I had Mayeli cut my son's hair .The experience in the salon was great. She was friendly, and my son was relaxed playing with the toys. The cut however...disappointing. It looked great while we were there but it could've been the lighting and the fact that his hair was wet. Now that it's dry ...it's a hot mess. No blend, choppy cuts and looks like a bird nest . Sadly going to have to cut it again to try to fix it :/

Brought my son here tonight 12/17/24 I am speechless! He was butchered so badly please avoid this place at all costs! Pictures speak for themselves. I've never seen my son cry after a haircut and now he doesn't even want to go to school. I will keep calling until I speak to the owner the lady who did this can not be licensed!

This place was so much fun! My son and brother in law loved it. There was so much for them to do while they wait or even ad they were getting their haircuts. Like playing video games! That was a win for them. Price was good and the staff where very nice! I would recommend for sure!

The first hair cut is so special I was a bit nervous. I wanted his hair to be perfect. I'm so HAPPY I found Jennifer she had a way with scissors, she was able to finish his haircut in about 30 minutes. She asked if I wanted to use Clippers and I'm glad I didn't. She only used the clippers to perfect the edges. I definitely recommend coming to her and I will be coming back for future haircuts. There's a cute waiting area with toys to entertain your littles & a private parking lot.

I won't take my 3 year old son anywhere else to get his hair cut after coming here!! He HATES getting his hair cut, and is normally terrified, but this place catered to kids and made us feel so comfortable the second we walked in. The whole waiting room was filled with fun toys, and all the cutting chairs were fun cars they could choose to sit in. My son chose the monster truck. Olga was so patient and sweet with my son, gave him tons of toys, put on his favorite show, and explained what she was doing, while she was doing it so he wouldn't freak out. This was the best hair cut experience and the only place that has been able to actually cut my sons hair without him crying, in fact he left laughing, super happy, and already asking to go back to get another hair cut. I'm so grateful a place like this exists.

Took my nephew for a haircut. Booked online, paid $10 deposit to reserve my slot. My appointment was for 1pm but we did not get seen until 1:15pm. I wanted to like this place but for $25 I wish the stylist took a little more time and trimmed him neater. You can see his hair is choppy and the line up/taper is sloppy. Granted he has 2 cow licks which is hard to work with but I paid $12 at a small hair salon and they did a better job. I was hoping that going to an actual "kid oriented" salon I'd be getting a better cut but it wasn't worth the money tbh. I know they had other customers, and was behind but it felt rushed. From the time he sat in the chair to finish was about 20mins total. I probably won't be back though. Pros: Waiting room with toys, snack/drink vending machine, claw machine, cool decor, and good parking.

Took my 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter for their first haircut. My daughters was $30 and my sons was $25. My son moved around a lot but the hairstylist was patient with him and gentle which I appreciated. They have a waiting room full of toys for the kids to play with, a vending machine and a claw machine so take cash if you'd like to for that, I was able to pay with Apple Pay for the haircuts. Both kids got to choose their cool chairs to sit in, my daughter chose the Barbie chair and my son chose lightning McQueen and the stylist put a movie of his choice, and they also got lollipops. I recommend this place, this will now be my go to for my kids

Clean shop, perfect for kids... my son is African American with course hair so I take him to Jenny... I tried another girl and she gave him a very horrible cut.. Prices has went up ridiculously over the last couple of months, seems that they are capitalizing off of Covid. Although you would think they would be a little more reasonable during a pandemic after giving them years of service. read more

What a wonderful find! My son has Autism, and thus, has a VERY difficult time with haircuts (and I mean, VERY). The owners, as well as his barber Vero, are always extremely patient and accommodating. His haircuts used to take over an hour. Not anymore! Vero is very skilled, and knocks out his haircuts in about 20 minutes. The kid-friendly atmosphere is perfect for your little ones, but they also offer haircuts for adults. They offer discounted prices on haircuts on Mondays and Tuesdays. Walk-Ins are welcomed, but they take appointments as well. Follow them on IG for updates on family events they hold on a regular basis (slime making events, etc). If you have a child on the spectrum, your child might do well here. read more

Awesome! First place I enjoyed everything for my son, his first official haircut. Patty is Wonderful with the children, my son was 8 months old when I brought him and did not cry with her, she has a soft hand and a great personality to do this . My son was given a lollipop and enjoyed it which really helped us keep him still. Won't be changing him any where else. read more

First time going to Family Cutz with my 2yo. nephew. We didn't know what we were gonna do with his hair but Alicia was so helpful and we were so pleased with the end result. The waiting area and the cars where the kids could sit in were super cool. They also have tv's at the station where the kids could watch a movie while getting their hair cut. read more

