they have at the counter tasted weird. Chorizo and ceviche was alright. I just like pork sausage more. I'm gonna try regular chicken next time. Pros: Ability to pick 1/2 of 2 types of meats Great portions for price Freshly made Friendly service No card minimum Cons: A bit of a wait if they're busy (but honestly it's not that bad) Didn't enjoy their optional sauces at the counter (I'll just stick with the guac that comes with my Fajita bowl) Overall, I'll be adding this to my lunch rotation because I did enjoy their food. It smelled fabulous and made my coworkers jealous ~haha.

Was in DC for business and got gas on the way home and spotted this food truck. In no way did I expect these little sandwiches to be this amazingly delicious! Was my first time having an arepa and I loved it. Trying to find a local place that makes these now!

Hands down best arepas I've ever had. So much flavor and are absolutely stuffed with meat. The owner makes every fresh even the juice. I bought the pineapple juice it's nothing like store bought, it fresh pressed pineapple juice. I am definitely going back, however the owner did mention her hours are not consistent yet but I will look out for when it is open.

We just loved it! The lady was very kind, and they made our food ready within 4-5 minutes.

I hate when I take the time to carefully write a detailed review that addresses each aspect of the experience only to find that it didn't save. So now, you'll have to just look at the 5 stars and take it at face value. I'm so annoyed. But, I will say that the food is fresh, authentic, flavorful and homemade; portions are generous; staff is friendly and helpful; wait time corresponds to "made to order" nature of the food; credit cards are accepted. I didn't care for the super sweet mojito lemonade that tasted like sugar cane water. I've been there twice in one week. Each time we fed three hungry carnivores and still had left overs. Cost was $35 both times, but note that we ordered 5 "entrees," a side of sublime guacamole and a couple of drinks. We'll be back.

3 tacos. One chicken sausage two steak.

Love these Arepas and the staff. From owner to every worker they are friendly and glad you came. They call me by name and it makes me feel that this is MY place. You won't be broke or disappointed when you stop in. Yes they are in a gas station parking lot.

Cant beat these prices in Silver Spring
    Tyrone J.

Who knew the best food in Silver Spring comes from a food truck.Grabbed a fajita sub with strak and chicken on Friday.Let me tell you it was outstanding. .Had the super sad face when i stopped past today and found out it was closed. If D.C. didn't pass its new law i would move to Silver Spring for this truck lmao. Seriously check this spot out. And the sub was only 6 bucks

He took the time to explain the menu and offered excellent recommendations, which made it easy to try a variety of dishes. The ambiance was warm and comfortable, with music playing softly in the background, making it easy to relax and enjoy a conversation without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. We ordered several appetizers and tapas, followed by dessert, and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The quality, presentation, and flavors exceeded our expectations. Overall, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Very easy 5 star review to write - I'll definitely be back for their weekend brunch special!…read more I met with a group of friends for their $35 bottoms brunch on a Saturday; this includes a wide array of bottomless tapas and greatly discounted drinks ($1 mimosas, $5 margaritas, $5 sangrias). The food was really really delicious. While the first wave of tapas took a little longer than expected to come out of the kitchen, the rest of our dining experience was smooth as butter. Every dish I tried was wonderful - the steak breakfast bowl, chicken tostada, and beef sliders really stood out in a special way. Each dish was seasoned well and came out hot; some of the tapas came out in fairly large portions (like the beef bowl and papas) and should be shared between a few people. I appreciate how expansive the menu is; we ate like kings and queens and barely got through tasting half the menu. The drinks came out quickly and were well made. They offered all sorts of flavored mimosas and margs (at a small upcharge); I stuck with classic OJ mimosas but friends at the table loved trying the variety of options. Overall, service was great. Our waitress was attentive, quick, and kept great track of all the tapas we ordered. As I mentioned, the flow and timing of receiving our first round of food could've been improved - but it didn't ruin the experience. Looking forward to my next brunch here!

Tbf the fries can't compete w McD or Chikfila Waffle fries but they were good. The service counter is modernized and they are efficient and friendly. The layout if the restaurant is still basic like the limited menu they used to have. No frills no gimmicks just good food. Still the same vibe The chicken was still very good. Other places are fairly close but Apollo Rico is just a touch better. The charred seasoning is evident. What tipped the scales for me in comparison to other places I've been is the green sauce. It liked fresh. It wasnt like other places where that has the consistency of ketchup it looked bright green and freshly made vs other places where it seems as if it was poured out a container.

Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we expected, and the food was extremely disappointing. Then I found out the owner is Bolivian not even Argentinian. The chimichurri was red and had a very different taste than what we expected. The green hot sauce was basically like eating raw jalapeño--extremely overpowering. The mashed potatoes were watery and very salty, and the broccoli was literally sitting in so much water that almost half of the bowl was full of it. The rice tasted like microwave rice, and the French fries were just ordinary fries. The biggest disappointment was the meat. It was extremely fatty, chewy, and had almost no flavor. The chicken was overcooked and tasted like leftovers that had been reheated. For an Argentinian restaurant, the quality and preparation of the meat should be one of the highlights, but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. Honestly, we could barely eat our food and ended up leaving most of it. What made the experience even worse was that, despite barely being able to eat the food, we were still charged half of the meal. The total bill was over $85, and that included $5 for a small cup of what tasted like microwave rice. Just in case the food looks half-empty in the pictures, we did put some of the food onto our plates to try it. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat it, so that's why some of the containers look partially empty. As someone who was genuinely looking forward to trying Argentinian food, this experience was incredibly disappointing. In my opinion, this restaurant does not represent the quality or flavors that people expect from Argentinian cuisine. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I would not return.
