I was a first-time homeowner and fell for the classic "We'll give you a free roof inspection"…read morepitch. I ended up hiring Priority Roofing, a company with hundreds of 5-star Google reviews. What could possibly go wrong? The answer: plenty. My new roof leaked after the very first rain. My insurance adjuster denied the claim because the leak was caused by faulty chimney flashing/shingle installation, making it a workmanship issue that should have been covered under the roofer's warranty. When I contacted Priority Roofing, they flat-out refused to take responsibility. Two employees came out, poured water over the roof for a few minutes, declared everything was fine, and left. Since they refused to honor their warranty, I hired another contractor at my own expense. Sure enough, he found that Priority Roofing's installation was indeed the cause of the leak. I had to pay out of pocket to repair damage that never should have happened in the first place. I thought the nightmare was over. Four years later, my roof leaked again. This time, I discovered that Priority Roofing had reused my old roof vents instead of replacing them during the roof installation. The aging vent seals eventually failed, causing another leak. Rather than go through another frustrating warranty battle with Priority Roofing--with no confidence they would fix the problem correctly anyway--I did extensive research and found Reyes Roofing. I worked with Vincente, and the experience was everything I wish the first one had been. Vincente and his crew replaced the old vents that should have been replaced from the beginning, sealed every vulnerable area, and thoroughly addressed the issues left behind by Priority Roofing. They were professional, honest, and meticulous throughout the process. As an added bonus, their price was significantly lower than the other roofing companies I contacted. Thank you, Vincente and Reyes Roofing, for finally ending years of roof leaks and frustration. You restored my faith that there are still contractors who stand behind their work.

I have recommended Marks Builders to many of my family and friends, and they've all had great things to say too.  Read on if you want the whole story! I had a leak in a wall between two bathrooms, above the kitchen.  Just to set the scene, my wife was pregnant and we had a baby due 3 weeks after the start of the construction.  My kitchen had a dropped ceiling and was original to the 1970s house.  Dustin worked with State Farm (my insurance carrier) to bring the adjuster's repair estimate up to a par. He and his team worked with us to order cabinets early (we were getting custom cabinets so they had a long lead time), then they gutted the kitchen and bathroom, raising the ceiling to 8' (reworking the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical lines in the process).  They pulled up all of the tile in the downstairs while we were out of the house (and in the hospital having the baby).  We asked for a few days at home without construction when we came home, to which they agreed. They worked hard to make sure that the house was ready for cabinets when they would be delivered. The cabinets were delivered without issue and installed the same week, with the trim taking longer than any other single step because they wanted it to look just right - and it paid off! The finishing touches make all the difference! The granite crew came in and did their thing. Like all of Dustin's sub-contractors, they were on time, professional, and courteous. They did their work well, quickly, and cleanly. We opted for granite counters and granite backsplashes, with different edge finishes in different places, corners, etc. to work around. They did it all well. Our kitchen looks fantastic, even a year and a half later. Through the whole 2-month process, Dustin's crew was on-site 4-6 days/week, except when we asked for the break. We made a lot of changes midway through, and Dustin didn't nickel and dime on the little things (moving an outlet, changing from a 2 gang to a 4 gang plug, etc). He was happy to work with my attention to detail (which can frustrate most people I know) and he did it with a smile - his attention to detail was similar. His crew was always fun to have around, and I never once worried about them being in the home, whether I was there or not. They worked hard to make sure we felt safe with them in the house at the start of Covid. All said, I strongly recommend Marks Builders. They're honest, smart, hard-working, and fun people who care about the work they produce and their customers' experience.

Josh was professional, extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He took the time to explain everything and answer my (many) questions without ever making me feel stupid or like I was being "sold". He didn't just show up in person for the initial sale and then disappear, but was up there on the roof with the insurance adjuster to make sure they didn't try to cheap out on me, came back again on the day the roof was replaced, and again once more to make sure I was happy with the work. Josh works with the same crew regularly and they did an excellent job, finishing the whole thing in one day. They took reasonable care not to damage plants or anything else while removing the old roof and did a thorough job cleaning up after, even going over the surrounding area with a giant magnet to catch stray nails. And I didn't have to pay anything until the job was complete. It's easy to see why Premier (yellow/black logo--don't confuse with the out-of-town company with the blue logo) was recommended by my former State Farm agent. Not sure why so many other positive, seemingly legit reviews are being held hostage in the "not recommended" jail, but be sure to scroll all the way down and read those to get the full picture. I contacted several of the well-reviewed Yelp roofers to get bids and ultimately chose Premier Roofing. My contact was Josh and he was punctual, flexible, and came in with an excellent bid. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Although I hope not to have any roofing issues in the near future, I really enjoyed working with Josh.
