The contractor came out, marked up my lawn, sprayed grass killer, and began preparing the area. Shortly afterward, another contractor happened to stop by and offered a quote. Out of fairness, I wanted to validate pricing not to haggle, just to understand. Instead of having a professional conversation, RC Landscaping took offense and walked off the job entirely. What's worse is that he had already sprayed my yard, leaving me with dead, unsightly grass and no plan to repair or finish the work. Now I'm left scrambling to fix damage I didn't ask for just because I wanted to make an informed decision. The photo attached shows the current state of my lawn. It's clear, marked, and dead. This wasn't how I expected the relationship to end. If you're considering RC Landscaping, beware: if you seek clarity on price, they might just leave you mid-project. RESPONSE : I initially contacted RC Landscaping to help design flower beds for my front yard. We discussed expectations, and he even came out to mark the yard and spray it to prep for install. While I hadn't delivered the materials yet, I was planning to, and we had a start date set. Things changed when I asked a simple question about pricing. Another contractor had stopped by with a lower estimate, and I wanted to understand the difference--especially since only one bed was multi-layered and the rest were basic. I wasn't trying to cancel the job; just asking for clarity. Instead of a conversation, the contractor called off the job entirely, citing a lack of trust. I was left with patches of dead grass and no work done. I also asked to keep the drawing for reference (since I now have to start over), but was told no. The owner claims I was difficult or indecisive--but I have screenshots that show I was respectful and collaborative throughout. I never changed the job scope drastically--I asked thoughtful questions as part of normal planning. In the end, I can't recommend this business based on how the situation was handled. They also had poor drainage that was eroding the side of the tree.

This December I noticed a leak near the valve and asked them to come see if it was warranty work. We agreed to an appointment time and Brandon was a no show. He did not call ahead of time and did not respond to my text asking if he needed to reschedule. I tried calling, and he would not pick up nor would he return my call. I had my wife call from her phone and he picked up, apologized and said he was embarrassed about the lack of promptness or customer service. We set another time for him to come out. I even marked the spot with a small red flag. The day came and went, he was a no show again. Now he won't respond to either of us, via text or email, or phone call. I have to assume he does not want to consider warranty work, if that's what it turned out to be. If you check his bio on Yelp, he references wanting to build good customer relationships and offer quality, reliable service. After our recent experiences I'd have to give Brandon and Better Earth a solid F minus, maybe even a zero. The funny thing is, when he came out this past summer he asked me why I've used so many different irrigation companies in the past few years. I told him it was because of reliability and honest service. Now we are having to mark Better Earth Solutions off our list and while they can do good work, I'd not recommend them to anyone. I even sent him a few notes about writing a negative review but wanted to give him a chance to "make it right" before I did. His silence spoke volumes. If you are looking for an irrigation company, I'd say hard pass on Better Earth.

All within 10 days we had Jesus come by to scope the project, got an estimate, scheduled the work and now it's all complete! Jesus was incredibly helpful and very kind, and Noe the onsite project manager was awesome. Both of them were also super responsive! The guys were on time and they even came back by in the evening unscheduled to finish a piece we hadn't originally scoped. Highly recommend!
