Family Auto Mart was selling a Lexus IS250 as a trade-in and when you call them, they intentionally sell it stating "we don't check anything so don't ask" which is SHADY from the start. I asked the DOUG to tell me if the AC worked, I would drive 2 hrs to go there only if the AC didn't need fixing because I live far away. He tells me usually the AC works on an IS 250 "but that's the least of your problems with that car?" I said "Sounds like you know something I don't know, usually not with a Lexus IS250 meaning they're usually mechanically sound. Then the guy goes into JERK MODE and tells me "it's perfect then, come on down? I asked him why he was being a jerk and if he wanted the sale, I'm just asking you to go to the lot, start the car, and put your hand next to the vent if it comes out cold I drive 2 hrs tomorrow to see it. He said "I'm not selling to you F*^%% OFF" and hung up, THAT'S A SALSESGUY? When I called back the same guy pretended I wasn't talking to him right 5 MINS before (DOUG) and tried to blame his attitude on my comment that IS 250's are mechanically sound. I asked for carfax and he wouldn't pull it unless I was ready to buy. He also asked what it was I was looking for. Cody, the salesman has no idea what cars they have nor the prices and since the prices aren't listed(or a master list or code on the car) so he has to go into the office every time to ask the manager questions. When I asked to talk to Doug the Sales Manager, he was rude and unprofessional. I had a pocket full of cash and was simply looking for a decent car at a decent price for my daughter. First time I ever leave a Yelp review since my experience was so bad. ***Total bait and switch!*** My vehicle was totaled and I had an insurance check and needed a vehicle ASAP since my rental was expired. Called before hand to verify vehicle was still there and was told it was, called a second time to make sure it was clean title and not salvage or rebuilt, and was assured everything was fine. Drove an hour and a half 100+miles with cash and when I get there I get told "Oh, by the way, its not running right and has a rod knock. We have plenty of others though". WTF?!? They couldn't say that in the ad or during either of my two calls??? I wasted a whole afternoon and $20+ in gas. The cars are all in poor shape, straight from auctions with zero reconditioning. They don't even vacuum or clean the interior or even take a second to wipe dirt and crumbs off the dash. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. read more

Be very careful when going to this dealer. Do your homework to see what the car you want is worth. They will not provide a CarFax, so it's a good idea to be able to run one. We went armed with cellphone that provided a hotspot and a tablet so we could look cars up as we shopped. Went to Family Auto Mart to see cars listed on their website - was told they were sold and they are 2-3 weeks behind updating their website. Ok, we could see that. Asked about 2 other cars - test drove them. Lots of items that needed fixed on both cars - electrical and cosmetic. Check engine light was on - told probably an O2 sensor. Took car to local auto parts place, they confirmed O2 sensor issue. Then, looked the cars up on Kelly Blue Book and ran CarFax. This is where it got interesting. One car in "fair" condition with the miles was listed at $3500 and the other at $4000. Made those offers. Was told by salesman he didn't know how we got our dollar amounts as he showed us a webpage with $7something thousand listed. The alarm bells started going off. We asked him to show us how he got that dollar amount. As we watched him pull values from Kelly Blue Book I noticed he selected "Excellent" for the cars condition. I asked him why he did that because the car is certainly not in "Excellent" condition, at best it is in "Fair" condition. The answer "we always choose that." Hmmmm........... The alarm bells good louder But even with him checking the Kelly Blue Book site in front of me, the amount returned was only $5something thousand (selecting "Excellent" condition mind you). He could not replicate how he got the $7something thousand dollar amount he presented to us. The alarm bells were deafening at this point. We chose not to buy from them, they wouldn't accept our all-cash offer saying they couldn't purchase the vehicles at auction for what we were offering for them. Mind you, this is after the salesperson couldn't replicate the dollar amount he presented to us on Kelly Blue Book. We ended up buying a Volvo in EXCELLENT shape with FEWER MILES for less than they were asking for a Cadillac with lots of electrical and cosmetic issues. My advice, if you go here, go armed with knowledge and the ability to look up the value on Kelly Blue Book and to run a CarFax. Don't accept vehicle values they give you. No hello, nothin!! The salesman just happened to see my husband's door dash stuff sitting on his windshield. This is a side job that he just happens to love that he does on weekends for fun. He suggested that I also take a look at their inventory because they had a lot of nice cars that were at a great price. So, I took a look myself, found a great car for us, and the next day, we set out on a journey to purchase the vehicle that we found. It was a really nice Honda Accord for $4,500. I immediately said, WOW, lets go. Upon our arrival, as soon as we got out of the car, we were immediately sought after by a salesman. My fiance told him that we were just browsing and wanted to take a look around their lot. My fiance also asked him if the prices were noted on the vehicles and "Fredo" (the sales guy), said no. My fiance is under the impression that auto dealers who do not list the sales price on the car will adjust the price depending on the person (or type of person) who is looking at the car, I am however, starting to agree with him. When we finally located the Honda Accord that was our sole purpose for going to this dealership, the price was $8,000. So, my fiance asked Fredo, "where are the cars that are listed on your website that are supposedly $5,000?" Of the 300 cars that they have listed on their website, they had only 1 car that was the actual price that their website