I visited Taj Mahal Grill for the first time and tried their chicken masala with naan bread . Let me just say , I eat Indian food mainly for the naan- it's didn't disappoint! The rest of my food was very tasty as well . But that naan was flavorful, buttery and fresh . Don't mess up my naan ! To my surprise they were very busy for a weekday . After ordering I realized there isn't really a place to wait without feeling like I'm in the way of other patrons entering . Unless you were dining in . There were three chairs ( I think ) right in the doorway . I had to move my feet each time someone came in. If I stood up , I was still in the way of the staff . That was annoying but otherwise the place seems clean as for as I could see . The staff just looked like they were focused on serving . They were neutral. No smiles or greetings , but they weren't rude . The buffet was out front center around the customers who were dining in. I took a peek over there. The food looked appetizing. Next time , I'll try the dining in experience.

Food was delicious. Everything was super fresh. Even the sprite was delicious. The service was great too. And it's all you can eat! For just 19 bucks this is the best Indian food I've ever had and the best buffet. It definitely feels authentic and it's an authentic experience. It feels like your friend invited you to their family's house to have dinner.

Great butter chicken and some Garlic Naan with the rice that is also super good

Best Indian food I have ever had. Get the butter chicken for sure. The service was also great, came and asked how the food was at least two times. Has fun Indian music playing.

No choice but to leave 5 stars here. Parking is plentiful and easy. I've been here several times and get the same treatment when I walk in. Greeted and sat almost immediately. They give waters out and make sure your order gets placed swiftly. The tables have really nice cloth on them and the building itself is a little small and looks like it holds about 8 booths. They have another room for extra guest I believe though. I always order butter chicken and am never ever ever disappointed.

I came here a few days ago, and the food was absolutely amazing! I was in for a to go order and everyone there was very kind and helpful in working with us since my partner wanted to use a $50 gift card to pay for some of the order. They even gave us 2 mango lassis for free as well as some rice pudding! Beautiful decor in the restaurant as well. I highly recommend! Here are some photos of my takeout lol

We had a delicious Sunday brunch experience here. This location came highly recommended by close friends and it did not disappoint. This vibe here is Indian soul food, and that it is. I love the buffet presentation and the the tailor attention to exceptional service of customers. They have a large dining area and space for private events as well. The food is flavorful, hot, delicious, and constantly replenished. The waiters and waitresses are very kind and accommodation. Get the butter chicken! It is truly delicious. I love their samosas, too. They are so savory and obviously prepared with the best ingredients. They are perfect spot for Sunday after church or a Saturday evening with family and friends. The dining is very family-oriented and accommodates large crowds. This is a new favorite! We will definitely be returning.

Very attentive wait staff. A great restaurant set up. The food was excellent. Will definitely go back. I had the chicken samosas. Delicious. Lamb vindaloo hot. With rice. I also sampled the rice pudding. It was good also.

Went here yesterday and had daal makhani. I really enjoyed it. It was very creamy and flavorful and was cooked the way I expect the dish to taste. Many other Indian restaurants in Atlanta area do not get this dish right so I was pleased at the quality of food and the portion size. Also my other favorite part was they brought out a complimentary soup and dessert! Very quiet ambience and quick service. It was a great experience. Plenty of parking and it wasn't very busy on a weeknight so it was very quick. There are so many veggie options too which is a plus for vegetarians.

Explicitly asked for spicy on both orders. We got the most gringo, mild food. So disappointed.

Inconsistency is key at Taj Mahal Grill. When they get it right at Taj, the food is downright delicious and the dine-in staff are a delight. But when they get it wrong, they get it verrry wrong, y'all. If you have any modifications whatsoever (ex. Requesting a specific spice level or swapping out a protein), don't expect them to pay attention. I've gotten take out and/or delivery (called in, ordered through their website online order portal, or via third party app like UberEats) on numerous occasions and despite "checking off" the menu item that explicitly states the modifications, they get it wrong 9/10 times. Most recent example, I ordered a paneer tikka masala. Asked for spicy level and asked to add veggies. I got neither. And if you're paying all of the increased fees for the delivery, it becomes increasingly disappointing when you don't get what you pay for. To add insult to injury, the rice was old, cold and clearly bottom of the barrel. All this to say, if you can manage to get your order the way you envisioned, you'll likely enjoy it. But nowadays, I'm left not willing to gamble after being spurned too many times before.

Excellent service, delicious food. But if you get any goat dishes there are lots of bones - opt for lamb instead. Goat was super tasty tho!

We've also started noticing a decline in the food quality; little things they do to cut corners such as extra breading on anything that has breading (like gobi manchurian, chicken lollipops, etc.). All the chicken chunks in their main dishes (chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, chicken home style curry, etc.) are all cooked until they're hard as rocks and tough as a rubber band ball--basically inedible. The tandoori chicken lying around is fairly dry, with the exception of the drumsticks, but they're all cool/lukewarm. There's also significantly less customers than there used to be, with a Saturday prime lunch time basically crickets and flies--we saw 2 tables in the hour we were there and it was empty when we got there). It's on the lower end of a 3 star now, but I'll give it the 3 due to the flavorful sauces (minus the completely bland home style curry) and the desserts are still pretty good. I hope they stop cutting corners and focus more on food quality, but I think this is our last visit here. We always came here for the tikka masala (my husband's favorite Indian dish) and considering it's inedible...I guess this is it.

Open in East Rome since fall 2024, we ordered from the take-home paper menu because it describes each course in detail. We had: Butter chicken. We started here based on local social media recommendations. This isn't something Paula Deen would whip up with her traditional "stick of butter." States the menu: "Chicken cooked with herbs and spices in a butter sauce." It looks something you'd put on spaghetti rather than the generous bowl of rice. Our take: It will be our go-to at this spot; good and filling. Chicken kurma (chicken, spices, coconut and herbs) was our friend's main course. Again, with a mound of rice. He shared it and all items that evening. Our take: Also good with more zip than the butter chicken. Mix vegetable korma (a floured gravy made with parboiled vegetables). This was our side if you will (no fries). A tangy broth that was very tasty, especially when dipping the naan we ordered. The meal is served at your table but a note that indoor seating is tight. The utensils and napkins are self-serve and you're asked to clear your place when done. There's covered outdoor seating with wind guards. And we were surprised by the steady flow of carry-out customers. Entrees mostly are from $10 to $20 with many in the $13 range. Appetizers and desserts vary. Cards accepted.
