My wife and I wanted to share our amazing experience, giving birth to our first child and how special it turned out. We had visited another birthing center in Dallas how ever it was not very inviting so we chose to try another. Little did we know that we had a birthing center 5 minutes away from home *huge plus, and we did not regret giving them a try. We called the next day an made an appointment with Joyce. When we got to our appointment we were greeted by Joyce with a huge smile, the waiting area was very nice and felt like home. Joyce explained the whole process in detail and made sure that I was also comfortable with the idea of a natural birth. She made sure all our questions were answered and told us we could call back if anything else came up. My wife and I knew after our orientation that we had found the right place to give birth to our baby girl. So that same day we booked our first visit with Joyce and started this new journey with the Family Centered Maternity Care. Through out my wife's pregnancy Joyce was very helpful and gave us a lot of great tips and advice to help make the experience just that much better. Closer to our due date we came across a small hick up but Christina stepped in to assist and correct the situation. Christina was also amazing, she went the extra mile to make sure that my wife's needs were met but also insured that we were informed of possible outcomes should things get complicated. Along the way we also met Jenna and Robin, they also were a huge help, and assisted with several check ups and calming us down when things got a little tough. A week and a half before my wife was due, we called in to check on a few things as my wife was getting pretty big and it was only our baby girl coming not twins... so we went in for a sonogram to confirm it was just one... and then we were given a couple of options as to which direction to take.. so we chose to deliver early!!! Christina and Jenna made sure we were prepared for what was coming, first baby a lot of things go through your mind especially me as a husband, all I wanted to do was protect my little family. Finally the day came, my wife went into labor, even though the odds were stacked against us, Christina didn't give up on us, she has a huge support for us and was very very patient. Robin called my wife a true warrior, several odds stacked against here but she was determined to have our baby girl at this birthing center it was the one, we did not want to go anywhere else. After 12 1/2hrs of peaceful and beautiful labor our baby Jimena arrived at 11:35pm Oct. 15. Thanks to these 3 amazing, talented and patient midwifes and the help of God, everything came out great. Our princess was born healthy little to no complications, and she was chubby!!! Thank you soooo much Christina for not giving up on us, Jenna for holding our hand every step of the way, and Robin for calming us down, and making sure my daughters birth went as smoothly as it did, and Joyce for making that first impression count, without it we wouldn't of stayed and gave your birthing center a try. We will definitely see each other again, once Jimena is ready for a little brother or sister. A huge hug to all of you and thank you again for just being simply amazing. - Juan&Dulce and baby Jimena. *heres a one month update on our princess. She is doing great, lots of energy and yesss chubby chubby chubby!!!

Joyce and Hali are wonderful! I gave birth at this birth center a few weeks ago. They take so much time with you at each appointment and let you choose how you want to do everything. I had my perfect water birth: 4 hour labor, pushed for 15 minutes and baby healthy!

This was my first choice in care. My last birth, six years ago, was in Richardson at lovers lane birthing center. Even though I received good care there, this facility was closer and that's what really mattered to me. The first time that I came for a tour I met Joyce and did a walk through with some other new expectant women. Then my husband and I decided to follow through and I sure am glad that we did! My first few visits were with Robin, I had a couple with Joyce and finally some with Christina- and her happy little helper Cohen! (: Last time I gave birth, I was acquainted with mainly one midwife and was a little thrown when it came time to deliver and actually gave birth with another midwife, so I am glad to have met with all of the midwives so that when the time came, even if someone was ill or unavailable I felt familiar with everyone! My delivering midwife was Christina, Robin was also there, alongside some students Rebecca and Jenna. I didn't know Jenna very well and had only met her once beforehand but when the day came I was very grateful to have such a sweet caring helper there for me and my family! This pregnancy, I felt very taken care of and informed, Joyce and Robin offered so many natural helpful tips sprouted from many years experience and Christina, being an experienced midwife and new mother herself gave me a peaceful feeling of camaraderie! All of the midwives were very adamant about my birth plan and when the time came they stuck to it to a tee, as much as possible. When my daughter was born she swallowed some meconium and was unable to breathe. I am incredibly grateful that these amazing women were there to get it out and get my little one breathing normally! They helped provide an amazing experience and healthy happy little baby for me and my family! Also on another note they just redecorated and the place looks amazing. Plus, Linda the receptionist is the best and so hardworking! She goes above and beyond to help in anyway she can especially when communicating with the midwives on one's behalf! All in all I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you have the opportunity to birth here or with one of these ladies, do it!!

The absolute best prenatal care, birth, and post partum care I've ever had! I love FCMC!

Kristi was very understanding of my choice for unassisted birth and made sure I had a birth as close to unassisted as possible! She was amazing and in just a few short weeks we got to know each other and she was always there when I needed her. I got to give birth in the water like I wanted without any issues, interventions, or complications. I even pulled my baby boy out all by myself!! It was as close to unassisted as possible. I was very happy with my choice to have Kristi by my side in case I needed any assistance. She didn't take my insurance but even my out of pocket cost was extremely fair. I was so happy I could find a midwife Like Kristi so far along in my pregnancy!