I love that thiss place really is for kids ! I've been to other salons and I cannot stand the other clients looks when children don't want to get a hair cut . The hair stylist was attentive to my sons needs and was very patient with him . He is only two and doesn't not like to get his hair cut . I will definitely come back here fOr both my kids ! I took my son in today to get his very first haircut, and let me tell y'all. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! Everyone here is so nice and welcoming, especially Veronica, she cut my sons hair, and did his hair just how we wanted. She was very gentle and I liked how she was talking to him while cutting his hair so he didn't get scared. I love that they have a play area for kids and also they give the kids toys when they are doing their haircuts, so they get distracted (smart). My son will definitely be coming back and will be a regular. My husband and I are happy we made the choice to come here! Wish we could give them more stars!!! Thank you Family Cutz!! read more

If you have a child who hates haircuts, family cutz is such a great establishment! I am always so scared to cut my sons hair, he is autistic and does not like the vibrations on his head. I'm a first time parent and this is the first time I've had to look up a child friendly. As soon as I saw all the pics I knew this would be the perfect place to go check out. Turned our great!! Veronica handled Max like an absolute pro! She was great! It didnt take much time to cut my sons hair at all! He watched Moana, ate lollipops and had daddy blowing bubbles for him! The place is really clean and has a decent waiting area with some toys and things to keep the little ones occupied. I WILL BE RETURNING FOR SURE! For my and and myself next time! read more

Came in to get first haircut of my 1 year old baby girl. The place is really good for kids, clean and kids friendly. All of the staffs were so kind, accommodating and friendly. They really know how to handle my daughter, they're so sweet to her. They even give lollipop to my daughter. I wanted to Love this place...the cars are awesome and the kids get to choose a Netflix show to watch during the cut. The haircut overall is decent and Krista (or Kristin) was pleasant. My only complaint but a HUGE one, she cut my son in two spots behind his ear. Now I completely understand kids move around and that type of stuff happens but at least LET THE PARENT KNOW YOU'VE CUT THEIR KID!! My son was screaming "Owwww" and I just thought he was complaining about the buzz of the clippers only to find two cuts (bleeding) on the back of his ear. Unacceptable to not say something when it was clearly bleeding right away. Disappointing and I will never be back. read more

Pros: They know how to entertain the kids. My son loves the fact that they have Netflix at every station and the seats are cute and comes in different types of cars. Cons: Staff aren't fluent in English and lacking in skills. This was our first time and last. My son's hair was uneven and looks nothing like the picture I showed her. They are very very patient with the children. My brother put up a big fight and still didn't hear a "sigh" from the stylist, her tone did not change, her eyes did not roll to the back. She was very calm and professional. The side of the hair cut were perfect but, the rest was a downer. I'm very sad to say we probably won't be returning. read more

Finally found a kids hair salon that actually likes kids! This studio is wonderful and my girls enjoyed their short wait in the play area. Both stylists and receptionist were all smiles for my girls and did a great job on their hair. My 4 year old LOVED her heart shaped braid & the cool skull bow she got to pick out. This place is pretty easy to spot from the street and has been open about 2yrs. I called to make an appt, but I was running a little late. When I called to let them know they were very understanding and kept a friendly dimener as she told me it was ok that they would still take us. This facility was very kid friendly and the employees were very kind. As far as cleanliness, was not the cleanest but I it could be because it was 15 min before closing. My daughter was very worried about having her hair cut but Jasmine was great with her. She treated her like a big girl and asked her what she would like to watch on TV, and how she would like to wear her hair. We got the 1st hair cut package which consisted of the cut, a lock of hair, a picture and certificate and an accessory of choice (all for $24). Her hair came out cute and my daughter was very happy. I also liked the way I saw them treating other clients that walked in and not only did Jasmine thank me , so did her co-worker. Her co-worker even helped her prep some things for her without being asked. That show's that they work great as a team. read more

I have found our new place to get my son's haircuts. Everyone was so nice. His haircut looked amazing and it was very reasonably priced. $14 and they gave my son bubbles! They have Netflix and flat screen tv's which helped immensely to distract my son. He didn't cry once! The play area is nice and clean and my kids loved the chalkboard on the walls. This review is long overdue, I have been coming here for over a year and it is honestly all because of Vero. I started off with bringing my son here who is very picky and he loved his haircut, I bring my daughter and my mom now and have recommended multiple ppl to Vero because she is awesome she goes above and beyond to make sure that we are always satisfied with each service and she genuinely cares about each and every one of her customers. You will not find anyone else like Vero she does a great job and she is very personable. read more

