All I can say is this place is amazing & I'm so glad my coworker invited me to order from them a couple of years ago now. I have nothing bad to say about them & my man & I have ordered Togo from here many times now. Food is always hot & fresh even after getting it delivered, too. The owners & staff TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY even when you're just picking up a Togo order, & they even give you a delicious little mango smoothie to take with you! Maybe it's just cause they like me though (; haha, idk. We always get the butter chicken & ask for naan instead of rice because we prefer jasmine rice over basmati, & they are super accommodating about it every time. We have driven by this spot multiple times but never noticed it. It's in the same plaza as floor and decor. We were excited to find that they have a buffet so we could try different dishes. Their buffet is also available during the week day. The food was very good! The service was very attentive. The space had traditional chairs and it was charming. We will definitely return. I visited Taj Mahal Grill for the first time and tried their chicken masala with naan bread . Let me just say , I eat Indian food mainly for the naan- it's didn't disappoint! The rest of my food was very tasty as well . But that naan was flavorful, buttery and fresh . Don't mess up my naan ! To my surprise they were very busy for a weekday . After ordering I realized there isn't really a place to wait without feeling like I'm in the way of other patrons entering . Unless you were dining in . There were three chairs ( I think ) right in the doorway . I had to move my feet each time someone came in. If I stood up , I was still in the way of the staff . That was annoying but otherwise the place seems clean as for as I could see . The staff just looked like they were focused on serving . They were neutral. No smiles or greetings , but they weren't rude . The buffet was out front center around the customers who were dining in. I took a peek over there. The food looked appetizing. No choice but to leave 5 stars here. Parking is plentiful and easy. I've been here several times and get the same treatment when I walk in. Greeted and sat almost immediately. They give waters out and make sure your order gets placed swiftly. The tables have really nice cloth on them and the building itself is a little small and looks like it holds about 8 booths. We had a delicious Sunday brunch experience here. This location came highly recommended by close friends and it did not disappoint. This vibe here is Indian soul food, and that it is. I love the buffet presentation and the the tailor attention to exceptional service of customers. They have a large dining area and space for private events as well. The food is flavorful, hot, delicious, and constantly replenished. The waiters and waitresses are very kind and accommodation. Get the butter chicken! It is truly delicious. I love their samosas, too. They are so savory and obviously prepared with the best ingredients. They are perfect spot for Sunday after church or a Saturday evening with family and friends. I've only come for the Indian buffet lunch, so I can't vouch for any of the usual meals, but everything I've had has been quite decent. The tandoori chicken is nice and tender, as are the other dishes with chicken on the bone. Chicken off the bone though, is a different matter. Let's deep dive into some of these specific dishes: Butter Chicken: Some chicken pieces were dry/tough while others were tender. Chicken pieces are a bit inconsistent, meaning you'll have some as strips and some as little pieces. Not sure what's going on here but it makes me wonder how much fresh chicken they use and how much from other dishes? Also, the sauce is more tomato based than creamy, which reminds me more of a very tomato-y tikka masala rather than butter chicken. Curry chicken: This is on the bone, but the chicken is tender. It's flavorful enough, but nothing to write home about. Tandoori chicken: This was tender and flavorful. Solid dish. Chicken biryani: It was...a bit of a booby trap. My husband got 3 pits (looked like tiny fruit pits but who knows what it was), I got a star anise pod, and the chicken has bones. Eat only if you want to play Risk with your food, meaning pick at it carefully or risk getting your mouth stabbed or teeth jarred. Goat curry: This was actually one of my favorite dishes. The goat is very tender, but you do need to be careful of all the bones. Palak paneer: Our absolutely favorite; I could eat 2 giant dishes of this. The spinach is greener than other places, but full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and has soft, pillowy paneer that I'm unaccustomed to, but very pleased with. It's an absolute gem amongst everything else. Navratma korma: Also known as veggie korma. The sauce is a bit creamy and sweet, as most kormas are. What I don't like is that the vegetables are very obviously frozen. I got a big chunk of cauliflower that had a "wet" texture, but was a bit rubbery at the same time, reminiscent of the limp, flaccid frozen vegetables that we all know. Fish vindaloo: All I got were potatoes! I was bamboozled! Make sure you poke your fish/potatoes so you know what you're scooping--I didn't see any fish when I went. Chicken pakora: Avoid this. It's all the driest chicken breast pieces wrapped in some yummy breading. Pakora/samosa/fries: This is actually okay, but definitely on the greasy side. Samosa is filled with potatoes and vegetables. Kheer: A bit bland to me; literally tasted like rice and milk, nothing else. There were other items in the buffet too, but these were the ones that stood out to me. For the most part, food is ehhhhhh okay, but the service is really nice; plates are consistently cleared, servers are friendly, etc. Also, the place looks clean and there is a steady flow of customers coming in all the time. If you're in the area and really dying for some Indian food, it's fine for most people. I feel like there's enough variety here that you'll find something you'll like. read more