I'm the kind of person who wants all the information even if it's ugly so I can make my best informed decision. Kristy always gave me all the details on whatever topic was up for decision. The risks and the benefits; everything! It's rare for me to find a medical professional who can be honest, competent, AND pleasant to work with but Kristy is all three. She knows her stuff and i felt completely at ease with her attending my home birth. I love that she keeps up with the latest research instead of using decade old information like some obgyns. I had a traumatic first birth with murky information and so was extra anxious about certain risk factors but Kristy guided me through the whole thing. With her guidance and support I had a quick, unmedicated, and manageable labor this time and gave birth to a healthy baby girl within the comfort of my home! She also clearly loves babies and kids. I interviewed another midwife and what made me pick Kristy was her full support of me having my toddler present at the birth. He ended up not wanting to be in the room but I loved that she was on board with him being there. The other midwife wasn't too thrilled with that idea. Kristy was extremely easy to reach any time i had any questions. I was sick at some point during the pregnancy and she fully encouraged me to call her day or night. She gave me so much emotional support throughout the whole ordeal and throughout my entire pregnancy. She's simply amazing. Use Kristy, you won't regret it!

This journey involved learning all about birthing centers, different types of midwives, different requirements/restrictions with each scenario, etc etc. We visited various birthing centers in Dallas and the surrounding areas but ultimately, and to our great satisfaction and appreciation... we were connected to Sweet Pea Midwifery and Olivia Delavega. We felt a huge sense of relief, because for my wife and I, having our baby in the comfort, energy, ambiance and convenience of our home checked all the boxes... Olivia, her team and her network were wonderful. Our experience with Olivia, Tabby and Iana (our Doula; within Olivia/Tabby's Network) was incredible. Well organized, cohesive, logical pregnancy plan coupled with a very informative and great emotional support structure from Iana. At no time did we feel pressured to do anything. Free will and free choice should be pervasive throughout our lives, but more and more it feels like some of those freedoms are slipping away. That wasn't the case with Sweet Pea Midwifery. We chose to have a 100% natural, zero pain intervention birth at home. Old School style... like they did for 1000's of years. At each step and with each choice we discussed the pros, the cons, the risks of each with Olivia and Tabby, asking countless questions, and in the end we chose the path that made the most sense for us and felt fully supported by the whole team. If we have another child, we will absolutely return to Sweet Pea Midwifery. I just can't say enough good things... this review would go on and on. Thank you so much Olivia!!!

Although my birth was incredibly fast, Olivia was such a help to me. Not necessarily because of what she did, but how she encouraged me and empowered me to birth my baby. I have had 3 babies previously (with different providers in a different state) and not once did I feel confident taking the reins during the actual pushing. I always waited for other providers to tell me it was okay to start pushing, but with Olivia, I was confident and comfortable enough to let me body do the work and rest in that. Even when she gave me advice, they were more helpful suggestions than commands that I felt in previous births. I so appreciated her aid and reassuring presence. Postpartum care was also phenomenal and our whole family felt very loved and cared for. Olivia and Tabby have become friends and if we were to have any more babies, I would love to be in their care again. Thank you, Sweet Pea Midwifery, for such a beautiful experience that I will treasure forever.

We both interviewed a few midwife practices in the DFW area, and we felt comfortable with Cori right away. She had the perfect balance between being personable and professional at the same time. I felt safe with asking her questions without being judged. She always asked what questions we would have multiple times throughout our appointments with her. She also never rushed us during appointments, and really took her time and gave us the full appointment to her undivided attention. She explains everything very well, using different resources. Cori is extremely respectful of different cultural practices, she even asks about any a couple would like to practice during the pregnancy and birth so she can be aware and accommodate. She also has a great community of Doulas, other midwives, doctors, chiropractors and pelvic floor therapists she is connected to. When the day finally came, Cori was extremely calm. Her voice and tone was calming, moved in the room without excessive noise (which was very helpful, during the last stages of labor) and she was completely prepared. I loved her availability through text messages anytime i forgot to ask her something, and this was especially helpful during labor, for both my husband and doula. Highly recommend having Cori part of anyone's pregnancy and birth journey, she'll definitely be part of our second pregnancy!

You get to meet with all three Midwives so that you are comfortable with whoever is on call when you go into labor. Krystal helped me so much along the way and referred me to a chiropractor, doula, and lactation consultant who were all professional and wonderful. The birthing center itself is nice and has a peaceful, relaxing environment. During my labor, Krystal was so patient and helpful. She explained everything that she was doing throughout the entire process, provided me with options, allowed me to make my own decisions, and answered my questions kindly. Due to failure to progress (I was not dilating past 3 cm despite multiple unsuccessful strategies to progress labor and change my baby's position.. he was sunny side up and stuck on my pelvic bone..) and prolonged rupture of membranes (it had been 20 hours since my water broke) Krystal recommended I transfer to higher level of care. Although the way I delivered was not how I planned, I was grateful to Krystal for recognizing the signs early enough to recommend the transfer before it became emergent. In the end I had a healthy baby boy and I'm grateful to the team at LLBC for their help! They have been wonderful postpartum as well!
