I have played here a few times and each time the experience has gotten better and better. Everything from the lights, The court surface, and the viewing deck are top notch. You can tell that no detail has been spared in making these courts. The lights have a fast refresh rate, and basically make it as bright as day when you are playing at night. The court area is very large, and honestly it used to be a little annoying to chase down all the balls, but the owner recently set up little blockers which have cut down the ball chasing time immensely. The owner is a super cool guy and a veteran. So he is very military friendly. He's also a Selkirk rep, so hit him up for everything selkirk There's also adequate parking and I have seen up to 20 cars parked in the dirt lot next to the courts no problem. I've heard the owner is in the process of putting in an additional court, and when that happens I can't think of a better place to hold an 8 person round robin or mini tournament! Rates go for $20 an hour for court rentals and $40 an hour for private drilling/lessons. Hard to beat that!

I cannot say enough about this little slice of paradise that Jimmy has created in Fallbrook. Jefferey at the front was so kind and helpful as I signed up for the membership. He enlightened me what the membership has to offer. This entails a month of activities, and discounted ($5) lunches (must make reservations at least a day in advance) daily. A calendar of the activities and meals for the month is available. I signed up for the membership, for the Ukelele beginners class. I will begin that in the 3rd week of January, but was invited to sit in the last class for the year. It was great, the instructor was personable and witty. The attendees that I had met were friendly and talented. The instructor and some of the regulars made sure to invite me to stay and watch the people that stay and play together for and hour or so. I did sit in after lunch (senior lunch offered at the Community Center). I was quite surprised at the number of people that attended. I'd say about 30 people! It was nice to listen to the instruments, some guitars and even a flutist was in the mix of ukelele player's. It was quite beautiful listening to Christmas music this way. They have this every Friday! I think I will be sitting in often just to listen and possibly learn something as well. I decided in advanced I would give the lunch a try, so I made my call a day in advance. I was told you could make reservations for the entire month if you wanted, not just a day. After sitting in on the ukelele class I walked across the way to the Fallbrook Community center where the lunch is served. I signed in at the table, checked off my name on the list and donated $5. Pick up your salad and roll at the lunch window and have a seat, and the meal will be served to you along with a drink. They had live music. Round tables are set up and their were quite a few people, I'm sure some are regulars. The ladies that I sat with were regulars. They have someone walking around making sure your drinks are filled and clearing out any empty dishes. Great lunch and got to meet some new people. I may be a senior, but I sure don't have a senior appetite just yet, lol. Your food pyramid is covered though, and probably the correct amount I should be eating. I would definitely have another bite here sometime and have a chance to meet some new people. They have a Senior thrift store which I have been coming to occasionally in search of anything that could be utilized for camping. Lots of things, furnishing too. I'm glad to be a member and will take advantage of some of the cool things they have to offer. I'm totally excited for the ukelele classes.

Great events, activities,trips and food. Every other Wednesday night is BINGO. Monday thru Friday they serve up some great lunches for just a few dollars donation. They also run a home delivered lunch program which I understand may be discontinued due to lack of funding. If you got it, you should contribute to it for your meals. Donations are always appreciated and welcomed. Please remember them in your wills.

My buddy's Valley Center Tennis Club is tucked in between Robert Adams Community Park and an elementary school. They called it a club but it more like the old public courts that are rare and usually not free for the public these days. The courts (there are 6 of them) are old but relatively well kept and located in two levels. The reason I said or laughed at the "Club" label because there is no club or facility (shared restrooms with Adams Park) or anyone there (except for a part-time maintenance person). Due to the location (Valley Center), it's very hot, dried, and the balls tend to fly off your racket. So, don't over swing. Also, bring lots of liquid because the water faucets are far from the courts and by the shared public restrooms. But for $80 a year membership, it's one of the best deals in town. Especially, if you are local and love tennis.

It recently was purchased and it just feels they are cutting corners on the foundation of what makes the "golf course" run smoothly. Pro shop is alright. Nothing special, and merchandise is pretty subpar. The Marshall out there was pretty useless and I say that strongly. I'm sure they are quick to jump on a group of guys having some fun if they are 2 minutes behind pace. But in my experience there. We have 3 twosome's (including myself) backed up on a 2:40 tee time.... All because of 1 pair of old guys who (and I mean this literally) took 2 minutes to set up and hit every shot. Even the putts. Waiting to tee off on a 500 yard par 5.... have some feel old guy. So anyway, I NEVER complain to any Marshall. It's like telling a teacher in school... however I said "hey man! I hate to even ask or bring it up. But the group in front of us is very slow and purposely not waiting or giving us an opportunity to pass them. Can you give them a little pep?" To which he responded "ya I let the group in front of them know, but you can always just ask to play through" My good sir. DO YOUR JOB. There is no chance that a twilight twosome should have a 4 hour round. And if I'm the only group held up, I'll figure it out, skip a hole, go around. But when it's 3+ groups.... it's time to pull the problem on the side for a 10 minute pit stop and let the golf traffic move on through. Overall. This incident doesn't really pertain to the course itself, so take that story with a grain of salt. However, Marshalls and overall management should still care about pace of play or not allowing a human traffic cone to control the flow of the game. Even if it's 3pm. Lazy

There is a water station that has reverse osmosis water near the check-in station. The driving range has a good amount of stations. Cons: parking here can get crowded very quickly. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and had to park in the dirt patch next to the parking lot as it was way too full. Not necessarily a huge con, but a lot of other golfers brought their dogs with them on the course which is fine but could be a hazard for other people driving their golf carts. Nothing too crazy here. Verdict: you're very challenging course, but this course is very fun. I spent around $80 to play here which is a bit on the expensive side but could be worth it if you get Sunset hours or maybe during a different season. I'd recommend other people to come here if they want to challenge themselves at golf.

It turned out that they kept rolling and charged my card for another month without my permission. I think that's how they trick people on it. I called the manager and he said that he can cancel the membership but he's not gonna refund the money. And he apologized that the front desk girl didn't acknowledge us about the way they charge membership and I should read about their rules with little writing in the back of the card.
