This is our 2nd time taking our boys here.. service is great theres no question about it.all of them are great especially dealing with kids (toddlers) but one thing threw me off this visit was the front receptionist told us that she doesnt know the wifi password for the customers. At the back of my mind i was like "are you foreal?" Before they were giving customers access to there wifi and all but i dont know what happened this time around. This place is definitely amazing! Everyone is extremely friendly from the moment you walk in. We had originally gone there for my niece's haircut only. So we go in, let them know we want to donate the hair and they begin. Jenny is who helped us. She was honest about not feeling comfortable doing a dry cut on my niece's hair, which makes sense now the more I think about it. What works on me doesn't work on every hair type. Okay, back to the review. What I loved is that she took her time. We've gone to other salons and they cut her hair extremely quick, not paying attention to the little details like she did. Once she was done, my niece was able to decide what hairstyle she would like. She decided upon a braid. Must I say, it looked gorgeous! Not only is she good at cutting and styling but she is amazing at doing eyebrows. I was extremely nervous since the last place I had been going for years messed up my eyebrows. I was literally walking around with caterpillars on my face because I wouldn't trust anyone with them. I showed her a picture of how I like them and asked her a couple of times if she was able to do them the same. She said yes. My heart was beating like there was no tomorrow as I walked to the back. She was very friendly and allowed me to see one eyebrow after she had finished. I was in love. It definitely diminished some of my anxiety. Once I saw the finished product I was relieved. I had my first haircut today with Jazmine, the Jazmine with a 'z', the one with the straight hair with blue steaks, not Jasmine with an 's', the one with the freckles. Anywho, my hair was looking a bit uneven and shaggy even though I don't really have a lot of it. Mom wanted to get me neatened up a bit. The salon is divided very strictly by gender. Which is a bit much. I mean one side is pink with glitter and tiaras and ribbons. The other side is blue with sports and superheroes. I mean I get it boys and girls are different but it was like, "don't cross the line!" The boys side was full, and my usually "don't give a rat's ass about gender norms" parents (my mom actually) decided to wait for a boys' chair rather than sit me in a princess throne. Maybe a middle section with primary colors and shapes or animals would be nice. But I digress, I got the first haircut package which comes with pictures, a souvenir lock of hair and laminated certificate. Mom didn't know they were going to laminate my certificate. She would have asked for two bits of my hair. It was too late they'd swept everyone's hair into a pile. There are toys in the waiting area and I met other cool kids while I waited. I got my hair cut sitting in my dad's lap, but bigger kids get to sit in chairs that are like sports cars (both boys and girls). Older kids can also sit in ordinary barber/salon chairs. A lot of the boys were crying cause they don't like clippers. Coco's employs an army of people blowing bubbles, making noise, dancing to distract them. It works. Mom opted for a no clippers haircut for me which also worked. They have TVs with Netflix so we watched Octonauts, and there are toys to play with, I picked a clicking ball. My haircut was neat and pleasant with no tears and over quick as a wink. read more

In one visit, I saw two separate men cut the lines and order on the sign in sheet by harassing the staff. Meanwhile, my family and other families waited patiently by, in a stuffy overheated room well passed our appointment time. If an appointment is the same as walking in, stop making appointments on the phone since it doesn't matter. Clearly they do not know how to handle their "business." I went with just scissors as my son was already worked up. He wouldn't stay in the car so I needed to hold him. She provided me with a smock to keep my clothing clean. My wife took our two boys to Family Cutz for the first time today. We mentioned that it was our family's first time and everyone seems friendly. When it came to paying for the cuts my wife was a little upset because when they gave her the total I was told $16 and my wife paused and asked; wait how much are haircuts? The stylist said $16 each, my replies saying that it says $12 on the website, the Monday & Tuesday special. The stylist said "oh that deal is over a year old", my wife replied "I just saw it this morning on the website" then the stylist said "oh well we don't really use the website" It's absurd because they were super nice especially knowing that it was our first time there. I contacted this place and told them I'd like to make an appointment for my son. They informed me an appointment wasn't necessary and to just walk in any time. If they had said "we charge $10 for an appointment and the fee will not go to your service BUT there is currently a long wait" I would have made an appointment. I came in right away and there was a long wait. The waiting room was completely full. I told them I tried to make an appointment but they informed me it wasn't necessary but it looks super busy. I asked how long the wait was and the woman behind the counter just blatantly ignored me. Just started talking to one of the stylists about another client. The last time I was here the stylist cut my sons scalp. He had a scar for over a week and was hysterical for a good 10 min. It's hard to find a place that does a good job with kids, especially little ones who don't know how to sit still. Luckily we found this place on yelp, been bringing my almost 2 year old son at least once a month for almost a year now. Kristen is our go to girl, she does a great job & she's quick! My son does not sit still at all & although he's getting used to the haircuts he has some days where he still cries, but even then she gets the job done. Place is clean, they have games & tvs for the kids, they even have hair coloring/ cuts for adults. I got a haircut once while my son got his haircut. Vero cut my sons hair today. My son has never been good during a hair cut. He has freaked out and cried, which is why he's had home haircuts his entire life. Vero was awesome. She was quick and not timid. She has experience with wigglers and squirmers and gave him a great haircut in just a few minutes.
