Very nice, intimate atmosphere with wonderful staff! This is a family owned and operated restaurant that offers fresh and delicious food. The hummus is amazing, and every time I order their chicken kabob lunch meal I have to wonder how do they get the rice so fluffy and perfect? The chicken is very well seasoned and delicious, and their sharazi salad is amazing! I'm not a cucumber lover but the way they make this salad is so summery and delightful. I was very surprised to see this restaurant tucked away off of Cobb Pkwy. We were greeted very pleasantly by the owner of the restaurant. The lunch specials were all reasonably priced. I got the lamb kabobs which were a delight. However, I wasn't asked what temperature I wanted my lamb so the lamb was slightly over cooked for my liking. This may be in part to the busy lunch hours. If you're ever OTP and in the mood for some Persian food, give the Falafel Cafe a shot. read more

The food was decent, nothing special. Thankfully the prices are reasonable to it matches the decent food. The tea tasted funny - had a weird after taste. The hookah flavor was weak - wouldn't recommend it. Can't say I would absolutely recommend this place but if you're looking for a halal Persian market, you can go to the one next door and maybe grab a quick bite at Falafel Cafe next door if you really wanted. They have the best chicken and lamb kabab in town. The kabab is very soft and juicy. I don't know how they make so soft and juicy but no doubt they have the best kabab in Marietta area. The kabab is served with rice and salad and again they are very delicious too. I am fan of this place and will recommend to anyone who likes kababs. I live in Chicago, was in town visiting relatives and needed a quick, healthy lunch while heading up 75N. Google came up with Felafel cafe and the reviews here definitely helped me to find this restaurant in the back of a shopping plaza off Cobb Pkwy. In a nutshell, excellent food option with friendly service. Felafel platter was quite tasty. I usually stay away from carbs but the hot, homemade pita bread is DELICIOUS -- I COULDN'T STOP! The tabbouleh salad is a bit salty but had the right tangy, lemon seasoning. Hummus is smooth as butter and scumptious. Great seasoning and crunch of the felafel -- went next door to the Persian market to buy the mix! I also had the cream of barley soup which I loved. When I'm back in the Atlanta area, will definitely visit Felafel Cafe again. read more

My kids took me here for Father's Day cause I wanted a Gyro. My son Googled it, and it had a 4 star rating, which I questioned as we veered to the left driveway and followed the signs around the back. I was thinking Greek Deliverence and was waiting to hear a Banjo / Bouzouki duel. Anyway, don't let the first look fool you, the quaint interior reminded my of family owned restaurants I loved in Japan, Korea, and Thailand. I have had Hummus before and didn't particularly like it, but the Hunnus in this place is "off the chain". They must have put drugs in it cause I couldn't stop eating it, and needed a refill of their most excellent Pita bread. The Gyro was huge, sloppy, and tasty, just like I anticipated. I tried one of my Daughter's Falafel because I had never had one, and WOW, it was really good, don't even know what was in it, but I wanted more. Salad was fresh and fantastic too! Staff was friendly, service was cool, manager checked on us. LOL, the waitress brought us our soft drinks and water on a gold platter. How awesome is that! Excellent food and service! We celebrated my brother in-law's birthday there last night on my nephew's recommendation - it was my 1st visit. I had the beef tenderloin kabobs over steamed rice (basmati saffron rice that is the most delicious I've ever tasted & the kabobs were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection) with the Sharizi salad. I also tasted the Tabuleh salad - both salads were delicious! To finish, we had baklava & ice cream with sour cherry sauce on top; again all were so tasty! The service was flawless and our waiter was a delight and knew his cuisine. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and the place was very clean. There is also an outdoor patio dining area I'd love to try next time. I can't wait to dine there again so I can try their other offerings. I highly recommend that anyone reading the review give it a try - you won't be disappointed! read more