Very disappointed. The first meal I had here was filled with oil and looked to have something that resembled a roach in it. Gave this place a second chance and tried the buffet. Went here yesterday and had daal makhani. I really enjoyed it. It was very creamy and flavorful and was cooked the way I expect the dish to taste. Many other Indian restaurants in Atlanta area do not get this dish right so I was pleased at the quality of food and the portion size. Inconsistency is key at Taj Mahal Grill. When they get it right at Taj, the food is downright delicious and the dine-in staff are a delight. But when they get it wrong, they get it verrry wrong, y'all. If you have any modifications whatsoever (ex. Requesting a specific spice level or swapping out a protein), don't expect them to pay attention. I've gotten take out and/or delivery (called in, ordered through their website online order portal, or via third party app like UberEats) on numerous occasions and despite "checking off" the menu item that explicitly states the modifications, they get it wrong 9/10 times. Most recent example, I ordered a paneer tikka masala. Asked for spicy level and asked to add veggies. I got neither. And if you're paying all of the increased fees for the delivery, it becomes increasingly disappointing when you don't get what you pay for. To add insult to injury, the rice was old, cold and clearly bottom of the barrel. All this to say, if you can manage to get your order the way you envisioned, you'll likely enjoy it. But nowadays, I'm left not willing to gamble after being spurned too many times before. read more

Listen, I am so serious when I say this..... the customer service i received last night while dining with my friend was Hands Down the best customer service I've ever had while dining. And I'll tell you why... not only was the food exceptional, the service staff never let me run out of water, checked in on us without being over bearing, they boxed up our left overs table side, and gave us dessert on the house. They also cleaned our table after removing our plates before serving the dessert. If I were on a date, I would have definitely got a second date just because the experience was so perfect. Has good interior and paintings to reflect the cultural roots, low lighting, dark curtains, well maintained temperature, light music that does not over empower the environment, neatly maintained restrooms.. not bad. Very nice folks. But I wish I can say the same thing about the food. Ordered chicken tenders for the kid. They deep fried the frozen chicken tenders that were already deep fried. Didnt like the odor, taste or the texture. It was pretty bad. Daughter tasted one and didn't touch another. We also ordered Puri and thought what could go wrong with Puri. Oh boy we were so wrong. It was one of the worst puri's I have ever tasted. The puri is as thick as a naan. Made with no care or love. I did not appreciate it at all. It left very uncomfortable and indigestible thick floor in my belly. The lunch didnt digest for the entire day. Wish I had something nice to say about the food I had. I saw most of the crowd is american and they probably do not know how the food supposed to be. Explains the rating. I wouldnt try again. They need to change the chef asap. Delicious food and great service! I love Indian food and this was my first time trying Taj Mahal. I was working nearby and decided to give it a try. The food reminded me of an Indian spot I used to go to a lot in Dekalb but that placed closed (and broke my heart). We ordered Butter Chicken and Korma Chicken with naan. Both were delicious. The naan was hot and buttery, perfect for dipping in the sauces and scooping up bite sized pieces of chicken. The service was also excellent, very friendly, observant, helpful. I have tried many Indian buffets and this one stood out! They have many authentic Indian cuisines such as tandoori chicken, curry, palak paneer, veggie options, and more. They have many vegetarian options as well! On the weekends only, they add a couple other dishes like puri puri which is outstanding. Service here is always friendly and they tend to your refills and anything you may need. The owners are usually there so it's very nice that they care so much for their customers! The quality of the dishes are well beyond expectations and when you go for the lunch buffet , they make the naan and bring it to you fresh. Delivery was perfect and love all the food and one complaint with the food I would see is that it seems the colouring on the food is not natural and looks like there is some artificial colouring added to the food because in the gravy or chicken 65 I don't remember when u use your hand to eat and right after you are done with food I can see dark red colouring on my hand I am not an expert in Indian cooking I wouldn't notice it. But my wife is an expert Indian cook she told about the colouring issue as soon as she saw my hand Other than that all the other food was cooked perfectly and tasted good. read more

Always a good choice! I've been going here for 5+ years. But hadn't been in awhile. I was happy to find they still had their lunch buffet ($14.95). I wanted to try the new Moon Indian spot for buffet but they only do weekend ones, which was odd... anywho, Taj came through and it was delicious! The people there are always very hospitable and have great customer service-- important to me. We were greeted as we walked in, walked to our booth, asked if we wanted the buffet, and shown to the plates. They quickly brought water in nice glasses and asked if we wanted other drinks. The buffet had many options. One side was all vegetarian, and one side all meat options. This is nice to have it separated for those that need that. They had pakoras-- always delicious. My only sad moment was that they didn't have samosas w the buffet-- but I understand, since those are large and probably pricier and more time consuming to make. I dabbled into the spinach paneer, Tika masala, tandoori chicken, a Lima bean type stew, biryani, chicken curry, lentil dishes, pakoras, basmati rice, all the chutneys, raita yogurt sauce, fresh sliced veggies, etc, and their delicious and flavorful light soup... maybe a veggie lentil but was very brothy and great spices. The naan bread they brought out (included w buffet), was very light and airy- delicious! Especially dipping it into the tika masala- my fav ever. I was sad I got full too fast... and that we couldn't take the rest of the bread home lol. They also had things to make a fresh salad, and two types of Indian dessert. I sadly filled up too fast to try lol. I do wish they also had chai tea out as well. Maybe I'll order some next time, along with my samosas . Nice booths, sunny windows to sit by, nice soothing Indian music playing, friendly staff, delicious food, quick and attentive service (they refilled our waters many times and checked on us).
