Not only is she an incredible human, but her haircuts are always absolutely dialed in. She truly cares about her work and takes her time to make sure the final result is perfect every single visit. My brother is also a barber, but he lives too far away for me to see regularly. When we moved to the Long Beach/Lakewood area, I started searching for someone local--and my brother told me the mark of a truly excellent barber is consistency: being able to deliver a great haircut every single time. Before I found Lyda, I tried other barbers where the cut would turn out differently from visit to visit (even with the same person), and I was never fully happy with the results. Lyda is the opposite--she's consistent, detail-oriented, and the results are solid every time. Honestly, the shop should be called Exceptional Cuts because that's exactly what she delivers. Lyda consistently goes the extra mile to make sure her clients are happy, comfortable, and confident when they leave. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and truly cares about her clients. Amazing Cuts is my go to for haircut. The name itself is the experience you will get. I have been going here for years now. Appointment process is excellent and followed. You just have to do it in advance as Lyda tends to get really busy and easily fully booked. Lyda is very professional and has stellar customer service. My daughters are both teenagers and very picky and they are always happy. This shop is located in same shop as Foggia Deli and Dominos pizza off Del Amo Blvd. Easy to find and close to home. My daughter just turned 9 end of December and it was time for her first haircut. She was very nervous to go through with it. Lydia was very kind and encouraging throughout the haircut process. My kids hair was super long and in one layer so we got some layers put it and a good trim off the dry ends like 3-4 inches trimmed off. Super simple salon, where you can get a good cut from Lyda - owner/stylist extraordinaire. I wanted to lose length and add more layers and Lyda was careful to trim slowly and make sure it's what I wanted. She airs on side of being conservative (you can always cut more but you can't add back approach), so if you want more dramatic cuts and layers, be explicit in saying so and give her free reign to be more bold. Lyda's also a seasoned cook and had tips on where to find authentic Cambodian food worth eating out for. Definitely ask! read more

I found amazing cuts on Yelp!. I called and made an appointment with Lyda, the owner. I explained I was an older male with Covid hair and a ponytail and that I wanted my hair to remain long but more styled. When I went in she shampooed my hair, cut my hair wet and listened to what I had to say about how I wanted my hair to look. The vibe is not amazing. This is the 2nd time I submitted to her, and the last time. The first time she was blatantly incoherent to my request. I would tell her exactly what I wanted and then she would ask for a picture. The 2nd time I told her, "here is a picture, look at what I am telling you to do" with hand gestures and illustrations of very specific instructions. She would respond multiple times incoherently as if the only way she understood someone's request was if she had a 2-dimensional picture to reference (maybe because her eyes were held back behind 2 corrective lenses). Looking back at her work now, she did not do as I instructed her, though I gave her specific points of reference. She crossed the line on 2 sides and I was left to pay $2 more than last time. Well, now I have to wait something like 2 months until I grow back what I specifically instructed her not to cut past. read more

Lyda squeezed my daughter in for a much needed haircut and was very patient with her. She was very sweet and did a thorough job getting the cut perfect. However the price for a toddler's haircut was pretty steep considering it didn't have all the bells and whistles of a kids haircut place including screens, colorful themed chairs, toys, etc. I paid $28 plus tip for her haircut. The place is cash only so make sure you have cash on hand. She gives a good toddler haircut though! I'd consider coming back! read more