said. I HATE this dealership!!!! So stay with me on this one.... I was looking for a specific vehicle on AutoTrader the past 2 weeks with average prices around $7,000 for what I was trying to buy. I stumbled across a vehicle from Family Auto Mart for $4,200 one late Tuesday afternoon that looked pretty good from the 4 pictures posted on AutoTrader (First warning sign, this is how they reel you in, semi-decent photos to invoke interest). There were no miles listed on the site though, so I e-mailed the seller inquiring if this great deal was still available and what the mileage was. I received a call the next morning, now Wednesday, telling me the vehicle was still available with 120,000 miles (Great! This is roughly what I was looking for). I began to start telling myself this deal was too good to pass up and if it didn't have all the features I was trying to have, no big deal the price was great and I wouldn't have to finance. So...put all my ducks in a row in the next 45 minutes. Scraped money together, lined up selling my old car on the way down (I live in Gainesville, about 2 hrs & 30 min away), telling the boss I was leaving for the day, had the girlfriend do the same with her boss, and finally, called Family Auto Mart to tell them I was coming and to hold the vehicle. At that point, the new salesperson, not the one who called me first, told me the car was already sold:( ON SUNDAY!!! Mind you now, it was now Wednesday! And he started asking what else he could sell me instead...without once apologizing for the enormous clusterf*ck he just caused me. I had to cancel the sale of my vehicle I was selling on the way down, put my tail between my legs to tell my boss I was in fact finishing out the day, broke the news to my girlfriend to do the same, and managed to look like a complete idiot to all for letting this happen. False advertisement, extremely rude, unreasonable prices... must i continue??? I came across the website and immedietly knew the prices were too good to be true but i figured id give it a shot anyway. I called the number listed on the website and asked the woman who answered if the prices listed on the website were the actual prices, after connecting me to sales and waiting on hold for 15 minutes, she returned to the call and told me someone would return my call within the hour that they were extremely busy. A few hours later after not recieving a call back, I decided to drive over there and check the place out. Upon arriving my first view was the salesman lounging outside playing on his cell phone. I asked him about the large variety of cars i found on the website listed at 2995, 3995. He responded that the cash only cars (pretty much anything under 5000) had serious mechanical issues and were not drivable. I expressed my annoyance at that information being left out of the advertisements. He remarked if i had called ahead someone could have assissted me over the phone. As if wasnt still waiting on a call back when i pulled up and saw him playing on his phone. Although i should have just turned around and walked away, i allowed the man to show me "a few of the cheaper cars". The first car we approached was a 2004 civic or accord with almost 200000 miles on it for almost 8000 dollars. When i realized he was serious, i turned around and walked off without another word. Let me start by saying: When I see a car for an incredible price I ask, "what is wrong with it?" Before I drove from Kissimmee to Family Auto Mart (1 Hour and 20 minutes away) I had a conversation about a car I saw online. It was and incredible deal, I asked that same question: "What is wrong with it? I was told that it had high mileage (140,000 miles for a 2002 Toyota which is not that high) so I took that long drive only to find that the car I inquired about was in the back somewhere, dirty and covered in leaves and was undriveable! REALLY? They claim they put God first but they scheme more than any car dealer these days. First of all they don't put any of their mileage online, when you arrive there aren't any prices on the windows and instead of listening to your needs for a second they try to rush you into the first car you ask about totally ignoring your price range. They also use all the cliche sales terms like "I should by one for myself" "We just sold a bunch of them yesterday" " If I gave it to you would you take it?" I did real estate and vacation sales so I know all of them and learned that only the happy customers will refer your business. They're not honest! We called on a SUV prior to making the 2.5 hour drive. They told us that the reason the truck was priced low was due to high mileage. Low and behold, the truck was there.... But it was also banged up (not mentioned or visible in their clever photo angles), had a messed up engine, and the trucks computer was messed up. When shopping for a used car for our 23 year old daughter, we looked at multiple used car dealers in the Melbourne area and found Family Auto Mart. Although they were closed on Sunday, ???, we ran through and looked at several of the vehicles we saw online. Decided to go back Monday morning and were glad we did. The Finance Mgr and our sales person were very knowledgable and helpful. We settled on an Acura TL and they were able to assist with all of our questions and concerns. We reached a very satisfactory deal, had a great experience and have a very happy daughter! We will be back when it's the boys turn! read more

I almost got car then got it checked at a car shop and it had lots of problems that they knew of due to the constant jumping of battery where the mechanic could see scratches and starter problems car lot guy always had to be the one to start it up or bring it around.... If I could rate less stars I would. The online inventory doesn't match what's on the lot. No listed prices on the cars. Pushy and very aggressive so called sales staff will become quickly agitated when you ask is the price actually $7000 or like $7000. They seem to randomly pull prices from who knows where. Cracked windshields to broken lights are clear safety violations and shouldn't even be available until they are made legal and road worthy. I highly recommend avoiding at all costs. read more