I've been coming to Falafel Cafe for about 10 years now, usually with my friend Meredith for our middle eastern fix. I will tell you that the food never disappoints us. It is consistent, whether you opt for a kabob, falafel or our favorite the gyro platter. The menu is primarily limited to these items, but they do an excellent job. The rice, the meat...always delicious. The spices always on point For this reason alone, I continue to patronize the restaurant which is behind a strip mall on Cobb parkway. If you are unfamiliar with the area, give your self an extra minute or so, because you will have to search for this restaurant--- it is really on the backside of a strip mall. Now the issues, over the years I've watched the restaurant shrink in size and the customer service decline, but Meredith and I remain dedicated to the owner and to the delicious food. The restaurant is now cozy and small, but the owners don't seem to take any pride in making the place seem appealing. Its obvious that this is a family owned business, but the service level is very weak. You might find yourself standing and waiting for a table, because no one may serve you or if you place your order, your drinks may come out with your entree. It feels like the cooks are also doing the serving, this is a problem. If the owner would address the service and ambiance issues, I'd give Falafel Cafe four or five stars, because the food is really good. read more

My family and I went to the Falafel cafe for dinner on Sunday June 15, 2014. All I can say is this place is way over priced...... I paid $18.95 for my entree that wasn't enough for one person. It was about 5 small pieces of meat, the size of a quarter and a plate full of rice. I was so disappointed, we were visiting from out of town and wanted to try something different from where we always go, this place was a mistake. The flavor of the food was ok, but the amount and price was terrible. Also, the service wasn't good, the young girls their didn't act like they knew what they were doing, or wanted to be there. All I can say is we won't be back, and I would advise anyone else in search for a quality Persian food to look elsewhere.... This isn't the place... If you think this is good persian than you must not of had persian many other places. I found everything from the salads to the pita very flavorless. But most disappointment was what they charge for what they give , there must of been about 4 ounces of chicken with like 3 cups of rice , and the child plate for 9 bucks had half that amount. If you look at these reviews, I think they were written by really hungry young people who don't care about food being good, just cheap and filling. The people and the decor at Falafel Cafe are ok, but the food is just below average. I ordered a gyro wrap and a chicken kabab. The gyro wrap had a little bit of meat that was overcooked. and then filled with lettuce and then a heaping serving of that white sauce that made it very unappetizing. The hummus is average, it's hard to mess up hummus. The kebab was a very small dry cut of meat dropped on top of some rice. Sure the food was filling, but not tasty. Also the pita bread tasted like it had been over grilled and had a slightly stale taste to it. It seems they really need to work on their recipes. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. I am a person who loves middle eastern food and I basically consider hummus a staple in my diet. I've only been there once and when I did I ordered probably the most basic thing on the menu, chicken kabob with rice and hummus. I've never tasted a more disgusting chicken kabob in my life. Whatever they used to season it or marinade it made it taste like eggs, it was so gross! I couldn't even eat all of it. The rice was also not not very good, but I'd have to say it was the best thing I ate at there (probably because it was so tasteless). The next thing I ordered was the hummus. I've been to many middle eastern restaurants that make their own hummus and it is absolutely delicious and fresh. Their hummus was not very good at all. I don't know what it was about it but it was creamier than most and I don't know I guess I just wasn't a fan. I can honestly say I would prefer store bought hummus over theirs. The restaurant itself looks like a dump and it kind of made me question even going there. I do not recommend. read more

We have been coming here for well over fifteen years. They have downsized their restaurant space over the years. We have eaten inside, outside, and take out. The patio area needs some major overhauling, and could use some cleaning. The inside also needs a major cleaning and appears messy looking which leads me to believe they may not keep their kitchen area that clean. I felt they were attentive to certain groups whether they were family, or friends...I am not sure but our table of four were pretty much ignored. The food portions have decreased over the years. We order an herb and vegetable appetizer with warm pita pockets. It started off good but over the years has decreased in size and variety of herbs offered. I have gotten sick twice after eating here so stopped going for a good while. Service is really a hit or miss. Sometimes you get an experienced waitress that is friendly, and sometimes they are very unfriendly and not very attentive. It doesn't seem like they really like the restaurant business anymore. We have eaten almost everything listed on their menu. It is OK, nothing spectacular. They have increased prices as they reduced portion sizes. I wouldn't recommend them anymore. read more