Cute place! Clean, lots of toys for waiting children in a designated play area, flat screens at each station with netFlix so a huge choice of shows to distract the little tikes while they're in the chair. Separate boys and girls hair cutting stations based on the different decors of the shop. Wide selection of accessories with plenty of bling. My only issue was that as a place specializing in kids cuts, the cut my kiddo got wasn't so great. I had to go home and fix it. and ultimately, the "bowl cut" he got had to be shaved off. The fade was poor, and the part was way too off. Granted, my kiddo was squirmy, but won't you be if you had a shaver pressed deeply into your skull. I'm willing to give them another try, but may ask for another individual since this is closer than our normal kiddie salon that we patron. read more

I LOVE this place!! Very clean, fun, friendly, and my son loves getting his hair cuts here. This was the very 1st place we took him to get his 1st hair cut. They offer a first haircut certificate with a lock of your child's hair along with a before and after picture, and they even laminate it for you. It's is a great keep sake for parents :) My son loves the lightning McQueen chair and watching his favorite cartoons while getting his hair done by Kristen...she is AMAZING!! Ask for her when calling or dropping in ...she is great with kids, super fast when cutting kids hair...I only ask for her ;) They even let your little one pick a toy after the haircut. Tuesday & Wednesdays are family special days...anyone in the family is $12 each!!!! That's a great deal!! Just recently Got my hair cut and colored there while my son played in their toy play area. I was shopping at the Lakewood Mall when a cute kid came up to me and handed me a flyer for a kid's hair salon. I placed it in my purse & a few weeks later I decided to take my daughter. I live in Lakewood, the salon is in borderline Bellflower but located in Paramount on Alondra and Lakewood behind the Subway. The was located on a private lot with a lot of parking, the outside of the location is very nice. The lot and salon look like a brand new construction. It's a little hard to tell what the business is about from the outside until you read the banner. When I walked into the salon it wasn't what I had expected. I have taken my kids to other children's salons before, where they decorate with prime colors and cartoon characters, all the ones I have been too look cluttered and cramped. However, Coco's salon is larger than the average and is split into sections. There is a girls side with 3 chairs for small girls; a Mercedes AMG truck for girls up to 7years old, a buggie for girls up to 3 years old, and an adorable princess chair for girls up to 9 years old. There are two white styling chairs for adults and kids. The walls are pink and white. There is a play pen with a kitchen, work bench, coloring books on a small table, and toys, but my kids favorite was the chalkboard walls. The boys side is a nice blue with 2 race cars, a football shaped styling chair ( cool and unique!) and a regular blue styling chair. Two chairs have a TV where kids can watch Netflix. The salon is well put together, there was a lot of thought put into it's design. It seems like there is room for the whole family, from babies to adults. The bathroom is also very nice, roomy and has a changing table. Service: As soon as my daughter and I walked in we were greeted by the receptionist. She was very friendly and smiled often, she showed us a menu of services, I thought this was unique. They do it all! Manis and pedis for kids, face painting, parties, adult hair services including lip and eyebrow waxing. I was offered a cup of coffee and my daughter was offered a water. The attention my daughter and I were given is very much appreciated. The receptionists placed me in the hands of Kristen who did my daughters layered cut and style. The cut was great, my daughter was incredibly happy and felt pretty cool sitting in the truck (my daughter is 8). Her cut was finished with a heart shaped braid and a pretty bow. I paid $17.00 for her services but given the beauty of the salon, the cut, style and bow i thought this was cheap. I usually pay $20 for a wet haircut (no style or blow dry). Observations: While I waited for my daughter's haircut to be finished I witnessed a little boys cut. The receptionists was assisting the stylists because the little boy, who must have been 2 was very scared. The receptionists was blowing bubbles while the stylists calmed the boy down and only when he was calm enough she would clip his hair. She was patient, I never saw her frown or get frustrated. The cut must have taken 45 minutes. It's very comforting to take your kid to a place where you are not shamed for your kid being scared or fuzzing. I got a genuine sense of compassion and patience from the staff. There is a very calm and soothing vibe in the salon. Accessories and products: They carry a lot of cute bows, head bands, rubber bands, tiaras, and other hair accessories starting at $1.99 to $4.99 (not sure about the tiaras). They carry Joico for adults and Circle of friends for kids. Both products are very well respected in the Salon Industry. There are gels and wax hair products for boys. Over all: My experience was exceptional, the salon hit all the soft spots for me, pretty salon for girls, cool salon for boys, comforting for parents and a cool waiting area for the siblings. As long as this salon and staff stay grounded and keep customers first, my daughter and I will be loyal clients. I will return for a haircut soon. Discounts/promotions: On Tuesdays and Wednesdays the haircuts are $5.00 off. Every time you spend over $12 you get a stamp on their business card, they only require 5 stamps in order to get $10 off your next service, most places require 10 stamps. If you have more than one child they also do sibling discounts but I didn't ask too much on that. read more
